Extremely Frustrated and Disappointed with Spectrum - If you can go with a different provider. I have been a Spectrum customer for 6 years, and my experience has been nothing short of frustrating. Over the years, Spectrum has repeatedly forced me to upgrade from their lowest-priced tier to the most expensive one. Every time there was an issue with my Wi-Fi, the blame was always placed on me--either I didn't have enough coverage, or I needed to upgrade. This continued until I was paying for the highest tier, yet the problems persisted. Even now, after paying top dollar for their most expensive service, I still experience frequent outages and issues with the service. And somehow, it's *still* my fault. The most recent insult was being told by their customer service that I should switch to a business account because "residential services are for pleasure, not for working from home." Are you serious? In this day and age, when so many people rely on home internet for work, that's an absurd and infuriating statement. As if that wasn't enough, I've also been told that I need to "plan better" around their outages. How am I supposed to do that when their communication is slow, unreliable, and always changing? They give you a time for when the service will be restored, but it never happens when they say it will. The estimated repair times keep getting pushed back, and when you call for an update, they just give you the canned response that "it's just an estimate, and the time can change at any moment." No kidding, Sherlock. What makes this situation even more infuriating is that I can't switch providers because Spectrum is the only one offering relatively fast speeds in my area. I'm stuck paying a premium price for a product that doesn't deliver and dealing with customer service that refuses to take any responsibility. I am beyond frustrated with Spectrum's service, customer support, and the ridiculous prices they charge for such a subpar product. If you have other options, I would strongly advise you to steer clear of Spectrum. Unfortunately, I don't, and I'm stuck with this overpriced, unreliable service. read more

Worst internet service on the face of the earth. People in the middle of Africa have more reliable connections than Spectrum. It goes out every morning for a couple of hours. They sent a tech out last month who replace one of the cables that was years old leading into the house. He said another tech would come out and replace the cable coming from the pole, and that I didn't have to be here. I don't think that ever even happened. The modem and router they gave me when I resubscribed last year are EXACTLY the same as the ones I had 5 years ago. Cheapest and worst router and modem they can find. It was odd. I have a spectrum phone now and have no issues. I wanted to upgrade and I went to the retail store to do so. I was told within 10 seconds of walking in to "go to the website, we don't do that here" I was like...then why are you here? they literally have a storefront that is instructed to tell everyone that walks in to go to the website. Maybe this was just the person having a bad day and not wanting to deal with me...either way he service was as bas as it gets. read more

If I could give it no stars . . . I would. Avoid this location if you are dropping off equipment. Use the UPS office on N Lakewood and 380. Keep a copy of your receipt just incase Spectrum tries to charge you for the equipment. Time spent at this location, 1 hour. Two customers seen during that entire time by to clerks. No one else was seen, as the waiting list was cleared by people leaving out of frustration. Avoid the lines and BS and hit up your local UPS office. read more

Terrible service. If my internet is working on my phone, it's not working on my ipad. I reset the router and modem and still have the same problem. Make the call for service and it works for a day or two but then the same problems exist again. read more

Horrendous, the rudest customer service on Earth. I own several rental properties and I have never ever been talked to the way these employees have dealt with me. Closed the account, new renters took over new account months ago and so-called customer service will still not stop harassing me...they call me everyday from a 800 number for payments even after the account closed, for the "equipment". When I finally answered one day, I told them I won't pay anything over the phone, send me a statement, they get hostile and threaten to send me to collections. Worse company ever. I'm paying almost 100$ a month for wifi and I'm averaging between 65-85mbps. Terrible terrible speeds. Also the WiFi seems to be out often and when it's not out it's terrible. There are dead spots in my house where it is super slow. The worst service I've had and I've tried getting it fixed. There's no fixing this. Everyone go over to AT&T. Getting AT&T cause it'll be cheaper and they have faster speeds plus much better reviews. Spectrum used to be good but they've fallen off so hard. I originally called on the 20th to cancel my services for the 23rd. So I wanted WiFi for the few days until I could get a new provider. Turns out the lady made a mistake and canceled it the day I called. Had to call back the next day to try to get it reactivated for a few days and they said that I would be charged my monthly payment for those few days. Not doing that of course. Customer service sucks, no one seems to know how to do their job, no ones on the same page, WiFi sucks. Terrible company. Everyone please avoid. read more

I needed to return a router I was given during my installation, and while I was able to do that, I got nonstop pitched on all their other services the entire time. I have to give them credit for being friendly about it, but damn. On the plus side, they wore masks and their store was clean. Went to store today and was helped by Joel. Helped me fix my iPhone X. It was running slow and wasnt getting 4G or LTE for some reason. I had called customer support over the phone 5x and they didnt help at all. Joel was able to solve my issue in seconds by taking my sim card out, cleaning it, and putting it back in my phone. So far we are going good, my phone is connecting to the internet and Im getting texts/iMessages. Who ever does the pay raises at this specific store needs to give Joel a raise for his great customer service skills. I know a great employee when I see one, that being Joel. read more

What can I say about spectrum that is positive? About the only thing I can say is the store is about 5 mins away from me. Everything else with spectrum has been a complete nightmare from day one. Now I will start off by saying this review is for the online and over the phone side of spectrum. I have only been inside the store one time and really did not speak with anyone. I know they say the store and the online are two completely different sides but the online side does not have a real way to leave a review about an experience and calling customer service will do you no good. So I'm sorry to the store but i had to let everyone know how this experience went so maybe they may think twice before getting spectrum. So my time with spectrum starts off 5 months ago. My wife and i were moving from the middle of nowhere to McKinney to be closer to our jobs. I was doing some online shopping for internet and internet only when I came across spectrum. I have heard of them before but never actually had any product with them. I called up the sales department and started to speak with a sales rep about how crappy my current internet was and what I used it for. After going over everything he recommended 500MBS or 1GIG. Currently I was at 250MDS and both of those sounded great. and when he told me how much it would be I was extremely happy. I went with 1GIG and set everything up to be delivered and installed the day we move in. Which was about a month away. After we finished all that up he asked who i had for my cell phones. I told him who i had and how many lines. We talked about what i like in phones and what we currently had. We have iPhone and love the iPhone. Plus the iPhone is easy for my mom to use do to the simplicity of the interface and large icons and buttons. After speaking with him for about an hour and a half about phones he convinced up to go away from the iPhone and go with an android. The google Pixel 7 to be exact. He told me how much better they are in every way. Better battery, Camera, Interface, functionality, volume, and all around workings of the phone. As we were making the order on the phones and setting up delivery I told him not to ship the phones to the service address because we did not live there yet and would be about a month before we did. I asked him if we could have the phones delivered on the same day as the internet equipment and he told me that was not possible. BUT if I let the order finish going through and finalize then I could call back and get the delivery address changed. He said that should take about 24 hours to do so. I thanked for for his help and recommendations and we got off the phone. I then called back the next day after everything had finished up and requested to change the delivery address for the phones. Being able to change the address was a lie. I could not change a thing about my mobile order and needed to wait for them to be delivered. I was informed that changing the address would be a form of fraud and could not be done. But i could contact FedEx about holding at a location. After going back and forth with FedEx and spectrum for about 3 days my wife finally had to call out of work and sit at the apartments for 2 days for the phones to be delivered. So they were not signed for by the wrong person who might just keep the phones. We did eventually get the phones. we moved into our new apartment and started using spectrum mobile and internet. Over the next few months we started experiencing really bad problems with our phones, The battery died out way to fast and the phones would overheat and shut down, The phone was also really hard for my mom to use and function correctly. We also never had good internet. I signed up for a 1GIG and have been paying for 1GIG. I never actually get GIG speeds. Now i know i would never actually get a full GIG of speed but i at least expected 800MDS or 700 at the least. But i would constantly get 300 and that was over Wi-Fi and hard wired. In the months up until now i have had 4 different techs come out to look at why I'm not getting my speeds and i have had the modem and router changed out 4 times. No tech that came out could ever tell me why my speeds where not wear they needed to be. it was not until the last tech came out about 3 weeks ago that actually told me that the lines that a running the internet to the apartments seems to be damaged or old. That was the reason i was not getting my speeds and i would never get those speeds until that wiring is replaced. He told me to call up customer service and request for someone to reach out to the apartments about getting that done and to see about getting dome of my money back that i had been over paying for months. Spectrum refused to do anything about it or compensate me for over paying by $40 for 5 months. The wiring was my responsibility to fix and i should have reduced my speeds if i didn't want to over pay for something i would not get. read more

I tried to drop off cable boxes after working with Customer Service on the phone to change my services. I was told to go to the McKinney Texas Spectrum Store. I went in on Saturday, August 28, 2021. No manager was on duty. I was treated so badly by the 3 employees in the store it is almost inconceivable. They took my cable boxes but would not provide a receipt. They could not correct my services as promised by Customer Service because they told me that the on-phone Customer Service group did not know what they were doing. I was also told I had wasted 20 minutes of their time. I had to return and retrieve the boxes after Customer Service told me that I had to get them back if the store would not provide a receipt. I left in tears. As you know, this has all taken about 5 hours on the phone and in the store. read more

Yet they are charging me for a cycle that I have never even used. The call center and Twitter help desk people are as incompetent as they come. No answers just run arounds.
