Loved stumbling onto this place. The peach sangria sign drew me in but then after landing at the bar Cheryl and her great service kept me. I stayed at the bar and ordered the vegetable platter which was fired goodness. It was a great place to stop in for a drink and escape the heat! I'd definitely return. read more

A nice restaurant with wonderful employees and service but the food was pretty good other than the pizza, I ordered a pizza and it's was really soft and just a weird texture but the bbq wings were pretty good read more

I really like this place! The people are friendly, the food is awesome and the beer is cold!

So this is a River Street, very touristy, place. It's known for it's chicken fingers, I stopped in to watch the Spring NCAA football scrimmages while drinking a beer. The servers were nice and attentive. But, the place is typical of River Street, kinda dirty, crowded, and full of tourists. Now don't get me wrong, I was a tourist. But I like clean, well kept, civilized local establishments. This place could have been any regular chain restaurant any where. If you have the kids and need the chicken fingers, it's probably your place to go. If you're out with someone special, you can probably skip this place. read more

Very good inexpensive place to eat. This is our 2nd time here and food didn't disappoint. The service was great and tried an appetizer which was chips and queso and it wasn't spectacular. The chips were stale and cheese sauce tasted like it was pre-made. The chicken on the other hand was great and my husband enjoyed his fish and shrimp and you actually got quite a bit of shrimp as well read more

I go back and forth on Spankys. In general, it's difficult to get in anywhere on River Street without craziness and be able to sit down. Spankys offers a bit of a rest with its table service. Personally I'd rather grab something at Willies and walk the Boardwalk or end up somewhere with music and dancing! read more

We stopped here for a late lunch. A variety of food so both the wife and I could find something. We started with the sampler platter (new). There were 4 chicken fingers, about 3 1/2 to 4 inches long. Ok, but ......4 coated and fried potato rounds, my wife liked them the best. 4fried pickle Spears, two fried cheese sticks . Eh, premade, frozen? And 5 types of dipping sauce. I still don't know what they we're, one marinara, and one honey mustard. Not worth the $11 or $12. I ordered the shrimp po boy,. Not really a po boy if it on a soft sub roll. The shrimp were good, but only 8 on the sandwich. Wife ordered house salad with chicken. She liked the chicken, half of the salad was some type of frisee, not what she thought should be on a house salad. Hony musturd dressing was the same as the dipping sauce. She didn't eat it. Nothing really bad just not really good either. read more

The bar is a hole in the wall bar so it doesn't look like much when you first see it. However, the food was absolutely delicious. I recommend their chicken fingers and spuds. Our waitress was great and took care of us without being annoying. The only issue was that it was not a super clean place but hey, it was a bar... read more

Got a Tito's and tonic extra lime, or what should have been, to go. Watched the bartender put about a one second pour into then a double tall glass filled with a mix of tonic and water and one lime. $6. Not worth it and there was no alcohol in my drink. Keep it moving to the next bar. read more

What's so great about potatoes and chicken fingers? You can pretty much get them anywhere. When my sister suggested Spanky's, I was less than excited. It is in a touristy area on the river, and I assumed it would be plain old American fare that I could get anywhere else. Our server was adorable calling us "my girls." The chicken fingers are delicious--the breading making them stand out!!! And the spuds??? They are worth the trip alone if you are a potato fan, and this fat girl certainly is!!!! It's a great place for lunch while shopping on the strip!!! read more

We ordered two of the platter appetizers and shared between 3 people. The food in it was very good. The fried pickles we the best. There was not as much food as we though on each one. Only 2 mozzarella sticks on each, 4 fried pickles on each, 3 chicken tenders i believe, and a few of the fried potatoes on each. service we had was good, but unorganized when we first were seated. read more

Georgia on my Mind is a fun drink to try in the South. Spanky's is a cute place to have lunch. Our waiter, Jake was really helpful with good suggestions. We were grateful to let his manager know how much we appreciated the excellent service considering the lack of employees willing to work these days. Chicken tenders are really good. Georgia on My Mind cocktail was perfection! read more

Good food. Casual rustic atmosphere. Friendly service. My wife had the shrimp po-boy and I the chicken tenders. The best tenders I have ever had. Not overly breaded, just right. Meaty and juicy. O ordered the 8 piece, when the 5 would have been plenty. read more

Service was superb, food was excellent! Loved the sour cream and mushroom burger and spuds. Highly recommend!

no social distancing and once we got seated we were left waiting for 45 minutes after we ordered our food. when the food arrived we felt rushed to eat as the parking meter was only paid for 2 hours. read more

This place has the best chicken fingers and make sure you get the spuds. Good service and friendly staff.

Just ok. I have to the salad with fried chicken tenders. It was good, the ranch dressing was very good. Daughters had the kids pizza, looked like a heat and serve item but they ate it all. Husband got the Philly cheese steak and liked it. Just middle of the road bar food. Bar area is was load, they rang a bell at times. Not sure what that was about read more

This place is a tourist trap. A couple of my coworkers and I went here for dinner. It was awful. You can get a better meal at McDonald's. The spuds were okay but don't order the chicken with pita green onions and mozzarella. No flavor what so ever. The salad was served in a 1/2cup container. Don't waste you money on this place. To top it off some drunk chick puked on a table near us and we got to enjoy a nice bleach aroma while dinning. read more

This Spankys has always been a tradition with my family however the hostility me and my friend were given here was unwarranted and concerning and we will never return here. My friend had an expired ID and due to this I was given terrible service and hostile behavior, and I made numerous attempts to comment on decorations or begin conversations with the bartenders to be written off and treated as an unwelcome presence. Me, my close friends, nor my family will ever return here to be treated as such. read more

Waited around 15 minutes to get spoken to and the staff communicated with me as if they did not want me there. It seemed as if I had done something wrong with the way I was treated. The middle aged bartenders were very cross and not friendly and I am not sure that I will return in the future. read more

If I could give this place less stars I would. As I walked into the place the smell of dirty mop that has been resting on throw up hit me, but I pushed that a side and said "let's see what they have to offer" As I waited for my turn to order lol you would of thought they took my order no they skipped me and that's when I had enough then left. I've heard so many bad things about this place being racist that they should just go ahead and force whoever had the idea of this place to get there employees together or just close forever. read more

Great customer service and great beer. Zack was an amazing bartender who was very accommodating and helpful.

A group of us stopped by for chicken and spuds. Really like the atmosphere and Cheryl, the bartender and our server, was great-very friendly, helpful and patient. Food was very good, nice selection of beers. Great place to stop by. read more

Was referred here by a cashier at a store on river st. Very cool, laid back spot for a quick meal. The chicken strips which they are known for were the bomb and those Spanky fries were good too! My daughter had the pizza which looked good for a kids pizza it was baked in a wooden oven. Overall cool spot if you want some regular, non touristy food in the area. The drinks are good too! read more

Awesome service from Sarah G. She really went above and beyond for me and my party. No hesitation. No delay. No arguments. She was just there. She's kind, courtesy and extremely friendly. The food was excellent. I really like the honey horseradish sauce. Very sweet and just the right amount of bite. The chipotle ranch sauce was amazing too. Very zesty and not too spicy. I'll definitely recommend to my friends, if they already haven't gone in already. The chicken fingers are very tender. I also really like the cole slaw. Very zippy and just the right amount of spices. Nothing else needs to be added and nothing has to be removed. I saw your pizzas and they look great too. I may order one on my next visit. Even if I don't get Sarah G as my server, I have great faith your entire staff is amazing and will give me the same amazing service. When I go again, I'll be sure to post a pic of my order so others can see what I am saying is just super. Sarah G puts "custom" in customer service. read more

That Shrimp Po Boy!!! Babbeeeeee! One of the best I think I've ever had! Good customer service and good music!

The best southern comfort food in Savannah! I always get the chicken fingers with spuds... AMAZING!

We love this place for a fast, delicious meal in downtown Savannah. The food is exceptional- you'd never guess that such a relaxed bar would have such great food! We've had Jake as a server several times, and he is always really friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered came out in a reasonable time and tasted hot and fresh. This is definitely a great place and we look forward to going back! read more

We sat at the bar for a drink. It was a fun atmosphere-right on River Street.
