I'm giving one star for customer service and not quality of food. If this review was about food, it would be a five star review. However, this review is about poor customer service! I've been a loyal customer for the past eight years. I come to Spanky's at least once or twice a week. We absolutely LOVE your pizza. Even being a vegetarian, I am still able to enjoy Spanky's! However since they've moved next door to bigger space and have new servers who are a lot younger than the old staff we absolutely love, I can't say the customer service is at its finest like it used to be. Lately, I order take out instead. Last week they had my order separate. I ordered a pizza and a side salad. When I picked my order, the girl took my money and gave me my pizza. I had to ask for my salad before I walked away because they did not have my order together. This past Monday when my boyfriend went to pick up our food, he came home without my salad. He had to go back and get my salad WE PAID FOR and didn't get. And when I called all the girl could say is, "we have it here." No freakin way my salads there bc I didn't get it! It would've been more appropriate for her to say "I'm so sorry about that. We do have your salad here if you'd like to come get it or we can accommodate this inconvenience to you some other way." But there's absolutely no customer service from this staff. Not even, "I'm sorry." I don't think the staff is trained properly! Today when I went to go get my order I wanted to use my Belly rewards card that you guys now offer. The iPad was dead because an employee decided to charge their personal iPhone instead and thought that was more important. Meanwhile, one of the cashiers at the "to-go" counter standing in front of me proceeded to eat her cake pop from Starbucks and did not have a care in the world that she wasn't giving absolutely no customer service like she should have. Not until a guy in the apron asked her to check it, she moved around. Eating in the back of the kitchen is a HUGE health code violation. What if I worked for the health code department? I'm glad her Starbucks tea had a lid! I am very much aware and knowledgeable of the rules in the restaurant industry. Servers in the state of Texas are now required to have their food handlers certification as well and not just their tabc. The amount of customer service I've been receiving from Spanky's staff has been super disappointing lately. Cashier/host it is your job to make sure that everything in your work area is functioning properly in order to provide excellent customer service to your customers. I usually tip on my to go orders, and today I could not find it in me to do that. Its been extremely disappointing experiences these last two weeks. I work for a local Houston business, if we forget to do something for a customer we make it up to them. We credit their account or their next purchase is on us and sometimes both! And most importantly, we try and make sure it never happens again especially to the same customer! I just don't understand how two trips in a row, my salad is an issue. And on this last trip, a rewards service you provide is down because an employee decided to charge their personal iPhone instead. Your cashiers at the to-go counter are too busy playing around and not there to do their job. At least try and be discreet about eating your cake pop! At least try to do your job and what's expected of you as a cashier/host of Spanky's! I'm not just paying for food, I'm paying for service as well! What I tip is a reflection of your service more than it is for the food. Customer service should be your top priority! read more
