What did I do on National Pizza Day? Pizza 1: I picked my kids favorite pizza which they have several times a week. I AM THAT MOTHER. I don't like whiney kids; just give them what they want. Little Caesar's, five dollar hot and ready's, are my favorite too because it leaves me with shopping money. Where can you feed a family of 4 on $11 and change? (I double dog dare you to find some other place for me) Pizza 2: I also picked a new pizza that a friend had just raved about on Facebook and just happen to be the same distance from us as our regular joint (LC) in a different direction, King's Pizza on Edgebrook, where three cities meet, Houston, South Houston, and Pasadena. (Come to think of it (LC is right on the border as well of the three cities, its complicated take my word for it) Put it on your calendar because if you keep up with the Chavez's, we never agree. NOT EVER, until today. We are not fans of King's Pizza. First of all, if all I am having on my pizza is pepperoni, it better have pepperoni in every bite. It was good, just didn't beat the cheaper version of Little Caesar's. The sauce wasn't as good either. That's just the food. Little C: No wait time it's hot and ready Kings Pizza: They said 10 minutes I was there 20 Little C: It may not be clean, what I don't know won't kill me, it looks clean King's Pizza: It looked filthy and smelled like truck stops restroom. (I provided a picture of the "employees only" door, it's the first thing you see when you walk in) Little C: I have never had a complaint about their service here, and we have been going for many, many, many years. King's Pizza: I wanted to get out of there so bad. All she had to do was close my pizza box and hand it to me but she answered the phone, left my pizza in the box with lid open, until she finished her two phone calls. TWO, 1 on her cell, and 2, a business call, phone on each ear. Multi-task earns you one star. The business call was a complaint about a delivery that had not arrived yet. The entire conversation I was thinking: "Just close the box and give it to me, close the box. Give me my ******* Pizza! I want to leave! NO STARS FOR YOU!" Hey, it's the hood and it has fantastic reviews from folks I am sure don't venture out to the better places in life. A few suggestions: Luna, Bombay, Piola, Dolce Vita, Your Pie (just a few) I am not like the rest and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree after all. A family that eats together stays together. So today I was on Fairmont and my husband wanted some pizza. Normally we go to spankys, but today I looked on Yelp, and noticed this place had a better rating than spankys. So I decided to give them a try. Not only was it very reasonably priced, but it was so delicious. It wasn't too greasy , or too thick. It looked so fresh and it was just super delicious. Normally when I eat pizza, I usually feel bloated and it upsets my stomach. This pizza didn't make me feel that way. I'm so glad I stopped by and gave it a try. I will definitely be stopping by when we want pizza. No more spankys that's for sure. read more

The cheese is gooey and plentiful. We got a one topping large, our one topping was extra cheese. This pizza was almost too cheesy for my girlfriend, but I thought it was JUST right. We also ordered an extra cheese, beef, and pepperoni pizza. They put our toppings under the layer of extra cheese. We also got 20 hot wings, these wings were huge. Way bigger than any wings you may get from the top chain pizza places. The pizza was delicious, the crust was soft but very filling. I'd order from here over any of the chains. Now I don't have to go into the loop for good pizza. Been waiting for a good place in SE Houston. I reviewed Luciano's on the west side of 45 too. Not as impressive. This place is it. Like other reviewers have said, it's take out or delivery only. They have a few chairs for people waiting for pizza. They have enough room to put in two or three tables and a tv. I had a strawberry cheesecake that was frozen but still good after letting it thaw for a bit. The wings were definitely below mid, not enough sauce or hotness. Guys, the pizza is friggin' delicious. It's the real deal. I didn't know what to expect since there are absolutely no photos of the pizza anywhere on the internet or even inside the place. To be fair, it's not a restaurant, so you'll either pick up or get it delivered. I'll post photos so you can get an idea of the pizza style. I got pepperoni, mushroom, and onion. Wow! I'm amazed at how bad they messed up pizza. Me and my wife didn't want to cook and wanted to try something new so I check the reviews at yelp and king had mostly good reviews so we tried it. Given the positivity of all the other reviews perhaps it was just an off day for King Pizza. But we had a meats pizza and a couple of pasta dishes and they were awful. Everything just tasted of nothing but massive amounts of salt. I suspect the real culprit was the sauce, but since everything was covered in the same ridiculously salty sauce there's no way to be sure. Very disappointed especially after reading some wonderful reviewings of King Pizza. I travel often for work and try to avoid big chain restaurants however after ordering dinner from King Pizza I wish I hadn't. I ordering a pizza for delivery I was told 45 min to an hour for a wait which is pretty typical for pizza delivery. Over 2 hours later I receive a phone call saying that they can't find my hotel (which i provided a name, address, and room number. I understand sometimes its difficult to get and find places but Kings Pizza is literally less than 4 miles away and must have delivered to this hotel before. Like all food after 2 hours, it was cold and stale upon delivery and unpleasant. I was hopeful to receive an apology and/or perhaps a discount after this inconvenience but instead I was greeted with an unpleasant delivery and 30+ dollars for cold pizza and cheese sticks. I'm only in the Houston area for a few weeks and Kings Pizza will definitely not be one of the restaurants I revisit. read more
