Love this place. It gets busy for its popular pizza and beer. The only thing I don't like is that because it so buzzy they don't let the pizza get cooked to where it kinda crunches. So the cheese ends up falling immediately. But other than that it's great. I believe Monday and Wednesday's they have 10.99 large topping pizza read more

The service is always good and the pasta and sandwiches are awesome but I just can't get with the pizza. The sauce is bland and to robust, the crust is usually over cooked, and don't get fresh garlic! You'll be warding of vampires for two weeks. But otherwise everything else is pretty good. read more

I like going here for lunch, the pizza is probably my favorite food at this place. They have a great margarita and plenty if parking space. Wevhas a few office meetings here and got great service, we didnt have to wait to long to be seated even though it was during busy lunch time. read more

This place is good hands down. The pizza is everything you can ask for. But if your trying to come with your family, your going to wait an 1 HR over... lack of costumer service whoever is arranging the seats literally doesn't know what to do.. hostess is just looking around and letting people go through. So don't even bother to sign in, there's no point!!! This is why I'm rating it a two stars. read more

I grew up in this neighborhood and used to go all the time for pizza and beer when in college. This was my first time back since it has been rebuilt. My wife and I sat at the bar and ordered the wings and a deep dish wheat pizza with meatballs, mushrooms and olives. It was one of the best pizza's we have had in a long time. The house-made ranch dressing was very good on the wings and on the pizza too. We also ordered Grand Gold Margaritas; which Cody made expertly. It was very good and Cody was an excellent bartender and server. My mother still lives in the area so I'll be back often. read more

Great place, went on a Friday night it was packed. Found this place out on yelp. It didn't really have that good of a rating. Soo was a little worried it might not be good. But I read from the other reviews that it was an 80s Pizza Hut recipe and their most popular dish was deep dish pizza. We had the Hawaiian spilt in half with maghrita (can't spell) pizza in deep dish. The pesto in the maghrita pizza was to die for. It wasn't real deep dish but it was great I loved the crust. We also had a Cesar salad. Split between two people. Great service, good atmosphere, very good food. Will definitely come again. read more

Worth checking out for lunch. I didn't want anything heavy for lunch so I went with the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. It was decent. I'll need to comeback and try the pizza. read more

I usually don't like to leave reviews. Just wanted to leave a couple tips of feedback. I dined in last night and the food was absolutely delicious, my service on the other hand was not. My server was Alexis. I understand that as a server you can get busy but neglecting your customers should not be okay. I was checked up on just once while we were there and never got a refill on our drinks. I am hoping today is a better service day. read more

Love love love this place!! Been coming for years!! I always get the chicken parmesan or a pizza!! Both so amazing every time!! Since the new building and the new staff, the service is lacking a bit but it's not intolerable. read more

Pretty good pizza and ambiance. You can come here with your family for dinner or hang out with your friends for drinks. I really dig the new setup at the new location (formerly Gabby's bbq). The service can be hit or miss on a busy night. My favorite pizza is the pepperoni passion New York style. The pastas they serve aren't exactly their strong point but overall decent. I've had better and worse. Even though I miss the original location it's good to know that they still serve the same great pizza. read more

This is some good pizza. The thin crust taste like what Pizza Hut once did before they got cheap and started using imitation cheese and cheap ingredients. The scene inside is always lively and you can expect a wait. I usually just get it to-go when im on this side of town. read more

I love the new Spanky's! Definitely a huge upgrade and the food now matches the decor! Great pizza joint! Very heavy on the cheese and super greasy, but they are serving up pizza and beer in a brand new building with flat screens everywhere! They're ranch dressing is homemade and I swear drives my desire to come here, that ranch and pizza is a great combo, adding the tangy creamy to the cheesy pizza. just try it! read more

Today my girls and I ate here, it was my first time ever eating here! When I tell you the customer service and food are exceptional it is! I give them 5 stars and then some! I'm definitely coming back this will be my new pizza spot! read more

No wings, pizza sucked regular ol pizza I could have bought from a frozen food isle at heb. Margarita was somewhat ok, no utensils for my salad, no refills. Just not a place I would frequent. read more

The reason I'm giving 1 star is for the service. They have a lot of older women who have been there for decades. It's really mind-boggling how they can get away with such careless and lackluster service. My waitress, Rachel, brought out the wrong appetizer. After pointing this out she insisted it was what I asked for. We then proceeded throughout the meal with close to no drink refills. We also had to wait for 10 minutes after asking for a box and the check, mind you it was the SECOND time we had done so. The table next to us was seated after us, and left before us! Will be ordering to go from now on. read more

I've heard about Spanky's for a while. Tried to go a few weeks ago and it was super crowded. That's a good sign, right? We went back this weekend. It smells great and the staff is friendly. That is the best I can say about it. We ordered Mexi-skins as an appetizer. My bad. I read the ingredients as having chilis (as in peppers) but it was chili... as in wolf brand. WTH?... potato skins with a heap of greasy chili, and cheese on top with bell pepper . Dude. No. They didn't get eaten. The waitress also never took the vile things off the table or offered to take them off the check. I ordered the Tuscano pizza. Spinach, kalamata and green olives, artichoke hearts, onions, feta cheese and fresh tomatoes, with a pesto olive oil for sauce. Nice and garlicky. Why is there so much sugar in the crust? Why does this need to be sweet? Boyfriend ordered the Super Duper-pepperoni, green pepper, mushrooms, ham, Italian sausage, beef, onion & black olives. Pretty sure he is trying to make up for my lack of meat eating by eating all the meat ever. He liked it, but again, the dough was sweet. yick. When refilling ice tea, the waitstaff might want to remember the ice part of it. I don't need to go back. Lots of other pizza places around with a better pie. read more

We ordered the deep dish pepperoni passion pizza. It is delicious. Their deep dish style pizza is similar to pizza hut's deep dish pizza but it's not as greasey. A large is big enough to feed 3 people. The inside and outside of Spanky's is very nice. read more

I regularly visit Spanky's. The food is awesome, but the waitstaff could use some lessons on bettering their customer service. One of the times I went, the waitress I had spoke to her coworker about how she hated working the daytime shift because customers don't necessarily tip well. This was said within earshot. My friend and I along with a lady who was sitting at a table next to us just looked at each other and were in disbelief about what we had heard. I mean, it's fine if you hate certain aspects of a job, but do not say it in front of guests. I felt rather uncomfortable with that comment. She seemed rather rude and just wanted to get rid of us. I know people have their good and bad days, but cmon! I went today for their Wednesday special. At the end of the meal, the waitress failed to mention that the pizza that I ordered was not a part of the special. I was fine with that. However, three other people I went with wanted to split an item cost. The waitress said that was not possible. We were annoyed because we knew it could be done. Another waitress took over the situation, once again, rude like and made us go to the computer to assist her in inputting the information. The fact that the original waitress shoved us to the side was disappointing. Having been a waitress myself, I understand the struggle and appreciate effort. Customer service was poor, so I tipped accordingly. All of that aside, the food was wonderful, but maybe I'll be more selective as to who I get as my server. read more

Ordered the personal pizza, buffalo wings, and Alfredo pasta. Dominoes pizza is better than this place. The Alfredo pasta is flavorless and the pizza crust is trash. The wings were soggy and the flavor was just okay. read more

They are back!! ..now in the ol Gabby's bldg. Same ol goodness! Best pizza in the city!!

There pizza is little on the expensive side and isn't that great. The Alfredo pasta was disgusting. I did however like the spaghetti with meatballs. It hardly comes with sauce tho. And to get some extra sauce it's a dollar. This place is a joke! Really don't see myself driving out of my way to come here. read more

I love this place hands down best pizza in houston i recommend the thin crust to anyone! service is great staff is friendly all in all my favorite pizza joint!! Thanks for everything danelle!! read more

A lot of people seem to like this place but for me it was nothing special. I love pizza and I am always down to try any pizza. I don't usually make it to the side of town but If I hear rumors about great pizza, it is always worth to give it a try. As we were entering it smelled so good, I was anticipating eating a great pizza. The place is spacious and it was pretty full, always a good indication. We ended up ordering a pepperoni hand tossed pizza and a caesar salad. The salad was good, better than most restaurants. But I didn't come here for the salad. The pizza itself looked like a great pizza. By the time the pizza arrived at the table I was already annoyed that they don't offer coke, only pepsi and that they didn't even offer one of those pizza spatulas to get the pizza slices onto your plate. The pizza itself was cheesy and gooey. To me, it tasted like early 90's pizza hut. The crust was simply too thick and fluffy. I like crust that is crispy and regular pizza thickness. I must say that I am partial to authentic italian pizza and Spanky's is just not. I think the regular diner will definitely like this pizza. There is no such thing as bad pizza but for me, it was just okay. read more

Extremely cold bring a sweater other than that you had three waitresses and the food was good the end

Went there with family yesterday. I ordered the spinach/garlic pizza (medium on whole wheat). I was disappointed by how little spinach there was on the pizza. You could see the scattering of spinach leaves. I certainly thought there would be way more on there, especially considering I was paying just $1-2 dollars less than pizzas that other patrons ordered that were LOADED with toppings. But it was still tasty and my son loved it. As a customer who seeks for value when eating out, *PLEASE* consider adding more spinach--and maybe fresh tomato? Just a suggestion... read more

I love this place! The food is good the staff is friendly. I travel from spring just to come and dine.

Spanky's is back and better than ever. First of all kudos on having St Arnolds' Santo and their rotating seasonal on tap that itself will draw me in there. The new facility is quite large and exceptionally clean so it is a nice place to bring the family. The food, I feel, has gotten better; you can not go wrong with the super duper. read more

My favorite local pizza place. Margaritas are great and the deep-dish meat lover's pizza is a favorite of mine. Highly recommend!

Normally love this place tonight EVERYTHING was off. We got there it was pretty busy and we were prepared to wait. However we kept seeing people seated ahead of us. We asked about it and the hostess said they had two lists, one for small parties and for large. Then she proceeded to sit 2 parties larger than ours. After 45minutes of waiting we spoke to the manager that never apologized just kept on defending policies that didn't apply to the situation. Also, the margarita I ordered tasted like nothing. read more

My boyfriend and I tried this location for the first time. Our waitress was Letty and she was awesome! She was very good at recommending menu items and made us feel very welcomed. We tried the wings as an appetizer and they were delicious! The sauce was just right and the wings were big! We also ordered the Chicken Alfredo pizza which was also delicious. It was so full of flavor and had a bunch of toppings. I ate half of the pizza by myself! My boyfriend ordered some pasta (can't remember the name) but the sauce was perfect and the serving was huge! Our son had the grilled cheese sandwich basket. The sandwich and fries were fresh and yummy. If you go, ask for Letty! She'll be our regular waitress from here on! read more

If you're ever craving that super cheesy, just the right amount of greasy pizza and pasta this is the place! I got baked spaghetti and it was so good! Sometimes I come across certain types of spaghetti where the meat tastes like cardboard or something foreign. The meat they use in their meat sauce and for meatballs tastes like a legit burger that was chopped/crumbled up into ball shape! The spaghetti also came with 2 garlic breadsticks that weren't hard and were soft and super tasty. My friends got a meat lover's pizza, which was great! Just the right amount of crispy, soft, and chewy. We also got an order of friend onions and jalapenos as our appetizer that were excellent, too. Nothing was mushy and EVERYthing was cooked perfectly. Super friendly and quick wait staff. read more

Been going to this establishment since the 80s My mom and I personally knew Moffett unfortunately I came today tried to order the carry-out special the gentleman who took my order was rude and tried to charge me upwards of 7extra dollars just to add one more topping on the pizza saying the computer won't allow him to charge the 10.99 price....Moffett would just charge for the extra topping which was like 2$ The guys they have in here now are ridiculous and rude sorry to say but I guess I won't be coming back another Houston gem gone too bad customer service and inflation read more

Located in the Old Gabbys BBQ building. The atmosphere is nice, the place clean and the help friendly. However, beware of the food. I started with a hot wings appitizer. They came back heavily breaded and bathing in some sort of nasty hot/ sour bbq sauce tasting liquid. Nothing like hot wings I expected. I litterally ate only one bite. Then i ordered an original thin crust pizza. The toppings were good. Really quite good, but the crust ruined the experience for me. Nothing better than bread dough. If your Jonesin for a good pizza and wings meal, pass this place up and choose another. read more

When I was a kid, my parents used to bring my brother and I here on a regular basis mostly Sunday afternoons after church. I have the fondest memories of eating here with my family not just because we had a silly nickname for the place (Spank Me's!), but also because I remember how fantastic the food was. I probably honestly haven't been here in 20 years and I had a friend invite me to dinner the other day and brought up Spanky's as an option. I immediately jumped at the chance, as I have been wanting to go back ever since they rebuilt the restaurant after the old one burned down. When we arrived we had to park in the old parking lot because there were so many cars. It was Wednesday night and we could not figure out what was going on. When we walked in we thought we would have to wait but we got a table right away and realized that it was high school graduation which is why there were so many people there. Once we sat down I didn't even look at the menu I was so hungry I had already gone online and decided what I wanted. My friend took a few minutes to decide and then we sat there for a good five minutes before anybody came to our table. I'm not sure if the girl that came to our table was supposed to be our waitress or not (she made it seem like someone else was supposed to pick up the table) but once she greeted us and took our order she did a decent job. We ordered the Super Duper with a few modifications, and they got all of them right. When the pizza hit the table and I started to eat it I was hit with the realization that it tasted just as good as it did 20 years ago. Now that's saying a lot considering that most restaurants find success expand quickly and then start to scrimp on Quality to the detriment of the customers and eventually the business. That is not the case with this pizza place. I can hardly believe that I haven't been back here sooner. Everything was absolutely delicious the ice tea was perfect it was a fantastic meal the only reason I didn't give it five stars was because the service was a little bit slow but that could've been a direct correlation to the amount of people that were in there after graduation and maybe the restaurant wasn't prepared for that kind of rush on Wednesday night. By the way they do a special on Wednesday night that I believe is 10.99 for a large one topping pizza. That's a great deal especially considering how fantastic their pizza is. I love this place and I will definitely not wait 20 more years to come back! read more

Of all the variety of food we ordered the pickle that came with our philly cheese sandwich was the only item that was tasty. We live a block away but will never go there again and can not recommend it to anyone. I've heard that people go there to drink and then eat. Now I now why! And the worse part is that we paid to get an upset stomach ache all night. I have never written a review before but could not let this one go. Hope this helps! GOD BLESS! read more
