We were in town for the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting and decide to wander downtown to find lunch. The Spaghettiworks filled the niche of being affordable and tasty. The All You Can Eat Pasta Bowl is a bargain as you also get access to their unlimited salad bar. For lunch time, the place was not too crowded so we were seated quickly. The tables were clean. The pasta was good, but nothing to write home about. The sauces were tasty. Better than my elementary school lunch, but not as good as Olive Garden. Still, a hot meal and salad bar, are better than a cold sandwich on the convention floor. The white clam sauce was kinda like clam chowder on top of spaghetti. I suppose for this deep into the mid-west this is a thing? I dressed it up with lots of cheese and black pepper. We found the salad bar to be more interesting. Cheese curds were fun. The service was great very friendly people. The salad bar was fresh and clean. Thats where it ends. The pasta dishes were disgusting. I had the white cl sauce it was like glue with 4 clams and no flavor. My wife had the hot and naked. It had no flavor and you couldn't add enough salt. Garlic bread was not great. We stopped by downtown and saw this place across from Gather - I love gather but they don't open til 5. Went in and it's an older really cool building with a chuck wagon salad bar and everything from spaghetti to pizza. Ordered chicken parm and spaghetti and asked for the hot naked sauce. While waiting stopped at the salad bar which had everything you can think of on it. Once food arrived the sauce and spaghetti were really good. The chicken parm was good but nothing spectacular. Every time I have a layover here, I always end up visiting Spaghetti Works. The food has always hit the spot. Service is a bit slow but don't get me wrong, it's a very busy establishment. It is a bit noisy so bring some earplugs. :-) other than that, the food is excellent. read more

We came here at 4:40pm and there was already a long line at the hostess stand, but we were seated right away. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and my husband ordered the Italian Hot Pie. The Italian Hot Pie was spicy for sure, so be prepared for that! My husband loved it. The chicken parm was cooked well, it was crispy and covered in red sauce and cheese. It also came with a side of spaghetti. All of the entrees included the salad bar, as well as a side of garlic bread. The salad bar had a variety of ingredients and dressings, as well as some pasta salad. At $15.99 for each entree, I thought this was a pretty good deal. We also ordered the kid's cheese pizza and it came out in 5 minutes. We loved the fast service, especially when you have a hungry toddler with you! The restaurant is very casual and full of kids, so you don't have to worry about your own kids being too loud! This is not fine dining but it is a fine value. For $11.50 I was able to order a bowl of pasta with 2 sauces, garlic bread and a well stocked salad bar with unlimited refills on all the items. My fettuccini with white clam and spicy Italian sauces were not best in class but perfectly acceptable. The salad bar contained all my favorite items and a good thick Thousand Island dressing. The space is inside of an old renovated warehouse in The Old Market, so location and the charming décor only add to the experience. Oddly enough we were served by the same waiter that we had on my only other visit here 12 years prior. For location, value, longevity, maintaining a salad bar and fun atmosphere; I'm giving Spaghetti Works a guilty pleasure 5 star rating. read more

We had the worst experience here! Sat for over 20 min before a waitress even came to us and this was after we asked. Then took forever to get our drinks. When the food finally came we had one person who didn't get their food. The waitress was no where to be found so the rest of the table was done before she even got a plate. So in short, I think spaghetti Works is pretty much the very casual nothing fancy type of place which offers a great salad buffet. I'm being honest here. This is not the Spaghetti Works of 20 years ago. The portions are so much smaller and the food is not even that good. I wasn't expecting that when we decided. Waiter checked on us once. I think the problem here is they don't have enough waiters or waitresses to serve all the tables so they're already stretched thin. We got seated right next to a door that led to the patio that every time they went through it the door would slam so that didn't help for the ambience per se in the experience. Will I go there again? What is truly fascinating is the industrial pasta trend (spaghetti factory, warehouse, works, stockyard--wait that's not one.) For $10.95 you can eat endless pasta, filling the noodle shaped hole the cancelation of Olive Garden's never-ending pasta bowl left. Also included a salad bar in an old truck, though in my opinion there are too many weird ham salad or ambrosia type options. The wonton crispies were very good. I wish there was a more exotic lettuce blend, but again, $10.95. With your pasta you can also add toppings, both times I added sautéed button mushrooms to my first bowl, and despite the budget price, they were fresh mushrooms and not from can. At least I think they weren't? During my visits I tried the Cajun Alfredo, creamy pesto, beer cheese, and hot naked options. All served with Texas toast garlic bread. And with a variety of pasta shapes: spaghetti, fettuccine, farfalle, Angel hair, penne, and a whole grain rotini. If you've never been here, the old school vibes and location in the old market will probably have you thinking that this is an authentic Italian restaurant with above average spaghetti. But at that rate, I'd personally rather just save the money and make pasta at home, as the was the quality I felt I paid for. Good old Spaghetti Works. You can't say it isn't yummy! It's a staple in the Old Market area of Omaha and a place I've been to quite a few times. The price is great for what you get, but it's SO easy to overdo it. There weren't really any enforced COVID protocols in place, so that was a bit disappointing, but we were far enough away from other groups that it was okay. I've never had anything other than the unlimited pasta deal...because how could you order anything else...? But I'm sure that the rest of the menu is yummy as well.
