I was visiting Omaha for worm and stumbled upon this wonderful restaurat. The food is farm to table and some locally grown within the restaurant. It makes for a wonderful concept especially when you can see where you food is being grown. They have an amazing happy hour (food an drinks). To start I had the fries and a jalapeño margarita, both of which where very tasty. They definitely didnt skimp on fry proportions lol. I have the braised short rib for dinner. It was tender and well seasoned. The service was amazing. The food came out pretty quickly.These guys were very attentive and the staff seem to work so well as a team. Major shoutout to Ethan! Not only was he my bartender and waiter the day prior but today he walked my corporate card out to me that i had forgotten at the restaurant yesterday. We stopped in at Gather for a weeknight dinner. We had about a 5 minute wait for a table and went down to the basement to check out the hydroponic farm. It was impressive to see how they grow their greens in house! The restaurant was perfect for date night with lower lighting and clean, modern decor. We ordered the wagyu tartare appetizer and it was really delicious. For my entree I ordered the cauliflower salad with grilled chicken. It was really fresh and flavorful and featured greens from the hydroponic farm. It was a little bit smaller portion than I was expecting, with a small chicken breast, but it was amazing quality. We enjoyed our evening at Gather! The restaurant is a little higher price point, but the food quality was good. Everything we had was really fresh and well-sourced! Okay I've been to Gather about a dozen times and this was the first time I got the Thai Noodles and there were PHENOMENAL!! I'll be thinking about this for a long time. Perfect balance of flavors. Umami to keep you coming back. It's my new favorite on the menu! The cauliflower salad was also a star. Big chunks of cherries, couscous, house grown greens, cauliflower, and herbs all balanced into a flavor packed salad. Our waitress was excellent! She knew everything about the menu and very professional! You'll want a reservation on the weekends it gets really busy! I am constantly recommending Gather - both to locals and visitors. It's just the BEST! The staff always makes you feel welcomed and special. They've done such a great job with the menu...something for everyone, and always fresh and thoughtfully put together. Great drink menu too! Last time we were in they helped us find the perfect wine choice. Would highly recommend the front patio once the weather is nice - but the front window area is where we usually request to be (although popping in and sitting at the bar is fun too). We got the Brussels sprouts and I felt like they were a little lacking in salt. We ordered the pork ribeye and fries to share. The pork ribeye was SO GOOD. The sides on the plate were perfectly paired with the pork. The portion sizes of French fries and Brussels sprouts were large. We had an excellent dinner at Gather recently before going to the theater. We started with the Crispy Brussels sprouts and the burrata cheese. I'm pretty sure they made the burrata in house. For our mains we had the seared farro salmon and the parmesan cream gnocchi. Both were quite excellent, as were our cocktails. Service was great and attentive and the restaurant interior is very contemporary. All the greens came from their own basement hydroponic garden (which you can tour!). My husband, brother, and I had a delicious meal here on Fourth of July prior to the downtown orchestra and fireworks. We had made reservations ahead and there was no wait time. The restaurant was very busy, but the service was definitely on point! I got the Peach Sevyn-Five and unfortunately it was not very flavorful. I was hoping for it to be like a French 75, but it fell a little flat. I did try my brother's cilantro margarita, however, and THAT was absolutely fantastic! If you like cilantro, definitely give this a try. It's not very strongly cilantro, but you definitely get the flavor and delicious. For our meal, we shared the crispy Brussels and the spring burrata for starters and the creamy asparagus gnocchi and the Thai noodles for the entrees and truly everything was exceptional. my favorites were the burrata and the gnocchi, but I would so happily eat all of it again! We did get the chocolate torte to go and enjoyed it in the park. It was rich, chocolatey, and fudgy. We got one to share since we were pretty full but quickly realized I could've probably eaten the whole torte myself! Also make sure you check out the urban farm in the basement! read more

I've been to gather a few times, and I've always had a great experience. They have seating on the front patio of the restaurant, the back patio, and inside. The service has always been fast, and the staff give good guidance with the menu. The dishes always have unique flavors that make the dining experience so much more fun. Downstairs, they have an area where you can view their vegetables growing which is very cool to see. They have really delicious cocktails as well. Most recently, I had the chicken and waffles, which had a great combination of sweet, savory, and spicy. I also loved the mushroom appetizer (I can't remember the name), it had a vinegar taste with chili oil and cured egg yolks. I'm tempted to order that dish as my main the next time I'm there. We ordered the kimchi bao buns and the pork belly was SO good, it basically melted in your mouth, the preparation was perfect and paired well with the kimchi flavor. I had a drink with basil in it which was easy to drink and super yummy. This will continue to be a regular spot for me when I visit Omaha. read more

I especially enjoyed the gnocchi with the creamy pesto sauce (which wasn't wasted!). And everything was served to us by a wonderful waitress. Jubilation! I get to write the kind of review I so rarely do: a glowing endorsement of a restaurant worth its jarring price tag. One glance over the online menu will put doubt in even an adventurous heart but dear readers let me assure you that this is the spot you need to take everyone you know to. Grow Omaha allows you to experience fresh from the farm produce right in the metro by converting its entire basement into a vertical garden. This place is viewable by guests at any time and the only reason I didn't add a picture is because even a photo sells it short. Even in its burgeoning state this model is a breathtaking vision of the future of hospitality and food preparation. I do the restaurant staff a disservice by gushing over the visionary kitchen plan when the cuisine itself was so remarkable. I went with a very modest Bolognese and had my expectations surpassed in every way. Handmade broad noodles, a robust and textured pomodoro cacciatore (to call it marinara would be unjust, not a whiff of anchovy anywhere) and the such splendid elk meat that I vowed never to to try and make it myself again. I had a blueberry cheesecake slice for dessert that did not survive long enough to be photographed, mostly because my compatriot and I couldn't stop telling each other how exemplary the meal was. It often takes a bit of time to find a metered parking spot in the downtown area, so you may want to be prepared to walk a few blocks from the restaurant. They have outdoor patio seating or indoor seating. The urban farm basil smash cocktail was good and refreshing, but came in a small glass. For an entree I had the macadamia nut crusted cobia and a friend had the wagyu faltiron. Both of our meals came out lukewarm and were pretty average to say the least. Oh my goodness!! This was such a lovely date night! First we were welcomed with smiles into a spacious, clean and inviting establishment! I did not think it would be so big. We sat at the bar and Chelsea gave us the best service and wonderful recommendations! We started with the pork buns and wagyu tartare. The pork buns had great flavor but the tartare was amazing! I enjoyed the bacon fried egg on top more than I thought and the caper shallot relish was a game changer! For entrees we got the PORCINI DUSTED COBIA* (white fish) and WAGYU FLATIRON* (gf) with a side of SIDE OF ZA'ATAR ROASTED BABY CARROTS (gf). The cobia was delightful and light. I recommend making sure you get a bite of the fish, couscous and sauce each time. It blends together perfectly and makes each bite! The wagyu was cooked magnificently and I am always a huge fan for chimichurri! The broccoli and elote were the perfect sides to the plate! The za'atar carrots had the perfect cook and crunch! We obviously had to go with Chelsea's favorite dessert as well. Ending the night with the CARAMEL APPLE CHEESECAKE. If you don't try this you are out of your mind! I've been to Gather a couple of times and I am just so in love with it as a whole. It's easy to understand why it's become a beloved staple in the old market area & Omaha in general! The food and drink menu is vast and there really is something for everyone on the menu. Their fresh ingredients are made in house and grown in the basement! You can actually taste the difference. What an absolute gem of a place! We were walking through Old Market and this restaurant caught our attention for its "farm fresh" promotion and had no other idea about what to expect. We were able to get a seat pretty quickly and explored the garden downstairs while they prepared our table, which was beautiful to see. I love that they let us see the fresh produce they grow and use in our meals. Our server was very kind and thoughtful. She checked in with us regularly and was on top of making sure we were cared for. The fried chicken mac n cheese was incredible. It had fresh pickled onions and fresno chilies to help cut through the richness of the mac n cheese and heartiness of the fried chicken. It was everything I want in a meal: well-balanced, flavorful, and mixed textures. I'm already excited to return to Omaha to eat here again. Definitely must try while you're in Old Market! read more

I've been here about a half dozen times. They've been open a while now and typically I see restaurants start to slip in various ways but the opposite is true here. Service was great, ambience is always positive, creative menu, and really fresh wonderful dishes. The Cobia with couscous grapes and whipped feta had good flavor, but they're almost seem to be too much going on in that dish. Probably would not get that again. The Elk Bolognese was rich and flavorful and the red wine flavors in the sauté came through perfectly. I had fried chicken and Mac and cheese or maybe the second time but it was fantastic! One of the better fried chicken dishes I've had. A visit to the herb growing room in the basement is always worth the trip. Decided to stop here on a road trip as per the recommendation of a friend. 'Go to the place that grows stuff onsite,' she said. 'I can't remember the name.' Well the name is Gather, and it was definitely a nice experience. Sat at the bar around the end of happy hour, and service was thoughtful and pretty attentive (aside from a moment when the bar was slammed with an order for like 25 pinkish specialty cocktails). As per the guidance of the bartender I got the pork shank. (I was debating another entree but she very honestly told me it was a newer dish that got a few mixed reactions, so I pivoted.) I got a very flavorful and tender side salad to start, (all those freshly trimmed greens certainly make a difference), and the shank itself did not disappoint. Fall off the bone, and wonderfully paired with the sauces and other accoutrements. I will say the main dining area was pretty bustling (loud); I realized later just how sprawling the restaurant was, and that there was an outdoor section on the side of the building that I likely would've preferred. That said a fun place with solid food and solid people. And definitely check out the "garden" below! read more

I was excited to try Gather in Omaha during a brief visit to the city to experience the nighttime ambiance of the historical Old Market district, which features a seemingly endless array of well-preserved historic warehouses. Despite being located in the steak capital of the country, they have a serviceable veggie burger on offer. Started out with the pork buns. Soft pillowy buns stuffed with meat and red pepper. Good combination of sweet and heat. Caviar and tots for the next appetizer. Delicious. Fancy tots dotted with caviar came of tasting like salty potato chips. Kinda like the Dave Chang potato chip and caviar combo. For the entree I got the elk bolognese. I honestly could stop the review at, "they grow their own herbs in the hydroponic room you can check out and they locally source their meats." But what fun is that? We showed up at Gather because I'm one of ~those people~ who's against seed oils and they don't use them allegedly. Our waiter was friendly enough and we got our food pretty quickly. My wife ordered their burger which comes with fries and I got the wagyu flatiron. The burger was great. The beef was notably well seasoned and the fries were also phenomenal. I didn't like the orange sauce it came with on the side but doesn't really make or break the dish. The steak was also very well seasoned and the chimichurri was awesome. I ordered the steak medium-rare like everyone should, and while it came out much more rare than medium, it was still good. My only other minor complaint with the steak was that there wasn't a very prominent crust on the outside which was a bummer. The steak came with broccolini (fire) and elote (also fire). Overall, the food tasted really good even if it wasn't "perfect". Great spot for a more upscale date night. read more

I like the location, and I think it has potential, but I also found it slightly off putting that for that price point they had tvs above the bar. Since I touched down in Nebraska I kept seeing ads for this place so I decided to make a visit and boy was it good. Started with the red blend wine and the gather mule which was very refreshing. The service was fast and she even took a few pictures for us the check came in a little book so cute. The place has art work all over the place and really catches your eye. Dimly lit sets quite the mood for any type of night. The Mediterranean plate was absolute fire. All of the parings messed so well really enjoyed the basil pesto, only thing I would add is more naan the portion seemed off. We shared the truffle pasta, which had plenty of mushrooms and gave the dish more depth. The green room downstairs was so cool to see where produce comes from.
