Was a VERY cold night when we stopped in for a dinner. Been almost 2 years since we were here. The place had few customers as it was a weeknight and cold with a strong wind. Even on the other side of the room could feel virtually every time the door opened for someone to go in and out. Service was OK and so was the food. If you want really great Italian this isn't really the place. BUT, if it is 'good' food and a comfortable setting, very family friendly plus reasonable prices...THEN this is the right place. Still solid after many years in same place. This was especially true as 2 places we really enjoy going to and have for years have started going downhill. Quality isn't as good, portions are obviously smaller and the prices have gone up....Why do good places do this, cut portions, raise prices and the food isn't as good....Then wonder why they are slowly going out of business??? read more

Not the best option for a good time The Good: We enjoyed our endless pasta. The different variations and options were delicious. The salad bar was nice as well. We were served to be compliant with Omaha's Covid regulations. The Bad: Upon arrival there were 3 hostesses standing around of which none of them greeted or welcomed us at all. They were too busy talking to each other. I had to initiate the conversation to let them know how many is in our party. One of them looked up and then turned her head to the next and we waited for another minute or 2 before one of them finally decided to grab menus and seated us still without any signs of hospitality :( our waitress seemed to either be over-worked as she had the whole outside seating to take care of. She had nice words to say to us but seemed rushed and her body language was coming across as annoyed. We hope she has a better day and not so stressful. The Ugly Truth: We really enjoy eating here as we enjoy the meals; however the service seems to get worse every time. The staff doesn't care about the customers and that makes it for a mediocre experience. Maybe it's a management issue, not being able to create a positive atmosphere. Either way there are many Italian style restaurant options in Omaha and we will be sure to explore them next to see if we can have a great experience with a delicious meal read more

There were gnats swarming our table the entire meal. My spaghetti tasted like it had been sitting for far too long. We brought our elderly parents and their friends. The staff insisted on seating us upstairs which then required us to walk them up and down stairs to get our salads. It was not a particularly busy Wednesday night. The order for my wife's pizza was incorrect. So we had to wait 15 minutes for a remake of that. I had to wait well over 20 minutes for a refill on my ice tea. One way they could reduce cost and save some money would be to reduce their bus staff. I saw a young lady standing adjacent to a table for a better part of an hour literally doing nothing. NOTHING. Two other young men walks back-and-forth at least 20 times with NOTHING in their hand and apparently doing nothing at either end of their journey. The food was decent. The service was disappointing. Watching young people learn the lesson of they can literally stand around or walk around and do nothing and get paid for it was the most disappointing part of the evening. The older staff were the hardest (only) working employees in the building. Stop wasting your money on high school kids if you're not going to get some actual labor effort out of them. They need to learn that WORK is what they're getting paid for. And we just realize my wife ordered the personal size pizza and we were charged for the large size pizzas so there's a another $5 dollars wasted on a pizza of it was made in correctly to begin with Dropping from two stars down to one. read more

When you see a place called Spaghetti Works and you can smell the garlic bread from outside.... you go in. The bottomless pasta is kind of an insane concept but an awesome value for the price. You get the salad bar, bottomless pasta, soft drinks and garlic bread. The make all of their soft drinks which was a really charming touch. I really loved the cream soda. It's decent quality food and was just a nice, fun find for people who were visiting the area and didn't know where to eat. Wait staff was wonderful and the decor was awesome. No it's not the most quality Italian food, but the food is great (and bottomless), the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is really unique. It's been literally about 15 years since we were this way for a Spaghetti Works experience. THEY HAVE GF RAVIOLI!! I was amazed! We even got refills of regular GF pasta with the creamy pesto - I'm still thinking of going back another night! In from Denver visiting my sister and her boyfriend. We come here thinking it must be decent as it's in a cute area and looked inviting from the outside. Upon walking in it was definitely a gimmicky little spot with some dated quirky furnishings. Cute inside from first glance. We approach the hostess and it was a younger gal, she was extremely rude, she had us awkwardly standing there for 5 minutes while she waited for a table in an empty restaurant, all whilst rolling her eyes the whole time. We get to our table and noticed how dirty and sticky the table and chairs were. The table next to us has piles and piles of dishes with food just sitting there. There's no one clearing tables or bussing them. Our waitress comes immediately and had a super unfriendly vibe and no personality, try's taking our food order immediately and we literally just sat down. She leaves comes back again a minute later and we had to send her away again so we could actually look at the menu without interruption. She comes back we order and she tell her the salad bars included enjoy and walks off. Never makes eye contact with us at all during any interaction (just an odd strange little bird). Salad bar is clean and has a lot of offerings so I add a star for it. Hard to mess up a salad bar and I will say I am super glad they offered it because I would have otherwise left hungry and disappointed. Which leads me to the food... I had the white clam pasta, sister had the pesto cream and her bf had the chicken Parmesan. It was by far the worst pasta I have ever had at a restaurant. The sauce on my food was super thick and generic tasting. No flavor whatsoever. Overall gross! I tried adding salt to get flavor, Parmesan cheese, chili flakes... nothing would help this dish. Just horrible. My sisters food same problem, flavorless and gross. Her boyfriend ate the chicken and left the pasta untouched. The frozen garlic bread was a weird touch as well. Again I am so glad for the salad bar! As we paid our check in sheer disappointment and reluctance, our waitress mumbled "see you again next time". My sister looked at me and whispered "there will never be a next time". No, no there will not In response to Shelly, it seems to me that your staff has you fooled and they don't care to work when a manager or owner is not present. I invite you to observe their behavior and laziness for yourself one evening when they think no one is looking. I write honest reviews and this review is nothing short of honest. Spaghetti Works has been an Omaha staple for as long as I can remember so that's probably why I never wrote about it. While we don't go here monthly, we do eat here quite often. We like the variety of sauces and pastas. Over the years they've also added other types of entrées. I usually order marinara sauce with bowtie pasta. Bookguy almost always gets a plate with three different sauces including beer cheese, red clam, and Alfredo. He prefers traditional spaghetti noodles. When he's finished with that he gets another plate with hot naked. I think that's one reason why he likes it here -- he can eat as much as he wants. On our most recent visit, everything was just as good as always. The salad bar was fully stocked with the usual lettuce, coleslaw, potato salad, macaroni salad, and various vegetables to go on the lettuce. I like to put the fried shoestring potatoes on my salad. It reminds me of when I was a kid. We also got a very tasty basket of garlic bread which was refilled. There are cocktails, wine and beer offerings from them bar and on this visit I had a nice Merlot while Bookguy asked for a raspberry Coke. We usually don't get dessert here- the pasta fills us up quite nicely, thank- you. If you want dessert, there are several to choose from. With all the pasta varieties and sauces plus the add -on toppers like meatballs and the other entrees such as pizza and lasagna, you could have something different for dinner for years to come. Service was good and the patio is perfect! I could sit on their patio for hours. The food was decent. Salad bar was mediocre. We had the club and an individual chicken Alfredo spinach pizza. I will say their definition of individual and mine are different. I split this dish with another person and we still had leftovers. The fries that came with the club are the kind of wavy fries that come on school lunch trays. So again, the food was decent overall. I would go there again for the patio. I can't say enough how pleasant is was sitting there-would be good for happy hour for a group. read more

Unlimited Salad Bar!!! If you're looking for a fancy Italian restaurant, this is not your place. This is where you get solid Italian food in a casual setting for about $10 a person. Nothing fancy, nothing elaborate, a great place to eat at right before your flight. I've been here once before a few years ago and I'm pretty sure I ordered the same thing. I had the unlimited pasta now with penne and pesto cream! Basic carby deliciousness. The pesto cream is delicious, very cream, but could use a touch more salt. I had some of my boyfriend's pasta with the spicy marinara and it was good as well. Their spicy Italian sausage is excellent too with a good kick. I do love their salad bar. The keep it stocked and there a a dozen topping to choose from. Their pasta salad is also excellent. Nothing that screamed: fresh and delicious! The entrees were a disappointment. My husband ordered the lasagna and did not finish half of it, which is saying something with this guy. You would think that with a basic menu the options offered would be outstanding. Quite the contrary. The Cajun style pasta with shrimp should have been full of bold, creole inspired flavors, but instead it tasted bland and lacking the something that says: take another bite, this is what you've been waiting for. My child's spaghetti and butter had a more interesting flavor profile. Speaking of: you are spaghetti works. Why can't you at least make a delicious meatball? It took 10 minutes for a waitress to get to my table, where I ordered my water. I also arrived with a party of 7, just to keep in mind that I understand the wait for some of my items. My honest reviews of Spaghetti Works Sauces Meat sauce- Bow tie Pasta: Watery sauce. Weak flavor. Bow tie was al dente. Could use more basil or seasonings. 6/10 Spicy Marinara- Bow tie Pasta: Very good. Strong flavors of basil and tomato. After taste of tolerable amount of spice. 8/10 Red Clam Sauce- Bow tie Pasta: Pretty strong flavor. A little salty. Again, an after taste of spice, where my Minnesota palette was not overwhelmed. 8/10 Chili Sauce- Bow tie Pasta Sleeper pick honestly. I ordered just to get some more protein. Expected a weak flavor watery consistency but was thick, flavorful, and filling. 7/10 I would recommend this restaurant 7/10, it's ok, but also cost efficient. I had a 5 star experience during my visit at Spaghetti Works last month. Unsure where to eat, it started to rain so we hopped inside to check the menu. While at first I was very skeptical, the cool truck/salad bar told me to give this place a try. I'm very happy that I did. Place: the place is quite large with high ceiling and brick walls filled with signs, photos, and trinkets. Server: Our server solely made my experience the 5 star rating it is. Her name is Allison. Very pleasant and kind, made us feel like we were in her home. She gave us good attention and kept us entertained, while giving us enough space and privacy to enjoy our meal and converse. Would return with hopes to have her again as our server. Food: I ordered the Cajan Shrimp Fettuccine which includes salad bar as well as the spinach dip appetizer. The spinach dip app is on point and is a must get. There was 3 of us and it was the perfect size. Food wasn't absolutely amazing but very enjoyable. Shrimp were small, but flavor was there.
