I received a gift card to Spa Noir and was very excited to finally put it to use! My first impression was not so good. This is because I called about 5 times in the span of 2 days (and left a message) nobody answered and no one ever called me back. The third day, someone finally answered and I was able to book an appointment for the following day. I went in for a 75minute massage with Kimberly. Before we got started, she wanted to know what I was looking for and a little about my body, which was very comforting. This was the best massage I had ever gotten. When I go back, I am definitely requesting Kimberly, again. Spa Noir is located in-between a bar and a tattoo shop. The walls are super thin. I was able to hear the bass of the music from the tattoo shop. Along with things dropping and cabinets closing. So it is not the peaceful spa I have been too. I walked in here on a Saturday morning at 11 to get a massage from Melissa. I was quite happy with the appointment process where I called to inquire if I could get a same day appointment and was given one. Melissa did an excellent job at finding all the muscle knots, doing a few tricks to help relax my fatigues shoulders(bad posture there) and also played some great music in the background. This spa is not over the top fancy but quite real and efficient and sort of more contemporary and fun. The playlist I was referring to is a compilation of the music that people who work in the spa like. The pressure put by Melissa was just right and if you are looking for something delicate, this is not what you will get. I almost fell asleep towards the end due to how relaxed I felt. Before I left, I was talking to Melissa about available facials as I badly needed one. She spoke to the receptionist and viola I got another same day appointment as someone had cancelled. The massage was with Jessica who used these amazing Eminence products from Hungary. They not only smell awesome but feel so good on your skin. Spa Noir is one of the first salons in the country to use and sell their products. My skin feels wonderful and it's been more than a week. Jessica also gave me several samples and I bought a night cream that is doing wonders to the magic she worked on my skin. Already scheduled my next with her. Thanks to Amy and Jessica for helping with ideas, being flexible, organized, and prompt on all of our correspondence -everything went seamless! We were able to book the entire spa for the bachelorette party! While some girls were getting treatments others were catching up over snacks I was able to bring in! We could giggle and talk about whatever we wanted because we had the whole place to ourselves! I even brought in a taro reader! It was a blast! Jessica has been my go to manicurists (shellac) and eyebrow waxer for the past year. I get my nails done about every two weeks and I always look forward to seeing Jessica and of course Amy, one of her amazing receptionists. Jessica is extremely talented and knowledgable, and on top of that she is very welcoming, personable and easy to chat with. I love the variety of colors and have tried almost all of them. The shellac lasts two weeks, but I have definitely pushed the limit and made it work for an entire month, not ideal, but I can vouch that it did last. Spa Noir offers a ton of great services and I have treated myself to the majority of them - massage, facial, mani, pedi, waxing...the list goes on. I agree with some other reviews that the music can be a bit distracting because it's such a random mix, but it is a nice change from the wooden flutes you get everywhere else. CJ is amazing, I have gotten waxing & facials services from her and only her for about 3 years now. Facials are wonderful as I have always had troubled skin and the products that she uses on me are tailored to what she knows my skins needs. (always a plus that the massage that goes with it is killer!) She is always giving me samples of products before I buy them so I can see if it works for me or not. CJ is not only a good at what she does with her magic hands but she always remembers my birthday and has gotten me little gifts as well. who does that!!!???? This woman is amazing. So I was working close to here for a couple weeks and I was in pinched nerve hell from golfing. I mean I was so hurt I was in serious pain. I was reading reviews on Spa Noir, getting ready to write my own, and realized that I already did -- three years ago. Time for an update! Three years and a 3,000 mile move later, I am STILL going to Spa Noir. I absolutely love this place. Every time I'm back in Seattle, booking time with CJ is at the top of my to-do list. CJ is a total master of her craft and I can't say enough good things about her. She has taken the time to learn my skin, and it has never looked better than when it's under her care :). After four years with the Spa, coming in after time away is like seeing friends. Jessica, Amy and Sinclair are such great girls. I'm often bringing in my boyfriend or best friend at the last minute for some service at the same time as mine, and they have always been welcoming and accommodating. I'm not certain why it has taken me so long to write a review about my beloved Spa Noir. I've been coming here for a looooong time, so it's definitely time now. I come to the spa once a month for a mani/pedi (maybe throw in a facial if I feel like being spoiled) and every 6 weeks for waxing. The owner Jessica is wonderfully AMAZING and always smiling. Our conversations always pick up exactly where we left off the previous month. She's always picking out great color combos for me to try on my nails - I'm an admitted 'fraidy cat when it comes to polish, but have broadened my horizons thanks to her. She also does great facials - my skin glows and is spot free after seeing her. I see CJ for waxing and can't imagine ever letting anyone else near my eyebrows! She has tamed my eyebrows impeccably over the last few years. I get compliments often on her handiwork. She's also sweet as pie, which doesn't hurt! And then there is Amy. Ahhh, Amy! She is the lovely ray of sunshine that greets me when I enter the spa. She's always very quick to offer tea, water, chocolates, anything to make you feel that much more special. And she makes gorgeous necklaces that are sold in the spa. I adore her! If you're looking for a place to get pampered, you should definitely try Spa Noir. After waking up yesterday with the worst kink in my shoulder blade, I thought it was imperative that I get into see a massage therapist ASAP! I called Spa Noir after finding them via a Google search and was pleasantly surprised that they could get me in for a 60-minute massage; SCORE! Also, they have a coupon on their website for $20 off any $80 or more service when calling/booking the same day! Double score! When I arrived at Spa Noir, the front desk woman was very sweet and offered me water or tea. I didn't have to wait very long for Kelleen to come out (she was my massage therapist). And please let me tell you that Kelleen was AMAZING!! No joke here. She listened to exactly where my pain point was and asked if she would like me to have her focus on any other areas; I told her specifically the neck/back/shoulder area. A+ for Kelleen! Great salon! I got a Brazilian wax and it was very happy with my experience. I was in a bind and needed a last minute appointment and the receptionist was able to fit me in. Heidi was my technician and she was very gentle and didn't miss anything. She was very respectful the whole time. The ambience of the rooms is very nice and made the wax more enjoyable. I was looking for a good, fun, affordable spa for AGES and when my friend recommend spa noir, the search was over. Alyson rocks my world. Whether it's a fun waxing or a soothing facial, she always brings something extra special to each service. I never once have gotten an ingrown hair since I've been waxed by her. I do boylesque and she got my once hairy and blemished hindquarter smooth and clear. I would not be able to wear a thong in front of an audience if it weren't for her. She has been such an inspiration, I am now in school to become an esthetician as well. I stopped in today for a massage and facial. I'm traveling and wanted to pamper myself a bit. I've never done spa service before, this was the first time I've had either service done. I made a last minute appointment the day of. First things first you walk in to a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I got all checked in with no problems. Becca met me to take me back for my massage. I only asked for a 30 minute, not knowing what to expect. Even though it was a very short massage and not full body, she made sure to hit the key points I was concerned about. I really wish I had sprung for the hour. She was informative and explained everything to me in detail, and gave me great suggestions for when I returned home from traveling. Next I had Frannie for my facial. I have eczema, and she was able to find products that make my skin look and feel amazing. She also was very engaging and helpful the entire time. I may not know what to expect as far as massage and facials go, but I was beyond pleased here. Spa Noir was great! I went for a one-hour massage with Megan. I run and do yoga, so I was more interested in a massage that would really work my muscles and help loosen them up. That's exactly what I got, and Megan did an excellent job of finding the knots and working them out, even though I hadn't told her exactly where my trouble spots were beforehand. It's a great laid-back place that's perfect for those of us who love to relax once in a while but aren't as into the whole fluffy-towel, New-Age spa experience. Definitely edgier than that, in a good way. Like some of the other posters, I too appreciated the fact that they play actual music. And as an added bonus, they offer a 10% discount if you rebook a massage while you're there. Can't wait to go back! Wanted to add that I have kept going back, and that Kelleen is great if you're there for a massage. It felt a little sore after the massage, but Amira had already cautioned me that that was likely going to happen given that she had worked quite a bit on my upper back and shoulders. As I got out of the shower last night, I noticed for the first time in I don't remember how many years, my shoulders and upper back were pain free! OMG, Amira's hands are just magical. It's unbelievably amazing and I can't wait for my next one with her in two weeks. Don't bother unless you want a mediocre "massage". One star for the decent receptionist and one star for the nice masseuse. I booked about 1.5 wks prior to my trip to seattle for a prenatal massage (30wks in). And wanted a 75 min massage, but after some miscommunication/confusion, i just booked a 60 min massage . Got there about 5mins before my 4pm appt, receptionist was nice and was offered a drink. Filled out paperwork, and then was told the masseuse was running a little behind. Which was fine, I had just flew in from a 6 hr flight that morning, I had no plans but to relax. About 10 after, i met with the masseuse, she seemed nice and asked me a few questions to clarify my paperwork (normal procedure). She leads me into the room and i asked...we are clear, that I am here for a prenatal massage, correct? Mind you, i get massages every 2 wks during pregnancy, and this is my second child, so i know how this works. And she continues saying that we are doing it sidelined. Which i continue to reply, ok, that's fine...i was just not asked whether i wanted to have a sidelined massage or not, nor was that mentioned to me prior that, that was what was planned for me. Fine, whatever, i just need a rub. She heads out, i get situated. And during the entire massage time, i could hear music from nearby businesses...the massage felt like she was just legit rubbing my body with lotion a few times. There was no massaging...it was like a rough caressing. I also have sciatic pain, which i mentioned, and she did work on that, but it was very short lived. She ran "lotion" down both my arms and rans her hands down my arm like 3 times and that was it for that. Same for my legs and feet. Then she puts a warm towel on my face and tells me our session is over. When she leaves, i look over at the clock and it was 10 mins before 5pm. I get dresses anyway. Go out and was asked by the receptionist how the massage was. And i said it was ok. She said tell me more. So i asked her...does the massage "timer" start when i walk into the building? She looks at the time...and then has a confused face and said no, it starts when the massage starts and then says "yea, that's weird, she finished early". I then proceeded to tell her, that i felt like i didn't get a massage, it just felt like she just put lotion all over my body. Then she tries to make it right and offers to charge me for 45 mins ($75), instead of the 60mins ($100), and says "will that make you happy?" No, it doesn't and it didn't. Cause i could just got a much better one elsewhere and saved my time and energy. I didn't want to tip either cause i was just annoyed at this time (and i don't get annoyed easily). But i ended up tipping the masseuse (who was in the back), $10 cash anyway. read more

Love this place. Great, albeit atypical for a spa, music. Awesomely friendly, in a totally down-to-earth way, staff. And of course, the most important, fantastic services. I have had a few facials from Constance, and a massage from Deja. Deja used really personal techniques that I had never had from a massage before, and still paid perfect attention to what I had listed as problem areas. Constance was fantastic at explaining steps of the facial to me, and didn't try to sell me on every product at the end (I hate that!). She did, however, recommend taking a probiotic for my systemic acne that we discussed (I've done Accutane twice, and every other prescription in the book before that) in order to treat the source of the problem, not the symptoms. It has absolutely helped me. I imagine after seeing her a few more times, I'll be in the clear (haha?). I was tempted to keep this place to myself, but since others have already let the cat out of the bag, I figured I should add my endorsement as well. I recently planned a Spa day as the finale to a bachelorette weekend. It was a great experience as we were able to have the spa to ourselves (5 of us) and each got to choose our own treatments. The party package is an awesome feature. We were also able to bring in our own snacks and drinks to add to the festivities. I really enjoyed working with Jessica and Amy on planning out my event details. They were easy to talk with and friendly. I was a bit nervous about choosing Spa Noir but the Yelp reviews encouraged me to move forward with the decision. I won a gift certificate to Spa Noir over a year ago and finally got around to using it last week. It was for a 40 minute organic facial. After a few rescheduled appointments, the day finally came. I had mentioned that I would like an earlier appointment when I confirmed, but I didn't expect them to remember that on the day of my appointment! Amy called me to let me know they could take me earlier if I still wanted that. Yes I did! Very attentive. I don't get a lot of facials, so I don't have much for comparison, but I really enjoyed the procedure. It was relaxing and soothing, and I learned a little bit about my skin from Constance. It was just the right amount of time too at 40 minutes. Any shorter and it wouldn't have felt worth it, but too much longer and I might have gotten restless. The retail price for this service (if you don't have a gift certificate) is $60, which I also think is reasonable. Apart from that, the building is in Belltown so it's like an urban oasis. The rain was pouring hard on the roof while I was on the table and I had to ask Constance if it was a CD of rain or real. I definitely noticed a difference in my skin the next day. This spa was very customer service oriented and special ...it started with making the appointment and fitting us in, greeting us warmly and making us feel comfortable when we arrived. I got to have the facial first, and it was one of the best facials I've ever had, followed by a great great body scrub & massage. I'll be back for sure. This might need to be a monthly treat for me. I came to Spa Noir for the last Tuesday specials and stayed for the great staff and lovely aesthetic. Originally, I was lured in by the idea of a comfortable and reasonably priced spa that was open late and not painfully bright and sterile. Both their original and new spaces are comfortably dark and elegant. I've seen both Alyson and Jessica for brow and lash work and Kelleen for massages and always been pleased with the results. Like any spa, I find it's important to make it clear what you want out of the treatment, be it lighter tinting, deep massage, or a certain brow shape, but if you don't they'll always err on side of caution. Their last Tuesday deals are unbeatable and if you rebook right after your service on other days, you get 10% off the next time you come in. There's also a pre-payment deal mentioned on their website where if you pre-pay for five sessions the sixth is free, but I've never taken them up on that. For the quality I've found their prices difficult to beat in Seattle. Oh, and they get extra points for letting me bring my bike in so I don't have to worry about finding somewhere to lock it up on the street. Being able to come in for something and not have to worry about taking off all of my lights and finding a place I can lock up both my wheels and frame takes a load off my mind. read more

She listens to your body and gives you a relaxing massage that also make your mussels and whole body fantastic. The one thing that I love that Monica does is stretches your limbs while she is massaging you to ensure your body gets the most benefit out of the message. Earlier this week, I surprised my husband with a message and facial. He works very hard and long hours and has been having lower back and shoulder pain for some time. Excited that he would enjoy a little pampering and relief that he very much deserves but would never do for himself, I brought him to Spa Noir with high expectations based on the reviews. He enjoyed his facial with Heidi who was wonderful, but when I asked how his massage was he said "that massage was worthless". I was disappointed to hear that instead of a therapeutic massage for his back problems with deep pressure which he requested, he received a gentle relaxation massage which is not what he needed. There was little communication during the appointment from the masseuse to make sure he's getting the treatment he needed. I suspect that she may be less experienced. I felt it was a sad waste of time and $100. read more

I've been going to Alyson for what can only be described as an eff-load of waxing since I moved to Seattle (Ugh, Seattle...but that's another story) but that's not all she does. I highly encourage everyone who saw the old location & ran, or who gave a negative review for location-related issues instead of spa-related experiences to come back for a glimpse of the new Spa Noir. The new location maximizes the minimal & amps up the boudoir-appeal which makes the spa experience less sterile & more sexy. While on a getaway trip to Seattle, I scheduled a massage and facial with Spa Noir and they lived up to every 5-star review here! Tanner gave me an amazing massage. He was wonderful and did a great job tailoring my massage to my requests. Usually you fill out paperwork with a waiver prior to treatment, but you're not sure they actually read them; this was NOT the case at Spa Noir! Jessica changed my facial from something that I had chosen from the menu months prior to my appointment to a hybrid treatment that accomplished my goals. It was amazing and offered the perfect combination of cleansing and relaxation I was looking for - and my skin needed! She even suggested a change to my routine to help my skin even more. My only complaint is that I live on the other side of the country, but I am sending my Seattle local friend to Spa Noir and you better believe I'll be back whenever I make my way back to the PNW! read more

Start with the positive: I had two massages at spa noir because I received a gift certificate. Both gals were very nice and did not try to hold a conversation during my massage (which surprisingly is not a given to many massage therapists). That's about where the positive ends. The spa is right next to a bar and has paper thin walls. I could hear the bass dropping throughout my massage. But that was nothing compared to the actual music playing in the rooms. All of the rooms have the same music, so don't think you can request a change. The music was fast paced with high pitched signing- i.e. the least relaxing ambiance one could hope for when getting a massage. Apparently they pride themselves on the fact that they don't play the same style music as most massage places-- this "unique" ambiance should be revisited immediately.
