I love Spa Nail! When I moved back home to Memphis, I took to Yelp to find a good nail salon. This looked great and is near my apartment, so I decided to go. First of all, they have more colors than I have ever seen in a nail salon! Initially, I was disappointed that it wasn't OPI (for gel nails) but honestly, I don't miss it and don't know if I will ever go back to OPI shellac. For regular polish, they have plenty of OPI options so have no fear! They have a lot of "MATCH" colors, which they have in gel and in regular polish so you can have a matching mani pedi. Every single time I get my nails done, someone will comment about how pretty the color is or how well they were done... they really do a great job. I have been going every 3-4 weeks (yeah, the gel lasts THAT long) since August. The manicure is relaxing and fairly quick but they do not rush and will NOT let you leave with a smudge or streak. I am in love with their pedicure. They use a natural product line and for $10 more, you can get a scented essential oil soak and an extended massage (and probably a few other things I'm forgetting to mention). Even the regular pedicure is so worth it though. This includes: exfoliation of feet/ calves, hot towel, massage with a cooling gel, and lotion, and of course painting the nails perfectly! The massage chairs are also incredible and I leave feeling so refreshed. Lastly, the girls there are so sweet. When I walk in someone says, "Hi Catherine! How was work today?" and will ask if I want the gel mani and a pedi, as usual. It is so nice to go somewhere and be remembered; they even remember details about my life and will ask how my parents or boyfriend are doing, which shows how caring they are! I have tried other nail salons in Memphis and nothing compares. If you are in midtown, head to Spa Nail and thank me later! read more

Employees are rude to customers waiting and coming in. Barely speak to you in English and have an attitude. Sit on the floor to do your nails. Laughs when you ask a question. We are visiting in town for a wedding from Chicago and we know good nail places and this isn't it. Would never settle for this at home. They also charge $2 extra just to cut your nails. read more

The customer service is really what gives this place an edge. It's a little pricey- $35 for a pedicure (this is the one they recommend with organic ingredients), $30 for gel manicure. They also do waxing. It's in the same room where the ladies gab and snack, but I'll be danged- they did a good job on my brows! $10 eyebrow wax. Don't expect trimming or a lot of tweezing but the shape is right. Everyone was super friendly and inviting. I do wish it was a bit cheaper though. read more

This is an awesome spot for a pedicure! It's cute & clean and the staff is very friendly. I've been at least 5 times & had a few different girls do my pedicure. None of them have ever hurt my feet unlike the other couple of places I've been to. The scent of the establishment is light & lovely, I think from eucalyptus they use in the included hot towel treatment for the legs. Ahhhhh... :-) The $30 price seems typical for Memphis. One thing I would not recommend though... is going there for acrylic nails. They have 1 lady that does those. I went to her twice, & her nails do not stay; they start to lift. I asked for a specific set of nails. I received otherwise, my finger was cut and bled out with the drill bit, my nails were uneven, crocked and unbelievably thick. EXTREMELY THICK! I had them on all of 4 days because my nails were hurting really badly and hurt not even worse that they are gone. This is what I get for cheating on my nail tech. I had a mediocre pedicure. The girl who did it was obviously new, she did ok but was not as thorough or detailed as I would have preferred. Same for my gel manicure. They do not offer complimentary drinks. Their establishment was clean and I felt that their tools were safe. However when I asked for a lip wax the women giggled and behaved in a rather insulting manner and I did not end up getting my wax. The pedicures here are the best and it is so relaxing. The young girl seemed new, but she was so sweet and did an awesome job. The manager here is also sweet and accommodating... BUT Then another woman took over to help the new girl and she was a bit rude. Just a little bit. She wasn't accommodating and did not provide the best service that I'm used to having here. That's why I gave 3 stars. I didn't like my nails the way she did them and she didn't try to do anything different or offer any suggestions. My normal nail place was closed today, so I gave Spa Nails a try. The shop is in a strip center in midtown. It is clean and quite small - there are 5 spa pedicure chairs and 5 nail stations. The prices are in line with other Memphis nail salons of this type ($35.00 for pedicure) and they allow tipping on your credit card. I was not offered a drink, which I have come to expect here in Memphis, but I was not really disappointed. My nail tech was very thorough in the pedicure and did her best to explain the difference in the 3 types of pedicures that are offered (I would suggest they have a printed menu since there was a bit of a language barrier). I didn't feel the place was unsanitary as another Yelper suggested. They used a fresh lining in my spa pedi chair and their tools were sanitized in an ultraviolet machine. I didn't get my fingernails done this time but my pedi was great and I will definitely return in the future. read more

I've been to the place several times in the time I've lived here. I've had one great experience but all others have been rushed and not done correctly. I get the same waxing service every time I come and each time the service is done differently. When I inform the lady of it she begins to forcibly wax. They pride themselves on being cheap and affordable and constantly comparing to Gould's salon or others. However they always leave hairs and I have to constantly point them out. I just give up at one point so I don't seem rude. They also told me the wait would take an hour and it ended up being 1 hour and 45 minutes. I feel like I'm an annoyance to them when I'm paying for a service and should be treated respectfully. I won't be going here anymore as their services are not consistent and all they care about is getting as many services at once. Great service, conversation, and nail care. They did an excellent job on my sns manicure and basic pedicure. They offer two kinds of pedicures a $35 and $45 service. I got the $35. I don't know whar the $45 one entailed as I did not inquire....but the $35 was very good and included a nice mini leg and foot massage. I am surprised at the negative reviews of Spa Nails. I have been going to Spa Nails for years and I have always been pleased. The place is clean, they are friendly and they have lots and lots of color choices. One thing I have found is if you go on the weekend, there will be several younger ladies working who are probably in school during the week. This means on the weekend, you have the chance of getting a less experienced person giving you a manicure or pedicure. Some do a better job than others. Once I got a less than perfect job on my manicure and Cindy, the owner or manager or the one who speaks English the best, took care of me. No one starts perfect in any job, so I am patient with the younger ladies. If you go during the week, especially during the day, chances are you will get one of the ladies that have been doing manicures and pedicures for a while and you will be very pleased with their work. For anyone who has reviewed Spa Nails and said the staff was unfriendly, my guess would be their english is not very good. I have been there probably 75 times and have never seen anything that resembles rudeness or unfriendly behavior. They recently upgraded their pedicure chairs and manicure stations. It would be nice if they offered beverages, but that's not a deal breaker for me. I always bring my own beverage. read more

The service was good but I did not like the staff talking about me and my nails only because they were having a hard time removing the gel polish. They insisted I had an acrylic overlay on my natural nail when I didn't. i had my nails inspected by several techs and I ended paying extra for their struggles. Spa nails was recommended to me by a friend since I just moved to the area. There were 4-5 people in line before me when I arrived. I was greeted immediately upon entering and signed my name to a list with what service I wanted. I waited about 20 min to get a chair but it was comfortable, good music and smelled very nice so it passed quickly. I got the higher priced 45$ pedicure which had a massage/aromatherapy dimension to it. My technician, Mia, was very pleasant, relaxed and informative. She also admired my tattoos on my leg and was generally just very nice. The part that will have me coming back is how she took her time without dawdling, was very careful of my tattoo which was pretty new, and gave an amazing leg/foot massage and overall service. I ended up spending about 20$ more than expected and than I usually do- but it was absolutely well worth it and I will go back every time I need a pedicure, which I don't get often, but am very particular about because I work as a nurse and my feet are very important to my job.A++++ read more

I got a good mani-pedi here, no complaints. Up to date trashy magazines, massage chairs, OPI polish selection, and a super friendly staff are big pluses here. This place has a typical shopping center nail shop vibe, and it definitely takes walk-ins (I was one). There's the strength and the weakness of this spot -- it took two hours from walking in to being finished, and the lady helping me seemed absolutely exhausted. I went yesterday afternoon. Not a long wait which was refreshing. The pedicure was relaxing and the woman took her time. However the manicure was another story. I told her she was hurting me with the cuticle nippers but she continued to use them, I was bleeding during the manicure. Today I have multiple cuts on my cuticles that sting constantly and have noticed that the gel polish needed another coat because it was not applied evenly. I'm disappointed in this salon.
