However, this is more of a management problem. The place needs a thorough cleaning! The chairs were dirty, and the pandemic type screens at the technician's desks were all dirty. Ok. I'll admit. There was a wait. A considerable one. No appointments. But let's talk about the experience. I have never had so much fun just listening to the banter and camaraderie in a nail salon. So many regular customers but you were treated like family. Everyone was in a great mood and it was a crazy busy Friday. All of the staff was polite and friendly. All of the equipment was clean/sanitized as well. $35 for pedi with polish. This included a massage and hot towel wrap. Honestly, well worth it and I will be back. Knowing that they know their customers by name and remember who just had a baby and who just got Married and etc., that means so much. The shop was semi busy when I walked in and I waited a while for a technician to get started on my nails. However, during my waiting period I noticed that the staff worked at a slower pace than most shops I'm use to. I did not complain because I prefer for someone to carefully work on my nails and do a great job. I got a gel fill and she did a great job at maintaining the nail shape I had previously got done. Nia along with two other fantastic nail techs made sure they understood exactly what I wanted and how to achieve the results. Since my natural nails grow upwards, just about any other nail salon I've gone to would just do my nails like they would anyone else's and I'd leave not loving my nails. I have tried to like this salon, I really have. To put this in context I have tried the salon maybe six or seven times over the course of 15 years. Everyone seems to be very friendly and it is convenient in regards to my work life balance, which is why I keep returning. However, the level of service that I get is so inconsistent. In fairness I have had one or two women who have given me a great manicure and/or pedicure over the years. But unfortunately not everyone has the same acumen as those women. This last visit solidified it for me and I won't be going back. If you want to know if someone can do a manicure pick the color white or red. You will immediately know if they are skilled. I tend to wear Funny Bunny or Marshmallow, OPI and Essie brands respectively. I should've stopped the nail tech when I saw how she was doing my toe nails. But I never want to be THAT customer. I questioned it and she assured me that she already had 4 coats on my toes. (I have never needed four coats before ) I will spare you the diatribe with my mani. Let's just say that I was hoping that the more coats she added the better it would get, and it did fix the streaks. The problem is, who has time to wait for all of those coats to dry? Well, I did for almost 40 minutes....Sigh I'm going to give this review three stars vs. two for the mere fact that they do have good nail techs, you just have to know who they are and request them. read more

It was recommended to go to this salon, so being from out of town...why not. I was having a nail emergency. The business was clean and looked nice. I cheated on my usual nail tech and I regret it. I wear my natural nails with overlay. My nails grow in the coffin shape already, so because of that, they went up about $10. That was weird because they didn't have to use nail tips or glue. Just acrylic powder and liquid. They then said that if I got a cut down that it would go back to $38. How? When they charge to cut your nails down. They said they use quality products and that's why they charge so much. Well today is Tuesday I had my nails done on Saturday and look at the picture. I get my nails done at Walmart and I can go a month without nails breaking and I can get my nails, pedicure and eyebrows done for less than $80. Also they was messy with the overlay and it ran down on my skin...I had to stop the lady from using her sharp nail to press down on my skin to separate the harden acrylic from my skin. I did it myself...There is a product for that...you should know that. Once I told her that I know how to do the nails myself, but being right handed...it's hard to use my left hand. I had no problems with the cost so I expected a better job and for the nail tech to have expertise. If I have another nail emergency while out of town...I will not go there. My suggestion would be to get upfront pricing and stick to your guns. My fiancé paid for it, so he said...just go ahead. read more

Racist workers!!! I'm an African American female and came to Spa nails with my Hispanic friend and we received terrible service the whole time. I don't get my nails done often so I may not know all the correct terminology but I feel like my description was precise enough to get the idea. All I wanted was an acrylic French tip on my toes. Nothing out of the ordinary or uncommon. The worker had the nerve to yell at me "what do you want". Moving on to the pedicure. While's sitting in the chair the two workers were looking at us laughing the whole time. These were grown women in their 40's not teenagers so we found that very offensive and unprofessional. The lady ended up not doing the style I wanted and I told her before she even finished the first toe that this is not what I asked for. She was painting my bare toenail. I was then met with a sigh of frustration. Another worker came and told her to not do the style I originally asked for and just finish what she was doing. I have been coming to Spa Nails since I moved to Memphis a little over 6mo ago and I will never go anywhere else ever again. The ladies working here are friendly and welcoming and they take pride in their work. I always leave this place happy with nails of shiny perfection. Before coming to Spa Nails, the cost of getting continuous dip manicures just never seemed worth it to me because the dip manicures I had received at other places were never of consistent quality. I never knew if the end result would be as good as the last time I had it done and often times the dip would prematurely crack or begin to separate from my nail at the bottom edge. I always thought this was probably my fault because I work with my hands and so my nails go through a lot. Because of all of the above, I would get my nails done on occasion and then after having it removed I would always be sad that my nails were thin and unhealthy...... This has all changed..... I am now a regular at Spa Nails. The quality of work here is high and when I have the dip removed, my nails are healthy and thick. As mentioned earlier, I work with my hands and so my nails go through a lot on a daily basis and my dip manicure always lasts. When I come to have the dip removed and redone, it is usually because my nails have grown too long for comfort and the manicure has grown too far from the nail bed, the manicure itself is usually still in great condition. I love Spa Nail! When I moved back home to Memphis, I took to Yelp to find a good nail salon. This looked great and is near my apartment, so I decided to go. First of all, they have more colors than I have ever seen in a nail salon! Initially, I was disappointed that it wasn't OPI (for gel nails) but honestly, I don't miss it and don't know if I will ever go back to OPI shellac. For regular polish, they have plenty of OPI options so have no fear! They have a lot of "MATCH" colors, which they have in gel and in regular polish so you can have a matching mani pedi. Every single time I get my nails done, someone will comment about how pretty the color is or how well they were done... they really do a great job. I have been going every 3-4 weeks (yeah, the gel lasts THAT long) since August. The manicure is relaxing and fairly quick but they do not rush and will NOT let you leave with a smudge or streak. I am in love with their pedicure. They use a natural product line and for $10 more, you can get a scented essential oil soak and an extended massage (and probably a few other things I'm forgetting to mention). Even the regular pedicure is so worth it though. This includes: exfoliation of feet/ calves, hot towel, massage with a cooling gel, and lotion, and of course painting the nails perfectly! The massage chairs are also incredible and I leave feeling so refreshed. Lastly, the girls there are so sweet. When I walk in someone says, "Hi Catherine! How was work today?" and will ask if I want the gel mani and a pedi, as usual. It is so nice to go somewhere and be remembered; they even remember details about my life and will ask how my parents or boyfriend are doing, which shows how caring they are!
