I literally just got a pedicure here and couldn't wait to review this place. it is amaaaazing. Best pedicure I've gotten! My pedicurist was Jaime and she spent an entire hour pampering my feet and making my toes look beautiful (I haven't had a pedi in a year so we're talking about some major work here). I brought a book to study from but I almost fell asleep because I was so comfortable. The nail job itself looks beautiful. Jaime helped me pick the perfect color and like I already mentioned, she spent a luxurious hour getting my toes in tip top shape for the wedding i'll be in on saturday. Lots of scrubbing, filing, and massaging! It was slightly expensive- luckily today is Wednesday and they have a pedi special for $30. I'll probably try to always come on wednesdays to catch the special but the money is well worth it here :) read more

Okay it is a VERY rare occasion that I dole out a 5 star review but I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Yes...They are that GOOD!!! As other reviewers have said the Pedicures here are A-MAZ-ING!!! They will soak, buff, Chisel if necessary, polish and beautify your lil piggies....no matter what state of claw, crustyness that you show up with. They pay exceptional attention to detail and they must have some magic pixie dust in the polish since my pedicures there routinely look sandal worthy for 3 weeks. While all the pedicure folks are good....Joslyn is the QUEEN of the pedicure. ask for her if you want the best pedicure you have EVER had. While they may be a pedicure nirvana...they also do a wonderful manicure and gel (no-chip) manicure. In general what impresses me most about this place is the obvious pride that all the operators take in their work and their commitment to making sure that you are satisfied with your services. This is a place where customer service is still an integral part of your experience. Yes they are a bit more pricey than the strip mall nail places...but they are worth EVERY penny. If you are concerned about the prices they have specials every week (Tues for manicures, Wed for pedicures and Thursday for gel manicures). So give yourself a treat and book a mani/pedi here. Yes, yes, YES!!! I got one of the best pedicures of my life here. My feet were looking pretty ogre-ish when I staggered in here, but nobody looked sideways at me or said nasty things about me to their co-workers. Instead, Jackie took her time (an hour) to really work on my toes and make them shine. She was really paying attention to my feet, and I could tell that sometimes she'd move on to another step in the pedicure, then see something she wasn't quite satisifed with, so she'd go back to it and make it right. At the end of the pedicure, I thought I didn't have any cash for a tip, and she was even kind and forgiving of that (luckily, though, I found some $$ in my car, because karma follows people who don't tip awesome pedicurists). This lady is an absolute angel. Essie, OPI, lovely environment, properly-cleaned tubs (I saw this multiple times during my pedicure), and friendly staff. Plentiful selection of trashy magazines. At $40 for a pedi, this place isn't cheap, but then, you get what you pay for. I'd rather shell out for an hour of bliss than wince through a $25 snipfest. read more

I got married in Memphis in September, and I checked all over the web to find a place with good reviews I could take my girls to for manis before the big day. Nail and Skin Bar had good reviews and was active on social media which I liked. I called several weeks in advance to make sure that there was enough staff to cover all the manicures we needed done in under two hours. The staff was happy to accomodate us, and they were ready and waiting for us when we arrived. I have been to many nail salons that will give you an appointment, but won't stick to it. You'll show up for your time and see three people ahead of you with only two staff members working. Not here. They were fully staffed and ready to go! The manicures were really terrific. Everyone looked great! Staff was so friendly, and you could tell that they were used to managing bridal parties getting their nails done. The only drawback was difficulty scheduling, because it seems like only one person schedules large party reservations and we played phone tag for several days which caused me some anxiety. I called far enough in advance that it wasn't an issue though. I would still recommend this palce to anyone looking to take their bridal party to get their nails done! read more

Both times the service was amazing (and diff pedicurist both times). They had a huge selection of nail polish, including OPI of course! The pedi/mani lasted a wonderfully long time. Have been a client for a number of years. Love the service, the friendly atmosphere and quality of their work. I consistently have problems with manicures chipping, except when done by Yolonda at the Nail and Skin Bar. My pedicures last for over a month. I also get my brows done there. Always a fun vibe with Wine Down Wednesdays and the occasional martini on Tuesdays. Their Tuesday $12 manicure special is a great deal. read more

Hands-down best nail spa in Memphis. As a former Cooper-Young resident, on the off chance I made time for a mani/pedi, this is the only place I would go! I now live in Houston, TX, but every time I come home to visit, I make it my business to make an appointment! I've never had a bad experience! Some people call it pricey, but you get what you pay for. I know that when I get a pedicure here, my feet will stay soft for a month unlike the results you get from some of the other shops around town. You'll get a solid hour of foot attention and all done the old fashion way of pumice and filing, not that razor blade slicing thing (which scares me). This was a gigantic disappointment. I had read such good reviews about this place and had had such a stressful week. I was excited to get the chance to treat myself to a relaxing "Wine Wednesday" at what was said to be the best pedicure spot in Memphis. Sadly, my experience was far from the best. From the moment I walked in, no one greeted me. I awkwardly found someone who worked there and told them the name my appointment was under. Once I was seated (at the same time another client was being seated) I was uncomfortable. I had read that this salon did not have massage chairs, and honestly I didn't care since those normally don't do anything for me anyway. But the chair I was in was little more than a seat on the subway. My short legs could not reach the other side of the bowl so I was forced to keep my feet flexed while in the water and scoot down to the edge of my seat in order to allow the lady to paint my toes. I noticed the client seated opposite me had been offered wine as soon as she sat down. I was not, so I hinted. "Do you guys still do the wine Wednesday thing I saw online?" The lady very politely said they sure do. Nothing else. After a few more minutes I decided to be a bit more direct and say I had been looking forward to wine and a pedi all day at work. And was excited to relax with wine and a pedi. ...Still nothing but a smile. The lady was nice but only to an extent. She chatted freely with other workers and clients but barely spoke when I tried to start conversation after conversation. By the end of my experience, she was laughing on her cell while taking my payment. All in all: The paint job looks fine. The foot and leg massage were non-existent. And the wine (which I finally out right asked if they were out of wine or something) was sickeningly sweet. I left stiff, uncomfortable, and sad. I hope this is just an off night, but that doesn't change the fact that I will never be back. read more

I got a mani/pedi here and I absolutely LOVED the whole experience! The staff was super friendly and amazing! I went with a group of ladies, and we were all able to be together throughout the entire session (which makes the experience SOOO much more fun). Both the mani & pedi were FANTASTIC! First is all, the salon is decorated so its a combination of hip and earthy, right on the mark. The owner is fun and full of life, very welcoming. Very Disappointed! I hardly ever get pedicures and so I was so excited to go with a friend and get one for my birthday. I read the reviews here on Yelp and thought this sounded like a great place. After getting my pedicure, I'm a bit confused as to why some say this is "The best pedicure" they've ever had. That was definitely not my experience. I had gotten a manicure the day before at a different salon and so that place was fresh in my mind. Hands down, I wish I had gone back to that place instead of here for my pedicure. 1) First off, we were running a little late for our appointment and I called and told them that we would be about 10 min late. But were made to feel rushed when we got there. 2) The tools at this place were just kinda thrown in a tool box, not sure how well they were cleaned before each client. The salon I went to the day before had each set of a tools in a sterile package and opened a new package for each new client! As I said, we felt rushed and they started cleaning the tub as I was sitting there and didn't seem like they cleaned it very well. 3) She was a bit rough with my feet. 4) I also was really excited to get a cute little design or something on my toes and was informed after we already started that they DON'T do designs. I've never been to a nail salon where they don't know how to do this. She then said she was the "glitter" queen and I asked her what she could do with that and was then informed there was no time to do that. 5) The normal "massage" that comes with pedicures was not very good at all! Its exceptionally nice to sit back after a long days work with some wine and have girl talk while being pampered. No massage chairs or fancy equipment necessary. All of the ladies do great work. I'm new to the Memphis area and thought I would try out the Nail and Skin Bar since it's close to my house. I walked in at 6:45 pm when they close at 7, and even though they closed in 15 minutes and Yolanda was already working with another client, she told me she would be happy to see me after her current client. She took her time with my nails and stayed open more than an hour after closing time and never made me feel rushed.
