A lot has changed over the years, while I did recommend them seven years ago, I would not now. The service was not friendly, there were flies everywhere. It seems like they have not maintaned the interior very well. I sat down for a pedicure and the water felt cooler, so I asked politely if they could warm it a little while I waited. He turn it on and off for two seconds. I felt that I would not get great service here today, so I left. After a bad experience at my usual nail place, I decided it was time to branch out. Ann's Nails had the highest rated reviews in my area, and it was close to my house, so I decided to give it a try. They worked me in on a Monday with no problem. When I arrived, they immediately took me to the pedicure chair and my treatment was started. While they don't do quite as much massage and scrubbing as other nail spots, their attention to detail is superior to other places. I also had my nails done and they still look very good a full nine days later. The staff was very friendly, and I was surprised at how reasonably priced they were given their location in Germantown. It used to be a relatively decent place - acceptable quality of performing the pedi and manicure - taking care of all steps of the process to promote the health of the nails. Today , I'm beyond disgusted- I had to interrupt and guide the technician-Mike- for trimming the cuticles, putting oil before slapping - yes SLAPPING - some polish on; When I saw him using the same file and instruments from my toenails on my fingernails without even rinsing them or dipping them , I asked him to do it and he mumbled something ... I'm not sure he didn't understand English well, I feel he pretended.. after I payed , I told the manager about my concerns and showed him my un- evenly filed nails ( on the same nail ..) and he asked me if I " want him to re-file them".. It's been 4 hrs since the manicure and the polish is already peeling off... Well.... It's taken me months to investigate my concerns regarding the correlation between the melanin in my skin (or lack of) with the level of service received at this spot. I am utterly Disgusted, Dissatisfied, and Disappointed that no matter how much you pay (see attached receipt from last visit) or tip ($10 each visit for nails) ($5) for pedi, you WILL NOT receive equitable service here! Friendly manicurists that are efficient, talented and kind! Cleanest salon I've visited in a long time.

Came in and wasn't acknowledged for the first five minutes--that is, until I took it upon myself to begin looking at the dip powders on the wall. Once I was finally asked what I wanted and given the nail swatches to choose my color, I sat for another 20 or so minutes while several more patrons were seated and serviced immediately. I guess it was only a coincidence that I was the only black person I saw walk through the doors. I can't get that half hour back, but I can guarantee that this place will never again come that close to getting my money. read more

I've been going to this salon for 3 years because of its exceptional service. My nails (dip) have never broken or chipped except once when I slammed my finger in my trunk. But that was obviously my fault. I sometimes keep my nails for over a month with no problems. That's with me working with my hands a lot. I can only fault this place for being small, truly. The colors are more "office complex" than "spa", but it is tidy and roomy for the 4 or 5 pedicure chairs and manicure tables that they offer. The customers we sat near seemed very comfortable and knew the staff well. They had all the regular offerings of a nail spot (shellac, pedicure, manicure), with a neighborhood feel. I have gone to Ann's Nails 4 or 5 times. I always get dip powder. In the past, they have always done a good job, and my nails last 3 weeks. I got my nails done Tuesday evening. By Thursday, one cracked. They fixed the nail Friday. Saturday 3 more nails cracked. I went on my lunch break today. It was crowded, but I understood and waited patiently. I was sitting there for an hour while other customers that came in after me were called. I had to go back to work, so I told the owner I would just come back. When I returned, the owner was visibly irritated. He did fix my nails but then said, "You can leave. Just don't touch anything. Or if you want, wait 5-10 min." I didn't want to mess them up so I waited. I thanked him and told him I appreciated him. After 5 mins, he said, "You're dry. You can leave." His tone was rude. My nails hadn't lasted a week, and it was extremely inconvenient having to go back THREE times to have it corrected. I left like he said, and I won't be back. read more

I went in today just based on recommendations. Vin did the best dip job I've EVER had. I asked him if he could not make them too thick and they are absolutely perfect. I also asked for a suggestion for a good classic red color and they gave me Big Apple Red, which may now be my favorite red. Everyone was super nice and I've never liked dip as much as this. A friend recommended this salon after I had a terrible experience elsewhere in town. They're busy, but I had made an appointment a couple days prior and they didn't keep me waiting at all! Also, they have refreshments which is a bonus! The salon is very clean, and I definitely appreciate that they use new tools when giving you a pedicure. Finally! A place that can make French/American dip properly. Did shellac forever but my place couldn't get the "moon/curve" right with their technique and equipment using the dip. Taylor does a great job and so does her fiancé. This is a efficient, clean, professional nail salon. If I wait 5 min it's never "soaking" and they do my mani and dip faster than anyplace I've been in Germantown. It's my new go to location and if you haven't tried the dip yet - do it! Everyone is great so don't worry about who you get. They are faIr and will fix a break if it happens, though that is rare. Still the best. I went in to get a pedicure I was told $70 so I started to put my shoes back on then she asked me what I normally pay I said $35 then she told me she can do it for $40. These people are scam artists. Now my credit card was canceled because of fraudulent activity. The lady who rang me up swiped my card 2 times once I'm guessing on a skimmer machine then again on the legit credit card machine. And I'm sure there are the reason. I only use that card for hair and nails. I would stay far away from here. I should have know better when the place had no other customers inside. read more

Wandered into this place on a Saturday afternoon. Only one other person getting their nails done, but I thought I would give it a try. The service was excellent. I was offered a beverage, which doesn't happen at many nail salons anymore, and was seated right away. The water was the perfect temperature. The chair was a nice regular massage chair you find in every salon. The pedicure was 30 minutes, but it did not feel rushed. I also got my eyebrows done while there.
