This is my second time at Elite nails and both times my experience has been sub par. The manicurist used a sharp blade to push my cuticles back and she took the top layer of my nails off. I just get a regular manicure, no gel or anything so messing with my nail bed isn't necessary. And instead of cutting the cuticles she just yanked them off basically. When she filed my nails they were jagged and and uneven. I pointed out a few and she fixed them kind of, but I had to refill them when I got home. They also had NewsMax on. Had I seen that when I walked wouldn't have stayed. read more

Wow. Went to this place for a mani pedi with gel. Never had gel on my toenails that was rough to the touch and so unevenly applied. After I pointed it out in the shop, they offered to "fix" it - i explained that you cant just fix gel, you have to redo it and considering the technician drilled off my prior gel instead of soaking it in remover first, i have little interest in tearing up my actual nail further. In 30 years of getting my nails done never had to explain that rough nails with inconsistent nail polish application and just nail polish everywhere around my nail-bed was not something i was going to pay for. I think they saw a male and gave me a shitty technician. This place was not relaxing, they cut-corners, and then you have to explain this to them how shitty the quality was - take at look at the pics from just after the pedi. read more

I have been here frequently and have not had one bad episode. At the same time, I'm also friendly so maybe the staff here work productively based off the energy of their client. The ambiance is very peaceful. They play light music for you to listen to. It usually is pretty average in the noise there unless they have loud clients. From what I've seen, it has been clean when it comes to their tools but if you notice or have an issue, they are quick to correct their issues because they are kept pretty busy so oversights are possible. It's also in a great location where everything is when it comes to eating choices before or after. They are usually very quiet and just stick to the work unless you break the ice with them, but that's just my experience. I would say they are pretty pricey but they are very accommodating and provide free beverages to your liking. I'll probably still find another nail salon just to promote more businesses but overall this is a nice place to try out. read more

Every time they do my "dip," it's done a different way. Light, no light, drill, no drill... today, the lady thumped each one of my fingers after it left the powder. It felt like I was being punished. To finish off, while the top coat was drying, I was moved to the waiting area... after about a minute, she came back & applied oil to my cuticles, reached inside my purse (while I was opening it) for my card... left. I spot my card sitting a top the unmanned register... after about a minute, a man checked me out. The same man started my service. I left a good tip, but I won't be back. Sadly. A stranger to town, my wife just needed a plain French manicure. She called to make an appointment. Here is what she wrote: Although well-regarded on Yelp, I was not really comfortable there. I waited a few minutes before being acknowledged. When the young man assigned to me arrived with the tools in a "sterilized" bag, he sat down without even a hello. He opened the bag. I picked up one or two of the tools and showed him where they were still dirty. He got up and went to the back. Next, a young lady arrived. She had a new bag of tools, but did not know what service I wanted and was no friendlier. I still felt that the tools were not as clean as I liked and asked that they be sprayed with alcohol. Later I observed that the attendant at another station went to two or three stations, pulled tools out of the drawers, dropped them into a "sterilized" bag and then sealed it. SO MUCH for cleanliness!!!! If I had not been in the middle of the manicure, I would have gotten up to leave. I went home and doused myself with alcohol to prevent infections! Came here on a friend's suggestion while visiting from St. Louis. Me and 2 of my coworkers wanted a good pedicure in a place that served wine and this one was able to accommodate. We were walk-ins as I tried to call several times but the phone line was unavailable for some reason (maybe the phone was off the hook some how?). We took a chance and traveled the 20+ minutes to the location anyway. We arrived just in time to find a clean, safe looking location with culturally mixed clientele. We were seated next to one another and offered our choice of red, white, or sparkling wine and we were all set. Even though we came for wine and a basic pedi I must say that the pedicure I received was EXCELLENT. My feet needed a lot of attention and my tech did a great job smoothing them out and shaping them up. All of us were pleased and feeling quite nice when we went back to our hotel. So, this is my issue with this place. I accidentally called the germantown location, and they told me to come in, they were accepting walk-ins. I showed up at this location, looked around, and saw people waiting. I told the lady what had happened, and she said "sure, we can do a pedicure, it will only be a second". I sit down. After 15 minutes of sitting, the elderly lady next to me asks me how long I had been waiting. I told her she was here before me. She then informs me she has been there for 30 minutes and they told her it would only be a minute. You've got to be kidding me. I could have driven to the germantown location by now, and already had my toes soaking. After the one interaction, they never checked back in with me. I would never recommend this place to anyone simply based on the way they lie to their customers, and have no qualms about wasting your time. If they had of been upfront with how long it would take, I would have had time to go somewhere else. My review is for the Collierville location. There pedicures are the best in Memphis! And I've been to many places! Get the upgrade pedi. Get pampered for a relaxing 1-1 1/2 hrs but make sure to make an appt. the upgrade pedi is Well worth it including hot stones , aromatherapy and killer massages! The staff and management are great and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Make sure you buy a bottle of the hard to find OPI lotion up front...they all smell Devine! Poplar location I'm not a huge fan of...it's usually crazy busy and they aren't as good. Atmosphere is nothing great and it's just bleh. They also don't take as much time on you. They also don't offer the upgrade pedis at the east Memphis location. Staff is kinda weird and half the chairs are not working properly. Make the drive to Collierville. read more

I MUST update my review! I've been a customer here since the owners daughter was in elementary school. I've been a faithful customer even after relocating, when I'm in town I'm always here and almost always receive a warm welcome from a few of the vets here especially the wife -co-owner and Thao since my girl Tina left. During my most recent visit the owners husband James was a complete turd! He treated me as if I wasn't good enough to be there. I watched as he asked other customers for their beverage choice AND refilled them! When my nail tech asked if I wanted something to drink I told her yes, she signaled for him to fulfill my order, when my pedicure was almost done, he finally brought my mimosa over! I slurped it down so fast after the tsunami rain storms that poured in Memphis and the attitude of James, I was ready for my refill. A short time later, James walked through asking others customers if they cared for anything else, since their glasses were empty! There I am with an empty glass half full of water from the ice, and uncomfortable sitting in a broken chair that's worn out on the right side, by some Memphis style bbq hips that has worn one side out. The display monitor was even broken so no massage while I sat there partially parched! In any case after my nail tech gave him my glass after my pedi since he never asked me for a refill. As she was starting my mani he still didn't return it, almost finished with my mani right before she started polishing she went and picked up my glass that had been sitting on the counter showing it to him to refill my mimosa; which was watered down. Slap my silly and call my Suzy! Y'all this man topped off the watered down mimosa. like there was so much water in the glass! When he sat it in front of me I wanted to thump his ass on the forehead, however I politely told my nail tech I was not drinking that. She insisted several times that I have something to drink and asked "Do you miss Tina" my response was "You bet ya I do" I thanked her for offering me something else to drink but declined yet again. She gave me a bottle of water, she was sweet. :( As much as I loved this place, I will not tolerate unfair treatment when I'm spending if not more, or the same amount of money as other women. I will never return here again, nor will I refer any more business if this is how he will treat people! Just as I'm finishing this I do recall back in November the last time i visited this salon a young black woman was visibly upset expressing her concerns and embarrassed him, it was probably due to his attitude. This Spa is in a good location in Germantown. Inside doesn't look bad actually is nice. I felt invisible. No body was in front n I was waiting to be told how long should I wait, since I didn't have appointment n I just walked in.Not much welcoming. I sat for a while still nothing and I found it disrespectful. After a while II got manicure .She did a good job and was very nice but I am not really sure that tools are washed in between customers. All tools were in a plastic bag and after she finished she wiped them and put them in the same plastic bag and closed the bag and put it back in place. I didn't see any sign that any body desinfect tools. They just wipe them n put them back in the same place in their rack. Also not everybody had mask I had my manicure with no shield. I won't go back there. Doesn't matter how well the job is done, I don't want to get fungus or other things. I hope you find this review helpfull. read more

This is my favorite spot for a pedicure. With pricing about the same as smaller, less elegant nail salons, it feels like a bargain. Especially when you take into account the complimentary drinks served. Wine, margaritas and mimosas are de rigueur, but soft drinks and water are also available. A separate room for pedicures in the back has an elegant spa-like feel, and the massaging recliners and soft lighting and music are relaxing. Just hope you don't get a loud-talker with a cell phone next to you. It's much more polite to keep it to texting. As far as the actual services, it's somewhat inconsistent. My general observation has been that the younger manicurists aren't as good the more experienced ones. Specifically, the foot and hand massages aren't as good and they don't do as good a job on polishing. One of them even argued with me when I wanted to put on my sandals before the she polished my toenails (which is what they normally do) instead of wearing the flimsy foam things. By and large, though, the service is excellent and attentive, and I feel thoroughly pampered while I'm there. In addition to the standard mani's and pedi's, there are special ones for higher prices. For example, the Garden Rose Pedicure, which includes a nicely scented foot bath and salt scrub. Appointments are accepted but walk-ins are fine and there's usually not a wait unless you go after 3:00 or so - the after school/work crowd fill it up. read more

Mya, is the owner of this nail salon on poplar, the people she hired to work with her are very kind and does excellent work on your nails and feet not to mention shellac on the nails great!! Elite is a relaxing place to be while getting a manicure, pedicure or gel nails. They offer coke, wine, water and juice to all the clients. However, the price is a little expensive compared to other nails salon but, they do great work my nails stay on three weeks with the color looking vibrant as if i just got them done. So, its worthy!! Normally this place does a great job, but today was a compete disappointment. I made an appt for 1:30 and wasn't even acknowledged until 2:00. No apology, nothing. I'm giving this place two stars because: 1) I asked for shellac and they didn't ask if I wanted color only which every other spa I have been to did so I paid 30$ for a manicure that was terrible. 2) Since I was being charged for a manicure I expected one and it was the worst hand massage ever she literally spent 10 seconds and just slightly touched my hands, it was that gross soft touch that creeps you out. 3) I had red on my nails and she didn't remove all of it from under my nails so my nails look dirty. 4) after I found out she was charging me 30 not 18, I told my friend who was there as well and she said when she requested just nail color change the lady became really mean, and she did get her toes changed too and they charged her 14$ for a color change, which is insane! The good: they play classical music, give u free mimosa, and I had a brand new package opened for my nail equipments ( not sure f they do that every time though).
