My sister-in-law hosted a Bridesmaids Luncheon here before her wedding. This salon is beautiful. It's nicer than any nail salon I've ever been to. The pedicure room is immaculate. The woman who did my nails was attentive and courteous. She even had someone go look for limo-scene, my color of choice when I couldn't find it. One of my favorite nail salons in Memphis. I'm super picky about how my acrylics are done and the girls at the salon accommodate SO well! They are always neat and professional, as well as kind and courteous. The owner and his wife are darling and always so accommodating. Their pedicure services are so relaxing, I could fall asleep when they're massaging my feet! The tools are always kept very clean and I'm never worried about infection (like at some salons) Love that they provide drinks, they always make you feel very comfortable and "at home" There's always relaxing classical music playing and incense burning - but neither are overwhelming. I love this place. They are quick. There is a lot of nail techs so I have never waited more than 15 minutes. Some techs are better than the others. Out of the 4 techs I've experienced, I really loved two. Overall I love coming here. So happy I finally found a place I can go to get my nails and feet done. THIS REVIEW WAS RECENTLY SCRUBBED BY SOMEONE FROM ELITE NAILS YELP PAGE! I signed in stating that I wanted a gel manicure and a superpedicure. I also informed the gentlemen at the front desk (the owner/operator) that I was presently wearing shellac polish on my nails. When I was seated in the pedicure room, the chair didn't work. The nail tech filled the sink with cold water. When I asked her to warm it, she drained all the water, after removing the plastic liner, and turned on the hot water, then walked away. When I put my feet in, I was scalded. After a rather painful filing and sloughing, she messed up the polish on my toes. I asked her to fix it and she smudged the wet polish with her fingers and led me to the manicure stations where the real horror began. As I mentioned, I had gel polish on my nails, that should've been wrapped so the gel could soften for easy removal. When I got to the mani station, the tech attempted to remove the gel polish from my nails. I had to explain a couple of times that it was gel, not regular polish. She got very agitated at the owner for not telling her to wrap my finger nails in acetone while I was getting the pedicure. She then proceeded to get out the drill and basically drilled the nail bed on my nails so thin, they were burning. She got a nail file and filed hard, tearing up my cuticles. I told her this was hurting, but she kept aggressively filing so hard, one of my cuticles started bleeding. After she finally got the gel polish off, my nails were so ragged and torn up, it will clearly take weeks for them to heal and grow. She proceeded to put gel polish on and then attempted to file my nails to get them smooth. By doing this, she filed away some of the polish. She also never did my cuticles, so the polish job is a mess. This whole disaster cost $85. I paid and walked out knowing I will never return to this place. One last mention: the nail tech appeared to not use sterilized utensils. She sprayed utensils with alcohol but since they were laying on the table when we walked up, I assume she had previously used them. AVOID this place at all read more

Van is AMAZING! Every single time she has done my nails, she makes sure they are perfect. Never any nails popping off, fungus (gross!), or the like. She and all the staff are friendly and helpful. You can be served a refreshing beverage, and Alex will help find a color for your toes to match your gel or dip. Lin and Mimi do great pedis. The shop is clean and upscale, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Come see for yourself and you won't either! read more

Worst Pedicure Ever!! I recently moved back to Memphis from the Bay Area and was pleasantly suprised when I found a nail spa that was open on Sunday, and boasted using sanitary tools for every customer. I quickly made an appointment for Sunday at 1:00. Looking forward to a relaxing afternoon, before checking out the new Sex and the City Movie, boy was I ever disappointed. I arrived to find the shop filled with walk-ins and no one stationed at the receptionist desk. When someone finally showed up, I let him know that I had a 1pm appt. and asked if I would be seen by my appt. time. He rudely ignored me and ushered another woman through who also stated she had a 1pm appt. When I inquired again, he impatiently asked me to pick a polish and said he would try to "get me back there". When I was finally able to be seen, I realized I should've just taken my business elsewhere. My pedicure was done by a teenager who barely knew what he was doing. At best, his technique was similar to something my 8 year-old niece could have done. In fact, she could've done a helluva lot better. Oh, the a-hole at the receptionist desk offered everyone water except me. Needless to say, do not waste your time patronizing this very expensive, overrated place (it doesn't deserve to be called a spa). read more

I returned to this salon based on a previous experience I had once had. Unfortunately I raved so much I decided to invite my very-much-pregnant sister-in-law, mother, and 2 yr old niece for a mani/pedi spa day. It was awful. We waited for an hour and a half before anyone came to look at the sign-in sheet. Then the nail technician proceeded to tell me it would me another half hour for me because I wrote down the that I wanted a manicure-- definitely wrote down "pedicure." Normally I would have left but it was supposed to be a special day. I finally was seated in the pedicure spa chair. Select the deluxe pedicure. Was not offered a complimentary beverage like the rest of the customers. Then my sister-in-law, mother, and niece made it back to the spa chairs! That's when the experience got worse. The lady that was my mother's nail technician was so incredibly rude about my niece being with us she was asking my mom questions "Why she here? Where her father? Why you bring her here?" My mom was kind explaining the father was out of town and didn't react. My niece was playing with a stool no one was using, and she walked over there and grabbed her arm so hard. I was so angry I had to leave with my baby niece immediately. Unfortunately my mom did still pay and did not compplain. That employee's behavior ruined my experience and future bookings there as I am a maid of honor in charge of an upcoming spa appt. Will definitely NOT be visiting Elite. read more

Awesome... Until they mess up your nails!!! I used to love this place! I went at least monthly, but more like twice a month. Until today, when I went during my lunch break and asked for a design, explaining exactly what I wanted, and the technician STILL did whatever she wanted. Without time to fix it I decided to come back after work and speak to the manager. Upon my return and after calmly explaining what happened, the staff was VERY rude, raised their voices, and said they would charge me to fix it. I did not argue or bite the bate to make a scene, but I will NEVER patronize this establishment again. I highly encourage you to choose another. read more

I really like this place for the most part. But today the woman who did my nails didn't smile or try to talk once, which is a little awkward but better than someone chatting my ear off. I also told her I wanted my nails short, and she made them short but then wasn't careful to only file my nails and was filing my fingers... I kept going "ow!" and pulling my hand back but she ignored me and kept doing it. Then, while drilling, she was stabbing the sides of my fingers with her nails holding my fingers. Her nails were too long to be doing acrylic on someone I guess. It killed! I did the whole "ow" and pull hand back thing a few times, but I didn't want to be rude. She got through really quick too - which i thought was nice til I realized she forgot a couple steps. She didn't file the sides of my nails or anything so they look/feel a little funny. This is the only time I have had a bad experience there, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming this girl just was having a bad day but if I have an experience like that again, I probably won't be back! read more

I have been here 3 times now, and every time I could've done a better job on my own. The nail Polish is old so it takes at least an hour to dry if you want to put shoes on. The people are rude and always, always I never receive a full scrub of my feet. I should take a picture of what they look like now. They are well kept up feet and look essentially no different than they did before I had a pedicure. Waste of money!!!!! read more

I have been looking for a good nail salon for a couple of months now, and I've heard great things about this place, so I tried it out on Friday. They were very nice, called me by name, and offered me refreshments. I came in for an acrylic fill. The woman told me my acrylics were too grown out and that I needed a new full set, and I said okay because it's true, my nails were horrendous. I paid $28 for the full set plus a $5 tip. Well it's Wednesday now and 3 of my nails have broken, and that's when I realized she didn't even put the acrylic tips on....So I went to the salon and asked to speak to a manager or the owner, the man at the front just said well what do you need help with? I told him how much i liked the place, told him what happened and asked him to credit me on a giftcard so when i came back I would actually be paying for ACRYLICS. The man upfront denied me in a rude manor and told me I didn't ask for acrylic tips. What? I have never in my 3 years of having acrylic nails gotten a new acrylic full set without acrylic tips. He said I got an overlay because my nails were long enough (he wasn't even the person who did my nails). I paid $28 for broken nails 5 days later, when he said they would fix the three nails for me I asked if it would be free and he said it's usually a couple of dollars but they'll do it for free, but when they fix them for free they still aren't going to put on acrylic tips. I did not pay $28 for non acrylic nails, and it's not like I was asking for my money back cause I really did like this place! This place is awful. I have tried to have my nails done here a few times and only once was successful. When I say successful I mean I actually had them done and even then was not to happy with the results. Even with an appointment I waited for 45 minutes before I left. The people are rude and clearly don't have a clue about customer service. All that being said, the Collierville location is about a million times better. They are professional and clean. They don't overbook and treat their customers correctly. It's a little expensive, but definitely worth the extra money. The owner at the Collierville location doesn't seem to want to associate with the east Memphis location. I wonder why. read more

They have a wide variety of gel polishes (which is what I always get) to choose from. They are all very sweet people and I have Always had a positive experience. Very clean and great service! Non stop diet cokes during my pedicure which I love. I will say this location is very busy but understandably so--they are the best!! I have not visited the Collierville location but I have heard good things about the Collierville location as well. I went to Elite a week ago and got a deluxe pedicure. Today I had to go to the podiatrist because that pedicure gave me an infection. The lady doing the pedicure cut too deep and removed too much of my cuticle. I had to have three shots in my toe to numb it so the doctor could remove part of my toe nail. He also had to cut the skin and drain the infection. I called and spoke with the manager. I was told to just explain what I want better next time. read more

While visiting my sister in Germantown, I wanted to go for a pedicure. I chose this salon because it only does nails and the "spa" idea appealed to me. From the time I walked in, my experience was anything but pleasant. The young woman who did my pedicure never cracked a smile and hardly spoke to me. She conversed with her co-worker, but not in English. She appeared sullen and irritated each time I spoke to her or asked a question. When she lead me to the drying station, which was different from any I had ever used, she didn't even show me how to use it. She just said, "Put your feet under the light," and walked away. I sat there with my feet under the wrong light until another patron sat down next to me and showed me how to position my feet. As for the quality of the work, I was (at best) less than thrilled with the results. For example, one nail was cut at an angle and not enough polish was applied. (By the next day, the polish was already chipping.) When I left and the man at the desk asked how my pedicure was, I replied that it was "So-so." He neither asked what was wrong nor acknowledged that my experience was unsatisfactory. He just handed me a receipt for the most expensive pedicure I've ever had. This was not my first AWFUL experience at this location, but it's definitely my last (after they fix my nails tomorrow). My nails look HORRIBLE! I still had to pay $60 with an offer to fix them tomorrow. Went today for the first time just relocated from Michigan. I was greeted as soon as I entered and quickly seated. I was offered a beverage (they have water, poo, wine and mimosas). Amazing pedicure given my Kim she took her time probably one of the best I've had lately. I had a fill which Kim did not do but I don't have the young ladies name. Overall I will be back. Everyone was friendly and they were able to all regulars by first name. Great nail polish selection and tidy salon overall. I will definitely return. read more

Experienced my first visit to the Poplar location. I was greeted by a very nice lady that remembered my name the entire time I was there (very impressive). I was offered a beverage after being seated. I had requested the Deluxe pedi and mani. The pedicure was great - however the manicure not so much. I asked for clear polish on my nails. The next day - the polish was peeling off. Apparently - the nail tech forgot to apply the base coat first - so the top coat would adhere. Suggestion - stick with the pedicure - skip the manicure. Unless you walk them through the entire process re the manicure - which you shouldn't have to do. It's their job to know how to provide these services and not cut corners. read more

Its okay. First, This was my first visit to Elite. Awesome nail tech and you are greeted by the pleasant owner. Kudos for the mimosa....LOL. My nail tech Cindy did a great job on my natural nails and provided an wonderful leg/foot massage. Perfect shape and my shellac has lasted 3 weeks which is usually not the case from other nail spas. Also one of my feet needed more attention than the other when it came to the dry skin and she didnt hesitate to bring out the extra tools needed to smooth that foot out, whereas other spa just scrub. However, i have a few areas of improvements: One she did cut my skin when doing my pedicure but on the plus side, she did not just ignore it. She quickly acknowledged it, asked if I was ok and cleaned it up and got new utensils to finish the job. The second thing was my massage chair did not work. Another thing was i felt my manicure wasnt that great as the finished product itself meaning the "shellac". My cuticles started to peel the first week but this could be due to weather changes and by it being my first spa treatment since the fall. All in all, i would rate this 3.5 stars, I love the environment and my nail tech. The areas of improvements can be corrected and not a dire turn me away, so i would recommend this spa, ask for Cindy.
