Disappointing Experience at E Spa I recently visited E Spa in Miami Beach and left feeling extremely dissatisfied with my experience. The spa's layout and design were a major issue, as I felt uncomfortably exposed during my treatment. Lack of Privacy- The spa's setup is problematic, with treatment areas that don't offer adequate privacy. I was shocked to realize that passersby could see me during my service, which made it impossible to relax. This level of exposure is unacceptable for a spa environment, where clients should feel safe and secluded. Additionally, they used small towels to cover me, I needed two of them as they were so small and awkward. Overpriced Services- I spent nearly $400 on what was supposed to be a luxurious spa day, but it turned out to be just a basic facial. The value for money is simply not there. For such a high price point, I expected top-notch services and a premium experience, but E Spa fell far short of these expectations. Poor Overall Experience The combination of feeling exposed to other clients and the inflated prices for basic services made this one of the worst spa experiences I've had. I left feeling stressed and ripped off, which is the opposite of how a spa visit should make you feel. I wanted a cheaper pedicure than from our spa at the hotel so ifound spa e online. I made an appointment and it was the best pedicure I've ever had. Cucumber water in martini glasses upon arrival, slow jams playing, clean white and turquoise color scheme and highly attentive staff. The owner owned spas in vail before being bought out by canyon ranch, then moved to south beach, hung out for a while then "got bored and opened his spa" ten years ago. Kalifa did my pedicure. They have the coolest chairs that the techs move to get you into the right position while you are enjoying cucumber slices on your eyes. She sloughed off tons of dry skin and my feet looked gorgeous. First review here. I decided to sign up for Yelp to review Spa e because my experience there was really incredible. The second I stepped in it was like I hit an Oasis. The atmosphere in the Spa is very refreshing. It's quite modern inside and feels cool but not cold. The sound of running water contributes to the atmosphere, as does the cool cucumber water you're given while you settle in. I had a Happy Feet message by James and it was incredible. He knew exactly which pressure points to hit and I left feeling simultaneously relaxed and energized. Highly suggest to swing by Spa e while you're on Lincoln Road. The sidewalks can get hot and it seems like a really great place to come get refreshed post beach, pre dinner or club. Five Stars! read more

I am a South Beach Local, I want to surprise my friend with something special for his birthday. Brenda the owner stepped in an arranged the most fabulous surprise. Balloons everywhere, Happy Birthday signs, and the mimosas flowed. She even played Happy Birthday by the Beatles when we walked in. I recently moved down here and needed to find a new nail place, so I gave this place a shot. She was very rough and cut almost every cuticle and made a couple of them bleed. The 4th picture is what I asked for and I did not receive that. They charged me 68$ for a whole set plus a mandatory 18% tip which was an extra 13.00$. I wouldn't mind tipping that if my nails looked remotely close to the picture I showed her. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING THERE TO GET NAILS DONE. The massage therapists had a bit of an English barrier so we showed them on the website which massage we'd like to purchase. The price was $295. The massage wasn't great, but not awful. The room was very cold. At the end the massage therapist handed me the credit card machine to pay and the total was $385. I asked her why the discrepancy and she said that tax and tip was included in the price. I had always intended on leaving a tip, but it was strange to me that there was also a tax. When we got back to our hotel room, I looked up to see that there is no tax permitted on massage services in Miami. The next day I checked my credit card statement and saw that I was not just charged $385 but I was charged $411!! I called the spa and was told that there was an additional 3% fee for using my credit card. No one told me this when I called to Book the appointment. The manager told me that she would refund me the extra charges. She blamed the new employees on the error... she acknowledged that because I booked over the phone I wasn't subject to the 3% fee stated on their website because nobody informed me when I called the book. I said that I wanted to give a 20% tip on the service that was $295. It's been two weeks and I still have not received the refund on the extra charges and I will be taking this up with my credit card company. If you're thinking about coming here, don't fall for the reviews that tell you this is the best massage place in the area. The massages were very mediocre as was the spa and I won't be returning again. Make sure to check your credit card statement!!

Unfortunately, because of the unseasonably cool weather, the hotel had not opened the pool which pretty much made the spa the only option for anyone else who had purchased the resort pass too, and I'm just not sure the facilities were up to that task. The spa itself had a relaxation area, which was three lounge chairs in the room with a hot tub and a cold tub. In the room next to that, there was a dry sauna, a wet sauna, and a shower. I'm not a huge fan of the dry sauna, dry heat isn't really my thing, but I did rather like the wet sauna room. It was nice and large, and the hot steamy air felt great on my poor frozen winter storm lungs. The cold plunge pool is also not my thing, but the hot tub was awesome, but it had a couple of pretty huge problems. The first was that it was up a flight of stairs. Everyone in our party has limited mobility in some fashion and One of our party uses a walker and isn't super mobile at all, so it was very difficult to actually make it to the hot tub. Might have been nice to know it wasn't actually accessible before we booked the spa. Luckily, even though she isn't super mobile, she is able to haul herself very slowly up stairs, provided it has a nice sturdy railing... Which it did have a railing... unfortunately the railing was completely loose at the bottom and not particularly sturdy since it was only partially connected. It had stone steps, and due to the nature of the room, they were a bit wet so they had nonskid stickers on them, but it had unfortunately peeled up and was mostly loose. Ultimately, our friend ended up using us as the steady banister to get up the stairs, but that probably wasn't any safer since it wasn't like we had anything to hold onto because again... slippery stairs and loose banister. We made it up safely, and then try to get in the hot tub. The tub itself is square, has a ladder railing, but we couldn't actually see any ladder steps, so we kind of had to guess where was safe to get in the pool. Being the most mobile of the group, I ended up sitting on the edge of the tub and feeling around with my feet until I figured out that the tub has three walls with stone benches around it that we could step on and get in. We only actually figured out after getting out that the pool had sunken footholds in the wall, not an actual ladder. Never would have found those getting in, but learn from our ignorance. The hot tub is awesome, the jets were great and absolutely the thing we needed after the plane flight and freezing winter storms, but everyone else felt that way too, so we were unable to get back in it again like we would have liked. We ended up heading out earlier than we intended and just sitting outside for the rest of our stay. Overall, the place is small, which makes it hit or miss as to whether or not you can use the facilities, which makes it hit or miss as to whether it is a good value for the day pass. You are taken to the back by one of the employees who explains where the lockers are and then gives you a tour of all of the different water amenities that they have. I love the Jacuzzi with the cold plunge pool right next to it. I also do enjoy all of the different sauna steam showers that they have. The muscles there are awesome. I had a deep tissue massage this time which was amazing. I love that you're able to go to the pool and enjoy lunch while enjoying your spa services. I'll definitely be back.

I arrived a bit early and was able to move my service up. Attendants were all helpful and lovely. The spa was very clean and sanitized. It was an early in the day so I basically had it to my self (which I loved!) . After my massage I spent the next few hours enjoying the steam rooms and minimal pools. I left feeling relaxed and satisfied with my experience. Will return and try to make it a girls spa day soon!

The other highlight was our massage experience, Eddy, my technician was extremely professional and talented, the best massage I have ever had, so thank you, Eddy! Lastly, the person who scheduled our services over email, Karla Gutierrez, who was very professional and capable. What did not work: Upon checking in, the lady at the counter (in the spa) was unable to provide a breakdown of charges and had a hard time establishing eye contact. Maybe assumptions were made, which is the only explanation I could come up with based on her behavior. Ultimately I gave up and asked for a receipt. My questions were simple, I paid in advance (a deposit) how is it applied? Do they take off the difference? Or do they reimburse and charge again? She was unable to answer. I have her name in my receipt, but I chose to omit it as anyone can have a bad day. My guest and I proceeded to compare facilities with other well known spas: Lapis at the Fontainebleau and Tierra Santa at Faena- which charge similar rates. Let me tell you, the Standard is very subpar in 1) hospitality and 2) Vibe and decor. The standard's decor is art deco and while I understand the look, the place just seemed old. There is only one station for hair drying/makeup in the locker room, the water in my shower was cold, although my guest's was fine. The Hammam stone was use for towel storage as you will see in picture. No guest is shown in the image and I decided to take the picture because I could not believe it and for this review. There was constant walking in and out of the Hammam (by the staff) to replenish, you guessed it, towels, which made the experience far from relaxing. For the price I was expecting much more. We ended up leaving early without using all the services, but we did walk to the sauna, which seemed nice, but it was super full, and the ice room, which was underwhelming. We will not return, hopefully they can give this place a make over and the staff some training.
