The service here was pretty great, the concierge was wonderful and all of the people we came across were great. The facilities themselves were just okay. If you were traveling for work and staying at this hotel, and needed a day to just forget that everyone existed, this would be great for that. My friends and I flew down from Richmond during a crazy winter storm and decided to get a day pass here among other things. The day pass included spa access during their open hours, as well as pool access. Unfortunately, because of the unseasonably cool weather, the hotel had not opened the pool which pretty much made the spa the only option for anyone else who had purchased the resort pass too, and I'm just not sure the facilities were up to that task. The spa itself had a relaxation area, which was three lounge chairs in the room with a hot tub and a cold tub. In the room next to that, there was a dry sauna, a wet sauna, and a shower. I'm not a huge fan of the dry sauna, dry heat isn't really my thing, but I did rather like the wet sauna room. It was nice and large, and the hot steamy air felt great on my poor frozen winter storm lungs. The cold plunge pool is also not my thing, but the hot tub was awesome, but it had a couple of pretty huge problems. The first was that it was up a flight of stairs. Everyone in our party has limited mobility in some fashion and One of our party uses a walker and isn't super mobile at all, so it was very difficult to actually make it to the hot tub. Might have been nice to know it wasn't actually accessible before we booked the spa. Luckily, even though she isn't super mobile, she is able to haul herself very slowly up stairs, provided it has a nice sturdy railing... Which it did have a railing... unfortunately the railing was completely loose at the bottom and not particularly sturdy since it was only partially connected. It had stone steps, and due to the nature of the room, they were a bit wet so they had nonskid stickers on them, but it had unfortunately peeled up and was mostly loose. Ultimately, our friend ended up using us as the steady banister to get up the stairs, but that probably wasn't any safer since it wasn't like we had anything to hold onto because again... slippery stairs and loose banister. We made it up safely, and then try to get in the hot tub. The tub itself is square, has a ladder railing, but we couldn't actually see any ladder steps, so we kind of had to guess where was safe to get in the pool. Being the most mobile of the group, I ended up sitting on the edge of the tub and feeling around with my feet until I figured out that the tub has three walls with stone benches around it that we could step on and get in. We only actually figured out after getting out that the pool had sunken footholds in the wall, not an actual ladder. Never would have found those getting in, but learn from our ignorance. The hot tub is awesome, the jets were great and absolutely the thing we needed after the plane flight and freezing winter storms, but everyone else felt that way too, so we were unable to get back in it again like we would have liked. We ended up heading out earlier than we intended and just sitting outside for the rest of our stay. Overall, the place is small, which makes it hit or miss as to whether or not you can use the facilities, which makes it hit or miss as to whether it is a good value for the day pass. This is, in my humble opinion, one of the best and most relaxing spas in Miami Beach. I've been here a few times, either for the sole purpose of using the spa and hotel amenities and other times to get massages (Tanya is AMAZING). They also have a Tea Ceremony at 2pm which adds to the luxury vibe. The relaxation Lounge offers a couple of complimentary nibbles (e.g. mixed nuts with dried fruit), cold water, and hot tea. Food is not allowed in the spa but there's a few options in the beautiful Eden Roc hotel, from full on restaurant, to small plates at the bar lounge or Cafe Ines for a happy medium. A word to the wise: the spa is under renovation so sometimes some of the amenities are not working (hot tub, sauna, etc). If you don't want to be disappointed make sure you call ahead and ask. I'm looking forward to see how everything looks when it's finished because the new steam room is lovely. read more

Very disappointing and poorly managed experience. The spa does not meet expected standards: the facilities are unappealing and there is a strong smell of humidity throughout. I booked a massage for myself and my 16-year-old daughter during our stay at the hotel. We were explicitly instructed to arrive one hour early to enjoy the spa facilities, which we did and planned our entire day around. Upon arrival, my daughter was denied access, despite no age policy being mentioned at the time of booking. She is accustomed to spa environments (we even have one at home) and was accompanied by me, her mother. The lack of transparency and the manager's arrogant handling of the situation made the experience extremely frustrating. I sincerely hope you clarify your policies and better train your staff to ensure other guests do not experience the same situation. read more

So I did the resort pass for this spa specifically and I would never change it for any other place. The amount of quality quantity for your money goes very very far. They give you a locker robe all the essentials that you need for when you take a shower. They have a sauna, a shower room to die for, an steam room all next to each other. On top of that, you get a cold plunge and a Jacuzzi. Including access to the pool and beach. The quality the service the atmosphere all amazing. Only thing I will point out is that there are multiple poles to go to the ones that you see first tend to be full of kids and families so if you want something a little bit more private keep looking for other pools to get a little bit of that peace and quiet. Use the beach use the pool it's Miami Beach so it was great. It was a staycation without even having to get a room. Would I consider getting a room? Absolutely because I've stayed at the Eden Roc before and it's always good. read more

We took advantage of August Spa month. I had my massage with Katy, and wow, she was amazing ! She explained to me how everything was going to go, and even offered additional services such as stone massage or the use of CBD massage oils for an additional fee. Katy is amazing , great customer service and truly knows how to upsell. In the locker rooms they offer good sized lockers, jacuzzi and cold water therapy. They also have four point showers, sauna, and regular showers. Robes and Sandals are provided. Once you are done with your massage, you may go out and enjoy the rest of the day by the numerous number of pools they have available. Parking is not included, only paying hotel in room guests are offered parking, we were told to park in the lot located next to the hotel. read more

I was skeptical with all of the negative reviews here, but my sister and I had the best time! We called the morning of to make an appt for their spa month massage special which was a 50 min massage for $129. Luis did my massage and it was great! He focused on the areas which I asked and left me very relaxed. Definitely worth it! We were also able to use their relaxation room, hot tub, steam room, sauna and pool area during our time at the spa! I loved the flavored water and the ambience of the relaxation room. The only improvement would be I wish they served food inside the spa; if you wanted to order food, it would be poolside. They did give 10% off food items to all spa guests. The spa space is small so it's hard to imagine we would have had the same experience on a weekend. Definitely good during the week! You won't be disappointed! read more

This was a totally relaxing day on Miami Beach thanks to Esencia Wellness Spa. My boyfriend bought me a couples massage for my birthday. When you buy a massage package it comes with a day pass to use the Eden Roc's beach access and pools, as well as discounted valet. We started the day at the beach bright and early at 10am since our massage was at 3pm and we wanted the most bang for our buck. Because we got there early we were able to get beach chairs right in front of the ocean. The waters here are so gorgeous and clean! No seaweed and no rocks in the sand. They do offer beachside service for food and drink. I did get a little frustrated that the servers never came to us for our drink orders. My boyfriend had to go up to the deck to request our drinks both times. We each had two drinks, I had a pina coloda and a mai thai (keeping it classic) and my boyfriend had the Miami Vice and something like a mojito but way more bitter. I think my drinks were better I must say. Something to note is they added 22% tip to the bill, which again I found frustrating consider my boyfriend had to seek service rather than them coming to us. We eventually moved to the pool which had a DJ playing on the side. The DJ was playing major bangers and was honestly better than some of the DJ's at spots in Wynwood. He was def bringing the vibes. The pool was also very clean and big. They have 3 pools and none of them were particularly packed. A potential downside is the large hotel building kind of blocks the sun from getting to the pool. So I wouldn't recommend expecting poolside tanning. Now for the actual massage, the spa has amazing locker rooms and they let you set up your own lock code to access your things as needed and know they are protected. The locks did act up a bit though and eventually, I had to use a new locker. The locker rooms are also split between men and women, so there are gender-specific sauna, jacuzzi, and showers. After changing into our robes, we were escorted to our massage room. The massage therapists were very kind and asked us a lot of questions to understand what we wanted from our massage. It is a shiastu massage, but I felt like it wasn't very deep at all and it was just for relaxation. I feel like I've gotten better massages in my lifetime (the best from the Mayfair in the grove). Afterwards, we did go to the relaxation room and they gave us a glass of champagne for my birthday so I really appreciated that. Afterwards, we showered to get ready for dinner. The locker rooms have everything including body lotion, shaving cream, deodarant, combs, and a hair dryer. I also asked for q-tips and a hair tie and they were able to provide them for me. Overall I think this was a great experience that I'll remember for a long time. The beachside service definitely knocked down a star as well as just the quality of the massage did not seem to be enough for a massage veteran like myself. I would recommend this for a relaxing experience and I would probably even want to book a stay at the Eden Roc itself in the future. read more

(It's been awhile since my last massage.) He makes up for all of my other service complaints about the spa and the resort. (After I checked in, I was escorted by a male to the door of the women's locker room where "someone inside will greet you." It was empty. Over five minutes later, an employee walked in. TLDR: Overall, there definitely needs to be more people working the spa outside of the masseurs, and the spa could use a little TLC to the amenities and details to bring it up to par with others in the area (that are the same pricepoint). The service at the Esencia was lacking. The woman at the front desk was not very pleasant and did not provide us with much helpful information on the spa or next steps to use the facilities. The whole process to enter was very unorganized. Once inside the spa, it seemed there was only one woman working the entire area. She did not give us an appropriate tour so we were kind of left to fend for ourselves. I can't blame her because there were a few others that arrived at the same time as us and she was a bit overwhelmed with folks asking for towels, for lockers, and I noticed her later even mopping the floors- she definitely needs help in there. Oh, the towel situation... there was nothing set out to dry your hands after using the restroom (no paper towels, regular towels, or hand dryer), and we were given one towel for the entire day which we had to stick with whether we were drying off after the plunge pools, the steam room, or after taking a shower. The towels were not replenished in our time there. Also, the amenities were not 100% functional. The sauna and steamroom both only got a little warm, at best. The floor in the plunge pool area was soaked, probably because no one had any towels to use. On a side note, I was hoping to use the fitness center and was told the spa is the fitness center. At the end of the day upon leaving the spa, I noticed a locked door with the words fitness center on it, but was not given any information about this area. The biggest pro in our experience was access to the hotel pool and beach chairs, so we spent the majority of the day here vs. enjoying the spa amenities. The massage room was actually nice for me with a heated table and comfortable setting; however, my friend's room was a bit different and her massage table was not heated so she was a bit chilly her entire massage. Having been to other luxury spas, this experience was extremely disappointing. I came with my mother for a massage and pedicure. Both of our pedicures were fine, nothing special for the price but totally content. I called twice before appt to verify the time and did not get back to me until after my massage. Instead, they called me twice during my pedicure to verify an appointment that was ongoing, which was disruptive. While my moms massage was great, mine was simply bad. She spent more time washing her hands and fiddling around than actually massaging me. When she was doing the massage, it was ticklish and not a swedish massage. Finally, we purchased an 80 minute massage but I was only in the room for 65-70 minutes. If you're willing to pay the amount, go to another spa!! however, if you are coming, my mom had Sebastian (masseuse) and Tasha (Nail technician), who were both great! read more

The Spa at the Eden Roc even with its current construction and slight inconveniences is still among my favorites, but sadly this last visit was a disappointment and should be noted to anyone booking future massages. The spa facilities are nicely developed. The décor was aesthetically pleasing and relaxing, the service was pleasant and the deal was phenomenal (80 minutes for $107) The relaxation room is a bright open space with lots of white, distressed wood tones, green mossy areas and natural lighting that comes in from the large bay windows overlooking the outside. All is conducive to a nice, relaxing environment as you wait for your therapist to come for you. While you wait, there's yogurt covered pretzels- a definite highlight to my visit so make sure to try some! BUTTTTTTTT.....my biggest gripe which was my one major disappointment on this visit was the "turquoise room" where my massage was done- it's by the POOL, and pool on a Saturday mid-day is not a good idea! Some people can tune things out, but a person like me zones in on the distraction and it totally throws me off. So while I lay there in my state of numbness- my mind constantly kept wandering to the loud cheers coming from the pool and I found myself silently singing along to the Pitbull songs playing outside. At one point, my therapist blasted the spa music to volume: MAXIMUM and I could STILL hear the pool noises from inside the spa room. I don't recall this from my first visit to this spa which is why I'm still holding hope it's just THAT room on THIS day- In either case, it ruined what could've been an opportunity for me to have slept like a baby....waaaaaaah! While getting a massage at another hotel for the Miami Spa month, the masseur there recommended me to try this spa, so I decided to book it for my grand finale of this year's Spa month. Of course, I didn't expect a tropical storm brewing on my spa day, and even though I booked the time thinking I would have a chance to relax before my appointment, I ended up running late in the torrential downpour and lightning. There is a public parking lot next to the hotel, but I gladly paid the $10 valet (after validation, and not bad compare to Fontainebleu's $17). Walking in, the staff helpfully asked the spa concierge to take me straight to my masseuse so I won't lose any massage time, and told me that they would bring the robes and slippers to my room later. That's impressive service, as it's not their fault I run late and they totally didn't have to do that, to help me get my full 50 min of massage. My masseuse was Elainie, a very nice grandmotherly (the impression more for her kind, caring manner, not her age) lady from Russia. She asked if there was any area I want to work on, she inquired if the room was too cold, if I wanted my bed's heat turned on (yes!!), if the pressure was right... making sure I was totally comfortable. I got the hot roc massage, and her stroke was firm but smooth, and I felt aches dissolving in areas I didn't even know I was aching. After the massage she came back with a lovely cup of tea on a tray. She even offered to carry my shoes (as I didn't have time for the locker room), a generous gesture I turned down. After the excellent massage I had time to explore around. The co-ed lounge area is beautiful in white, plenty of sofas and reclining chairs scattered in the spacious room, so you can have several groups here and not feel the privacy intruded. There is even a fireplace to enhance the cozy vibe. There is iced tea along with nuts and pretzels, as well as magazines. But instead of reading, it's nicer to just sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the garden (and a glimpse of ocean) outside. There is a cold pool and a jacuzzi pool with changing color lights, sauna and steam room. Nothing that exactly wows, like the rain room in Fontainebleau or the rain shower with sound and light effects in Canyon Range, but overall, pretty good facilities compare to other spas in Miami. Not to mention everything works perfectly, which can't be said of every place. BTW, if you check in on Yelp, there is an offer for an exfoliation bar. But it's really an exfoliation cream the spa concierge blends for you to be used at the spa and not a bar you can take with you. read more

I bought a Gilt for an 80 minute Swedish massage and was thrilled with my experience. Ever since Spa Month last year I've been craving a good Spa day like the one I had at the Lapis Spa at Fountainbleu. While I liked that place (it is much larger and have a little bit more ammenities), it was quite packed and noisy. Almost "Club like" atmosphere than serene, which is what I was looking for today. Fortunately, Eden Roc was very tranquil and relaxing. After checking in, I put my things away in the locker room and slipped into my robe and slippers. I was escorted to the relaxation room to wait until my service starts. The relaxation room faces the pools and the beach, featured an actual fire place, and has water, tea, green apples and yogurt covered pretzels to snack on. I cuddled under a cozy blanket and read some books while drinking tea while waiting for my massage. The massage was perfect. The therapist made sure I was comfortable at all times. The table was heated. The room was a comfortable temperature. I think I fell asleep twice! After my service, I enjoyed the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. Incredibly relaxing. I just finished getting the 90 minute South Beach Revival Body Treatment with Eliana, my message therapist who is a wonderful warm human being that took great care of me. She took absolutely no short cuts in making me feel totally comfortable and extremely relaxed. When she first came to greet me in the lounge, she immediately made an impression with a cheerful but sincere welcome and escorted me to my treatment room. Before she got started, she asked me if I had any health issues or allergies that I would like to share. Then she proceeded to review what we will do and asked if I had any questions. I did and she very graciously answered everything. My treatment started with a full body exfoliation, followed by a mud wrap. This was my first time getting this kind of treatment and I would highly recommend it. It's very cleansing and relaxing. I showered off before returning to the table for a full body message head to toe. I literally felt time melted away. I am so very thankful for Eliana's attention to details and that she really spent her time on making me feel my best. I mentioned in the beginning how I always have pain in my shoulder, neck and back area and she was more then willing to focus on those areas. Took me awhile to write this review as I really don't like leaving negative ones. However we came here on our first wedding anniversary! For starters the AC was out in the building so it was super hott in the relaxation room. Everything was broken as well we couldn't use any of the amenities within the spa. I have had many massages in my life but the girl who did mine must not have been experienced. I had tingling in my hands I did not feel relaxed at all and i don't think i was positioned correctly on the table. I think this is important to address that people who are giving you a massage are experienced and make you feel comfortable. Which i don't feel was the case. I only write this to hopefully have you address these situations to avoid any future issues like this. Also pretty expensive and was def not worth it. read more

After my 80 mins Swedish massage, I was greeted with a glass of bubbly to enjoy as I utilized the amenities. The spa is very clean and peaceful throughout. Terrible-this spa is pretending to be something they are not. Stains on ceiling looking up from my treatment bed, the "quiet room" had a man in shorts and a tee shirt sitting around, and there were people talking on cell phones. No one recommended removing jewelry and it got caught in the therapists hands constantly. The relaxation room looking over the ocean had maybe 6 lounge chairs that were overbooked, and the rest were oddly arranged chairs staring at the door. There was also a server coming in and out to refill the carafe of hot water for the special "tea leaves"- what a joke. I was also sent during our stay a &25.00 "coupon"'if we booked a treatment" yet no one conveniently mentioned this at check out. Additionally I had my 14 yo daughter for a weekend away- After giving us both a tour of the facilities, management told us that actually she was not allowed to use any one of them because of her age yet this was not mentioned anywhere beforehand. (but the $185 facial was ok? seriously?) Management was clearly unqualified and inexperienced. I definitely had high expectations given the reputation of the hotel but I will never go back or recommend this spa. read more

Miami is considered one of America's party destinations. I personally love visiting Miami for the complete opposite, it's tranquility. Hotels with a laid back pool atmosphere, semi secluded beaches, and a quality spa are the qualities I seek when making reservations, and If there was one aspect of Eden Roc I was looking to forward to experiencing upon my return stay, it was definitely the Spa. I booked two treatments at the Eden Roc Renissance my last stay 12 years ago. A full body massage, and a treatment that exclusively focused on the head, neck, and shoulders. It seemed as if the treatments got better with the following visit. The full body massage was okay, but the head, neck, and shoulder treatment was heavenly. That trend carried over to my recent visit. The entire spa experience met our expectations. From the minute we were greeted, to the very moment we left the hotel, the staff and service at the spa were phenomenal. We arrived and was escorted to our respective locker rooms to change into our robes, and slippers provided by the spa. I was then escorted to the relaxation room that overlooked the pool grounds, with views of the beach. I could have stayed, and had my treatment in this room. It was a quait atmosphere with plenty of refreshments. From here, my therapist escorts me back to the treatment room. I received a soothing full body treatment that for 50 minutes, melted the stress away and transported me to the land of relaxation. From life's daily grind, work relateted tension, to my aching back and legs from rocking twins to sleep for 19 month, it was as if the therapist knew where every stress knot, and tight muscle resided on my body. She knew when to apply the right amount of pressure and when to use a gentle touch on the appropriate spots. Once my treatment unfortunately came to an end, I was led back to the relaxation room where I spent a few moments taking in that beautiful view of the hotel grounds. Since my wife booked a longer treatment I returned to the locker room for some further relaxation in the sauna, steam room, hot tub, and cold bath. I find these amenities to be just as important as the massage treatments, and in true Eden Roc fashion it was fantastic. I remembere the locker room ammenties being great prior to the renovations, and they were still great; just more spacious. Once my wife was done, she wanted to checkout and spend some time at the pool prior to departing the hotel. The staff at the spa informed us that we could return and use the facilities to shower and change prior to our departure. I am not sure what it is about this place and spacious showers but if you're not a fan of open showers in most gym locker rooms, the showers at the Spa provide the ultimate privacy with a depth that allows one to shower on one end, and change into your dry clothes on the other; in complete privacy. My wife and I book spa Spas throughout our travels. Or visit to the Eden Roc has to be one of our all time favorite experiences. The level of detail put into making sure you are in a relaxed state of mind prior to, and after your massage is evident in the decour, the staff, and the facilities. My boyfriend surprised me with a couples massage for my birthday at Esencia Wellness Spa, and it was the most incredible experience! From the moment we dropped the car off at the valet, to checking in with Vicky in the front desk, to being escorted to the lockers, to the massage, to spending the day at the pool and beach, everything was spectacular. Vicky at the front desk knew it was my birthday so she made sure to make the experience extra special. We had full access to the hotels amenities including beach chairs, poolside chairs, as well as full access to all of the amazing spa amenities for the entire day. We really enjoyed spending time in the relaxation room overlooking the ocean, and after our massage we took advantage of the baths, sauna, steam room, and all other resources in the locker rooms. The massage was absolutely spectacular, starting of with a very relaxing scrub, followed by full body massage, all including aromatherapy. The staff was extremely professional and so caring and dedicating to providing the best service, this hotel definitely stands out from all the other beachfront hotels and spa in Miami Beach. The "spa" at Eden Roc definitely disappointed me coming from spas in NY that have a lot more amenities. The spa has no shared pools for men and women, which is fine. There are two pools, a hot tub and a cold bath, there is one sauna, one wood dry sauna. The communal room is what hit the spot for me. The room overlooks Eden Rocs hotel, and since it was raining that day I cuddled up in a blanket next to the fireside and watched Miami pour. The yogurt pretzels were also great. If you are a hotel guest, prices are $25 for a day pass, but you don't get the same robes or sandals as customers who aren't guests( you get white robes instead of brown ones, you also get towel slippers instead of plastic ones which kind of disappointed me) Honestly the spa was whatever, I'm not sure why the reviews rave about it. However, I didn't purchase any massages so maybe they made the spa worth it for others read more

We stayed at the Eden Roc for a girls weekend and booked three appointments, two facials and a massage. The environment is great and the therapists were amazing; however, they have now started charging a resort fee on top of the price. So, for a $108 facial (it was spa month otherwise it is $180), they tack on 20%. So now it's about $128 and that does NOT go to the therapist for a tip! So normally i would give a $20, but now so ce they tack that on, i left only $10 as a tip! Because a $108 massage now ended up costing me $140! I love the Exen Roc but the resort fee tacked on to the food, the massages, the facials, the drinks, on top of already paying a resort fee per night and $44 a night parking! I will not stay here or go to this spa again because of that. Sad because it is a lovely place. read more

It was my absolute favorite gym with spa perks. It is now more of a spa with gym perks. Classes are only offered several times a week I have been told. I made an appointment for a wash and blowout for 12:30pm and planned my day around it. I figured I would lounge poolside and head to the spa minutes before my blowout (20 minutes to be exact) for a quick shower and then straight to the blowout. 12:10pm I arrived, checked in and was told I was too early. As the hostess spoke, she signaled me with her hand (like when you shoo a fly away?). She said " Well, hmm, maybe you can wait over there until they are ready for you." I was standing in the small store/front desk area. I turned to look and see where I was being "shoo-ed" to. There was nothing there. Given I came straight from the pool, I said "Well, I was hoping to use the facility for a shower since I am getting a service here" to which she replied " If you want, you can use the facilities for $35.00." "You mean a $ 35.00 shower ?" I replied. After all, it's all I wanted to do. I don't think she liked that reply and now I was annoyed. As I stood there with my bathing suit on, I decided to run back to my room (on the other side of the resort), shower there, and rush back in time to somehow make it for my 12:30pm appt. I checked briefly at the spa brochure in my room which said " Spa fee is waived when you book a spa treatment." Nowhere does it say "unless it's hair, because if that's the case you are S-O-L and you have to haul your as* back to your room." But really, what was I going to do with the spa amenities that was so forbidden with the limited time I had? Get my hair blown out and then go into the steam room, hot tub or sauna? Sneak into a massage room? Ridiculous. Ran back, showered and made it back by 12:33pm. Sigh. Stressed. The original hostess was no longer there. Someone else checked me in again and walked me to the salon which is right next to the nail station. Maybe nail salon users get to use the facilities? Hmmm... The stylist then mentions that she is running 10 minutes late and if I would not mind leaving and coming back. I could not help myself and I snapped " No, I already left and came back!" Then I caught myself, spared her the story and luckily this new host, much nicer host , told me not to worry. He said he would take me not only to the relaxation room, but also on a tour of the facilities since I used to be a member. Well, waddayaknow? Isn't that nice? I mean, it was REALLY nice. I enjoyed seeing how much was done during the remodeling and the new heavenly relaxation room. Was that so hard for the first hostess to do? It would have taken me 5 minutes to shower and just do what I was doing now: wait in the relaxation room instead of standing around in the shop. For now, Elle Spa, get it together. If hair clients are going to be exempt from enjoying the facilities, then specify so when appointments are made and IN WRITING on your brochure. I spa. A lot. And this is the first time I have heard something so ridiculous. The only exceptions at other locations have been when a hair/nail salon are detached from the hotel & property. When they are under the same roof and you are paying $90.00 for a blow dry it should not be an issue if one wants to use the holy shower or lounge. Like I said, the location is spectacular. If you are in the gym area you face the pool/ocean side (much like it did before when it was a more of a gym). The facilities are beautifully designed with pebbled rocks on floors, homey furniture, warm woods and attention to detail. It did not seem to be too busy when I was there, even though it was a Saturday. The blowout was very well done and the stylist was very nice ultimately making it a great experience. I believe they are still expanding and only being held back due to some Miami Beach permits. Shocker. Not. I look forward to visiting in the future and see how they have evolved. read more

Booked a massage for Miami Spa Month. The booking process was easy and me and my friend arrived early to use the facilities which include a Jacuzzi, an ice bath, a sauna, and a steam room. We went to the jacuzzi first and after the jacuzzi we got our massages, which were great. After the massage we proceeded to the steam room and sauna as the masseuse advised me that it would be best to go in there to help the CBD oil absorbing to my skin. We first tried the steam room which was not hot at all so we tried the sauna. We sat in there for about ten minutes and it never got even remotely warm even though it was one before we even got in, so we decided to go to the pool and not waste time. After our time at the pool when we returned to the spa, one of the workers informed us that the Sauna and steam rooms aren't working because engineering is waiting for a replacement part. This would have been nice to know during booking. We felt robbed of a great spa experience. When we mentioned it to the front desk woman she said that everything was working fine and tried to show us that it was. After some time she saw that it was not working. Now as I went back to read reviews on yelp I saw that two months ago the same issues were happening yet they tried to pretend that this wasn't a problem while we were at the spa nor did they advise us before booking our massages and spa experience. Overall it seemed the spa was short staffed. Check in took a really long time, no one ever gave us any sort of tour of the spa or the amenities and there were used towels and dirty glasses throughout that weren't cleaned for hours. also, it should be noted that at the pool there was no music playing. When we inquired about music they told us the equipment was broken that day. Overall, I spent my day wishing I booked another spa. I would not recommend this spa for a full experience. Though Maria gave me a great massage. However it was under 50 minutes (more like 40ish). This is not what I expected for a highly rated hotel. read more

The Spa at Eden Roc did not disappoint. Actually, I take that back, we did have a small issue with the lady who was showing us the locker rooms. She seemed a little abrasive and after showing us the locker rooms, just stood there and watched us change. Besides this, we had a wonderfully relaxing time. The spa is very big and my friends and I loved the relaxation lounge. Nothing beats lying down and having an amazing view of the pool and beach. Gorgeous! I had the 90 minute hot stone massage and it was heavenly. 90 minutes is definitely a good amount of time for a massage so you're not left wanting more. read more

Terrible experience, terrible customer service (i.e., managerial wise), huge waste of time and money. Went here for a bachelorette spa day with my girls due to the high reviews. While the spa itself was nice, there were two people having sex in the spa waiting room IN FRONT of us. As the hostess, I was so embarrassed. While I understand some "urges" can't be helped, the way management handled it was really weird and offensive. They basically said they'd check the camera and then came back and said they "didn't have any security footage (tons of cameras right outside the courtyard though/mirrors in the waiting room thought and why "check the cameras" to come back and say there was no camera footage? ‍ )"; the manager (a man) attempted to gaslight the situation by brushing it off and asking my friend, "are you sure that was what you saw?" Yeah...pretty sure grown people know what that looks like.... Yes, I understand what people do can't be 100% controlled, yes, I understand how it can be "funny" in theory but at the end of the day--there are people in this world with past sexual trauma that don't want to see people unexpectedly having sex in front of them, is that so much to ask? Sheesh! The manager's gaslighting made it 10x worse. I really would have appreciated a relaxing day with my friends sans drama. Excellent customer service. The staff at the front desk are great, friendly hospitable and are on top of things. The masseuse did a great job with the aromatherapy and asking questions about areas to focus. The wine and snacks are good. Tips: spend the entire day to enjoy the facility. My partner and I had an amazing spa evening here yesterday. It started as a day at the beach where we then tried to figure out what we wanted to do with the rest of our evening. We realized it was Miami Spa Month and decided to take advantage of it. Simone from the front desk at the Spa At Eden Roc answered on the second ring and was incredibly helpful and descriptive with booking, which we did very easily. The spa is beautiful and sprawling in a great way. You can really lose yourself in the impeccably decorated corridors complete with wall niches, soft lighting, and tasteful plantings. It's sort of like a futurist Moorish vibe, and very chic. The spa facilities were under VERY minor renovation (i.e. it looked like a little bit of drywall work was going on.) We really like that the bathing areas of the spa were not co-ed, and we enjoyed using the plunge pools and both wet and dry saunas. After an hour or so, someone came in and took us to another very beautiful room decorated with fig trees and a working fireplace, where we waited for our massage therapists. We had chosen the Bali-style hot stone massages, and while I'm normally not a fan of light/relaxing massages (I have a lot of knots I need worked out!) this one was very enjoyable and the hot stones did help release some tension. The therapist also did go a little deeper in the places I indicated, and both therapists were very friendly and professional. The shower facilities were incredible after the massage. I'm dying to renovate my house to include showers like this. Even though we were there at the very tail end of the spa being open, they didn't rush us out which is huge (I hate that my very pricey gym, Equinox, does this sometimes.) All in all, it was an A++++ experience, and we'd recommend it to anyone. I regret not booking a massage at the Fountainbleu Hotel for a couples massage. I feel disappointed in my experience thus far at the Esencia Wellness Spa, which is why I'm writing the review in the spa as I wait on my massage. Thankfully my husband is having a good experience overall because it is his birthday. He's able to have a good experience because the amenities still work in the male locker room. In the women's locker room, no amenities (sauna, jacuzzi, etc.) work so I just have access to the relaxation room, which is great. However, all throughout the spa, there are also water leaks, including in the relaxation room. I know that these are issues out of the spa's control....it's just disappointing and I feel as though it would have been a better experience at a different place to at least have working amenities. I come mostly for the amenities when I attend spas, which may be different than other people. Another disappointment happened as my husband and I were headed to get what we hoped was a couples massage. The spa called to inform me that I made a mistake while booking online and I only booked for one person, but in a couples treatment room. They told me that we couldn't get a couples massage because of this, which is fair. I didn't understand their online booking system. However, I wish we would have known about the mistake at least a day in advanced so that we could have gotten a couples massage or cancelled. Thankfully, the spa still booked a second massage and my husband and I would go one right after the other. I appreciated their accommodations in making sure that we both still received massages. Tanya's hands have the Midas touch! I had the deep tissue massage and OMG. I wish it didn't end... The spa and wellness center also has day passes for folks who want to experience the classes. Classical Yoga on the beach was my fav. Sujal is an amazing instructor. In the BOX, kicked my behind, however Alvin made it fun and def reminded me of muscles I had that i don't use often. Highly recommend if you are local or traveling to the area. The hotel even has amazing farm to table food to complete the overall wellness experience. read more
