Torta Caprese was so smooth and yummy.

We just had to go back to enjoy the Fazzoletti di Pere again for lunch last Friday! It was every bit as good as last time. My daughter loved it! I tried the Salmone Teriyaky this time and it was simply amazing. The flavors were incredible. I loved it. Our server was Rosario, who was excellent and took good care of us. The ambiance was cozy and nostalgic. The decor and furnishings are fabulous. It was fun to go back!

I wanted to come in and update my review since it's been a while. I recently came in for lunch and the entire experience was terrific. I had actually never been for lunch before, and I'm so glad I went. I took time to make a video review, so be sure to check that out.

Didn't live up to expectations! We walked in at 7pm on a Friday night to it being completely empty, which was a bit strange. I ordered the pasta with the fresh catch of the day, and my friend ordered the ravioli. While the ravioli was unique and enjoyable, the pasta (pictured below) really fell short. I had heard very good things about this spot but this felt like a below average pasta, far too Al dente, and lacked flavor. Ambience would have been nice and quirky but as the front wall is open to the street, we sat sweating through the entire meal (even after relocating to a seat with some coverage from the 2 lone small fans), and I left with 16 mosquito bites on my legs. Please use some mosquito- repellent techniques or pump up the AC to make your guests more comfortable!

The Soya e Pomodoro Italian Restaurant's motto is "Simple food, made with love". You can find authentic Italian dishes in this one of the best kept secret Italian cuisine spot in Downtown Miami. Almost everything that they serve here is really good. Appetizers, salads, pastas, entrees, desserts, drinks and coffees are all good! Service is awesome as they really take good care of their guests like family. The restaurant have a charming, romantic, rustic, cozy, old trattoria ambiance, with a touch of Napoli vibes, and adorned with antiques, books, paintings, colorful furnitures, in the century old, high ceiling former bank building. Melanzane Alla Parmigiana, Spaghetti Chitarra Alla Bolognese, Pappardelle con Gamberi e Pistachio, and Tiramisu are must haves for me. Live Jazz music at night and a wonderful dish and drink, a perfect combination. Chef Christian's is always doing a fantastic job to make your dining experience in his restaurant a memorable one. Check it out!

A wonderful experience and I really can't believe it was my first time! Living in downtown, I've passed by this spot so many times and have never made my way over. I finally made it happen today and loved it so much! To start, this venue, is cozy and intimate. Perfect for date nights, catching up with friends, a birthday dinner or just a bite alone to people watch and enjoy live music (which I think is only on the weekends but I could be wrong hehe). We ordered the bruschetta classica, mushroom ravioli, fazzoletti de pera, and the lamb shanks. My favorites were the mushroom ravioli and the lamb shank was delish too. I wasn't a big fan of the fazzoletti de pera -- very underwhelming and lacked flavor but overall the food was solid 4.5/5. Service was great and the ambiance really steals the show here! Can't wait to come back.

Lovely atmosphere, old bank transformed to a cozy restaurant

This Miami downtown restaurant brought me back to the lovely Napoli area with welcoming atmosphere, great service and so tasty food. What I highly appreciate is the authenticity of the place, something that many Miami restaurants often miss! Highly recommended!

Soya e Pomodoro was okay The place is nice and very much like an Italian restaurant somewhere in Europe... however it was definitely hot. Ventilation is limited even inside. We order the octopus Carpaccio appetizer and it was really good. Nicely prepared, fresh and perfect for a summer evening. Main courses linguini vongole (not that good), lacked a lot of flavor. The bolognese was good... light sauce and pasta cooked perfectly. Same for paccheri al sapore di mare..... This was very good and the sauce was perfect... Definitely something I could order again. Dessert - we had the millefolie and it was disappointing. Overall food is good and service is attentive and friendly. Some dishes are a hit or miss.

Knowing we would be visiting downtown Miami, we reserved a table for two on a Saturday evening. As all of the Yelp photos depict, the restaurant was indeed eclectic with a unique use of an old bank space. We knew there was no a/c in advance but the fans moved the August air and we were comfortable. The staff was attentive from the moment we sat down and their unhurried attention continued throughout the dinner. We started with a shareable insulata di spinachi ($15). Basically a large bowl of uninspiring baby spinach with residual pieces of pear, walnuts and goat cheese and a honey balsamic dressing that tasted like off the shelf simple balsamic. For the price, perhaps a bit more attention would help for what seemed like a salad afterthought. My wife's fettuccine bolognese ($20) was served with a ragu sauce. Presentation was on point and the entree was very good, though not "MUST TRY". I chose the stinco d agnello ($32), a braised lamb shank served with soft artichoke pieces over a layer of freshly mashed yellow potatoes. The flavors combined very well and the shank was tender. My only complaint was that the red sauce was a bit too salty for even my taste. Our meal was accompanied by a basket of fresh bread pieces and balsamic vinegar and EVOO for dipping. The better accompaniment to our dinner was the trio of musicians playing jazz between the Pompeii pillars. Perfecto. We finished with Americano coffee ($4) , a delicious brew of quality roasted beans. And a panna cotta served with strawberries and a simple syrup ($13). If you're craving a sweet, skip this one. CAUTION: When you get the bill, taxes and an 18% tip are included in the cost but "suggested tips" are also on the receipt. In all, there was nothing on the menu that was out of this world. But the ambience and service took us out of this country.

The interior design gives the restaurant a classic Roman luxury feel mixed with Miami nightlife energy. The service was excellent from start to finish. Staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made the whole experience feel elevated without being stiff or overly formal. The food absolutely lived up to the hype. The pasta was fresh and flavorful, the focaccia was great, and the wagyu steak was a standout perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. The cocktails and overall presentation were also top-tier. You can tell a lot of attention goes into every detail here. We got lucky and the hostess actually seated us almost right away. The staff is amazing and friendly. Usually on big holidays restaurants in Miami are short staffed and service always suffers. Osteria's energy was warm and beyond welcoming. We ordered the calamari again and it was wonderfully crispy. For our Entrees we had the steak with a side of asparagus and pappardelle ossobuco. Steak was perfectly seasoned. The veal pasta sauce was out of this world. Honestly I think stopping by Osteria might be our Christmas Eve tradition from now on. I couldn't have had a better Christmas Eve with my family.

An opulent failed attempt at fine dining…read more At first glance, the place is impressive -- beautiful cars outside, constant traffic of guests walking in, crisp white tablecloths setting the stage for what appears to be a refined dining experience. Unfortunately, the illusion fades rather quickly. The first sign of trouble arrives with the server sporting a rather impressive lip piercing, followed closely by a colleague whose diamond nose stud could probably be seen from space. Not exactly the ambiance one expects when aiming for "elegant." Despite the abundance of servers floating around the dining room, none seem to notice when your knife dramatically dives off the table and lands on the floor -- where it enjoys a long, lonely stay. Water service is also quite innovative: they simply leave the entire bottle at the table, which seems less about generosity and more about avoiding the inconvenience of returning to refill your glass. The food? Sadly just as uninspired. From the octopus to the $68 Milanese, every dish managed the impressive feat of being completely flavorless. The Milanese arrived with a beautiful crust, which raised hopes... until you realized there was no sauce, no garnish, and nothing to rescue what turned out to be a remarkably bland plate. Meanwhile, the staff appears deeply committed to minimizing effort -- though not shy about judging you directly when the tip doesn't meet their expectations. All in all, this place feels like fine dining in costume. Perhaps a return to the basics of hospitality and service would be a good start... followed by a serious conversation with whoever is currently in the kitchen. Good luck to anyone brave enough to give it a try.
