Food and service terrible. There was only 2 tables with people at the restaurant food took over 45 min to come out. Waitress never checked in during the wait. Asked for medium well steak got a small burnt steak. Got shrimp that looked nice on top but where all stiff. flipped them over all burnt from the other side. The salad is a joke $4 for a tiny salad with 2 pieces of tomato and a small sprinkle of cheese. This dining experience just made me laugh. Zero stars. Don't try it. It is so bad. Biscuits and gravy: runny and lumpy. Potatoes: cold and fried in old oil. Waffle: cold and rubbery. Coffee: tasted old and scorched. And then the bathroom... so dirty. No toilet paper, actual beverage glasses lying around toilet. Only three tables with customers yet not one server has cleaned the bathroom since who knows when. I had the fried pork chops. They were pretty good. I am from south Louisiana and my mom was the best cook so they have a hard act to follow. I think I encountered a new employee who wasn't very knowledgeable. It took a really long time, but it seemed the food was cooked when I ordered. Decided to try this place last night. Maybe not the best choice. We waited a while to be seated and when we were, ended up changing seats because of how close we were to another person. We waited more than 30 minutes for drinks and another 30 minutes for our food. The food was cold and bland. Chicken was over seasoned on the outside and not seasoned at all in the inside. Collard greens lacked flavor and I was told there were no more sweet potatoes but a while later I see someone else getting sweet potatoes. And we were charged $8 a person for "entertainment". The entertainment was a live band that took a 30-45 minute break. We left before the band started back up again. Management needs to hire a better cook, bartender, and wait staff otherwise this business will be closed soon. read more

I hate to leave one star, but the wife and I was unable to eat here because the waitress was EXTREMELY SLOW. The establishment had four booths and two tables with guest. The other tables were empty. Not sure why our waitress was so slow. Also the two waitresses were arguing as to who would serve us but neither did. Waitress took our drink orders. My husband and I like to try out new cafe's and diners. Saw this place while driving yesterday and decided to give it a try after church today. Got off to a great start. Young lady opened door for us and greeted us with a friendly smile. We were seated quickly. That was the last thing that was done quickly... Coffee took awhile to come, and was not what was ordered. Our orders took 31 minutes to be brought to our table. In that time we saw two tables of people leave because they were tired of waiting. When the food came it was pretty good. But not good enough to ever want to wait on again. Our server was nice, and thanked us for being patient. I was excited to eat here, the staff greeted us immediately when we walked in and told us about their all day drink specials on mimosas and margaritas. We were handed menus on printer paper- and chalked it up to they haven't finalized menu items to have professionally printed menus yet. I ordered the pork chop and eggs (over easy) and "seasoned" potatoes; my husband ordered the chicken and waffles with eggs and seasoned potatoes. The pork chop was well seasoned, but dry. The eggs, potatoes, and waffles were all bland. The potatoes were fried, but didn't have any finishing seasoning, like salt and/or pepper after coming out of the fryer- so what I added at the table didn't stick to the potatoes. We also had to share a bottle of Tabasco with another table, I requested Tabasco, but was asked by another waitress if she could have it and proceeded to take it back to the original table- which was weird because I could see 2 unopened bottles of Tabasco on their condiment shelf. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant, but don't see myself returning because I was so disappointed in the food. read more

I have been meaning to give a review for this place but I kept forgetting. This place is close to my home so I was excited to try it after it opened for some good, Southern food I wouldn't need to go too far for outside of my own home. As usual, I'll start with the positives: 1. Great ambiance. I liked the look and feel of the restaurant, one can tell the owners put a lot of thought and care into making guests feel comfortable. Good music too as many reviewers on Yelp and Google have said. 2. I personally didn'tdx have an issue with the service. It wasn't packed, they were friendly, my day server whom I tipped was great to me and my children. That's about where the positives end. I ordered salmon and eggs, which came with those potatoes. My son ordered pancakes and my daughter eggs and sausage. The salmon was overcooked and dry with no flavor. The reviews that say the food is average at best with no seasoning are correct. Then they sprinkle parsley on everything as if that will make it taste good. The potatoes taste like freezer potatoes with absolutely no seasoning. My son who isn't hard to please was also disappointed. I also ordered a mimosa which was more orange juice than champagne. To pay l what I did for what I received I don't think I would return. When we walked in, it was clean, open, cool looking bar, white chairs with nice tables, great music playlist at the right volume, and very friendly staff. When we sat down and looked at the menu the first thing my dad said was "there are offering too much for a small place". We were told by our waitress that we couldnt order any breakfast options because of the time. It was like 11:40 ish. But we heard a women behind us order off the breakfast menu, then we asked another waiter and he said they were still doing breakfast. Once we started to order with our waitress she reminded us that breakfast was not being served. So we put in our orders, some things were discontinued but they were still on the list or that they ran out of items. The wait wasn't too bad. Like I said the music was good. Food comes out, its hot and looks good on the plate but.............. there was NO FLAVOR. No amount of salt helped out the collard greens, chicken (wings for the chicken & waffles & the tenders in sweet & spicy sauce) had a crunch and was tender but no flavor. Mac & cheese was eh..., pancakes & waffles were fluffy but no flavor, fried pork chops were good but no flavor, the breakfast potatoes and corned hash were crunchy but no flavor. Paid $75 for 4 people with one alcoholic drink and 3 soft drinks. And we left upset at that price for something we could have made better at home. Unfortunately we will probably not come back for the food but maybe, maybe, maybe....for the drinks during the "lounge - like" events they seem to offer. read more

I had been meaning to give this place a try since meeting the owner a few months ago at my job. My girlfriend and I stopped in for a late dinner at about 8:30 and were apprehensive as we walked in and realized there were 5 employees gathered and talking and not another customer in site. They apparently didn't know what they were missing because this place is great. We started with the fried sausage macaroni as our appetizer. Hot, crispy, creamy and hearty. Delicious. Stacey went with the meatloaf and chose the candied yams and creamy confetti corn for her sides. The dinners also come with a salad and cornbread in addition to the two sides which we thought was unusually generous. She prefers her meatloaf less sweet than some so was on the fence with the very sweet sauce it came with. It didn't bother me. I chose the fried chicken strips with mashed potatoes (didn't come with gravy to the table but the waitress gladly returned with some when I was confused by its absence lol) and fried okra. All very hot and top notch. It's easy to mess up fried okra but this was some of the best I've had. Yes we were the only customers in the restaurant the entire time, which is mystifying, so the food should have been hot and fresh. Still, it was of exceptional quality and I would be returning soon even if I didn't live about a block away. I hope this place makes it. Give it a try. If you love old fashioned country/soul/comfort food you won't be disappointed. read more

I've visited this place three times in the last two weeks for breakfast. Got the Tennessee omelet twice and the sausage scrambler last visit. Portion size is perfect. Price is comparable to other places. Food was tasty. No compliants there. I would just say twice the coffee was just lukewarm. Coffee should always be hot. The atmosphere, staff was very friendly and background music was excellent. I've gone with different people and both enjoyed it as well. I wasn't able to place an order because once we were seated after standing in front for at least 10 mins. Several waiters passed us and refused to make eye contact.
