Ok I'm not sure where the 1 stars came from. I found there assembly line even better than before. Maybe folks hit there during teething pains. Our service was friendly and efficient. My wife had the smoked brisket in the wrap and it was amazing. I had my traditional cracked pepper turkey on sourdough - I really need to branch out. When you are paying over $20 for a 6 inch sandwich with a little bag of chips and a drink, you expect it to be pretty top quality. I am happy to say that this particular location made one killer sandwich. I got my usual turkey, bacon and avocado. I do think it's a little strange they charge $.25 extra for certain toppings, for 22 bucks I am able to get quality. I have gone to other sourdough and Kos, definitely didn't have as good a sandwich as I did at this location, the one thing about sourdough and comb that I'm not exactly thrilled about is the fact that they are already charging you an arm and a leg, and then also ask for a tip, instead of just having a tip jar out like West Coast sourdough. I do prefer West Coast sourdough, the one I frequent in Placerville is awesome but when I'm at work in the Auburn area, I think this location will probably end up being my go to, at least until they get some West Coast sourdough's out this way. read more

I am not a fan of this particular location. In the past they were horrible. So I avoided it/refused to go to it. But I kept seeing the sign that it's under new management so we thought we would give it a try today. We love sourdough and co at other locations. Sadly tho, this one is not much better than it was before. The gal that took our order was rude. Rushing us and not asking the proper questions that most do for this sandwich shop such as "would you like to make your sandwich a meal." When I did say we would like to make our sandwiches meals and I wanted mine with a side salad, we were presented with attitude. On my sandwich, I requested no dry bread. So I wanted dressing on both sides of the bread. Other than that I was fine with how the sandwich comes/no other substitutions. Somehow that got translated to dressing only on 1 side of the bread, extra onion, lite tomatoes and absolutely no lettuce was found on the sandwich. Mine was supposed to be a cold sandwich (that's how it comes) and it was hot/toasted. But the no lettuce thing turned out to be ok with me, since my side salad had brown lettuce and some pieces in it were slimy and clearly had gone bad. My husband and I ordered, and for some reason 3 people that ordered after us received their food before us. Our food was not any more labor intensive than theirs. We were there for about 1/2 hour while others were there for 10 mins. We watched as they kept ignoring our order and making everyone else's first. They were out of lids for their drinks. My husband told the gal and asked for a lid. He was responded with "I'll refill it when I can" (she was standing at the register waiting on someone that was still deciding on what to order. The lids were literally right next to her on the shelf under the counter) Employees that were on break were taking up the few tables they have inside. So we ended up at a high top and the chair was so uncomfortable it hurt my back. The thing that bothered me most is, we ordered our usual with 1 exception. My husband got soup instead of chips with his sandwich. At multiple other locations I've been to, price for our usual compared to this location today was a little over a $10 difference. And as I said the only difference is my husband got soup vs chips in a meal. That difference doesn't equal more than $10. So I'm not sure why this location is charging more for the same food as other locations when they present themselves as being rude and have lower standards for their produce and the product they are making for people. read more

I am absolutely shocked by the experience I just had. My family has been coming here for years, but the last couple times it has seemed to be going downhill a bit. I just came in with a big smile on my face and let the lady know that I'd be ordering 4 large sandwiches and she looked and talked to me throughout the whole ordering process as if she was extremely irritated. I brushed this off, maybe she's having a bad day, but I ordered fountain drinks and she had failed to mention that the only fountain drinks they weren't out of were ginger ale and sparkling water. (I'd already paid and didn't want to be basically yelled at again so I just got ginger ale) but then I heard the other lady taking the next person's order and as the customer approaches the counter she says in a loud and irritated voice "I'll take your order if you don't yell at me for repeating it!" Stopped off here on my way home.. big fan of sourdough bread in general so wanted to give it a try. Went with pastrami and turkey and it did not disappoint. Fresh ingredients and just the right amount of tang that I like in a deli sub. They wrap their sandwiches neatly, proportions are just right of every ingredient, and the bread is the perfect vessel! Slightly crisp on the outside, but soft and not too breast on this inside. My only complaint is $10 for an 8" sandwich seems a bit much by a buck or two, but other than that it's a very good sandwich. read more

My rating is only in regards to service. I went into the restaurant and there were two workers. One worker was in the front and the other in the back. There were no other customers. I was not greeted or spoken to. I waited and after the front worker finished what he was doing, I thought he was going to help me but instead pulled out his cell phone. Ordered myself a number five which is turkey and salami but they informed me they were out of turkey which was kind of weird. But they replaced it with cracked pepper turkey which was fine. Got a little crazy and got Dijon mustard instead of regular. LOL sandwich was very good, Bread was very fresh and the sandwich to put together very nicely. The floors were sticky, the tables and countertops were covered in smudges and crumbs, and the chairs were stained. It was clear that cleaning wasn't a priority for this establishment. One of my fav salad places unfortunately getting my order correct is a hard concept. I walked in 3 boys were working with no one in the place. I waited about a min and a half to be greeted as they were just standing in the back. I ordered and Italian salad with no salami sub turkey with extra turkey add red onion. When I got home (my bad for not double checking) no red onion no turkey but plenty of salami. This isn't the first time this has happened here. I usually go to a different location which accommodates my gluten allergy beautifully. Today I tried this location, and there were two girls working who didn't have half a brain between them. They refused to change their gloves after handling bread, put the intended gluten free wrap onto a pile of bread crumbs, and ignored me when I asked them to please not get bread all over the wrap. Also, one of them kept playing with her hair while wearing the afore mention gloves, which was kind of off putting. Whitney who was managing today, with a " skeleton crew" was upbeat, greeted customers right away to acknowledge their presence and was encouraging to the two young men she was working with and training. Ordered online using DoorDash. It says all orders accepted by 630pm. We sent order at approx 615pm. They confirmed order. Then at 7 pm I got notice that order was cancelled. First of all my husband Loooooves Sourdough and Co. It is go to for a deli sandwich. We recently threw a NFL Championship party and needed 48 sandwich's on a Sunday. Well, they are currently not open on Sundays.
