There were outdoor tables available. Good thing as the 3 Labradors were with us. I'm not a vegetarian. I eat animals almost everyday. Stopped for a late lunch on our way back from Truckee - a nice, quieter stop about 5 minutes off hwy 80 and hwy 49. Worth the little detour to experience a bit of grass valley. We are regularly vegetarian/vegan with our diet but like to try plant based food options when we come across interesting ones. Buffalo cauliflower wings: flavor was there but I felt like I would have enjoyed them more of they were fried or roasted. I preferred our other food options. Lavender Lemonade was refreshing and clean tasting. Glad we tried it but not sure we would get it again. Tempeh Ruben had good flavor and pretty good for tempeh. Worth trying again if we wanted a ruben flavor in our meal. Salad was also good with the sandwich. Mushroom cheeseburger - this was a favorite. The burger felt pretty hardy, the mushrooms were delicious and the melted cheese with the burger was also yummy. We also liked the tortilla chips! Nacho supreme were also a hit though next time I will remember to ask for no cilantro and lighter on the olives. We all loved everything else about the nachos. Overall it was a good meal for 4 adults, not cheap but felt healthier and not heavy as we had more diving ahead of us. Just yesterday ordered an American burger w/ Nectar patty, and a chocolate shake. I'm vegan 13+ years, and I'm telling you, that burger, I think, was the best burger I've had since begin vegan. At the very least, it's tied with an incredible burger I've had at a Bay Area restaurant. The food yesterday simply could not have been better. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant, the kindness of the staff and the service. If I lived within 20m I'd eat there once a week. Nice to find a vegetarian restaurant with an outdoor patio in old Auburn. We walked by this place several times, and we had our dogs with us, so we finally decided to try it. I'm so glad I found Nectar Cafe! This place is great! Let me tell you why. I was in town to run a race called The Canyons 50K. The day before the race, I arrived in Auburn (my first time ever) to pick up my race bib and to look around to take in the local culture. I was also hungry after flying into Sacramento and driving another 45 minutes to Auburn. I'm vegan, so I searched for local places that offer vegan options. Nectar Cafe was at the top of the search results. As luck would have it, Nectar Cafe was just a short walk from where I parked my car, and just a short walk from the Start/Finish line of the race. Man... I am so glad this restaurant exists. The food and the service were great. I had the Southwestern Wrap and a brownie. I was so happy with this place that I knew I had to go back the following day after my race. And that's exactly what I did. The following day I had a BBQ Burger with their own house made patty. And this time I had even more dessert. All the desserts are vegan, and they are awesome! I tried all of them. The chocolate chip cookie, the brownie, and the chocolate mousse were delicious. I was in Auburn for a movie showing at the Odd Fellows Lodge. The landscape was to grab a bite of dinner here beforehand. It was my first time here and many of the menu items sounded good. Long week. It's only Wednesday. A friend told me about this place on my way home. Win! Hard to find vegan choices. 2 of my favorite restaurants closed this year. I got the Thai Wrap to eat in and a Southwest wrap with vegan cheese to go. Both made and delivered properly. The Thai wrap looked great. Couldn't weight to dig in. Bit it before I thought of a picture. It was just as good as it looked. Great flavors. Fresh veggies. Nice soft wrap. Delicious sauce. The only comment I'd make is for me the tortilla chips flavor didn't go well with the Thai wrap flavor profile. I ate one then saved the rest for the end of my drive home. They were great then. Maybe a potato chip or a naan chip and quite frankly I wouldn't have needed a chip. The wrap was great. Got home and gave the south west wrap to the hubs. He gave me a bite. I really enjoyed my experience here. I ordered the American Burger with the Nectar Patty. It was delicious! The patty was nice and thick and had a great flavor. They make their Nectar patties there and they contain things like black beans, lentils, oats, and some other ingredients (all soy free I believe). My friend ordered the nachos and she enjoyed it. It was a bit smaller than the burger but still filling. The chorizo does have tamari I'm told, which is a soy product (in case anyone wanted to know). They offer many beverage options, including sparkling water and juice. I also enjoyed a chocolate coconut cream dessert item from their fridge area. It's very creamy and luscious. The employees were nice and happy to answer any questions I had. The place was also clean and had a relaxed decor. If I lived nearby I'd come more often. I recommend this place to others! read more

When I inquired. The reply was they are vegan and gluten free (so no egg). Good - no raw eggs. Was offered a refund. Declined because during cookie inquiry started to feel uncomfortable by employees response. Seemed personally offended. Cookie was visibly uncooked thoroughly. Felt a bit of either attitude or something not good. Not sure. My right to ask if a cookie is half raw throughout the center before feeding it to a toddler. I go a couple times a year and always enjoyed it. This time NOT SO MUCH. I always order the same, a vegetarian Reuben. It was awful, sent it back and gave kind explanation. First the bread was toasted, there was a very excessive amount of sauce and sauerkraut was minimal - I asked for room temperature bread, "half" the sauce and double the sauerkraut. ....it came slightly toasted, barely any sauerkraut and almost no sauce. The owner was very nice about hearing my 2 complaints...I won't go into ALL the back and forth, but, sadly I won't be back again. I had a review draft of Nectar Cafe from over a year ago with the following: "YUM!" That opinion still stands, but let me give it some context. This is the best spot between Roseville and Reno to get quality vegan eats. Technically, this is a vegetarian restaurant, but they've progressed to being mostly vegan and are diligent in how they label things. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. I've had their wraps and now, on my most recent visit, their vegan nachos which were a mountain of deliciousness. I'm giving them a pass on presentation given the Rona and all, so don't judge this place just by my photo. Friendly service and oudoor dining, this is definitely a great stop when traveling through this neck of the woods. I'll be back for sure. read more

Service was good, and the location was clean. However, the cauliflower wings were off for me. They were inedible -- par-boiled, half-crunchy, half-soft and soggy, and drenched in buffalo sauce, which didn't help. From the texture to the taste, it was all off. Ironically, the ranch they were paired with was some of the best plant-based ranch I've ever had. I also ordered a wrap, which was good but not spectacular.
