    Nacho Supreme

Stopped for a late lunch on our way back from Truckee - a nice, quieter stop about 5 minutes off hwy 80 and hwy 49. Worth the little detour to experience a bit of grass valley. We are regularly vegetarian/vegan with our diet but like to try plant based food options when we come across interesting ones. Buffalo cauliflower wings: flavor was there but I felt like I would have enjoyed them more of they were fried or roasted. I preferred our other food options. Lavender Lemonade was refreshing and clean tasting. Glad we tried it but not sure we would get it again. Tempeh Ruben had good flavor and pretty good for tempeh. Worth trying again if we wanted a ruben flavor in our meal. Salad was also good with the sandwich. Mushroom cheeseburger - this was a favorite. The burger felt pretty hardy, the mushrooms were delicious and the melted cheese with the burger was also yummy. We also liked the tortilla chips! Nacho supreme were also a hit though next time I will remember to ask for no cilantro and lighter on the olives. We all loved everything else about the nachos. Overall it was a good meal for 4 adults, not cheap but felt healthier and not heavy as we had more diving ahead of us. Service was helpful - they brought the food out to us since we had our dog with us.

Nachos made vegan - big chunk missing because I could not help myself!

Whenever I am in Auburn, I stop in at Nectar Café. They have the most delicious nachos! I snapped a pic but bare in mind I started devouring them immediately so a chunk is missing! I have tried their cauliflower tacos, burger, Reuben, and cookies - all sublime. I always buy the cookies up at the register with a couple extra to take with me. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The vibe is casual and earthy. They have art for sale on the walls from local artists. The food tastes very fresh! Those looking for a plant based eatery or wanting something fresh and yummy, must check this place out!

Nice to find a vegetarian restaurant with an outdoor patio in old Auburn. We walked by this place several times, and we had our dogs with us, so we finally decided to try it. The menu offers many choices. I went with the nectar burger, which was made with beans, nuts, etc., and was delicious and filling. In fact, I had to bring half of it home and eat that for dinner! Hubby had the Thai bowl and he said it was very filling and delicious. There's many outdoor tables with umbrellas, PERFECT if you have your pups with you. They also have five or six indoor tables as well. The serving staff was very polite and helpful. We will be back!

I was in town for a race and needed a good hearty meal that is vegan and gluten free. The Nectar Cafe had several intriguing options and I chose the southwest bowl. The portion was a great size for the price, the ingredients tasty and staff very friendly. It came with tortilla chips, and I was very satisfied. I only wish there were more veggies and fewer black beans (seemed well more than a cup). But other than that everything was terrific.

I was in Auburn for a movie showing at the Odd Fellows Lodge. The landscape was to grab a bite of dinner here beforehand. It was my first time here and many of the menu items sounded good. I opted for the "stuffed avocado", which was a plate of rice, beans, salsa, and avocado that tasted fantastic! The cafe was comfortable and relaxing to spend time in. The other entrees that I saw being served also looked good. I would definitely be up for returning and trying other items on the menu. The staff on duty were friendly, polite, and attentive.

Everything about this place is amazing. The food is such good quality. The people working are super nice and it's quick.

Thai Wrap which is vegan. Served with tortilla chips.

Long week. It's only Wednesday. A friend told me about this place on my way home. Win! Hard to find vegan choices. 2 of my favorite restaurants closed this year. I got the Thai Wrap to eat in and a Southwest wrap with vegan cheese to go. Both made and delivered properly. The Thai wrap looked great. Couldn't weight to dig in. Bit it before I thought of a picture. It was just as good as it looked. Great flavors. Fresh veggies. Nice soft wrap. Delicious sauce. The only comment I'd make is for me the tortilla chips flavor didn't go well with the Thai wrap flavor profile. I ate one then saved the rest for the end of my drive home. They were great then. Maybe a potato chip or a naan chip and quite frankly I wouldn't have needed a chip. The wrap was great. Got home and gave the south west wrap to the hubs. He gave me a bite. We thought it was also good. The chips went very well with it. Found out dogs are welcome on the large main patio. That's nice as I usually have a dog with me. Today no dog so I ate inside. Very nice cute clean cafe. I noticed 2 people came in for a call in take out order so that's an option too.

Hearty side salad with a creamy balsamic dressing.

Good atmosphere, friendly service. I ordered the special; shepherds pie. It came with a nice side salad. The shepherds pie was delicious and full of a variety of veggies. It was just a bit heavy handed on black pepper. Looking forward to trying other dishes.

Very tasty food! Place was busy but they were quick. My daughter proclaimed it was the best quesadilla she ever had!

Super charming and warm cafe shop for a healthy and happy eatery! I like everything about this place. Delicious food with such great and friendly service! I love the presentation of my colorful food plate which made so enticing to enjoy. The nachos were my favorite. The buffalo cauliflower tacos were too spicy for me but tasty. The mango smoothie was not sweet, just the way I like it. Definitely will return! Highly recommended!

It was easy to spot from the road and it was an up front parking kinda day! As we walked in, the first thing you notice is the beautiful pink bosom tree. It so spacious and clean in here. There are tables with chairs, half booths, and booths available to sit in. The tables were clutter free of where we normally would see a chopstick/spoon/sauce caddie. Alley greeted us as we walked in and she let us sit wherever we wanted. I liked how there are big windows that allow a lot of light to shine in. The art in the walls was so beautiful. Even the bathroom was wall art (with a beautiful faucet)... and with the blossom tree inside the restaurant, it gave us a soothing mellow dining experience. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls for an appetizer to share. For our main entrée, we each ordered the XL bowl of Pho Dac Biet and a couple of waters to sip on. Our appetizer was out within a few minutes. Gorgeous plating and the peanut sauce is delicious. The spring rolls were good. I prefer them with a little more peanut sauce and ingredients in the roll. The ones we ate didn't have any coriander or mint. After a couple bites I looked for it and they weren't in there (those ingredients were listed on the menu for shrimp spring rolls) but they were still delicious and packed very full with lettuce and vermicelli noodles. For our Pho, first we sipped the broth... it was very good beef broth! The aroma isn't as strong as we are used to and the flavor not as strong... it was more delicate and light... it still tasted of perfection! I like how the thin rare steak on top was filet mignon. Very tender.... however, the broth was so hot, it cooked the steak almost all the way before it got to the table. Alley was kind enough to bring out a few extra slices of meat so that I could enjoy it the way I really like. Service was fantastic and you have to ask Alley about her adorable manager! See you guys soon (especially for a rainy day!)

But stuff isn't viral online for no reason.. the Dutch apple pie was incredible. Perfect even. Not too sweet apples perfectly tart. And when I went by at 12 or so today the pie was hot out of the oven. Incredible. And delicious. I also got a Peruvian marinated whole chicken, marinated hangar steak and lemon pepper marinated chicken thighs. Meats are vacuumed packed and are easy dinner options. We were in the area of Auburn coming back from a Father's Day weekend trip, and I was looking for a few easy meals to have in the fridge for the rest of the week. It was busy! But plenty of staff on hand to help move everything along. I suggest having one person wait in the car and sending one person in to stealthy acquire the goods. Also they offered me a bag of ice to keep my meats fresh for the ride. Fabulous touch. Don't be scared of the crowds and new found popularity. Go in and grab a pie and more! Loved coming here and can't wait to be in the area again to try out other things.

I love pie & was on a mission to try theirs. We stopped by on the Friday afternoon after they got recognized. The parking lot was packed. There is a lot of covered outdoor seating, but it was also pretty filled up. The market was busy & bustling with customers & staff going to & fro. A hamburger restaurant adjoins the market with some indoor seating. You can enter & exit either door to get to both areas. The doors directly to the market only had one you could open because the other door was obscured with a display & it caused such a traffic jam to get in & out. The supply of pies/cobblers & variety was plentiful. They have fruit pies as well as cream pies in whole, sliced, fresh, & frozen form. NOTE--you can find whole pies (fresh or frozen) in the market, & packaged individual slices in the restaurant. The market also has lots of produce, dips & sauces, dressings, pickled items, wine, other baked goods, honey, snacks, store branded merchandise, & lots more! Samples of products were out & available to try, like fruit, dips, & granola. The circumstances of the award created an understandable commotion that took a little charm away from the shopping experience. The market has so many neat items to browse, but it has narrow aisles & it was hard to look around comfortably & not feel in the way because of the flurry of activity. I even heard audible disdain from another customer (my sense is a local or regular) about everyone being there because of the award. Customer service was fine. Staffers seemed busy & didn't welcome or proactively acknowledge customers. We were able to find someone who was helpful with a question we had. Checkout was straightforward with staff trying to keep the line moving. Back to the pie mission! Peach Pie--delightful fresh peach taste, the least sweet of the 3 Razzleberry Pie--really delicious berry packed flavor payoff Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler--this is my favorite kind of fruit pie & their very tasty execution stood out because the rhubarb was really present in big tart chunks, (also the fruit & veg combo practically makes this a health food, right??) My verdict-- My ideal pie is a combo of yummy filling & a great flaky, buttery crust. While the fillings were bursting with amazing fruitiness, the crust brought nothing to the table & was just bland & meh. I prefer the cobbler version because the dough brought some sweetness & flavor. We also got a loaf of coffee cake. It tasted fine, but felt like it was basically a simply flavored cake with some streusel topping that had bits of walnut & barely any detectable cinnamon. I would go back again down the road on an obscure weekday to try to experience a less busy time to shop more items. The pie fillings I tried were spectacular, & despite the mediocre crust, I would happily have more.

Coffee was average but plentiful. Alright why is this not a 5 star given the food is amazing? The service is terrible. I believe it "might" be the owner, but it is run by an angry, scowling rude woman who shouts orders to her staff. Ownership entitlement does not suit her well. I could not believe this person was even working, they were so disgruntled and gave the small restaurant a dark vibe. I truly felt bad for the young staff bustling around. I would eat here again because everything we ordered was delicious and the kitchen is clearly talented, but expect zero niceties or friendly banter. It definitely ruins the overall ambiance and I am not the first person to note this. Tip, order the potatoes they are season perfectly.
