VEGAN SIGHTING!!! If you are vegan, this quaint restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch has a separate section for vegans. The food was tasty, hearty and worth the money. I had the Vegan Joe scramble which consisted of beyond burger, mushrooms, spinackh and Daiya cheese. I had it with potatoes and toast, which came with vegan butter. The dish was 2 thumbs up. The potatoes was crispy and flavorful, did not even need salt. Youssef, who helped us, was wonderful, attentive and friendly. A big shout out to Auburn, CA for having this gem. read more

We are up here from LA for wedding and found this amazing little breakfast diner. The place is cute with a country kitchen decor and vibe. Bright and clean. We were happy to see they have a separate Vegan menu of great sounding offerings. We ordered the Joe's Vegan Scramble. Sooo good. Loved it. The waiter, Yusef was amazing. Got here, got seated and got some coffee. Holy moly the coffee is good! Got our order in and got our food decently quickly. I can't believe this great spot wasn't more crowded on a Saturday afternoon. I had the Reuben Eggs Benedict- it was delicious, like nothing I've had before. One person had the biscuits and gravy plate that came with a huge piece of deep-fried bacon. Again, I've never seen that on a menu, and it was GREAT! Open-faced turkey sandwich and a homemade cornbeef hash and eggs breakfast. Turkey was moist and flavorful and the hash was savory and not from the can! On the side had cottage cheese and sourdough toast with an excellent fig jam. Shared a fluffy, hot, Belgian Waffle with some heated syrup and whipped butter topping. That ornate glass jar the heated syrup came in was a nice touch. Everything was tasty and pricey IMO. Friendly staff and one of the best Arnold Palmers I've had. It came out unsweetened with a real deal tart lemonade taste. I added a couple of Splendas and it was ON!!! I'd return for sure. Auburn eats!!! Whoaaaaa if I could give a million stars I would!!!!! We stumbled upon Nancy's by taking a random exit to find food and switch drivers as we were coming home from Reno. We pulled into this non discript shopping center and saw the place. Went in and it was packed but we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. That's always a good sign. So cute inside with local painted art on the walls. The server was awesome, friendly and honest. I asked him which was better, the steak and eggs or the homemade corn beef and eggs and he said the corned beef. So that's what I ordered. My wife got the fish n chips and my daughter got the French toast. I also ordered a coke and it came in a huge mason jar. And it was STRONG. YES like we all know today's sodas are weak and almost like sugared up water. But Nancy's was that old school strong. The corned beef was AMAZING!!!!!!! House potatoes were awesome, perfect eggs and wonderful jelly / English muffin. Wife's fish n chips were AMAZING and the French toast was out of this world. The other patrons were super nice too. I must admit I was a little skeptical when I walked in. The place was clean and a man came from the back with his gloves on. This meant he was ready to get down to business. What a find! We were leaving a wedding party in Placerville and stopped in Auburn for a quick brunch before we headed back to the Bay Area.
