I was really surprised with these 5 star reviews! When you see the $$$ signs, BELIEVE IT! The portions are very underwhelming for the price. The kids menu choices are also very expensive for what you get.. shoot, even the regular menu prices are ridiculous. The vibe was very awkward at arrival. They had 3 people manning the entry in this small establishment and did not feel welcoming. Expect to pay well over $50 for 2 people and not have anything left over. We only make it Nancy's about once a year on our way between Northern NV and whatever destination we are going to in CA. This morning we walked in and we could tell things had changed. The art on the walls was by a different artist and we only recognized one staff member. It didn't take long to realize ownership had changed. Don't let that stray you! You may not be met by Nancy anymore, but this family has kept great food, portions for the prices, and exceptional service. The menu seemed to be the same with maybe a few more items. Nestled in an above average strip mall is Nancy's where you get served by Nancy with an awesome personality and great smile , her daughter runs the kitchen which dishes out some great food - we kept looking at all the other tables and all looked amazing, what we ate was amazing! I had chicken fried steak (cause I'm on a diet ) and it was huge and tasty ! The gravy ended up on my potatos also with a bit of their homemade hot sauce (which I bought a bottle of - she slipped it on the table so you become hooked ) and I almost licked the plate (which has huge servings ) , the wife had the turkey club and she finished it all (she usually takes half home ) so needless to say she liked it . Nancy's has always been our go-to place for a delicious breakfast or lunch. It used to be run by Nancy, but after many years she has left for a well-deserved retirement. I am happy to report that the restaurant continues to be a great choice. The new owner, Mr. Bulent Aras, has worked hard to preserve its charm. Our favorite waitress, Kim, is still there, as are many of the other attentive staff. The food continues to be tasty with generous portions, despite the high price of eggs. There is fun art on the walls and homemade jam in many flavors. Most importantly, Bulent is very open to suggestions and to accommodating customer dietary needs. We can tell that he values customer service as key to his business' success. It is nice that a local business can continue to serve our community so well. read more

Chicken fried bacon had a real tasty breading, though it's probably not something I'd get again. It was really good and worth a try once, but I think I'll stick with my usual breakfast staples. Hashbrowns were nice and crispy. Biscuit was HUGE. It was just a giant mound of biscuit on the plate. It was nice and crumbly on the outside, moist on the inside. Perfect. And the gravy was so good. It had big chunks of meat in it too. The wife really enjoyed her vegan scramble. She isn't usually a fan of tofu but this one she really liked. I took a bite, veggies in it tasted really fresh and it was good (though I'll take my meat and eggs thank you). I'm really appreciative of the fact that they have several vegan options! When my friend goes to Reno with his family, he always stop by Nancy's for breakfast. For my Hot Augusts Nights trip up to Reno, I stopped by Nancy's Cafe on a Wednesday morning on my way up 80. The cafe was located in a plaza and you can tell the locals come to this spot. You can tell who Nancy is right away from energy once you step into the cafe. The cafe had local artists work hung on the wall. I was excited to be off for several days and decided to splurge on the corned beef hash with a side of biscuits & gravy. The corned beef hash was the real deal, not any of that processed stuff you would find in the Bay Area. Folks, that's why breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
