I ordered the Western Burger and decided to make it a double because apparently one patty just wasn't enough for me that day, lol. It came loaded with Tillamook cheddar, crispy bacon, onion rings, mayo, and their gourmet BBQ sauce. The burger was juicy, cheesy, smoky, and slightly sweet without the BBQ sauce overpowering everything else. Adding that second patty made it a beast of a burger! It was way too much for me to finish in one sitting, but that worked out perfectly because it became two meals and how the heck was it more delicious the next day? My friend ordered the Boss Burger, which came with lettuce, tomato, bacon, onion rings, Swiss and American cheeses, and their signature sauce. He made his a double too, which turned an already fully loaded burger into something absolutely massive! Both burgers looked impressive when they arrived. By the time I barely finished my half, he was practically done with his burger... how the... well, lol, he's a man! The restaurant was crowded when we visited, and only about half of the tables were clean. However, the customer service here is always great. I also like that they keep water available on the counter so you can easily help yourself. We had a great time laughing, talking, and even chatting with other customers who shared our love for Burger & Cream. That made the experience even more enjoyable! Many a Friday night, when I was the Defensive Coordinator for Lincoln High School, I'd find myself here. And on those hot summer days, my wife and I would stop in with our son Jonathan before heading off to watch Lincoln play Nevada City. So, yes... I have a little emotional investment in this place. Fast-forward to today, and I'm happy to report that the burgers are still worth talking about. The buns were soft, the meat was flavorful, and the whole burger experience hit the spot. And, of course, my family gave the milkshakes their official seal of approval--which, in my household, is basically a Michelin star. The menu has plenty of good options, there's outdoor seating, and the staff is genuinely working hard. They're multitasking like their lives depend on it, so every once in a while you may need to repeat your order. But honestly, I'd rather see people working hard and trying to take care of everyone than standing around looking bored. Parking can be a bit challenging, too. Consider it part of the dining experience--your appetizer is finding a parking space. So why only four stars? The wait. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. It wasn't terrible, but when you're hungry enough to start considering whether ketchup packets are technically a meal, 20 minutes feels like a lifetime. That said, the food was really good, the staff was friendly, and there's a genuine sense that people are working hard to make this place successful. I went w the Guido adding pastrami to their 1/3 lb patty. Their homemade burger sauce is a thousand island relative. Maybe a touch too much sauce but uber tasty. My wife had the Double D burger - double the patty!!! The waffle fries were well prepared and wonderfully seasoned - maybe some of the best fries seasoning in a long while. Maybe on the pricey side but I think it was very fair for the quality they serve. On a Sunday afternoon it was a constant stream of customers, but they have some indoor seating and plenty of covered outdoor seating with misters. Names are called on the speaker and they have several windows to pick up at. Orders are placed inside or outside at the window. I ordered the Guido (pastrami burger), halfsies (family size of fries and onion rings, opted for waffle fries), and a vanilla twisty with heath bar. The Guido is excellent, but you have to know what you're in for. With the pastrami and the deli mustard, it tastes overwhelmingly like a pastrami sandwich and less like a burger. But the patty, cheese, and veggies do add something to it. It's also very messy, but it was delicious. The onion rings were excellent. They have that smooth batter style, sorta kinda like tempura. My wife prefers the panko style so she was more into the fries. For the fries, they were good but I'd probably opt for normal fries next time instead of waffle fries. I was expecting something somewhat similar to chick fil a, but these were a little on the thicker side and almost had the texture of potato wedges. I'm also not a big fry seasoning guy, and these were well seasoned. But that's a me thing. We still ate them all and you know when I come back I'm not leaving here without fries. The twisty was really good. I might be the only one, but I'm such a sucker for heath bar when I saw it on the menu I had to order it. The ice cream was really good quality. Had a great texture and taste. They were generous with the heath bar. I'm aware I took down a disgusting amount of food, but I think if I could change one thing I'd get the larger size of the twisty next time. It was really good. Every and anytime we're in the area, we've stopped by Burger & Cream just because its a SOLID spot to get a burger, fries and/or a sweet treat! Order at the window outside or go inside. Bathrooms were located on the side of the building. On the other side of the building, you'll see outdoor seating which is perfect if you plan on dining with your dog. Food orders come out fairly quick as well so come hungry and ready to eat. I've only tried their burgers, onion rings, fries, waffle fries, chicken tenders and shakes. I have yet to try the other options on their menu but tempted to try their fish and chips next time. I appreciate that they have a kids menu since my daughters usually don't have a huge appetite. My fish sandwich was not overly flavorful which enabled me to truly enjoy the fish's crispy texture and the bun's softness. I also appreciated how flexible the restaurant was in preparing my milkshake as it combined both chocolate and mint together. I would've liked if the milkshake's ice-cream was a more organic or a locally-made source rather than using the Ghirardelli brand. The Halfsie is a family size mix of the best onion rings and fries I've ever had! It's served with ketchup and amazing ranch! Hubby loved his swirl! The hot dog is 1/4 pound split grilled served on a brioche bun $7.50. The burger and hot dog buns are grilled giving it a slightly caramelized and nutty flavor. The beef taco is ground angus served on a grilled flour tortilla $3.50. For the taco, the cheese was a slice of American. Due to the heat of the ground beef, it melts a bit creating a beautiful rippled, slightly bubbled up slice. They even offer a a dairy free, vegan friendly Dole Whip. LI and vegan folks, don't have to miss out on the soft serve action. The indoor dining room seating is abundant, but in close proximity to each other. Very cozy seating arrangement. Haven't visited a Burgers and Cream location in a few years, but I still remember how good the burgers were--and to this day, people still swear by it. I'm rarely close enough to one to justify the stop, but work had me in the area, so I had to swing by. I ordered the Spicy Johnny with a side of small fries and ate outside since the weather was nice. Probably took no more than 8 minutes from the time I ordered and was a fair price. Let's talk fries. They were thick, insanely crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. I'm a fry enjoyer--I'll eat them soggy, undercooked, overcooked, whatever. I love fries. But once you've had a truly good fry, you start noticing the details... the nuance. And these? Borderline perfect. The texture was phenomenal, and they were salted just right. As for the burger--I'm always down for bacon and jalapeños, so the Spicy Johnny was a no-brainer. The worker even recommended it, even though I was probably already going to order it anyway. The bun was sturdy and fresh, the red onions were sweet (must've been rinsed or soaked), and the patty? Amazing. The flavor was somewhere between a backyard family BBQ and a classic diner burger. You can tell they're not lying about their beef blend; it's noticeable in every bite. Whatever sauce they had on there was addicting. My only complaint was that the cheese quite literally got lost in the sauce. Would I drive 45 minutes just for this burger? Probably not. But do I wish they had one in Sacramento? 100%. Burger & Cream blends sweet and juicy mandarin oranges from local Miller-Honey Farm in Newcastle, CA with its vanilla soft serve ice cream. It's so good. Better than the mandarin milkshake I had from a local farm. Smooth, thick, creamy with a fresh orange juice flavor. If you love the Orange Creamsicle bar, you'll enjoy this. So sad that it's only available a limited time during local mandarin orange season. I also highly recommend the CHICKEN TACO and BEEF TACO. The tacos are large, not street taco size. The flour tortillas are grilled on the flat top, so they're lightly crisped. Toppings include lettuce, tomato, and onion. The $4.20 Chicken Taco is overflowing with diced chicken breast with Tillamook Cheddar. I feel like I am making a healthier choice by choosing chicken. Because there was so much chicken, I didn't notice the cheese as much. The slightly less expensive $3.50 Beef Taco has Angus ground beef with melty American cheese. If you want to taste your cheese, go with this tasty Beef Taco. FYI: I asked about the $3.30 Burrito. It comes frozen and is deep fried. If I recall correctly, it contains ground beef and beans. The food is excellent and their floats and shakes are some of the best. Their only drawback is they are pricey and their burgers don't come with fries or a drink so by the time you order a burger and fries and drink your looking at $25 to $30 dollars and because of that I am only giving them 4 stars read more
