The Reuben eggs Benedict will literally change your life. I'm a Reuben guy for lunch and an eggs Benedict guy for breakfast. And when they told me they had that on the menu, I had to try it. And it was absolutely incredible. There are the definition of a local, small business, And they do an amazing job. The service is incredible. The food comes out very quick. Spent $40 For Two, Left Disappointed. I don't understand how this is #1 for auburn, genuinely the food was unappetizing, and incredibly high priced. The taste of the biscuits and gravy had a real faux smoked meat and burnt flavor. the sausage patty didn't even taste like italian seasoning was used, had some real funk. but either way all three of our plates were able to maintain a dirty wash rag taste. read more

Ample parking available, so that was a valued convenience after the drive from Bay Area to Auburn and that too by breakfast time. Even as you walk in, you instantaneously know without being told : That's Nancy! the owner and frontend manager for this establishment with a larger-than-life demeanor, who catches your eye and greets you with huge welcoming smile and a booming Hello. By the time she seats you, she knows all about you (without being the least nosy) and you immerse into conversations with her as if you both knew each other all your lives. And believe me, she does this with every single customer who walks through the door, e-v-e-r-y, s-i-n-g-l-e, o-n-e. Order taking is an art and each business owner should take tips from her. She keeps you engaged in chit-chat, sometimes even engaging sets of customers, who never knew each other before, and who finally walk out bidding goodbyes as friends , promising to catch up the next time they are here. And by this time, before you know it, you order is taken, and she is off to the next table. While the fare served is standard breakfast, but the kind attention by Nancy makes everything so special ! The vibe of the place is of a well-known and long running breakfast place and food arrives quickly. BTW Nancy will speak to you about the jams and hot sauces she has for sale. And the paintings on the wall. If she does not, you should ask her. Even if you do not buy any of them, you will go back with lovely memories and recollections of the conversations on them. I think her care and attention to her customers rubs off on her clientele too. We were soon talking with 2 gentlemen sitting on an adjacent table and thoroughly enjoyed our interactions. A great option for breakfast when we visit Auburn. Small, hole in the wall"ish" and filled with pleasant servers who are very attentive to your needs. I had the steak and eggs while my wife had plain old bacon and eggs. We both got the hash browns but next time I think I want to see how the diced potatoes come out. My steak was cooked just as ordered and a nice touch is the addition of mushrooms and onions on the steak - great flavor in the morning. We will be back when next in Auburn read more

We've been enjoying Nancy's Cafe for a couple of years now. Overtime, it's the only place we go for breakfast in Auburn. It's consistently always good and Nancy treats everyone like they are a trusted best friend. Today we went for the first time during the lunch hour. It was not busy. Getting a booth was easy with no wait. The lunch portions were huge and tasty. I went with the Western Burger with chicken fried bacon, onions and BB sauce. Sooo good. This was the first time we have been there without Nancy being there. The rest of the staff is also awesome. Also, today was the first time we have been able to score a take home bottle of the Firehouse Nine Hot Sauce. It's probably a good thing that we don't live closer to Nancy's! read more

No frills breakfast/lunch spot that's must for hearty, down home food. Located close to the freeway for a quick stop if necessary. Always full of regulars which is great to see. Also clean and well-maintained. Nancy's is family-owned and operated and it's apparent based on the thought and care they put into both their food and service. Parking is plenty inside a shopping complex with a Save Mart. Waited 10 minutes in our car to be seated in a booth. Small place though for a popular brunch spot. Tables spaced less than 6 feet apart. They have framed pop art paintings that caught this geek's attention with the Miyazaki and Monsterverse watercolors displayed on the wall adjacent to us. Service was quick and attentive. Got our coffee and drinks. Another 10 minutes and we got our food orders in. I got the San Francisco Omelette with a side of fruit ($1.50 add-on worth it with the fruit variety). Wife got the Corned Beef Hash. Son got the Cheeseburger. We ordered a side of 1pc Pancake ($5) and 3pcs Chicken Fried Bacon ($10). These orders filled up our table. They were all flavorsome and generoulsy portioned. To-go boxes were requested at the end of this brunch. Don't forget the Fire Nine Hot Sauced. Delectable with just enough heat. Nancy's exclusively has them and sells them for $8 a bottle. Being the cheapo that I am, I just filled-up a small sauce cup with our boxes. Definitely worth a revisit. Excited for this place already! Searched "Breakfast" here on Yelp and adjusted for distance--we're heading home today and didn't want to stray too far from I-80. Upon arriving we are already smitten. The place is packed, even the one table outside. We love the artwork on the walls. At first I thought some had fallen off the walls, until I saw the art is for sale. It really is good. Also, super friendly greeting and service. Since their website doesn't work, I thought I'd post some photos of the menu and today's Specials. I LOVE this place! Today I brought a friend. I ordered corned beef hash. YUM! Lots of places claim their version is homemade, but this is the absolute real deal. Eggs poached to perfection, crispy hash browns, hot and scrumptious. I ordered a side of hollandaise, too, which made the entire meal absolute heaven. Very nice people, very good food. Highly recommend this to ALL food lovers looking for a quality meal at a fair price. Oh! I wanted to include what my pal ordered, which was the senior half breakfast with the chicken apple sausage. Two years later we come back this place. I am still pleasantly pleased You definitely get plenty of food. In fact we could have shared a plate. The breakfast here is delicious. I had hash browns and eggs and my husband had the special breakfast, eggs, bacon, hash browns and sausage. Cook to perfection. We both also ordered fresh squeezed orange juice and it was so fresh!! Bottom line: food was fine but not anywhere near 5 stars to us. Art work was cool. Service was mediocre. Price was high for what you get and the service. I'm torn between a 2 or a 3 for this place mostly based on the art on the walls. I'm not really sure why it has such good reviews and I hate to leave a poor one but we came here based on reviews I think leaving one I feel is accurate to base a visit on is warranted. Food and service equated to about a Denny's or IHOP for me but more expensive and service not really as good.. It was $95 + tip so we paid $115 for 4 kid meals and 2 adults, 3 kid drinks and a coffee. Also if a kids meal is $8-$10 I kinda expect it includes a drink but my fault for not checking that. Don't expect a coffee refill. The art was cool and my kids really enjoyed looking for the characters (it's a lot of Disney and Pokémon etc.). The service was lacking. The guy who got our drinks was friendly so we appreciated that. Our server had a mask on and barely talked. I had to flag him down to ask for anything we needed. He never checked on us. I didn't get a coffee refill etc. Food was mediocre. Eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce was thick and sweet- kind of diner style taste which isn't my favorite. I expected homemade lighter but rich flavor. The kids pancakes Included 3 small baseball size pancakes ($8.75). My brother said his breakfast burrito was fine but not special. Best of what we ordered was the kids French toast. I'd go back if I was really hungry and in that shopping center but with much lower expectations. Not 5 stars to me. Nice little cafe restaurant that we experienced for a late breakfast/early lunch. Was packed when we got there but luckily one booth was available (inside) for dining. You pick your own seat and they quickly come to ask your drink order. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. Nice 80's music playing in the background. Our server was Nancy. She was super nice and attentive. Our food took about 15 mins to come out so my niece and I had an opportunity to visit and chat while we waited. My coffee stayed topped off. Yelp came to the rescue today! It was just daylight and I had driven for an hour down a less than 30 miles Lind very curvy and narrow. I pulled into a parking lot and opened Yelp. Nancy's Cafe popped up and was only half a mile away. I'm sure I wouldn't have found it without Yelp because it's towards the back of a shopping center. I walked in to cozy, friendly feeling place and was greeted with a warm smile and told I could choose my seat. I chose the Fire Inside Omelette with roasted red potatoes and rye toast. The omelette had sausage, spinach, pepper jack cheese and jalapeño. I was delighted that I didn't have to ask for salsa, as you can see by the picture. Service was amazing and I now have a go to place next time I'm in Auburn. read more

First off I've never been to a restaurant and thought that everything was the best! After having a very heartbreaking evening, our group found ourselves at Nancy's. What a wonderful surprise, not only was the food absolutely amazing, the service was friendly and restaurant was very clean. My fiancé ordered The Mess. I ordered the 2x2x2, I don't eat eggs so they let me substitute for hash browns, which were the best hash browns I've ever had! I went with the bacon, which the server recommended and was a fantastic choice. The bacon was actually bacon!! Not some microwave, thin atrocity. Then the pancakes, WOW. Just WOW. Best pancakes I've ever had in my life. My fiancé isn't the biggest pancake fan but tried a bite and said they were the best pancakes he's ever had! Hands down best breakfast I've had! Came here for brunch after a drive back from Tahoe. They were able to seat our large group with no notice, and all the food came out pretty quickly.
