Spicy Tuna Sandwich
Lauren P.

The Healthy Habit is a simple and fresh eatery where you can get a variety of breakfast, lunch, fresh juices, acai, or coffee items. You order at the counter and they'll bring you your food. The food tastes fresh and healthy. I ordered The Terry's Garden salad (mixed greens, tomatos, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage and sunflower seeds) and added chicken, which came to $19. I would've liked a little more chicken to make the salad feel heartier. I was still hungry after eating it. My husband got their Spicy Tuna sandwich, and he enjoyed the flavor & textures. For $15, I wish they had added a little bag of chips on the side, a pickle, or something small to complement the sandwich. Overall, I will definitely come back to try more food items as well as their fresh juices!

Choco Açaí Bowl

Came here for a quick, healthy meal after a weekend of skiing. The menu looked great, though definitely overpriced for what you're getting. I decided on the Choco Açaí Bowl since it seemed like the best value. I ordered last after my two friends, and we grabbed a table outside, which was a nice setup on a gorgeous sunny day. My friends got their sandwiches first, and about 10 minutes later, the waiter brought out their smoothies, apologizing for the wait. At this point, it should've been obvious that the third person at the table (me) was still waiting on food, but no effort was made to check on my order--especially frustrating since the place wasn't busy (only about two other customers). By the time my friends finished eating, I still had nothing, so I went inside to check. The cashier looked surprised and said, "Oh, they haven't brought you your food yet?" then quickly grabbed what seemed like a pre-made to-go order of my açaí bowl--despite my request to dine in. At that point, I had to eat on the road since I didn't want to hold up my friends. Getting your order forgotten is one of the worst dining experiences--frustrating, inconvenient, and honestly humiliating. Definitely disappointing service, and given the price point, I expected much better. Wouldn't return.

I've been to the healthy habit twice now and I've thoroughly enjoyed it!! I've gone with my friends both times after we went hiking in Auburn. It is the perfect healthy meal after a good workout. I've had two of their sandwiches but last time my friend and I split the BLAT and it was amazing and perfectly messy! The acai bowl is great. I highly recommend the strawberry banana smoothie it tastes so good. The service is wonderful and the place itself is adorable sitting inside or outside!

The North Shore with peanut butter
Will P.

So here's the deal: the açaí is good, big, and loaded with toppings. I got the North Shore with peanut butter on top, which was exactly what I wanted, fruity, savory, and filling. But you're gonna have to take out a loan to get this bowl- mine was almost $20. This is the cost of a close and delicious post-hike snack. The kids working here are nice, even though it can take a while to get what you ordered. I've been before and it's taken a half hour. I sat outside on their cute little patio and looked out at Lincoln Way, which is this small town's main street. Definitely worth it. Until next time, happy trails.

Drinks, sandwiches, garden courtyard- lots of choices, healthy choices!

Just a short stop here for a hot Chai Tea and a strawberry lemonade.... Great menu- full of choices Breakfast, lunch, açaí bowls, snacks Coffee, tea, many other beverages and "extras" Loved the patio Service was friendly though slow, but the drinks were really good. Great FRESH lemonade- tasted good and tart; Chai tea was frothy and a nice blend of spices.

This place is my favorite in Auburn. Great people, service, and the food is AMAZING. Great healthy options to accommodate everyone's needs. Definitely recommend!!!

Well, it was ok. The good news is I didn't over eat. Sorry, I don't think this was a $14.75 sandwich. It was ok, but nothing special. I understand inflation, but this seems way overpriced for what I got. The other person with me said their bread was stale. Not real thrilled.

The healthy habit was a perfect find! The turkey club was fantastic, their açaí bowls and smoothies are refreshing and healthy. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed the conversation. This is an absolute must when passing through Auburn. We're looking forward to our next visit!

Great food ! Great service! Chai latte was amazing ! Justin created a great experience and made some great recommendations!

Spicy tuna sandwich
Bethany L.

Disappointed. I tried what was recommended which was the spicy tuna sandwich. For starters I was asked if I wanted to add avacado, for an extra charge of course... and I did. However when I got home with my to go order and looked at my sandwich, there was absolutely no avocado. Also it should've been called a tomato sandwich, because there was barely any tuna, but a gigantic tomato that overtook the sandwich. And like everything else these days, it had a hefty price tag for just a sandwich that was subpar. $17 for the sandwich, and not impressive. Won't go here again unfortunately.

Enter a new world Of beautiful organic eating. I'd rate it a billion. I got a vegan wrap with a green goddess juice. It was amazing.

They serve organic coffee and I could really taste the difference. They currently have a seasonal menu and their regular menu included some unique options. The maple latte caught my eye; I ordered it with oat milk and it was one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had. Seriously! It wasn't overpoweringly sweet, but there was enough flavor so it actually tasted like a maple latte instead of a warm milk as many special drinks end up tasting from my experience. It's always disappointing to buy an expensive coffee that doesn't have enough flavor, but you'll get what you pay for here. They offer a few little snacks and there is tons of seating (indoor and outdoor!) with beautiful natural light, art and plants. The baristas were kind and helpful and made beautiful latte art. If you love it as much as I did, you can even buy coffee beans and merchandise as well. It's tucked away in downtown placerville and I would highly recommend Pachamama to everyone!

This particular one is in Placerville, right on touristy Main Street. Well It's actually tucked in a shopping pedestrian alley right off Main Street. The coffee is delicious. I've had their various drip coffees before, all terrific tasting. My usual go to's are their lattes. This time I was in the mood for a seasonal winter drink, wintermint mocha. Yum! I ordered it with oat milk and they don't up charge. The mocha had a smooth, creamy chocolate espresso taste. I even got a pretty design of foamed milk on top of my drink. Aww it was cute. No up charge for that as well and I didn't even ask them to do it Outside the cafe is an outdoor courtyard with bistro tables for folks to sit n enjoy their coffee or whatever. I say whatever because the area is open for all to sit a spell. The courtyard is enclosed with brick buildings around its square perimeter. The buildings provide ample shade and cooling temps in the summer. Plus there is a water fountain that provides a calming zen like sound of trickling water. The cafe also has an indoor seating area. The interior furniture includes tables, sofas, lounge chairs, and high top tables aesthetically giving off modern, minimalist Scandinavian design vibes. Luvin this look.

I don't have high expectations for this place, aside from it being on the river I was expecting possibly cool views and mid coffee at best. So we drove a little over an hour to get here. We had nothing else to do lol. Warning if you get car sick easily, the drive up is a very winding road but a beautiful drive. We arrived about 11am. This is lunch hour, so they serve their lunch items. They're only open until 3pm. They have a very short, simple menu. Just a couple sandwiches. Honestly I wasn't expecting much. When we arrived it's an extremely old town. The coffee shop was so so small. There is a good amount of seating inside , they designed it pretty well to get as many seats in there. However , it can feel congested and claustrophobic. They have plenty of picnic tables outside that lead up to the river. So many photo ops. Absolutely beautiful. After we ate we went exploring . You can even pan for gold, and some historical buildings to explore inside which was neat. Service was friendly and fast. Turned out to be a beautiful unexpected adventure coming here. Oh! Almost forgot about the coffee and food. So as I mentioned, I thought it would be basic, mid. I was impressed with the coffee flavors, I ordered Cinder & Smoke and the matcha latte. The matcha was well made and you can taste they used good quality matcha, I loved the hint of smokiness without being overly sweet in the Cinder & smoke latte. Also tried out the Coloma Caprese panini. It tasted amazing. Very fresh. I was surprised I enjoyed it that much. So if you're up for a day of adventure, this place is definitely worth visiting.

The online ordering system was not working - it balked at payment - so I phoned them and ordered that way. On the day, we got a pile of plastic bags each labeled with our name, and inside mine I found my hot sandwich, still pretty warm, inside a foil wrapper. Mine was the Italian melt, lots of different kinds of meat plus provolone and a little onion and pepperocini and a mildly spicy marinara sauce lightly dabbed in. It was not too thick but nicely dense, as well as delicious, with a well chosen mix of ingredients. I didn't want too much bread, so I ordered it on marble rye, and that turned out to be fairly thin, not overwhelming, and also strongly and delightfully flavored. There is a bathroom that you must ask for a key to. Once 1:30 rolled around, I was excited to try my sandwich given the great reviews, then came 1:40, then 1:50, and I did not have my sandwich until around 1:55. I worked in a sandwich shop for 3 years, so I know sometimes a wait is unavoidable and can recall dealing with rude customers, so I did not approach the staff regarding the wait. They were trying their best to accommodate the orders. However-- 35 minutes for 2 sandwiches, I think, is a little excessive. In the end, my sandwiches were spectacular, genuinely well crafted, and met (maybe even surpassed) my expectations. When I got back to my car, I noticed the worker (owner?) gave me a full sandwich despite me ordering half. I wasn't sure if this was purposeful as means of saying "our bad", or just a mistake, but I will say it left me in better spirits. If you have some extra time to kill, with friends etc., this is a must try. However, if you are on ANY sort of time restriction, I would not recommend stopping here. I'm sure this is not always the case, but as a stop on a long drive, I did not consider an extra 45 minutes for a sandwich. If the owners are reading this, I truly mean well and hope you know a long wait is a sign of success. Growth is inevitable!
