I walked in and. I was seated pretty quickly and the waitress took my order in a timely manner. I ordered the chicken Parmesan sandwich and the portion size was great and the sandwich was very good and the bread was very soft and fresh and the same goes for salad side as well. The ambience is upscale with a casual vibe it's great place to go after walking around the area.
Came back after 4 years with positive memories of it prior. Service has gone way downhill. Our waitress hardly checked in yesterday, and my one year old spilled my entire drink. Rather than replacing it she charged us for two but by the end since we had already waited for her to bring us our check ( she forgot, I had to go find her to get the check) I didn't even fight it. Probably wouldn't come back after that experience. New York style pizza was good, we did a build our own of that, better than the margarita. Bucatini without meat was pretty good and the rolls appetizer and kale/quinoa salad was decent ( a little dry) Yesterday was a 3.5- averaged it with my previous review to reach a 4.
Tried Source Pizza after hearing a lot of buzz on the radio about being one of the top pizza places in Greater Boston area, and it lived up to expectations. Do keep in mind though that their pizzas are the kind you eat with a knife and fork and will fall apart if you try to hold it with your hand. We went with the seasonal pizza and added prosciutto, plus the seasonal salad. The pizza was really tasty with great flavor throughout and the prosciutto brought all the flavors together. The seasonal salad had a refreshing yuzu vinaigrette that was light and flavorful, though the portion was on the smaller side. Great ambiance for brunch - quiet and had a very clean atmosphere. Parking in Harvard Square also might be easier in the morning versus afternoon and evening. Service was good but they seemed to not come by very often despite the place not being too busy. I had to flag them down for water. Overall, enjoyed my experience and would go back.
This spot was absolutely adorable. The staff was super personable and I loved every moment there. We just went for drinks, but I'll have to go back at some point for dinner---everything looked and smelled amazing! The cocktail I had was really good and I've had a lot of cocktails! The combo of the vodka, lemoncello, blackberry and lemon was smooth and memorable. It was also presented in a stunning fashion. What a great experience!
I'm here to highlight the brunch menu, the bubblies, and good vibes on a Sunday morning at the Source Restaurant! This place is a fantastic spot to share a meal. I came here with two girlfriends and we instantly felt relaxed. The brunch menu offers a little of everything for everyone from shareable plates, to pizza, to pasta, and to the morning fixings. I'm happy to say that we ordered more than enough for the table and happy to bring home a bag of leftovers. The Margherita pizza was airy and delicious. Send Nooods was cooked perfectly and so creamy with every bite. The brussel sprouts was a table favorite as it was sweet and a little spicy. And the Coming to merica plate had every food group. The restaurant is classy and yet down to earth. The staff are very friendly and very attentive. We were able to make a reservation online with no problems. And there is plenty of street parking close by.
a friend and i decided to come here on a sunday evening, and the ambiance was so comfortable. the staff seemed a little all over the place. our food was good, i loved the whipped ricotta with really unique, delicious toppings, however it was kind of burnt on the outside and the center was still doughy. the chopped salad was good, we ordered a neopolitan pizza with red onion, garlic and sausage which was yummy, but i wish they had ground sausage rather than links. the tagliatelle was pretty good as well. whipped ricotta 4/5 chopped salad 4/5 neopolitan pizza 4/5 tagliatelle 4/5 our meal was better than average, yet as friendly as the service was, i wished they were more attentive. overall, i'd try source restaurant again when in harvard square. ambiance: 5/5 food: 4/5 drinks: n/a service: 3/5 source: 4/5
Source was good! We ate off of the dine out Boston menu, but their regular menu was much better. Our waitress was wonderful- she gave so many tips and suggestions and was so kind and friendly. The best thing we ate was the whipped ricotta. It was so tasty and the portion size was pretty big. It was such a standout! The source chopped salad was also really good with just the perfect amount of dressing. The hummus was pretty good, nothing too out of the ordinary. I had the cod almondine, which I believe is exclusive to the dine out menu. The fish was cooked perfectly, though I wish there was a little more seasoning or sauce. Everything the fish came with was really good. The pizza crust was delicious too. The vanilla trifle for dessert was one of the highlights, with such a great balance of layers with cake and mousse and whipped cream. Overall the restaurant is really nice, I also got to have their brunch which was honestly better than the dinner!
Great meal in the welcoming and bright Source in Harvard Square. Creative cocktails and delicious food. Their seasonal pizza is one the best I've had in recent memory. Friendly and attentive service. Open for lunch and not too busy.
3.8/5 Decent food and drinks, not so decent prices. Came here on a Monday for their $26 three course dinner deal. You get an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert for $26. I chose arancini for the appetizers: they were small and had an uninteresting filling. My friend got the whipped ricotta with bread: creamy and delicious but the bread was stale. Then for my entree, I chose the eggplant triple stack. This was standout. It was more of a sandwhich stacked with crispy eggplant, prosciutto, and a creamy basil sauce with an arugula salad on the side, although the salad dressing was lacking in flavor. The dessert was an alright tiramisu with a pointless and soggy pirouette included. They give you wine paring suggestions which is nice! All in all the food and service were great, but they add a 4% kitchen fee. That on top of tip and the drink you inevitably order makes the price not that great a deal. Next time I go, I want to try the pizza which looked quite good. Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5 Deal: 2/5
The food here is good! A bit on the pricier side but you get quite a bit of food. The pizza was a bit too greasy for my taste, but I truly enjoyed everything else. Service was quick, nice, and efficient. Pretty friendly. Ambiance is low lighting, close/shared tables, and pretty sleek but humble. I liked that the plates were all different from each other.
This place was as amazing as expected! Staff were very helpful and friendly, food was absolutely incredible, and vibes were just immaculate! First off, the Brussels were amazing! They were on the sweeter side, which is how I love my Brussels, but I know that might not be for everyone. The pizza was the highlight of the meal. It was a big enough size that my spouse and I shared it, but it definitively would've been a bit much for 1 person to eat, unless you really love pizza! This place is a must stop if you're visiting Harvard.
Awesome pizza - this is the pepperoni pizza of dreams. The pepperoni itself is so delicious, fresh, and flavorful. Ask for some ground pepper and cracked red pepper and sprinkle a little on for an extra kick. I liked the rigatoni and creste de gallo, but they seemed a bit too similar in flavor for me. Thought shallots weren't that necessary as they were overpowering in the rigatoni, while the creste de gallo could've used some more sausage. I was not a fan of the carbonara at all. The poached egg on top just wasn't my style so I only ended up eating a noodle or two of this dish. The poached egg led to odd bits of egg white all over the pasta, and the dish lacked in flavor. I don't think they use parmesan so it could've used that for creaminess, saltiness, and nuttiness. Great beer and cocktail menu and the interior is gorgeous. Service can be a hit or miss, but it was great on my last trip, so I think they're figuring out what works. My first time here, I ended up having to wait several full minutes for someone to come over and acknowledge us at the entrance. read more

I was visiting Harvard when I came across this restaurant. It provides indoor/outdoor options. Although this is just a side fact, the playlist was fantastic! My mom and I came during lunch which they were offering a lunch special of a 1/2 salad and any pizza turned into a calzone. The reason this place doesn't get five stars is due to the calzone being underwhelming. It was a lot of bread, way too much cheese (and I'm a cheesy person) and lack of sauce. So overall very dry. However, the salad was the best salad I have had. We both ordered the source chopped (mine without bacon). I recommend getting a full source chopped as the dressing was delicious. The calzones we ordered were artichoke and pepperoni. Again, both underwhelming. Overall, the atmosphere, drinks, location and salads were above expectations. Staff was also very friendly and helpful! read more

Overall, 7/10. While the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pretty great, the food itself was unfortunately mediocre. We got the Brussels sprouts, bucatini and tagliatelle. The Brussels sprouts were quite crispy but the sauce was too sweet and sticky for my liking. Their bucatini was alright but for some reason tasted rather sour. Probably the best thing we got was the tagliatelle. That said, however, it did lack some seasoning. Overall, pretty alright but had lots of room for improvement. read more

This restaurant is conveniently located next to one of the public parking lots in Harvard yard. In August, it was sooooooo hot, and the idea of a cold drink after being blasted with humidity sounded so good. The drinks were fun, and the wings we ordered hit a good spot as well. The only downside were the bathrooms - they were warmer than the outside! read more

We stopped here for brunch while visiting Boston and was a little skeptical since they seem to be mainly a pizza spot. To my surprise it was amazing!!!! Omg the food was amazing, the environment super chill, the staff so friendly, and super vibey music! We stopped by without a reservation, but since they had just opened up they were able to sit us pretty quick. I would recommend getting a reservation since it did fill up in minutes! DRINKS: We got american coffee with sugar, the Brunch Punch, and a Mimosa. The brunch punch was amazing tasted mostly like pineapple :) FOOD: For food we went with the Eggs in Purgatory, Blueberry Souffle Pancakes, 2 Eggs Any Style, and the Neo Pizza. The pancakes were amazing, a little crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I also 2 sunny side up eggs to accompany my pancakes and it was the perfect breakfast. Our friends ordered the Eggs in Purgatory and made me wish i had gotten it, it looked sooo good. They both said it was really good although one of they dishes had runny eggs and the other's was fully cooked. We also tried the Neo pizza which was also good. I would definitely come back here and recommend it to everyone! read more

Classic restaurant in Harvard square. Pizza is good (but not absolutely mind blowing, although that is a high bar). My favorites are the arancini, brussel sprouts (which is super surprising because I usually don't like brussel sprouts at all). Carbonara was very good (although u wouldn't recommend the vegetarian carbonara). Service was fantastic - very attentive, quick to deal with large parties such as mine. Ambiance is also great - a great place for a date night or friends dinner! read more
Amazing food!! Kyle was a great story teller and shared how the pizza dough was accidentally made. His enthusiasm and passion for source pizza made the experience memorable. We got the hangover pizza and tiktok famous pancakes. I loved the pizza ~ the dough was perfect. I usually don't eat the crust but I ate the whole crust here. Would come back for the pizza and french toast (which was sold out). On the other hand, I didn't get the hype of the pancakes and would pass on it. Overall great food, service, and ambiance!! read more

Lauraine,…
Really awesome brunch spot in Harvard Square! I had a fabulous time with my girlfriends. Where to begin, their cocktails are awesome, the prices are SUPER reasonable, and the variety of the menu is much appreciated (especially if you're hungover). I can't remember the name of my drink, but it was tasty AND came in a tiki glass. We started with the warm burrata and this was a hit. Normally burrata is served over an arugula salad/not very filling... but this was served with a HUGE slice of bread which was much appreciated! I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was solid, the real hit at the table was the hangover pizza! The cheese on this was amaze. The service was really good (let us take our sweet sweet time placing orders), and again... the prices are very fair. I cant recommend this place enough! read more
Nice upscale but still casual spot for pizza and pasta. Very nice, modern ambiance. Super friendly waitstaff eager to give recommendations. I had the margarita pizza, made in the classic Neapolitan style and really enjoyed it--simple but the great ingredients shine through. My friend had a pasta dish and liked it too. We came for lunch but I imagine it would be a nice diner/evening spot since they've got a good list of drinks and desserts. One of the better places in Harvard square for a slightly upscale meal. read more
Cute little spot in Harvard Square. My brunch mate and I were able to make reservations, and the staff was patient with us and let us hang and enjoy our cocktails for hours. The hangover pizza was the best food we ordered - great crust. The soufflé pancakes were unfortunately not soft at all, and the potatoes were creamy but unseasoned. Overall, mediocre food, decent tasting (but expensive) cocktails, and grea service if you're in a pinch and need a brunch place in the area. read more

honestly these 5 stars are mainly for the Brussels sprouts. They're deep fried and covered with a miso chili honey glaze which is to die for--our waiter (great service btw) said it's like candy and we definitely were addicted to them. Get the Brussels sprouts as your starter and if you have more than 3 people consider getting 2 plates--seriously. The pizza was good but honestly nothing super impressive bc I think there's a lot of cheaper great pizza joints in Cambridge, just maybe not with as unique or fresh toppings. We got the merguez with sausage, pecorino, and broccoli rabe and it was nice thin crust pizza but I probably would just try the pasta next time I'm here. read more

This is a great place for brunch. You walk in and the place is simple, clean, crisp, full of light, airy, bright and clean and crisp with bright white walls, great lighting, big windows front and back and light colored wooden tables with black legs and black chairs and and simple sketched/painted black or gray art along those white walls is a very nice touch the painted rooster is a focal point. The staff is amazing and so is the food. There are some must tries on this menu such as the french toast with bananas omg I don't normally eat bananas but can I just tell you this French toast is everything! All the ingredients and textures compliment each-other. You have to get those fluffy soufflé pancakes, the pizza's yes I didn't get to try but the people next to me did and that guey cheese pull and that crisp wood fire type fluffy crust i was like I must try! There were so many other items I wanted to try. The espresso martini was delicious instead of whole coffee beans on top they put ground coffee been on top and it gave it the right texture to my drink. It would be a go to place to eat for sure! read more

The fresh and local brunch at Source was so delicious that I'm still dreaming about it the next day. After a wild night out at Big Night Live the hangover pizza and house made Bloody Mary's really hit the spot. There's something so satisfying about those thick cut pepperonis that curl and sizzle. Everything we tried here was delicious including the caramel chili glazed sprouts and crispy potatoes. The deconstructed grilled cheese was described to us by the server as "a glorified mozzarella" stick, and it was glorious indeed. It was so perfectly crunchy on the outside and gooey within -- the stuff Instagram reels are made of. Let's just say, I rolled in feeling defeated by my late night ransacking of the hotel mini bar and left completely REVIVED and ready to take on the day. Do not sleep on this place. The interiors are adorable but they also offer covid-friendly outdoor dining. The owner Daniel is hella good vibes to boot. 10/10 would crush this meal again. I just wish we lived closer... until the next time we're in Boston! read more

Loved the charred crust. Plenty of thick pepperoni. The caramelized onions were an added benefit to the pepperoni pizza. Price was $18. It served 2 people with 2 slices as leftovers. We did take out and it was made awaiting us to pu k right up. So timing was good. read more

I've been here a few times now. Staff was fun and friendly. Good spot for a meal that's for business or pleasure. The menu consists of amazing pizza, pasta, and a handful of appetizers. Pizza - I really loved the dough they use for their pizza. They also use it to make some delicious bread for the table. The pepperonis on the pizza were top quality, you can taste and see the difference. Bucatini - this was a Carbonara dish and the chunks of pancetta were perfectly crispy Brussel Sprouts - Prepared on the sweeter side, which is fine for me. You can definitely taste the honey they use to add just the right amount of flavor. They might be my favorite Brussel sprouts in Boston. read more
The source has such a nice ambience with a variety of items on their menu! We got three things.... The pepperoni pizza which was a decent size for the price. It was very flavorful but the only thing was that it was very oily with a puddle of oil in each pepperoni which wade it a bit heavy. The tagliatelle was delicious with a nice meaty flavor and a great bite to the pasta. This dish was great but the portion was a bit small - did not feel full after eating it. The nyc pizza we got to customize with three toppings including the pepperoni, bacon and sausage. This pizza was super tasty and was packed with toppings but the one thing was that the bacon topping was very minimal compared to the others - we almost didn't taste it at all. Still enjoyed my time at the source and would come back again! read more
I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Really cool lighting and service is great. I thought pizza and pasta dishes were average. The pizza dough is too soft to my liking. The crust might look crispy but it is not and does absorb the sauce. Some might prefer pizzas how source does it but it is not my preference. Pasta seems like it is freshly made and had great texture, but based on their price, I would give it an average score. I think their Rigatoni was the best dish we ordered. read more

The "CHOWDAAHHH"!!! A clam/bacon pizza that is more delicious than it has any business being. I'm a big fan of the "when in Rome" approach to dining when in a new city and Source, particularly their chowdaahhh pizza, didn't disappoint. Source was a cool joint to sit down and relax after checking out the Harvard campus. Great beer selection too. read more

Source has the best pepperoni pizza I've ever had and the other pizzas are pretty good as well! Their pepperoni is just a 10/10. It comes with caramelized onions (who doesn't love caramelized onions?) and what really makes it stand out is that the pepperoni curls into little cups that hold the vin cotto they add, which tastes like a sweet balsamic vinegar. That slight vinegar taste cuts through all the saltiness and fat from the pepperoni - it's perfect. I've also had the Eddie Special and the Merguez, which are both good but nothing special. The Eddie Special felt a bit heavy on the cream and both ended up getting really soggy quite quickly. Note that Source's pizzas are the type that are meant to be eaten with a fork and knife, but I still think it could have been less soggy with better flavor adjustments. Interior of restaurant is really nice and exterior is also great with outdoor seating set up. It's an ideal summer spot! read more

Going to brunch? Look no further! This was THE spot for a nice outdoor Sunday brunch with my bestie. Got the champagne bucket (comes with 3 juices, we chose pineapple, peach, and OJ). You NEED to get the Fluffy Pancakes. It was *chefs kiss* We also got a pizza, which they're known for, and the crust was delicious. I'll be back to try the carbonara! The table next to us got it and it looked SO good but I was already so full haha. And our waiter was so fun and attentive. Highly recommend this place! read more

Source came through on a night out in Boston that could have easily been a night locked in the hotel due to cold weather. After a long day of sightseeing, we were exhausted and just wanted something simple like pizza. Another restaurant that we had reservations for fell through so we found The Source on Open Table and quickly made a late reservation. We are sure glad we did. This is probably the best pizza I've had in awhile and the dark sophisticated, yet bar like atmosphere that The Source is going for is working for them. The pepperoni pizza was inundated with delicious peps and the Buffalo chicken pizza gave the satisfaction of eating wings and pizza all in one bite. I loved The Source so much. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Boston. read more

Source has been my new favorite restaurant since it's opening during covid. They have a team that is devoted to making good food and committed to making customers happy. I am impressed by how consistent their pizzas are. One of my go to's is the Tuscan kale and the spring vegetable (probably seasonal). The pepperoni is also yummy -- the pepperoni cups that hold the vin cotto drizzle really pulls together all the flavors. Believe it or not, the pizza dough is one of my favorite parts of the pizza. It's light and fluffy with the perfect amount of charred-ness. I can literally eat a whole pizza in one sitting with no regrets, but I always cut myself off bc I need to have their panna cotta. It's rich and creamy with a hint of fruitiness. Whatever is in there hits the right spot every time. read more

When pizza looks AND tastes this good you know it's a winner! Of course they have your typical margherita and pepperoni, but then they have something like the " eddie special" and you just have to get it. The eddie special pizza is topped with smoked ricotta, bacon, buffalo chicken, red onion and ranch. The smoked ricotta definitely came through and made the pizza that much betterand cheesier! But it was the crust for me! So airy with the perfect crunch. A crust really makes a pizza! Not only do they sell pizza but fire pasta too! The Crest de Gallo dish was one of the most creamiest, flavorful pasta ever! The fennel sausage had such a tasty flavor and the bully boy bourbon creme was the perfect addition. They have small plates too like their breaking bread topped with rosemary, thyme, pecorino, garlic! Perfect to start off before diving into those amazing entrees! Such a great experience and amazing food read more

super pleasant patio, friendly service and great food! Carbonara is one of my faves, and this one didn't disappoint. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the guanciale was delicious. The poached egg was a nice touch. This is a good example of quality ingredients making for a meal that feels indulgent but doesn't leave you feeling stuffy or gross. This is a great addition to the existing offerings in Harvard sq, I will be back to taste more of their menu for sure. read more

So this was the worst experience i've ever had at a restaurant We were seated when we entered and then waited 20 minutes for the actual server to come and greet us... When he approached the table he said do you have any questions for me instead of greeting us and presenting who he is or asking if we wanted drinks or anything. since we waited so long we ordered everything all at once the drinks took 15 minutes to come out and were probably 4oz and we paid 15 dollars for them and it was not good (apple synonym) onto the food we ordered bucatini and it tasted like nothing just really expensive boiled water... would not recommend we also got a margherita pizza that was so charred that it turned my fingers black when i touched it it also was missing the whole tomatoes on top and was very runny lastly make sure you read the fine print at the bottom of the menu because they charge a 4% kitchen appreciation fee that is automatically on the bill let me tell you i did not appreciate my pasta nor my pizza all around the vibe was not good everyone had a frown no smiles no talking no interaction with customers i will never go there again all around the worst $73 dollars i've ever spent anywhere and that's not including a tip read more

Stopped in for a Sunday lunch after seeing Source made best pizza in Boston in Boston Mag. We tried the chopped salad (excellent) and the pepperoni pizza (see below). Paired with beers, the food was great and the restaurant was inviting next to the Harvard Square market. The ambience was a bit pretentious but staff was kind and attentive. Would recommend! read more

Been here about 3 times in the span of 6 months and I am a big fan. In particular i love their pepperoni pizza and bucatini carbonara. The pizza crust is very light and fluffy and the caramelized onions gives an umami flavor! The bucatini pasta is so rich and decadent with the poached egg on top. I also really love their dessert! Service is great and ambience is nice and casual. Only thing is i wish it was a little cheaper. A whole pizza is between 22-27 dollars, and i can eat the whole thing myself. read more

I had the best evening here a couple weeks ago. I walked in without a reservation, and was seated immediately at the window (great view.). It was just me dining, but I had at least four people checking/waiting on me and everyone was so kind. The owner came over and had a conversation with me, which made the whole experience feel personal. The Bolognese was AMAZING and I crave it on a regular basis now (not even kidding.). The salad was also delicious and fresh, great add with the pasta. I did have their Rain Drops on Roses cocktail, which was very tasty but I would definitely try something else on the cocktail menu next time. Coming back ASAP for another meal and some homemade dessert :) read more
I had a good experience at source but not necessarily a great one. My mom and I sat at the bar and had lunch and the service was honestly really good. The food was a little overpriced but I enjoyed everything for the most part. The past was good but not anything to write home about. I did, however, really like the brussels sprouts. I would come back for those alone. It's a really small restaurant and gets crowded quick so it was a little loud when we went. I think this is definitely a nice spot to go with your family but it's not a place I'd be dying to go to if in the area. read more
