Very quick service. The food had unique fun flavors and combinations. Has nice outdoor seating. The seating inside is all high tops.

I fear the hype is real--it is actually as good as everyone says! It is quite hectic in there in the morning, so we ordered ahead. When we came to pick up, there was a long line and crowed. the decor is so nice, it is decorated so pretty in there. I was a little disappointed because i was hoping there would be a fun latte of the week, but it was the dot cake latte so i decided to skip it and just order a regular vanilla iced latte. My sister had the breakfast croissant with an egg and this nice maple chili sauce. There was absolutely no where at the restaurant to sit and eat, so we had to find a stoop on the street to eat. Besides the hectic logistics, the coffee and food tasted really good. I would come back here for dinner, or if the latte of the week sounded intriguing to me.

Busy! And worth it! The line for the Mercato went quickly and so was the wait for food. All the pastries looked fresh and flakey. I can't wait to try more. Plentiful coffee selection. Clean modern vibes.

I visited on a Saturday morning in July around 9:30am and the line was about 30 people deep. The line moved fast and I got my order within 15 minutes. The interior is modern, fresh, and clean and I look forward to visiting again when there's less people so I can really enjoy the space. The cold brew I got was basic (and $8 eek) but the strawberry croissant was amazingggg. The strawberries were cold, fresh, and tasted delightful with the croissant. Highly recommend!!

YUM. I had a fantastic (but expensive!) turkey sandwich from here. The bread was amazing and toasted perfectly; I could have eaten a whole loaf of it! I also appreciated that free cups of water are available. There's a "Sorelle" restaurant attached to this cute little cafe that had a gorgeous bar area from what I could see. I would definitely recommend this place as a great fast-casual lunch option in Charleston :)

This is such a cute coffee shop! It's split into a restaurant and quick coffee shop/lunch spot. They had sandwiches, coffees, pastries, and more. The chocolate strawberry latte had strawberry puree, which made it sweet. They chocolate drizzle combined made it taste exactly like a chocolate covered strawberry. If you like sweet coffee, this is a great option! They didn't currently have it on the menu, but I just asked if they could make it and they kindly said yes!! The croissants were great, not too crumbly. They had a nice crunch and a nice soft inside. The pistachio was a mild taste, but definitely nutty.

La Mercato is one of those spots in Charleston that you keep seeing all over TikTok and Instagram, so we had to check it out while visiting--and it's definitely a fun bakery to stop by. The space itself is super cute with both indoor and outdoor seating, and it has that lively café energy that makes you want to hang out for a bit. We ordered a slice of the Calabrian pizza, which had a super light crust and great toppings with a nice spicy kick. We also tried the breakfast panino with prosciutto, eggs, and pesto--simple but really tasty and satisfying. For drinks, we got the dark chocolate orange latte (hot) and an iced vanilla latte with cold foam. Both looked beautiful and tasted just as good, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, it's easy to see why this place is so popular. If you're visiting Charleston and want a trendy bakery with great coffee, pastries, and sandwiches, it's definitely worth stopping by.

First of all, it was so cute on the inside. We just stopped by to try a latte we had seen on their Insta page, and it was so good, literally made our entire day. I will say, although three of us ordered the same drink, each one was made differently, and only one of them had a lot of the blueberry on the inside of the cup.

I was really excited to try this place! I feel like it's the coffee shop in charleston I've heard the most about. The inside was decorated beautifully. I got there around 9:55am on a Saturday morning and the line wasn't too long at all. I ordered the Casper Latte which was their special edition fall drink and it was good! It was a sugar cookie latte with marshmallow fluff. I didn't think the coffee was necessarily exceptional but maybe it's because I got a seasonal latte. I ordered the chocolate croissant and I feel like it had really quality ingredients but I didn't think it was great because it wasn't warmed up. I should've asked but I just assumed that was standard. The staff was super nice! If you want to get a seat/table try to get there early.

I have had dinner at Sorelle, so I was super excited to get the Mercato! The food was amazing and the coffee was even better ! The best deal is the HUGE piece of pizza for $6!!

My favorite cafe in Charleston!!! This place is such a treat and has an incredible vibe; it felt warm, energetic, fun, but also comfortable, safe, and dependable. I got an iced latte, the English muffin sandwich and a donut and OMG. This was a great way to start my day. The staff were so friendly and despite there being a long line out the door and nonstop orders coming through, they remained calm and composed and continued to deliver their service and orders with great attention to detail. The vibe was so enjoyable that I did not mind waiting in line at all, and after we ordered our stuff came out after like 5 minutes, maybe 10 for the sandwich. The next time I visit Charleston this will be my first stop!

    Banana's Foster Latte and Pastry

This was one of the many stops I wanted to make during our Girl's Trip to Charleston. I had heard that this was "the place" to get coffee so obviously I had to visit. The coffee shop was well-decorated and has a variety of different seating options. The only thing is that it was extremely busy so I can't imagine taking a book or my laptop there to get some work done. I ordered the Banana's Foster Latte and a pastry (I'm forgetting the name of it). Honestly I was a bitttttt underwhelmed. I just felt like there was no discernible flavor that made it more special than any other coffee I had. I'm not sure if I would visit here again, but it's a really great place for photos.

My wife has a fish allergy and they offered to prepare a vegetable plate for her. They prepared three vegetable dishes, which were all excellent. He recommended the boulliabase which was phenomenal. I would highly recommend it to anyone. My wife also had the arugula salad, which was excellent. I started with the chicken liver pate, which is all it is claimed to be. I honestly did not think that the blue crab ravioli was anything special. In fact I could have skipped that dish and had been fine and would've had more room to finish the shrimp in the boulliabase. Desserts were outstanding. Chocolate budin (pudding) was delicious. Rice pudding was also quite nice with the fresh strawberries. The place itself was nice. Dark lighting. Maybe that was intentional to not overpower the ham... Golden tile fish was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had perfectly cooked and the flavors balanced so well. Wife's bavette steak was excellent with the peppers. Potato purée was not worth the price at all. $16 for some pretty good mashed potato's, I don't care how good a potato is or who you are, that's just insane to me. Last complaint was there was a film of dust lining the wall we were sat next to. So all in all, some really good dishes. I would love to come back, but the price is pretty high to have those imperfections.

My friend and I sat at our table for about 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. I finally flagged down a waitress, who apologized and explained they were short staffed. She took our drink order, and then a different server came over later to take our food order. I ordered the Mediterranean wrap with no onions, but it came out with onions anyway. Our server was nowhere to be found, so I started picking around them and eating the wrap. A few minutes later, she came back with the corrected wrap, but by then I'd already started eating the first one. The flavors of the wrap were actually good, but the texture of the chicken was awful. It was so off putting that it honestly made me nauseous. I only managed a few bites before I was done, and no one ever asked if everything was okay or why I had barely touched my meal. That said, the restaurant itself is beautiful. The atmosphere is what really stands out. It feels like you're dining inside a church, and I believe it actually is a restored church. Between the stained glass, the artwork, and the writing on the walls, it's a really unique and impressive space. I'd probably come back for drinks because the bar looked like it had a great vibe, and the bartender seemed to be providing excellent service. Next time, I'd definitely sit at the bar, but I don't think I'd order the food again.

It's modern, fresh and the staff are nice. I give the entire place 4 stars because their food is good, I did try something I never had before that I would give a 3 star rating though. I decided to get the blueberry glazed chicken wings. The staff said that they were amazing and that the blueberry sauce was like a bbq sauce with a hint of blueberry. I thought why not. I love a good chicken wing. The chicken was cooked well, it was moist in the center but it was like the chicken was swimming in blueberry puree. There was little bbq sauce flavor and tasted like straight blueberries, what was more disappointing was the sauce was so drenched on it that the crisp of the wing was gone, it was soggy. No one likes a soggy chicken wing. If I ever got these again which I probably wouldn't, I would ask for the sauce on the side or light sauce. This place is worth going to if you're in the area, the food is good and staff are nice, but I would stay away from the wings in my opinion.

I was also touched that the culinary team was kind enough to sign a birthday card for me. Our table also received complimentary cacio e pepe popcorn to snack on--yum! For appetizers, we got the tuna tar tar (Crudo di Tonno), the strawberry caprese salad, and some shrimp--all so delicious, that they FLEW off the plate! Upon entering, the restaurant was VERY dimly lit with a tavern-like aesthetic. We started with drinks: a hugo spritz and a campari spritz. Both were good! Unfortunately, things kind of went downhill a bit after that--not because of the food, but mainly for the service. Our waitress seemed annoyed with our party from the get-go. To be fair, some of our friends did arrive about 25 minutes later than expected (from another Spoleto event), but we were very up front about their delay upon arriving to the restaurant. Beyond that, our waitress just never smiled and always gave us looks that just made us feel like a burden. The menu is also poorly organized. Appetizers are not separated from mains--which is annoying when you're deciding what you want (thinking it's a main when it's not). For appetizers, we ultimately ordered the lowland biscuit, the celery salad, and the yellowfun tuna + snapper crudo. All were very tasty and well made! The celery salad is so refreshing! But that biscuit is absolutely delicious! We loved all of them! For my main, I split a tavern burger with my sister. Also very good and very cheesy! Our friends ordered drinks and the butterscotch desert. We all enjoyed the food, just wish the menu was better delineated and the service was better. For my campari spritz, and splitting the appetizers/main, I paid $91.60 with tax and tip. Given that Charleston has so many amazing restaurants, I'm not sure my first choice would be to return here purely due to the aforementioned. I'm giving them 4/5 stars purely for the food.
