Sorelle has a casual atmosphere and offers a wide variety of Italian dishes. When you walk in, the restaurant presents the dishes fully plated so you can see each item before you order. This is a nice touch and makes it easier to understand what each dish entails. They also have a decent amount of outdoor seating, making it a good spot to visit on warmer days. Everything I ate was delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly and had a nice light sauce. Moreover, the pork chop and chicken vesuvio were tender and packed with flavor. The portions were generous and everything seemed to be well worth the price. They also had a large selection of fresh pastries, pizza, panini, and coffee that I hope to try as well. Concept is like corner bakery or Panera bread, but Italian style! You order and then seat where you want to. The staff will bring out your order. I went on a weekend in the afternoon. Place gets packed/busy very quickly. Getting through the line took maybe 5min wait. I liked how they have separated lines for savory and cafe/to go orders. It was great to have a visual too of what you're ordering. Literally the food displayed exactly how it is in the front! I felt for how busy it was, our food arrived I feel within a 10-15min span. Not bad! Ordered the strawberry panna cotta and cappuccino. The purée was a little too sweet for me but the panna cotta itself was delicious. The cap was perfect and I didn't need to add sugar. The campofelice salad was very filling and flavorful. I was glad the chicken was under the arugula, so it wouldn't get soggy. The arancini Sicilian was delicious. Just wished it had more filling. Came here with family on a weekday evening for dinner and there were plenty of open tables. We ordered at the counter and seated ourselves at a table of our choice. The food was brought out to us pretty quickly. Water and utensils were self-service. We shared the pear and arugula salad (gorgonzola, candied walnuts, onion, lemon honey vinaigrette). This was my favorite part of the entire meal. The ingredients were fresh and the salad was lightly dressed (I dislike overly dressed salads). We also shared one of each arancini and they were the biggest arancini I've ever had. However, the rice on the inside was pretty mushy. My favorite of the three was the funghi risotto arancini. Ragu arancini: saffon rice with bolognese sauce Prosciutto cotto arancini: besciamel sauce, prosciutto cotto ham, fior di latte mozarella Funghi risotto arancini: truffle mushroom risotto infused with Italian black truffles I shared the linguini (garden cherry tomato sauce, fresh basil, garlic, Sicilian olive oil, and parmigiano) with my child. The portion size of the pasta was just enough for the both of us. The pasta was decent but was not memorable. Overall, the menu is big and it was hard deciding what to order. Beautiful interior - feels like a piece of Italy in Glenview. Also live music - classical piano & opera style. Food - they have an array of sandwiches, pastas, meat/fish dishes, and pastries/desserts. At the counter, you can see what every dish looks like, as well as a nameplate with their description. Service was quick, and staff were efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The bread pudding comes with 3 thick slices, and is a bit dense. The strawberry panna cotta was smooth and creamy. The strawberry syrup was a little tart, and balanced the sweet pudding-like panna cotta underneath. I got the Mediterranean fish, and my husband got the panko-crusted chicken sandwich, which comes with truffle fries. We also got some regular fries for the kids, and the truffle fries were definitely better. They also had some garlic and herbs on them too. The Mediterranean fish was so tender, it fell apart at the touch of the fork. The chicken in the sandwich was white meat, but perfectly moist. The flavors are more on the subtle side, but I wouldn't call them bland. They seemed balanced in flavor to me. Not too greasy or salty or anything. 04/04/26 - After my older sister & I finished eating @ Johnnies Beef in Arlington Heights & our pastry & it's like every cell has to be labeled separate coffee @ Tous Les Jour my younger sister called and mentioned that she was going to have dinner at Sorelle Italian Market in The Glen. She also mentioned they had live music so we decided mosey over & join them. Unfortunately we had just finished eating but we went to meet our sister & see what type of music they had. When my older sister & I arrived we met my other sister & her friend. We were treated to an excellent performance by Benjamin De Los Monteros. Benjamin has a great voice & sang a variety of songs from Phantom of the Opera, Andrea Bocelli, Frank Sinatra & even his own song that he composed & sang to his wife who was also in the audience. He asked him how often her performed at Sorelle. He said twice a month so we were fortunate that we were able to attend this session. I was totally attracted by the beautiful and romantic photos of Sorelle in the Glen on Yelp.  It had been on my list to try their pastries and perhaps a nice cup of coffee in the storybook setting.  My husband and I finally came on a Sunday around 6:20 pm, it was for dinner instead.  The restaurant was indeed elegantly and tastefully decorated with hanging flowers and chandeliers, despite it being a casual place.  We first lined up at the cashier to place the orders and pay for them.  The young woman behind the counter was polite.  I wanted to order the Shrimp Scampi but had read reviews about it being very spicy, so I asked if they could make it milder.  I was pleasantly surprised that they could make it totally mild!  I also ordered a peach iced tea; she just gave me a plastic bottle of it.  Husband ordered the Mediterranean White Fish with a glass of white wine, and we ordered a huge Funghi Risotto Arancini to share.  This first bill (without desserts, we ordered gelatos later) with tips came up to $70, which was reasonable.  The restaurant was still quite busy at that time.  We found a booth at the far end of the room, and put the identifying Italian name label on our table.  Husband's white wine came in a glass, the 2 dishes were delivered by a friendly server shortly after, only took about 10 minutes total.  However, when I asked for utensils and a glass for my drink, she politely indicated a self-serve station in the middle of the restaurant.  We had not noticed this station and did not know about the rules. This was kind of an inconvenience that you have to get up to get your utensils after your hot food have arrived.  I thought it would be appropriate for the server to just bring the silverware along with the dishes, especially they suggested a 18%, 20% or 22% tip, and we paid 22%. Oh well, my husband got up to get those. The food was good and flavorful.  Husband liked his white fish, and my shrimp scampi was fresh and tasted just like my home-cooked ones.  I do use marinara sauce imported from Italy.  I preferred smaller arancini that has a better-balanced ratio of crispy skin to stuffing.  Nonetheless, it was still good and filling. Then, our daughter who had eaten dinner from somewhere else came to join us for gelato as I suggested, which turned out to be a disappointment.  Firstly, they sold out the gelatos that we would want, so I settled with Pear and Daughter got Carmel.  We had gelatos in our 2 trips to Italy, and lots of gelatos in the US, but the gelatos at Sorelle was nothing like what we are familiar with, they are not creamy nor smooth.  These took on the texture of coarse sand and resembled sorbet at best.  I felt like I was eating a bosc pear that lacked flavor.  We could not finish the "gelatos" which was shocking and a shame. While many people seem to like the idea of Sorelle having all their dishes in their menu cooked and displayed so patrons know exactly what they are ordering, I do have some reservations about it.  I asked the friendly man behind the counter (I assumed he's the manager) a few questions, he was very nice and gave me answers.  He said that they cook the dishes twice a week (they open 5 days a week), display them for 2 or 3 days, and then throw them away (we understand that cooked food in room temperature should not be consumed after 2 hours because of bacteria).  He said the owner wanted to imitate Italian markets with the look and feel.  I have concerns about wasting so much food though.  It's simple math, there are 52 weeks in a year, so, each year they throw away 104 salmon, 104 shrimp scampi, 104 chicken Milanese sandwiches with truffle fries... you get the idea, they had about 30 dishes in display. And they have a sister restaurant in Long Grove that has the same practice.  I suggested a good and realistic picture for each food, but he said it's not good enough for the owner.  It made me ponder as there are people starving in this world, and even in Illinois, there are people who cannot afford these kind of Italian food.  Wasting so much food doesn't feel right, and it is not economical for the business either.  My humble suggestions are just displaying different kind of bread, and different types of uncooked noodles, and replace real cooked dishes with beautiful photographs.  What do you think?  After all, in Italian Markets, the cooked food is for sale as well. read more

Such a cute Italian market in the suburbs. The space is adorable and very inviting, and there are a lot of menu options to choose from. I have been here twice and have mixed feelings overall. The rigatoni vodka and the pear and arugula salad were solid, and the Italian Coke was really good. The eggplant panino had good flavor but was served cold, which was a little confusing. The spaghetti in creamy tomato sauce and the garlic parm fries were a miss for me. They are currently only open for breakfast and lunch, but dinner is coming soon. I would definitely come back to try breakfast and see how the dinner menu turns out, as the space alone makes it worth checking out. read more

I went out to dinner at Sorelles Italian Market with my fiance and his parents tonight and we had an absolutely fantastic night. We were greeted by the general manager, Michael Javier, who was welcoming, informative, and friendly from the moment we walked in the door. They have a gorgeous restaurant and bright ambiance that feels as if you're truly in Italy. Their food selection is vast and everything we tried was delicious. (Caprese salad, fusilli bolognese, nonnas lasagna, shrimp scampi). The staff were attentive and friendly, and general manager Michael Javier took special care of us, as our dinner was a way to celebrate my birthday. He made sure our food and dining experience was exceptional. I will absolutely be coming back to Sorelles Italian market for dinner in the future and/or for takeout and you should too!! read more

I love the décor of this place. I'm excited that they've finally extended their hours and started offering dinner service as of a couple of weeks ago. I've been here a few times and really enjoy the ambience. The food has been good, though there's definitely room for improvement and a lot of potential. During our visit today, the food came out lukewarm especially the sandwich and fries which was a bit disappointing, though we ate it anyway. Maybe it's just a one off for today. The pasta was good, and done el dente, was enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'll be back again, hopefully the food will be hotter and fresher. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to pick up lunch. Staff were so friendly, was greeted and explained the setup. I believe there's table service, but there's also a line to place orders for food to go. Instead of a typical menu they had all their pizzas, arancini and other appetizers, pastas, salads, and panini on display which was so helpful to see. Placed my order and within a few minutes it was ready to go! They had water and utensil station also while you're waiting. On recommendation of the staff I got the spicy rigatoni, truffle arancini, and a cannoli (half pistachio half chocolate) which seems to be freshly filled. Food was delicious, reasonably priced, and came out without much of a wait. The staff was so welcoming and helpful, you really couldn't ask for a better experience. They were setting up for live music while I was waiting which I'm sure is a nice addition to the meal too! This location of Sorelle opened the week before Thanksgiving, and I was surprised their hours are a bit limited right now, with no dinner service yet. It's 8am-5pm Wednesday through Sunday, so plan accordingly! A solid 4 stars for the Nutella croissant! Think flaky, buttery layers of pastry filled generously with that delicious chocolate hazelnut spread. Mmm mmm mmmm. Worth every bit of that $6. In fact, we stopped in twice in a week and had that goodie each time. The pistachio croissant is also one I highly recommend! The hot chocolate is $3-4 depending on the size, and you can request a kid temp (not as scalding hot). Set up is fast casual where you line up, order, and then get a number to take to your table. I'm not sure if there is table service or not. I would like to come back for lunch sometime to try a pasta dish. Pizza, sandwiches, and Italian appetizers are also available, and the wall has what appears to be an extensive wine selection. Very photo worthy decor with chandeliers and color plant hangings. The environment is nice (a touch of Europe) and the food is quite good. I just find the ordering system very odd. It's a typical "brought to the table via a sign" system, but there is no menu, just actual dishes on display (which also seems like a waste of food) . Because the various dishes are all lined up on your way to the cashier, there's no way to double back to compare OR make a decision until the last minute. It's sute by inefficient and awkward. Such a cute and pretty Italian spot. The inside feels cozy and thoughtfully designed, the kind of place where you actually want to sit and stay awhile. I really liked that they display the actual dishes next to the cashier, so you can see exactly what you're getting before you order. No surprises -- what you see is what comes to your table. I ordered the shrimp scampi, and it was much spicier than I expected. If you love heat, you'll probably enjoy it. I personally prefer it more mild, so I couldn't finish it, but the flavor itself was good and the shrimp were cooked well. The croissant was very soft and fresh -- I even saw the worker filling it with Nutella on the spot. It tasted freshly made and indulgent, though slightly sweeter than I prefer. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and you order and then find a table and they bring the food to you. After finding your seat, you then head to the counter to place your order for both your meal as well as your dessert, but not all items will come out at the same time.What we liked about this restaurant is that their dishes are prepared and displayed on the counter, so you know exactly what you are getting. Kids dishes are not displayed however they do have options for kids. We chose the spaghetti which is photographed below. We also try the meatball sub sandwich that comes with truffle fries, The chicken masala dish with mashed potatoes, the shrimp scampi, as well as the mushroom ball which we highly recommend. We had no complaints about any of the dishes. They all had great flavor. We were too stuffed to try any dessert, but they too look delicious. My only complaint is the beverage selection as they do not have a big election for kids. staff were friendly in the ambience was slightly on the louder side. Amazing! There are so many great things about this location. First, very easy to get to. If you are familiar with The Glen, you will have no problem finding it. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and designed. Takes me back to my Italy visits. You place your order at the counter and you are handed a sign showing different Italian cities. Adorable! The staff will bring your order to you. I ordered a cappuccino and an apple turnover. Both items were delicious. There was a rather large group of us that went and the staff was gracious and assisted in moving tables and chairs to accommodate us. My experience was over the moon. We have been excited for this location to open for several months now. It's very cute inside and everyone is very nice. The service could definitely be a bit faster but I think they're still working out the kinks. The food was all very good and tasted fresh. The minestrone soup was nice and came with two breadsticks. The meatball sandwich was great and the bread was the perfect texture. The desserts were by far the best. The panna cotta was rich and luxurious feeling. We'd heard good things about Sorelle so decided to try it out. We were a group of 6 on a Saturday and were worried about seating, so arrived at 5:30pm. Had no trouble finding a seat. The ambiance was a super cute Italian vibe, and I practically forgot I was in the middle of Glenview. There was live music that night too. Food was good - in our group people ordered pasta, meatballs, arancini, salad, fries, garlic bread. There ended up being an issue with the ordering system, so we waited a long time for part of our order. When this came to the attention of Michael, a manager, he was very apologetic and made sure the food came out quickly. He checked on us multiple times and later went the extra step of having us try a few desserts which were delicious. The gesture made the whole experience so special and is something we'll all remember. A few weeks later, I needed to get some baked birthday treats, so picked them up from Sorelle since I already knew they were great! read more

This place feels homey and cozy as soon as you walk in. There are tons of choices for breakfast and lunch to enjoy. The staff are very friendly as well. It has iconic tastes of Italy all under one roof. I came with my family for lunch, and I loved the cappuccino with croissants to start as well as the gelato for dessert. I actually stopped by this place a few days ago to order their Bread Pudding! My wife loves bread pudding! And I also ordered their Chicken Parmigiano Panino with Truffle Fries for our son Alex, and he absolutely loved it! I have to come back and try it for myself. As well as their home made Gelatos! I wish I had know they had focaccia bread as a side order I hope they served it with a bit whipped butter or olive oil and I would have liked if they had side salads. They could have them at one price for just a side salad and a discounted price with an entree purchase . I did not want to order an entree with a big salad I just wanted a complete meal without overeating. A written menu would also have helped I would have liked to see a bread basket for example for $2 or $3 per person. The live music was also a nice touch but the emphasis has to be on the food in a restaurant. For example if the customer does not see you have bread available it's like you don't have it. My favorite restaurants have the best bread baskets, Cheesecake Factory and Wildfire. I am a big fan but their ordering process can be a total DISASTER. I wish they had a kiosk ordering option for eating in. This may become my favorite online order/take out restaurant but without knowing if the line to drool over the food, ask questions of the one cashier and place orders for groups of four will be one minute or 15 minutes long makes stopping in a tougher decision than it should be. Having said this I was very happy on a busy night stopping for ice cream. As soon as I stepped to the ice cream counter, one of the workers stopped making dinners to give me a cone.
