We were happy to be seated at a cozy but comfy booth in the middle of the dining room at 10:55 am. As soon as we got in, we already enjoyed the aroma of good coffee, butter, and delicious food! The vibe was warm, festive, and happy. As always, we were greeted by friendly staff. Maria, our server, was very friendly. She and her whole team were very efficient without rushing us. We were amazed that she constantly had a nice smile, and was attentive and pleasant the whole time, even though the restaurant was packed with families. We got one order of French Toast (my favorite), two orders of Strawberry crepes, one order of Farm-Style Sausages, and an order of Canadian Bacon. All three of us got coffee, that's always so good. It's not nearly as good anymore for that reason, and not worth ordering. The only Glenview restaurants I know of that still use fresh turkey in their sandwiches are Hackney's and Meier's Tavern. Also, their Guinness pours can be questionable depending on who's pouring. Nowadays, when I go to Grandpa's, I only ever order the Chicken Kabobs. They are absolutely delicious! If you like medium spice, I advise you to ask for them cajun-style. They are best this way!
