The food was creative and, more importantly, delicious. Service was seamless and fast. We sat inside, and my only concern was the level of the music. Between the hard acoustics of the space, the noise level generated by a full, conversation-filled cafe, my dining companion and I almost had to shout over a very small table to hear each other. If you are looking to try the food on the menu and get quick good service, wait until the social media hype dies down. I have been to this place 4 times and have only had the pleasure of dining here twice and have never had the opportunity to enjoy their entire menu. The restaurant is a nice mid-century modern building with nice charm and lots of light. The entire patio is outdoor, but covered which should be nice for the summer. The food I've had so far has been tasty, but not out of this world. I had the breakfast sandwich with avocado. It is Gordon Ramsay style scrambled eggs, slices of avocado, on Texas Toast. Once again it is very good, but a recipe that is easily available on YouTube. The potatoes are good and the yogurt parfait is good. The food in general is good, nearby there are better breakfast options. My biggest pet peeve has been kitchen management. There have been items unavailable as early as 8:00am. I have received excuses such as the purveyor was out of the item, the kitchen didn't have time to prepare it, and there were more customers than they expected. I have worked in restaurant management for some of the most successful restaurants. Items being unavailable is a Cardinal Sin. If your primary purveyor is unable to provide the item then you reach out to other purveyors or go to Costco. It might be difficult on your margins, but a lost customer due to them wondering will this place have the item they want is a bigger loss than a few cents of profit on an ingredient. As far as them not expecting the amount of customers they have gotten, they are promoting heavily on social media. Why did they pay all of that money for advertising if they didn't expect people to show up. Unless you want to spend over an hour of your day to not get the items you want, I recommend coming back in a month or 2 when the social media buzz turns someplace else and this place hopefully has things together. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at Sophia's. Aesthetics were very cute. It had a simple yet elegant feel to it. The staff were really friendly and attentive. I will say, the line was pretty long. Excellent breakfast spot! We went on a Friday am and got the last of the limited parking spots. Still had open seating when we arrived and not too busy ( waited about 10 min in line ). Ordered at the counter , given a number and found seats at long bar by the windows overlooking patio. Drinks delivered quickly with food not much later. Daughter had the crust less quiche which was delicious ( snuck a bite ). I ordered the famous French toast and a side of fresh fruit. Portions were very large and we easily could have split a meal between us. Beautiful interior and the patio was remarkably cool with fans, misters and umbrellas. The food took a long time to come out and the salad was missing hard boiled eggs--they said they needed to make them and come back. They were taking a long time, so we ended up leaving early. Adorable new brunch spot in the valley. I love the outdoor open air concept. You order in line and then you find a table to sit down and they bring you your food. I went to this establishment yesterday morning a friend of mine and I have wanted to try for weeks but it was always super busy. We got a table and it's counter service I had to ask because we got there and no one really said hi or welcomed us. I ordered our food and the service wasn't rude but it wasn't friendly or inviting either. I went back to get water after the meal and the manager was extremely kind but the rest of the staff just seemed like they didn't want to be there. I told her I don't think they have anything to worry about, and feel like this place is not just going to be a trend. She really was the sweetest lady. We later found a larger table and moved over. As for the food, the schnitzel and thick French toast were amazing. Baked eggs was great. Coffee drinks were great. We already decided we would come back to try more items, then Flore came up and handed us a small gift card for our troubles. I honestly didn't expect it. I had planned to order the viral egg sandwich on milk bread but the honey dill chicken sando looked delish so I ended up ordering that w/ a pecan maple roll, iced vanilla latte and a baguette to take home. My sando was just okay. It did not taste honey nor dill. The chicken did have a good crunch and was cooked perfectly but the sandwich was super bland. It did come with waffle fries, that were delicious. Definitely order a pastry. We had several different ones at the table and all delish. The baguette was also amazing. If they have them by the register buy one. I thought the value here was good. I only spent $40 w/ tip for all I ordered. The restaurant is a very open concept.
