Delicious donuts and lots of options here at Sophe's. I love the blueberry fritter and the blueberry cake donuts but all their donuts are delicious. They aren't greasy or stale. This is a standard family/mom and pop donut shop. Not the frills just solid donuts and coffee/drinks. They do have some other options for food like breakfast sandwiches and croissants. Staff are friendly and greeted me. Helped me pick out some donuts after I picked my usual favorites. read more

I had a lovely experience at Sophe's Donuts (Covina). I ordered the Sugar Donut ($1.95). To my astonishment, it's absurdly delicious. Its bread almost melts away as I bit down. The sugar is crackly & overflowing. It's a fresh, flavorful donut. I didn't expect to taste one of the best donuts that I've ever had in such a hidden, poor visibility spot... (Important: Bring Cash. There's an about 4% added fee for card payments.) I arrived at Sophe's Donuts (Covina) on a weekday (around 6:06AM). Parking is surprisingly bigger than expected. The lot looked slightly extended to fit more customer cars; I easily found parking. This business is across the street from Ray's Tepeyac Restaurant. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Staff greeted me with a smile, and Staff politely answered all my questions. Staff is hardworking and respectful. There was a small line of customers, and I was helped very quickly & attentively. On ambiance, Sophe's Donuts (Covina) looks well-cared and clean. There's no customer restroom, but I appreciated the big container of hand sanitized. There's a couple of tables, and I appreciated the light music and playing television. It's fairly clean, but some tables are understandably a little sticky. The interior was also a bit warm, but it worked since the morning air was a bit chilly. Overall, I am very happy to have visited Sophe's Donuts (Covina). As a local Covina resident, I never expected such a wonderful business to be hidden in plain sight. 4.9 out of 5 read more

Found this place by accident. I took my car to get serviced across the street and was looking for coffee since I have to wait few hours. I said sure why not, got myself coffee and ended up getting the croissant with egg, cheese, and sausage. It was actually amazing. The lady working there was nice. I was in the area and I decided to stop by before a job interview and WOW! I was greeted by the owner, Vanessa. She was so welcoming and friendly. The shop was clean. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese croissant, plain cake donut, & coffee. The coffee was great and the croissant was delicious! Sophe's Donuts is located in a little plaza on a busy street. There are tables and a counter that are available for customers. It's a pretty no-nonsense spot for a quick pick up for breakfast. The pastries are all freshly made daily, my favorite being their jelly donuts because they fill it up according to your specifications. One of my favorite donut shops in Covina. It's always a really great experience. The donuts and breakfast sandwiches are so good. I think they have one of the best apple fritters in the area (crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, not too sweet and love the chunks of apples in it). They're also well known for their breakfast sandwiches which are always fresh and made to order. The woman behind the counter is always so nice and extremely friendly. This place definitely has its regulars because she already knows what their order is as soon as they come in. Overall, this place is great. We had the pleasure of a quick stop in this little shop on our trip to California last week. We took yelps suggestion and head over on a Monday morning. We were greeted warmly by a woman and were allowed to look around. There was quite the selection of delicious looking donuts, pastries and baked goods. We selected a dozen donuts and were given an extra for free! I tried a buttermilk chocolate right out of the box and was instantly in heaven! Highly Recommended! I showed up early today and I meet Vanessa she made me a fresh breakfast sandwich on the spot when I asked for a whole one. I got sausage & egg croissant! We visited Sophe's on 2/6/24 @10am My boyfriend was going to take Donuts to work for his employees. He wanted to take them some from a Mom and Pops place. I immediately told him to go to Sophe's . We went around 10am, so we know the picking was slim. Since they always sell out early. But we were able to get 2 dozen for his office and 2 extra for my self and my daughter for later. Everything was clean and there is plenty of places to sit. We come here now and again. The donuts are made the same which is nice because they taste the same. Their donuts are fresh and definitely not oily like other places. For 2 dozen and the 2 extra donuts it was $35. We will be coming back like always. read more

Second time here, and I LOVE IT HERE! Wow!! This Donut shop is so Freshly made and Baked by their very own Vanessa. Service is also amazing, with beautiful smiles and laughter. The softness of their donuts, their croissants and bagels sandwiches are just so delicious . I also tried their Mocha Frappe 10/10 as well as everything here! The best blueberry fritter and donuts ever. Always fresh tasting. No rancid oil or bitter after taste. Breakfast croissandwich (I made that up tho) made fresh to order. Sausage, ham, egg and cheese is the best- Croissant is light, flaky and oh so buttery. If you're just into no-frills donuts, the sugar raised or glazed are to die for. Sometimes I am thankful this shop is located a few cities away, otherwise I'd be gaining back the 20 lbs I've lost and probably add some more. Oh, I almost forgot. The chocolate chip donuts?! As the worker was making it, I noticed they used a matcha whisk. It was fresh, not from a squeeze bottle or premade, which made me happy. I feel that when matcha is made fresh it tastes better and more care goes into the drink and the craft. I will say the cold foams were in a squeeze bottle and premade. The worker said they're made fresh daily, which does add some comfort, but I still prefer them made to order. Anyway, I received my drink and gave it a taste. The matcha itself was very good--nicely blended and refreshing. I could taste the blueberry nicely. I believe the oat milk enhances the flavor and gives it more depth. Next time I'll try some of their food. This review is solely for the blueberry matcha.

The space was set up with plenty of outlets along the walls for those who come to study and work. I appreciate the 7 Leaves chain for having a simple menu but executing it well consistently with quality ingredients. On this visit I had the Iced Mung Bean Milk Tea because it was later in the afternoon and I didn't want to ruin my sleep with caffeine. My all time favorite drink here is their Iced House Coffee, with 3 shots of espresso. When I want something refreshing I get their Iced Sea Cream Jasmine Tea. And my family's favorite is their Iced Taro Milk Tea. Love their product. Love that this location has a drive thru. Love the study-work ambiance they set up their seating area to be. I was already telling my boyfriend how I want to take my niece back here the next time we have a café session.

They also have their own parking lot, so parking has never been an issue for me. I think their drinks are solid. They may not be as amazing as some other places (like Da Vien) but they're still good and more affordable. My family loves the mung bean drink here. Today I ordered the jasmine sea salt cream--solid drink. If they had one of the special lids that allow you to taste the cream while sipping the tea, it would probably be a lot better but oh well. Instead they have the typical boba film covers.

I wrote this review 3 years ago. Most business decline after time but this shop has improved. Keep up the good work. I visit this place everyday for my cup of coffee. The donuts look at me every morning like what about ME your favorite delicious evil Apple Fritter. I stay strong, for those special occasion when I give in and have a wonderful warm yummy fritter. But I digress if you love a good cup of coffee at a price that will not break the bank or won't eat up your stomach because it is so strong, then this is the perfect coffee shop for you. Sophe's Donut use to be Mon's Old Fashion Donuts well know in Covina as (Mama's). The new owners are a group of friendly Siblings. One of the brothers took over the shop early on and gave it a much needed face-lift. In the last six months the Sisters have taken on the daily responsibilities of the business. It has taken on a warm and friendly welcome. They make it a point to know how you order and will start getting your order ready if they see your car pull up ion the paring lot.
