Discovered this place while getting Chinese take out next door. You can definitely feel British vibes as soon as you walk in. It's a pretty small cafe with only a couple of tables and I think most people do take out. The nice lady working there told us everything is par baked so we can take them home and bake them for 30 minutes @ 350 degrees or she can get them ready in 2 minutes using her commercial pizza oven. We opted to eat there and take the cherry pie to go. The food was ready pretty fast but everything was lukewarm in the middle so probably could have used another minute. We tried the following: Sausage roll: puff pastry wrapped around a sausage. It was okay. Beef and onion pie in an aluminum foil cup: ground beef and onion was flavored well and tasty and I liked the flaky puff pastry. Chicken pot pie in an aluminum foil cup: tasty and flaky. Chicken pot pie pasty: disappointing as it was very dry and doughy. There was just so much dough in comparison to the filling. The pies in the aluminum foil cups were so much better. Cherry pie: baked it at home and really liked the perfect amount of sweetness and wasn't doughy like the pasty. Their handheld credit card reader would not work. Thankfully we had some cash on us to take care of the bill. They're open Tuesday- Saturday from 8am-4pm, and closed on Sunday and Monday.

Best pasties in Arizona! Julie was so kind and helpful, giving us history lessons along the way. Jane was very friendly and working hard making the pasty twist beautiful. The food is made fresh, and they offer frozen pasties and fruit pies to take away for later. 11/10 experience and will absolutely be coming back again!

Omg as a Brit here in Arizona this is a total blast from home! Beard Meats food did their food challenge at the other location but totally worth the visit to either location. 10/10 would return and get more food from home freshly prepared here in USA.

If you have a moment, I'd encourage you to stop by Sonsons Pasty Company in Gilbert or Mesa. I placed an online order today and stopped by to pick up. Simple storefront but very nice staff. It's a great sign when the lady tells you one moment she has to wash her hands AND she was already wearing gloves. They appreciated my crazy and small talk. Was able to pick up my order without issue. When I went to tip another $1 the lady reminded me I already tipped on my online order, again the small stuff. Great integrity to mention that. The extra $1 was intentional, great service! You can get these frozen, pre baked or hot too! Why not travel with a pasty. :) Support local & shop small business when possible.

The pasty's here are most excellent! Decent price, not as massive and overly priced as the ones from the other pasty place in the valley. Plenty of variety, and even some desert and breakfast options as well.

Cooked for an hour by their directions Perfect!

This one employee, which I don't know her name but she was awesome! She had a wonderful personality and was nice and inviting. We ordered two corn dogs, a chili dog, kraut dog, and fries. The corn dogs were great, had no problems with them. However, the buns for the kraut and chili dog were not soft at all. They tasted a little stale.. the fries were decent, and besides the buns, both the hot dogs were great, plus I got the all beef. It would have been much better if the bun was fresh. This location was located in between CVS and Black Rock Coffee, if you have trouble finding it.

I mustard you a question: Do you like hot dogs? I do! Because they're so barbe-cute!…read more I adore the DT Mesa Micky's location and had high hopes that this location will be exactly the same. Somehow, it's not the same at all. $12 al pastor burrito, $12 carne asada fries, and $5 Sonoran dogs. A price tag I'm willing to pay if the food was as good as DT Mesa but it's not. It's not to say that the food was bad but I don't see myself popping in here when I can go to the cozy DT Mesa spot. This is a spacious location and I'll give them that. The salsa bar is well stocked and you definitely won't bee disappointed. Give them a try!

It's on little days like these where showing gratitude to our local businesses is needed. For my #ThankYouThursday, I wanted to show some Yelp-love to Micky's Hot Dog. I first had Micky's at their Downtown Mesa location. While I do believe that location is still much better, this place isn't bad. This second location is in a more spacious spot and there's more seating. The Sonoran hot dog tastes different but it wasn't bad for the price. I would pass on the $12 carne asada fries though. The salsa bar has some standard offerings. I'm glad they were able to open s second location. I wish them much success.

From the moment we walked in, the service, leadership, food, and value were all 10/10. First off, shoutout to Robbie, the restaurant manager - his leadership clearly shows through the entire team. The atmosphere was welcoming, organized, and upbeat, which says a lot about how well he runs this location. Huge praise to the amazing staff he manages, especially Gustavo and Alondra. Gustavo deserves special recognition for his patience and kindness while helping our family of four - including three very indecisive kids. He never rushed us, stayed friendly the entire time, and made the ordering experience smooth and stress-free. He also makes the best SHAKES Alondra was equally impressive with her professionalism and attention to detail, double-checking every order to make sure we received all of our items correctly - which we absolutely did Thanks to her, she also very kind with big girl get after it energy!!!! ‍‼ Now let's talk VALUE!!!! We were able to feed a family of four for UNDER $55, and three out of the four meals were adult combos. That is EXTREMELY affordable, especially for the quality and portion sizes you get. On top of that, they run an amazing promotion: Kids Eat Free every Wednesday, which is a total game changer for families. THE FOOD itself!!!! Well The chicken tenders were crispy, flaky, buttery, and perfectly cooked - NOT dry at all‼ Honestly, some of the best chicken in Arizona. Every bite was amazing. My entire family finished their meals in under 20 minutes because it was that good and we were all fully satisfied.‍ We SMASHEDDDDDD And We loved every second of it. If you're looking for incredible food, friendly service, strong leadership, family-friendly pricing, and a place that deserves way more hype - Big Chicken Gilbert is it. Do yourself a favor and go ASAP. This place should absolutely be viral‼

I feel in love with the pineapple cream soda, very refreshing, makes for the perfect fizzy drink. We also tried the watermelon lemonade mixed with sweet tea. Move over Arnold Palmer, this tea was perfect. Just the right amount of sweet on a hot summers day. Parking was a breeze, and since there were three of us (including one never-full teenager ), we went for the Mexi-Q Platter and added an extra birria taco so everyone could try one. It absolutely lived up to the hype! The surprise standout? The brisket tostada--sooooo flavorful and satisfying on every level! We also loved the sausage link, Mexi-Q twinkies (aka smoked jalapeños stuffed with brisket and cream cheese, then wrapped in bacon ), and honestly, everything we tried was a hit. For sides, we ordered Grandma's Calabacitas (a yummy squash veggie mix), roasted cream elote, and Julio's mac n' cheese (which I skipped, but the guys were big fans). We wrapped up this phenomenal meal with their GF banana pudding (they offer both GF and regular options), and it was seriously scrumptious--such a treat to have a gluten-free dessert that feels just as special! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and attentive. They double-checked that everything we ordered (minus the mac n' cheese) was gluten-free, which is always such a relief. It means so much when a place truly understands gluten and can clearly guide you on what's safe. We sat outside and soaked up the beautiful weather--it was the perfect setting for such a fun and tasty meal! An easily awarded and well deserved

I liked that sauce so much that I'd consider going back just to try it on some of their other bbq. I didn't like the brisket birria taco as much because it was way too salty for me. I love that they had the misters running to keep the outdoor seating cool. The staff was also very nice.
