12/13/25: we have been to Cornish Pasty so many times, I can't believe I never reviewed it until now. Let me right that wrong. It's wonderful! Over the years & after multiple visits, there has never been a bad one. The food is always delicious. IMPORTANT NOTE: the pasties are pre-made; you cannot ask for substitutes or to leave this or that item out. Do not worry, however, as I am picky (don't like onions or peppers), but I have never had an issue with finding something to eat here. The house made bread is absolutely aaaah-mazing. Hell, I could eat multiple plates of it alone for my meal. Thick slices of goodness. The drinks are hit or miss, though we have never had an issue with a simple Old Fashioned. :-) It's a bit dark inside, they have a substantial patio on the north side of the building, and the staff has always been friendly. The parking is not bad as it is part of small strip mall, but don't expect to always be able to park immediately close to Cornish (especially during busy times). I love this Cornish Pasty. Today I tried the Royal with Cheese, and just had to update my review to let you know how extremely delicious this particular pasty was!!! It does sound kind of weird with ingredients like hamburger, French fries, onions and mushrooms, but it was incredible!!! I've lived near one of these for years and never been - until now! This Cornish Pasty location is tucked at the end of a strip mall and certainly doesn't give you the expectation of the ambiance -- and size! Its very dark and cozy, a bit shabby chic British pub-style, and has a full bar but also another bar area called "The Beast" tucked in back. Service was very friendly in a comfortable, genuine way. We were checked on frequently but never in a pushy way and never felt rushed. We happened to be there during happy hour and enjoyed a few beers. They have a pretty extensive selection and my friend was happy a rotating tap was a Dunkel. We split the French Dip and the Rosemary steak. Both were good but not my ideal pasty, so I'll have to try more. I felt the Dip needed more salt (which I could have asked for, but didn't) but I loved the red wine gravy it came with. I could eat that on almost anything! The rosemary steak was a tad too rosemary for me and the mustard cream sauce was...well mustard cream. It wasn't bad, but I'm definitely more of a gravy person. This place was cozy and comfortable and I look forward to trying more pasties to find my favorite! read more

Cool place but I do not recommend going for lunch as the prices are steep for lunch and the wait is too long for a working individual. We tried several items and they were all good, fresh and hot out of the oven. We tried the bread and butter appetizer and the slices were huge. Real butter of course and very fresh. I had the meat and cheese pasty, my friends tried the French dip and bangers. Could use some more dipping sauce options. read more

This place never, ever fails to deliver. The services is always friendly, the food is absolutely fantastic (get there before they run out of certain pasty's), super fresh (made every day), extremely filling, excellent happy hour and drink menu and prices. The atmosphere in Tempe is a bit weird, but kitschy, kind of cool, mellow vibe, very dark inside, but that adds to the cool'ness, always good music, prices are reasonable. First time trying Cornish Pasty and was pleasantly surprised! I've gotten a lot of recommendations to try this restaraunt and ended up getting the vegetarian Shephard's Pie. The bread was amazing and perfectly flaky. The "pie" itself was very good. We also split the Sticky Toffee Pudding and that was really good. It comes with ice cream and the flavor itself is great. Maybe slighttttt room for it to be "stickier". They have their own parking lot and indoor seating and a bar with seating. Staff was friendly. My friend and I thought it was funny they had a Labubu pinned to the bar wall. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because it didn't have anything stand out extraordinarily, but I'll definitely come back again when I'm craving British/Irish food! read more

Phenomenal place to be. I ended up trying this location because the other locations were out of stock on most of the menu items. I did an online order for my teams lunch meeting. I ordered 8 pasties to go. I arrived early in case there was traffic and to my surprise the food was ready to go. I was very happy to not have to wait around. In my order I had requested that each pasty be labeled with the appropriate name so I could easily identify them when handing out. When I made it back to the office and began distributing them it was really cool that the cook wrote fun phrases or names that were associated with each person's name. Mine was labeled as Queen Jaquay and that put the biggest smile on my face :) Everyone enjoyed their food, especially our out of town guest. He told my manager to get him the same thing he was ordering which was rhe Guiness Stew. Neither of them had had that one before, but they said it was very good. I tried the Cajun Chicken and was very impressed. So much so I went back the next day with my sister for dinner. We tried the Lamb Vindaloo. I was so happy that the lamb was tender and that the pasty had flavor. Sitting at the bar I was able to meet the cook from the day before, Brian. He is amazing. Very approachable, friendly, and down to earth. Iain the bartender was awesome too. They made my dining experience a great one. To top off the great food and service, we ordered dessert....the Chocolate Bread and Butter. This was excellent. I could taste a hint of the brandy as I was eating it and the vanilla ice cream was Mmm Mmm so good. Thanks to the team there for a great dining experience. I have a deep appreciation and love for Cornish Pasty, and have for ages. The food is just always so spot on and the ambiance inside is phenomenal. (If you've never been, think a dimly-lit restaurant with plush carpet and warm colors everywhere. It's very inviting, and the kind of place you'll want to stay for a while at.) Tonight, my fella and I went out to eat here. This location specifically was his favorite haunt in college, and he kind of blew my mind with his knowledge of their (extensive) menu. (Dude came here weekly in school, and has eaten through their *entire* menu twice lol) My go to when I come to Cornish Pasty is The Oggie (Traditional Pasty). It comes with steak, potato, onion, and rutabaga served with a side of red wine gravy. However tonight, I branched out and got another favorite - The Bangers And Mash (House pork and sage sausage, grilled onion, mashed potato, with a side of red wine gravy). The food was the best thing ever, as always. From the golden, flakey crust of the pasty to the delicious, savory filling, this bangers and mash pasty stole my heart. It was just so good. My fella got their Royal With Cheese (which prompted a whole Pulp Fiction discussion lol) and he was really pleased with his food, too. I can never finish a whole pasty in one sitting, so our (very nice) server grabbed me a to-go box. She even had the forethought to put in a side of the red wine gravy without me asking. The service was way above par. All in all, both of our meals (drinks and tip included) were around $30 each. I know it's terribly expensive to go out to eat nowadays, but trust me - you'll want to splurge at Cornish Pasty. 100/10. read more

One of our good friends showed us this spot and didn't fail us. I was a bit skeptical at first but the flavors were there. The pasty's were excellent! They look small but are dense and a lot. But my favorite dish had to be the leek soup. I should have gotten a bowl instead of the cup. Highly recommend this spot for some good food. I also really enjoyed the decor inside as well. Upon walking in I was a bit confused as there was no hostess or sign to seat yourself. A sign would definitely be helpful since you do seat yourself. I got the shepherds pie signature pasty and it was really good with a nice ratio of filling to pastry! The restaurant has a dark, gothic vibe with lots of chandeliers. read more

Had a great experience here at this location. Brian was our server and he was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and kept the vibe chill. I started with the Spanakopita Cocktail Pasties appetizer and wow... SO good, I really enjoy the flavors of this app. For my main, this time I tried the Lamb Vindaloo. It was packed with rich flavor, nice amount of lamb with each bite and super satisfying, though I was hoping for more of a spicy kick. Still, it hit the spot and left me happy. My co-workers recommended this place, and it definitely did not disappoint! I am definitely glad we came here for an early dinner after work. Atmosphere/Ambiance (5/5) - Felt very rustic. It is a little dark and just feels like a pub. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Staff (5/5) - Friendly and knowledgeable. The waiter was able to help me figure out what I wanted to eat as there are many, many pasties to choose from. Food/Drink - We ordered the following: Cornish Meatballs (5/5) - $13 - Housemade meatballs wrapped in bacon. Nuff said. French Dip (5/5) - $18.50 - This thing came with red wine gravy and a horseradish cream. I wish it was bigger, but this was a great, great choice. We went for lunch on a Monday afternoon so there was plenty of space for us to sit and peruse the menu. The bartender was super attentive and patient with us since we had a baby with us. To my understanding, all the food is prepared at one of the other Cornish Pasty locations and then brought here (which is why there were several menu items that were out of stock). We ended up ordering the Rosemary Beef, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Reuben pastries. My husband and father-in-law raved about theirs and mine was delicious as well. We cannot speak to the drinks since each of us drank waters, but I appreciated the wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Well went on a random Wed night for a friend's Birthday. When we were able to order food all 3 of us couldn't order our first choices bc they were out of what seemed like a majority of their menu. So we ordered our 2nd choices. The food was good, but the Scottsdale location seemed to be better. When we went to order dessert- you guessed it- they were out! Don't let the strip mall location deter you. Inside your met with a moody vibe complete with flocked wallpaper and dimly lit chandeliers. The staff was friendly and the menu was diverse as it can be with everything wrapped in a tasty pasty casing. I had the Guinness stew pasty and it was delicious. Highly recommend! read more

We used to come here all time, I went and ordered the same exact thing 2 weeks ago. The Pasta Salad Half Size With Chicken No Spinach to go. When I ordered 2 weeks the pasta was full to the top of the to go container (without spinach) and this time there's like 10 pasta noodles ... I counted. The fact that I am paying $10.50 for this (just the pasta) then an additional $7.50 for a piece of chicken is outrageous. Honestly this should be called the Spinach Salad with Pasta - add meat.. if it's supposed to be like the first time I ordered it then quality control needs to be done. It's said that the best food in England is Chinese takeout, so I didn't really have high expectations other than other reviewers. After leaving this restaurant, it's definitely my first time having "authentic" British food, and it was...good. The ambiance and decor is very British. There is a bar, and the entire restaurant is blacked out so you feel like you're partly in a British pub. They do have a wide selection of beer and alcohol. Eager to see what the hype of a "pasty" was, I ordered the Ogie and the Greek. They were both unique, but reminded me of bigger empanadas. The taste and presentation is decent, but as someone who prefers stronger flavors, the pasties were overall a bit bland. I feel the pasties are a little expensive for how much food you're getting. I can see these pasties be served from a food truck since they give off a takeout vibe due to how portable they are. Although my girlfriend and I weren't full after ordering 2 pasties, a mix of the taste being "boring" and inattentive service made us not want to order more. The service can be improved. I recall walking in and no one was there to attend to us, so we had to grab our own menus near the entrance and find a seat. We then had to wave our waiter over when we wanted something, which is a little shock considering it's a western restaurant. read more

The only negative I would say is that both times I have gone there they were out of several pasties. Went here with the fam during the holiday season after hearing all of the hype. This location is much bigger than the other one in Tempe that's like a bar so there's a lot of seating. Even so, it's quite busy but we didn't have to wait long despite having a huge party. Overall, it's ok. The pasties are huge and can be split but more expensive than I think they should be. I got the chicken tikka masala pasty and while there were some spices it was overall alright. It's a fun experience though and kind of feels like eating a handheld pot pie or a burrito with a pastry texture. The Scottish egg on the other hand is actually pretty crazy. It's small but the flavor is dense and tasty. If I went back I'd likely just get the egg. read more

I quite loved it here. Cornish Pasty in Tempe sits in a small strip mall with decent enough parking. From the outside it doesn't look like much but then entering it is this dark, moody pub feel that I haven't really experienced since the UK. I was impressed! The chandeliers were fun providing soft light. The amount of seating and types were impressive. I saw everything from two tops to what looked like it could fit twenty. Deep recessed booths, smaller tables, and a long bar top gave this place serious character! We were told to seat wherever we wanted and our waiter was attentive, pleasant, and quick. The food was filling. I ordered a meat and cheese pasty and initially thought this didn't look too big! But found quickly that it was immensely filling. I loved it. The meat was cooked perfectly, not too much cheese, the red wine gravy was a bit underwhelming but the pasty stood without it just fine. The pasty itself was solid. I could pick it up like a sandwich and it held together perfectly. It is like if a pot pie and a Stromboli mixed. The cocktails were fantastic. I found them light and refreshing. I didn't drink much as I had to drive so luckily nothing was too heavy handed either. It was a fantastic dinner with friends and I would happily return! read more

We have been to the downtown location but finally get to check this one out before heading to the gammage for a show. I wasn't sure what to expect from the outside with it being in a strip mall type lot, but when you walk in it's dark just like the downtown location with all the prohibition era decor. Love the chandeliers and vintage velour wallpaper, the dark booths, bar stools and seats. We got to seat ourselves when we arrived and were greeted by our server almost immediately. The staff is super friendly and chill. I ordered the vegan oggie and hubby got the meat and cheese pasty. They came out pretty quick and were piping hot. The pasty was nice and crisp and the stuffing was packed and flavorful. I loved the side of vegan rosemary gravy to compliment the flavors. The hubby loved the homemade sausage and ratio of cheese & meat in his pasty, and he loved the red wine gravy. Bathrooms were clean, service was great, and the food was delicious. We will be back especially since this one is closer to us than the other locations. read more

Or at least I do....so I trucked across Phoenix rush hour to get to the choice Tempe location. I went for those Delicious Parliament Wings, and my favorite pasty, the Carne Adovada, and a tasty traditional old fashion to wash it all down. Satisfied with a full and happy belly. I packed up my leftovers for second supper/late night snack. Then of course a order to go of that decadent oooey gooey Chocolate bread and butter pudding that comes with creme anglaise and ice cream. I have been coming here for almost 20 years- this was my dad's favorite place to bring me for daddy/daughter dinner when I was a child. And the food and service is STILL so good!! Cornish Pasty has been a go to for many years for me. I'm staying in Tempe this weekend and was so glad to be able to visit again. Their pasties are always so full and flavorful! This location is smaller and has limited seating. However it has a lot of bar seating. Servers are friendly and food comes out quickly. I always enjoy the Mexican is always one of my favorites.
