I've been here probably 6 or 7 times and keep coming back every time we visit from out of town, so they must be doing something right! Definitely a unique aesthetic here. Inside is very dark and old fashioned feeling, with patterned wallpaper and carpet, and an abundance of small chandeliers. Feels intentionally kitschy. The food is always great! You have to get a pasty if you've never had one (a handheld pie, filled with meat/veggies, which miners used to pack for lunch and eat in the mines). They have 44 different ones to try! (Although usually a handful of flavors are not available on a given day.) In particular I love and very much appreciate that they have devoted a large section of their menu to vegan and vegetarian pasties! It is so nice to have multiple choices to choose from when looking for vegan options, so I never get sick of eating here because I can get a different flavor to fit my mood. In short, I'd highly recommend! They have something for everyone from a flavor profile perspective. read more

Great experience! My only complaint is that I was charged $12 for a beer and the menu says $8 for the 20 ounce pours. Im not much of a beer drinker so I am not familiar w the sizes or names- I seem to only enjoy it in AZ because it's hot as hell for summer and I am not sure if the menu goes up after 630pm, but I was having a good time and I didn't want to make a big deal about it because it was a lot of people at the bar top, but def keep things consistent with what the menu says or update it accordingly with pricing. The soup was amazing! I had the chicken and bean soup- super flavorful and nicely seasoned! The bread that accompanied it was so filling, I left with a tummy ache from being overstuffed haha. Decline the bread in the future if you're watching your weight or counting carbs or only ask for one slice. It is thicccccck and probably should be shared or saved for later lol! I took a few pieces and dipped it in and also shared with a coworker. I tasted two beers before deciding on this rainbow sherbet sour that tasted like an old school flinstone pushpop ice cream that was also rainbow sherbet or orange sherbet flavored. The vanilla blueberry beer I think had too much of a vanilla essence for me and I didn't care for the taste. Thanks for letting me taste the soup and two beers before deciding my fate. I had a great time here! Always the perfect vibes! read more

Cornish Pasty is a cool little find reminiscent of a proper British pub right on Mill Avenue. It is unique as the long bar faces the street with outdoor high tables lining the sidewalk and a cozy narrow space lining the bar on the inside. The pub was noticeably frequented regulars young and old, always a good sign! The service was fun and highly attentive. The Cornish Pasties are made in house, delivered each morning from one of their other locations and the array of choices was impressive. Reasonably priced in a cool little set up with good food and great service! read more

Nice little spot for lunch or drinks -- large menu of Cornish pasties, beers, etc. They've got bar seating both indoors and outdoors. Our server, Megan, was helpful and friendly. Tried the cheese and onion pasty which overall was tasty and quite cheesy but the potatoes definitely could've been cooked longer so that they weren't as hard. read more

Our bartender and server Carson gave us the absolute best experience. Ambiance (2/5): Located on the busy strip of Mill. There's a tight row of outdoor dining tables and the wall is shared with the inner bar on the inside. The dark inside setting has bar seating and similarly tight spacing. Loud rock music played from the speakers overhead where we dined outside. Walls are decked out in graffiti/ grunge decor. Bathrooms require a key from the front and are located around the building behind locked metal doors. Service (1/5): It was basically no service as we walked our water glasses from the server from the bar and also ordered at bar. Spicy Chicken Asiago (2/5): The chicken meat was very dry and hardly seasoned. I liked the spice level but the overall flavor was lacking despite having a side of pico and sour cream to bolster the pastry. The pastry dough reminds me of a pie crust and that part was soft and buttery but not crunchy. I enjoyed the dough part. Lamb w Mint (2/5): The lamb was flavored well but the mint flavor was crazy overpowering-- it made it taste disgusting as if I were brushing my teeth with mint meats. read more

Had a really bad experience here. Bartender took the order. Was rude and hasty. Okay, I get it, it's a tough job and maybe you're sick of serving drunk students, but that wasn't me. Then the food, I ate it and somehow it was COLD AND UNDERCOOKED inside. I generally love Cornish pasty but I would avoid this location at all costs! read more

Cornish Pasty on Mill is always a great spot. The food is consistently good, the pasties are filling and flavorful, and there's a great variety on the menu, including vegetarian options. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, whether you're stopping in for a meal or drinks. Service has always been friendly, and it's a reliable place to go when you're on Mill looking for something different but satisfying. read more

Great location right on mill, you can sit outside or enjoy the bar inside. We stopped in for a few beers, the soup of the day was a mushroom spinach walnut and it was amazing. We got the grilled cheese with it which was okay no complaints. The cheese fries "chips" were AMAZING perfectly crispy. Our server was kind and welcoming, will definitely stop back for the full meal experience. read more

I LOVE this location! It is the smallest of the Cornish P's ive been to and the intimacy and people watching is everything! Small bar area with a few tables to sit. The bar is inside and outside with the inside bar overlooking Mill Ave. The food is consistently great like every Cornish Pasty, as is the service. Still the same huge menu with many vegan options. If you you enjoy people watching while eating great food, run don't walk to Cornish Pasty on Mill! read more

Did my due diligence. Google mapped the entire area. Read the reviews. Decided it was the place. Sat down at the bar and apparently became instantly invisible. Only 3 or 4 people in the place. NOT busy. Bartender could barely make it halfway down the bar before retreating to the back or his phone. Sat for 15 minutes waiting without success and gave up and left. Can't tell you anything about the food or drink because I was never offered anything. Can't even say worst service ever because there was NO service. ZERO. Will not return--you had your chance and blew it. read more

Good pasty and chips. Meat and Swede is always good. Pepper forward as is traditional. Crust was tasty but maybe not as traditional. Red wine gravy was solid. This location is a hole in the wall bar with above average food. The bar itself is tiny and the staff was entertaining. It's very much a dive bar with lots of taps but some stale in the mix. read more

Food: 5/5 Bangers & Mash Pasty: I didn't know what to expect from this dish, but I was surprised with how much I enjoyed it. The pasty was large enough to cut in half. The outside was doughy and thick, perfect to hold the filling inside. The filling consisted of sausage, mashed potatoes, and gravy. The sausage provided the perfect snap to the creamy potato. Even the gravy on the side was tangy and rich, a perfect complement to the comforting dish. Service: 5/5 The waiter was very nice and attentive. I dined with a Cornish Pasty regular and the waiter knew him. Overall, the food was delicious and the service was agreeable. Give this place a visit! read more

This place is small but has outside seating and the staff is attentive. The pasties are very delicious. New Mexico chile is featured in their delicious offerings! Red or green you can't go wrong. The pasty is quite large and we did not realize that until we ordered. We could have shared and had plenty to eat. We did take half for later. We sat at the clean bar and people watched outside. It was a chilly day. Best part is you can bring your pup and sit outside! Beer selection is ok. read more

Seating was tough for short people and my elderly mother. Those high tops are so tall! It was packed on a Friday mid-day and there was only one server behind the bar taking orders and helping serve drinks. They were out of a couple favorites, disappointedly so but we carried on. We've been here many times and the Pasty's were just a little lackluster this time, sadly. We will return, but not right away. Sorry. read more

I don't understand the hype around Cornish Pasty. I ordered the shepherd's pie and found it incredibly bland--the only seasoning I could taste was salt. I'm not sure what an authentic pasty is supposed to taste like, given how limited the options for this cuisine are in AZ, but it has to be better than this. The service and ambiance were decent, and the portion size was reasonable, but overall, it was a letdown. I'll be looking for better options elsewhere in the valley. read more

Great staff team, we are semi regulars and have had plenty of great conversations with the staff and customers. A hidden gem! So unique dishes - all of which were delicious. We started with scotch eggs (wonderful). Then got a Greek chicken pasty and a carne adovada pasty - both were fabulous. Fresh ingredients. Pastry dough was perfectly thin and crisp. Finished off with the dessert peanut butter and jelly pasty (paired with vanilla ice cream) - I cannot recommend this dessert enough. Good enough to stop in just for dessert! Service was excellent and quick. Prices were very reasonable. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Great spot for a quick lunch! read more

You truly can't go wrong with CP! This time around, I got the lamb vindaloo and my fiancé got the Guinness stew one. We also got the beet salad and the Scotch eggs for appetizers, the baked beans and roasted broccoli for sides, and the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Yes, we went all out! Their food is to die for and pure satisfaction. Ambiance is so cool, too. They have dim lighting and usually play punk rock in the background. It's so comfortable to hang out here. Our service was fine, nothing to write home about. He ignored us a couple times, but we got our food and bill at a good time. Overall, a very good time. read more

They don't have a happy hour which is disappointing. When I asked the bartender, he remarked I'd get prices like that all along Mill (which I beg to differ with)! It is cramped and the sun is in your eyes for a bit if you're sitting at the bar in the afternoon, but they had the windows open to the street, which was nice. We were looking at vegan/vegetarian pasties, but were informed less than half were available. Once we ordered, it took a good 40 min for us to get our single portobello mushroom pasty in an otherwise empty restaurant. It did come out piping hot with fresh ingredients, but was bland bland bland, very much supported by the marinara on the side - it reminded me of a calzone with a flakier rather doughy crust. This place is worth a try if you NEED a pasty, but skip it otherwise - I ended up dropping $17 for a semi-chilled bottle of Well's Banana Bread Beer and half a pasty. read more

I moved to Tempe for school '09-'11. I believe I stumbled upon the original Cornish Pasty by accident while doing what most college students do best; fighting a terrible hangover. At the time, it was in such a tiny little shopping center space that you could barely squeeze into a seat. It was HOT and noisy as the chefs working behind the bar made these things called "pasties". I had barely even heard of them before and was slightly apprehensive... The first bite I took I will ALWAYS remember. It was a combination of flavors that amazed every sense that I had! I was in love! Fast forward to just a few weeks ago as I walked down ole Mill Avenue in Tempe. There stood a "Cornish Pasty"!! Could it be the love I had never forgotten yet somehow pushed just out of reach? Even though I should have waited to take that first bite, I couldn't. And it was like reuniting with an old delicious friend. One of my all time favorite foods around the country! Happy to see you grow and yet keep the taste and quality that I loved so much. read more

Super. Expat Aussie here, grew up with meat pies, sausage rolls and pasties, and this really scratched the itch that I've been craving for a while. The straight up traditional pasty is great, and comes with a jus that is just perfect. I eat vegetarian mostly these days but I'll cheat if it is worth it. They also have great veg options too. Great pastry, lovely flavours. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

Charming bar with smaller menu than the University locale. Parking was difficult to find. Metered parking, but we finally found a parking lot with instructions to feed a machine and number parking slots and got situated. WARNING: Make sure that you pay up or you will be fined. On our way back to our car, we found the parking police at work. This location is more like a bar counter. We were disappointed that we couldn't order our broccoli and cauliflower casserole, but our Cornish Pasties were not a disappointment. I got the Cajun Chicken and my friend got the Royale. The Cajun was definitely spicy and not for the faint of heart. The blackened chicken was flavorful. I loved my crust. My friend's Royale looked delicious as it oozed with cheese. They had several beers on tap including Guiness! Beer and pasties, perfect bar food scene. read more

Wishing I didn't have to grab my food as carry out because I was really digging the grunge/garage door vibes of this business. My husband had one request for his Arizona birthday trip: must.eat.pasties. You got it, doll. So, I picked up some tasty treats via carry-out right before picking him up at the airport. They were able to turn around my phone call carry out order within 20 minutes. We opted for the cottage pie (which comes with a red wine gravy) and the caramel apple pie pasty which is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. If we had more time, we would have chowed on our pasties at the bar along with a cold bebida. It was certainly happening during the Friday night time frame when I visited around 8pm. Super tasty, you guys. This is "stick-to-your-ribs" food at its finest. If you're new to the world of pasties (as I was), here's the full scoop: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasty read more

Cornish Pasty Co is a chain in the Phoenix area only and specializes in pocket filled hearty sandwiches. The Phoenix location by far has the most character. It is located in downtown in a cool old two-story building. I give our visit 4 stars because while the tikka masala pasty was absolutely fantastic, my wife has the asiago chicken and it wasn't quite as good. My kids had a meatball parmigiana pasty and they both loved it. There is a full bar and the service is decent, but it does get a little slow because there is usually a good crowd. I would go back and most pasty options cost $11-$14 and they do offer several vegetarian options. read more

So this place is open hella late, has a bar attched, and a wide variety of unique meat pastries? Do I need to say any more? You should give them a chance, I'm super stoked I did.
