The steaks are A-amazing! Flavor was perfect and we finish the cooking on a hot stone. My husband and I ordered our own steaks, he chose the wagyu tenderloin and I had the wagyu ribeye. Then we shared sides (which you have to order separately.) We had the baked potato which was huge but undercooked and very little toppings for the size. We ordered an appetizer that was kind of boring, it was some bread with refried beans on it and cheese. For the price that's a "no." Service was great! Our waiter was very attentive, but spoke way too fast! lol The ambiance was nice and cozy. Tables are a little tight, but nice atmosphere. It's like a sister restaurant to Asadero Steak in Kent/Seattle You get welcomed by your server holding/presenting a wooden board with limes, mint, lemon and cucumber for you to choose to add to your glass of water. Love that thoughtful memorable hospitality touch. You also get a complimentary appetizer of their delicious salsa that I keep thinking about even now. **Get the Australian wagyu Rib Eye! It's so tender and flavorful and one of the most recommended! Atmosphere and environment was nice and clean. Service was one of the best we had. Ellie was such an amazing server and did a great job serving our party of 14. Will def be back because of her and made the experience very memorable. We had 3 kids with us and felt welcomed, they even have a kids menu that has good selections. They even have a menu for "kidtails" drinks. The only negative feedback I can give is that their rice was super duper salty. Not quite sure if that was normal or if the chef messed up. We've been a fairly frequent guest of Sonora Steak in the past, this by far was the most disappointing experience we've had thus far. I would say the service has gone down over the last few times we've been there, but today was an utter disappointment. We made a reservation we arrived on time and we had to engage the hostess in order to be greeted and sat. The seating was open in front by the windows, and we were put into a corner booth. Servers walked by, looked at us, and kept walking. After the sixth server looked at our table and kept walking we got up and left. 5 minutes to be greeted and sat, an additional 10 minutes of waiting and we were never greeted by a server. A hidden gem! We found this spot via social media. We came here on a Thursday night and we were shocked it was full by the time we left. When you enter you will notice the place is very well decorated and it's clean. Menu has lots of great options. The menu is not overwhelming like it tends to be in places like this. The food portions were perfect for us. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food we got. Food was delicious. Every bite was better than the last. Our waitress Meghan was very sweet and friendly. I've been here 2x now and came back because I could not get over the amazing steak I ate the last time I came, about a month ago! Parking is easy to find since it's located in a strip mall. service is always good and I enjoy the complimentar fruits or herbs to add to your water and the fried tostadas with beans and salsa. I really enjoy how the Vacío steak comes with a hot plate so I can cook it if needs to be cooked a little longer or just to have my meat hot during my meal. The Argentinian wagyu is soft and flavorful. You'll have to order sides since you only get the meat. So we got the baked potato which is huge and you can definitely share with another person. Certainly good food, and friendly service! You can see them making fresh salsa right as you enter. The salsa is super fresh and has the right amount of kick. You can also always ask for more salsa throughout your meal. We really like to put it on our steak as well. We've gotten multiple appetizers, steaks, loaded potatoes, and cocktails and it has always been awesome! Between my husband and I we always order an appetizer, a steak, and a carne asada loaded potatoes and we are always leaving full and with left overs. Only down side is that the restaurant is LOUD. We went to the restaurant for the first time last Sat for dinner. Food was awesome but it was a bit salty for my taste. Ordered a steak (Medium Well)which was fantastic. Great service and atmosphere. However, after 1-2 hrs or so, I started having excruciating abdominal pain that wouldn't go away. As time went on, it got worse and I barely made out of the restroom as I thought I was going to pass out. Assistance from the staff members were very helpful. The service was also very slow and it was strange the waiter seemed to not be able to go around the table even though it was wide open, constantly reaching over the top of us for everything. Wow. I've delayed going to this place forever but finally went with my wife and cousin and was absolutely blown away. I can confidently say I had the best meal of my life. Food: 5/5 - Vacio (medium-rare): I had the 14 oz American Wagyu Cross that's about 2-3 inches thick, very flavorful and lean, but also juicy and tender. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Though I prefer beef on the rarer side, I'll order a medium next time because even leaving the steak on the stone to cook took some time to reach desired texture. I learned afterwards that this cut is a flank steak, which I've only had in sliced form, but this steak is now my favorite, surpassing the ribeye. - Delmonico (medium rare): My husband had the 30oz USDA Prime, bone-in NY steak. Tender and juicy. I only had small sample, which was good, but I liked mine better. - Roasted cauliflower: Tasty! - Raspberry honey cake: Delicious! - Flan trio: Delicious! BTW, steaks come with a very small portion of chimichurri sauce (garlic, parsley, oregano, olive oil, and ?). I had to ask for more. Calling all Fans of Asadero Prime Steakhouse's- Maple Valley has a PHENOMENALMexican Steakhouse, and it's Sonora Steak!! My wife and I regularly walk a nearby trail (just behind the restaurant) and have always wondered about this place. I mentioned it to a co-worker of mine, and his expression was all the information I needed without details. His eyes lit up, and an ear to ear grin instantly radiated. I told my wife let's plan a date night but I was advised to make reservations, as it's always packed. We decided to pop inside last week, if anything to make plans for the weekend, but instead, within a 2-3 second turnaround, we were being escorted to our dining experience. STEAK STEAKS & more STEAKS!! The choice is plenty, of various cuts, various grades, and cooking methods. I chose the Chuleta de Ribeye... 18oz of carnivore bliss!!! I requested if it could be cooked on their stone, and typically it's not offered, but seeing how we were early birds and our first time, Danielle made it happen, and MAN O MAN!!! It did not disappoint!! I truly wish I could post videos on this format, because if I could, it is all that is needed to convince you this place is absolutely worth the experience!! I ordered it to be cooked Medium, but you pretty much control how long it cooks on that stone. Then you move it over to the attached butcher block and heaven awaits. We ordered the Guacamole Casero, which came with tostadas and fresh baked bread... seriously Y'all... BEST GUAC hands down! No joke. The texture, the creaminess, the flavor... just unreal. The side dishes are a la carte, so that is extra but let me tell ya, one is enough for two- without a doubt. We ordered the Vegetable side, which was oven fire roasted mushrooms, cooked in white wine and butter- taste buds were exploding in both sides of the table. The 'shrooms would melt in your mouth the second it touched your lips. That alone could have been my meal- no joke! The Queen to my craziness ordered the Pollo Asado, which she was gracious enough to allow a few bites of chicken breasts cooked in a pineapple marinade with some roasted on top, as well. Outstanding!! The wife ordered a tall Coconut Pineapple Rum concoction off their drink menu and I had a glass of wine, which paired well with the steak. Let me tell ya, our experience was all the more enhanced with the help of Danielle. She made sure we were looked after and attended to, had great conversations, and was a pleasure from beginning to end!
