With a baseball tournament and the ball park around the corner youd think they staff just a little bit better. The order take was extreamly rude. We waited almost 20 mins for our food whixh included chicken strips a hotdog and a cheeseburger the wait would have been fine if the food was fresh and hot, the strips were soggy. We wernt not offered any sauce for the strips we had to go to the door and ask. About 5 mins later we finally got the sauce. Just to bite into the corndog and it was still dough squeezing out it. Asked to speak to a manager took another 5 mins for her to come out, asked her of she eats undercooked corndogs she said no not generally, oh so its ok because your serving it to your customers. Oh man, where does one begin?? The food, the prices, the filthy tables?? Our family was in a rush, wanted something to satisfy the kids before we could get home. We stopped at Sonic for a quick meal. After we figured out how to order by watching other people, we sat down, the table was rough, like extremely dirty, it's outside, I get it, but to eat on, oh man.. The price we heard on the intercom was $10.07, I thought we were mistaken, but, when the nice young lady found us after asking 3 other tables before us and us waving to her, she asked for $10.07, for fries and a drink!! I worked here and ate here before that. The food is not something you want to put into your body, as a former employee trust me on that please, you'll seriously get sick. Don't order the ice cream, the blended is never cleaned or maintained. Maybe it's cleaned like 2-3 times within an few hours if your lucky. Nobody here cares because they're all burned out from understaffing. Literally no one will care about your order, if it's fresh it's because they were out not because they cared. This location is in sad shape! Only one walk up order box, and the card reader is out of order and the order taker sounds like he is calling in long distance from eastern Europe. Equipment maintenance does not seem to be a high priority for this particular franchise owner, nor is cleanliness of the patio. Sonics milkshakes are half off right now, and totally worth it! 1large shake and 1 small shakes is $4! They have a ton of flavors too. I get Oreo which isn't on the menu. I love sonic but this location is sub-par. The drive in speaker never works and the tots/fries have a burnt oil flavor. Several times I have pulled up to the drive in speaker and there is no employees ready to take my order. Sonic chooses to staff only one employee and they can't hear the vehicles pull up when they are in the freezer or the bathroom. The staff is very friendly and this is not their fault. read more

THIS RESTAURANT IS OVER PRICED. IN FACT, SONIC SHOULD BE EMBARASSED FOR THE MYNUTE PORTIONS AS WELL THE OVER-COOKED AND UNDER-COOKED FINISHED PRODUCT OF FOOD THEY SERVE TO PEOPLE. On July 21, 2019, we visited Sonic, located at 1483 West Colony Road,in Ripon, California. This visit included my granddaughter, sister in law, her granddaughter, as well as myself. This was my granddaughter's and my first visit and needless to say; it will be our last visit to any Sonic fast food chain. To write this in condensed version. The french fries, could wave at you, extremely under-cooked and virtually tasted bland and seemed as if they had been around for awhile. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich for $5.69, was less than a 1/4" thick and thin. It tasted as if it were old or had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile; a #2 Combo cheeseburger meal for $8.39; medium hot fudge shake for $1.70; cookie dough blast for $5.70. My total bill ended up being $22.70. The only thing that was enjoyed out of this expensive meal was the hot fudge shake. Everything else was bad. We disposed over 1/2 of the whole meal, finished all of the shake. We left, and approximately 1/2 hour after what little we ate of the meal; my grand daughter, sister in law and myself, ended up having stomach issues (pain and extreme discomfort). The next day, 22nd of July; I called the main phone number for Sonic's Corporate office at (866)657-6642, spoke with someone in management, who was very pleasant. I stated my request for refund of items purchased on July 21st; how we got sick from eating what food we ate, and that I paid a lot of money on my debit card for it. Although, this manager seemed very apologetic and concerned about what we experienced; he explained that the Sonic. located in Ripon is a franchise which is owned by a party outside of Sonic Corporation, in which the owner is responsible and directed me to call that person. I called, and ended up getting someone who claimed to be a manager. When I explained about spending $22.70, for a meal. I shared about our experience with all the items purchased and how the only thing that we could finish was the shake and how that was the only thing that was good and that 3 of us ended up getting sick from the food. I requested a refund. He wanted to know why I didn't talk to the manager on site. I explained we didn't have the stomach issues until after we left. He told me he would have to speak to another manager, who was higher up and would call me back. He called me back in approximately 10 minutes. He said, that I couldn't get a refund without returning the food items. I replied, most people don't hang on to food, not knowing they will become ill until after they leave the premises. I explained about how french fries were under cooked and tasteless; and how the chicken sandwich was small, tasted old or left under a sun lamp. This person, claiming to be a manager said they have procedures on how they prepare food that are followed. I said unless a manager is around to witness this, how would anyone know who is following those procedures for preparing and keeping food. He also stated, I didn't call until the next day. I replied, we were quite a ways from home and I don't get service at times on my cell phone. We didn't arrive home until after 5p.m. He also stated that whoever he talked to said, "It takes 24 hours to get sick after eating food."(said he could not divulge the name of the person when I asked). I replied, how does this person know how long it takes to get sick after eating food? I also stated each case of getting sick from eating anything varies and asked if this person was a medical professional or has some education? I asked if the person in charge would give me back any of my money. The person I was speaking with said, "no". I informed him I spoke to the Corporate office with management who told me to call the store owner or manager to request a refund. He still stood his ground that I wasn't going to get a refund. I apprised him that I would be posting a complaint, so that this would not happen to anyone else. He told me to go ahead and wished me a nice day. I said, "goodbye" and hung up. read more

Reading other reviews and to be honest I'm kinda surprised! The service that I received from Bella made me want to create a Yelp account just so her bosses know that she made my day. It was my first time going to Sonic and the drive through line was taking forever. Bella walked out with my food and took my payment because my order was ready and she said she didn't want me to wait on the 2 cars in front of me who were going to be awhile. I may have made things a little awkward when I said I love her but hey at 8 months pregnant and starving anyone that brings you food deserves some love! Let me start off by saying this is the worst sonic in the area. Everytime my girlfriend and I go here, we always leave disappointed. Order is always wrong, and for some reason the prices are about 40% higher the other Sonics in the area. My girlfriend ordered a water....and was charged full price. Ridiculous! We witnessed her yelling at one of the employees while we were sitting and eating in our car and it made us very uncomfortable. I won't be returning to this establishment. And at about 30 min wait mark we asked how much longer it would be and she said "What did you order? she didn't even put it in. We said we were going to leave but they promised they would have it out in a minute. 20 more minutes went by without anyone coming or going to any of the other cars that were also waiting a terribly long time. OK, so I have been dying to try out Sonic Drive In and the great menu for years :). I had to be in Ripon CA for my son's soccer State Cup Tournament. After 3 crushing losses we drove up and picked up some drinks for the ride home. The Slushy and Lime Aid drinks are really good. The only thing missing was the booze. We pulled up to the speaker box and ordered. They accidentally added an extra chili cheese tater tot order to our tab, which was fine, whatever, hubby likes the tots anyway. I tried to pay with card and when we buzzed in to make sure they had added the one order of tots, the speaker box machine which was also the machine to pay wouldn't allow me to do so, I think the employee cleared our order. Went to Sonic today for the last time. I was at the drive through & found the lady very rude & condescending. I wanted to get my 3 year old an ice cream for being so good at the barber. I have in the past asked for an ice cream for a child. She acted like I asked for something alien. "We don't have a child's ice cream. I don't understand what you want"! This was only the beginning of the transaction. I won't go into the rest. I then asked for a manager from the employee who brought me the drinks. She apologized and informed me that the lady who took my order was Wendy the manager. She also said, "yes, she's very rude. We get that a lot".
