    Matcha ah boong
    Joshua O.

I went here on June 7, 2024 at night. It was for dessert after dinner. I ordered the matcha ah boong. Matcha ice cream was tasty and pretty cold. I chose Oreo crumbs for the topping and I liked the texture with the ice cream. The filling might've been Nutella or I didn't choose a filling. It took around 15 minutes to get it because it was pretty busy. It sucks that they don't accept cash. Maybe it's because they don't have a cash drawer. There was music playing in a speaker. It was pretty bright inside.

    Dubái chocolate on their menu!

A couple weeks ago I tried there Dubai chocolate taiyaki and it was the best thing ever! I came to get some again and now they only offer them if you get ice cream! Doesn't make any sense that they cannot make them if they have the items, and it's still showing on their menu. I cannot eat ice cream!

SomiSomi is a fun, casual spot to get ice cream. I wouldn't say that the ice cream is very good, but it is fun. The real highlight here is the taiyaki, which is a fish-shaped pancake that you can fill with various things, like custard, nutella, and more. They are made with a batter that is crisp on the outside and very chewy on the inside. You can get a whole box of different flavors to try, which is what I did, and it may be the best way to try all of the different fillings.

After a day of strolling, we decided to visit Somisomi and finally try it. We ordered via their kiosk, which was quick and easy. They offer soft serve ice cream with Taiyaki fish-shaped waffles w/ fillings and toppings, plus drinks like milk tea and cold brew. Today, we went for simple ice cream -- matcha for me, milk for Izzy. It was delicious, but we couldn't finish it. The plain waffle complemented the ice cream well. The little guy loved it and even made a video. Lol Restroom on site and no place to sit just fyi.

Great experience. I'm usually iffy about places with multiple locations, but this one was really cool when I visited. Quick and efficient, and I got exactly what I wanted. They put together my order nicely and it was really good. Not too sweet, just right. Pretty solid location.

Upside down ah boongs. THE BEST

I'm so happy there's a Somisomi in Bixby! It's on the busy part of Atlantic, so you can just walk there for a sweet treat after indulging on yummy ramen or sushi from down the street. What I love about this place is that the soft serve isn't too sweet! (Isn't that the ultimate compliment for dessert nowadays?) It's a clean, very casual establishment with only standing room available to chow down on your treats. My go-to order is the Upside down Ah Boong (the goldfish shaped waffle cone) with Nutella or custard filling. You can't go wrong with any of their soft serve flavors, but my favorite is Ube! They have rotating flavors, like swirl of the week or flavors based on location, so keep that in mind. I'm so excited to try their banana pudding flavor!

Yummy ice cream and taiyaki! Super quick to grab and they give plenty of ice cream I'm always full after.

Somisomi was yummy for myself and my little one. We got the Ube ice cream inside a Taiyaki Japanese fish filled with Nutella and it was sooo goood but a bit too rich at the end I couldn't finish the tail of the fish too much Nutella. (You don't have to get a filling). Then we got the milk and chocolate soft serve in a cup. We are so excited to finally say we tried it. The register girl was there taking orders and then she was gone and told her co workers something and went to the back. Then we waited and finally someone that works there pouring the ice cream said we can order thru the kiosk if we're ready and I was like ummm you could have said that sooner lady. Anywho, she was nice she gave me an extra cup and spoon because I ordered the Taiyaki fish but I wanted it upside down and I guess I didn't order it correctly but you can just flip the fish yourself into a cup lol. The place was busy so it was first Fridays so the ambiance was loud and busy busy I almost didn't want to make like but it went fast despite the girl at the register walking away. Thankful for a nice dessert place that's not too pricy and it's delicious.

Somi Somi is always a favorite! The quality is pretty consistent across locations, which is nice. I love that you can order quickly and easily on their tablet. My friend got the banana pudding soft serve with the taiyaki and I got the hotteok and cheddar cheese taiyaki. The banana pudding soft serve was subtle and sweet and the taiyaki was warm, chewy, and comforting. They even had a cute Instagram photo op spot! Great, dependable place for late night dessert :)

I stopped by today because my sister said they had limited time Dubai chocolate taiyaki and said it was good. We purchased the 5 for 9.95 deal. All favors were good... we ordered Nutella, Oreo and the Dubai. For an extra $2 for Dubai was so disappointed there was barely anything in it!! My sis was surprised too because she had just gone 2 days prior and said it was stuffed for an extra $2 it's not worth it.

They have Ube ice cream!! I only wish they had more flavors!! Their service is good, just one person behind the counter!

Great soft serve and taiyaki but this location has no seating inside or outside. During a summer visit we asked for water (tap water for our dog since it was getting a bit hot) and they refused, saying they weren't allowed. Lacks a personal touch.

    Alek H.

Absolutely delicious. Great service. Even the trainee was amazing. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because the counters were super dirty. I can see that the business model is not to have any chairs or seating area for patrons. I can accept that, but the few countertops that they have for people to stand and enjoy their ice cream were not usable simply because of how dirty they were so it was very inconvenient not to be able to put things down or to lean anywhere.

It felt like a place for locals to enjoy a great steak without breaking the bank on drinks. Where we can sit and chat for hours over a few bottles of wine. It felt like a place to take our families and friends for any occasion. The new corkage fee started from 0 and jumped to 50 bucks after the first bottle. That is a huge jump that I know many regulars are not a fan of. This place no longer feels worth it. It suddenly feels like any other steakhouse trying to attract "high end" clientele. No longer has the feel as a place where regular people can enjoy a steak. We've been customers for over a decade. And it had its rough times. It wasn't always as popular as it is today. But we stuck with them because mainly for the no corkage fee as dumb as that sounds. We were loyal and it paid off. They got through rough times and the food quality got so much better today. Our loyalty was lost with the corkage fee change. When asked for a suggestion, I would recommended to buy a good steak and cook it at home these days. Such a shame.

The water is fused with a fruit. This time it was watermelon mint. We tried the tonkatusu and shoys. Both tasted great. The shoya had a meatier tasting broth whereas the other was thicker and a bit creamier. We also tried the pork buns. They were soft and suppose. The meat was tender. The buns would have been less moist since it made it a tad bit soggy. But nonetheless it was still very good. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was shocking. It was so good. I hate tuna but this was very good. It wasn't fishy at all and had such a great umami taste to it all I would totally recommend this place to someone who wants a simple ramen menu that is priced around $20 per entree. The wait can get about an hour or more on the weekend but if you come during the week try to get there before 7pm. The only down side is they add a service charge to your bill. On their menu it's scratched out that you can take it off the bill. I think this is their way of tipping their servers but considering it's 17% is pretty hefty if you have a large bill. From a bill of about $35 it was a $5 service fee charge.

No gimmicks, no theatrics, just the steady hum of a grill that's probably seen more lunch rushes than most people have had hot meals. The teriyaki hits first -- simple, slightly sweet, familiar in the way comfort food should be. Chicken grilled with enough char to remind you someone actually stood over flame to make it happen, not a microwave or a shortcut. Portions are generous in that unspoken way working-class spots understand: you don't leave hungry, and nobody's trying to sell you nostalgia on a plate. What stands out more than anything is consistency. In a world where restaurants chase trends or reinvent themselves into oblivion, this place feels anchored. The kind of neighborhood spot that survives because it has to -- because people actually come back, not because it's marketed well online. The space itself carries layers of history. You can still feel the old identity underneath the newer polish, like a building remembering what it used to be even after a remodel. That kind of continuity is rare. It's not fine dining. It's not trying to be. It's lunch, dinner, and everything in between for people who work with their hands, clock in, and just need something reliable that doesn't waste their time. And sometimes, that's the highest praise you can give a place like this: it shows up every day, does its job, and doesn't pretend to be anything else.
