First time at Somisomi and I'm hooked! The ube with Oreo dust was earthy greatness and the custard filled fish paired with the matcha and banana milk swirl sweetness was delicious. The ube is my new favorite!

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the modern looking interior and large plant in the center. The space is well lit with amphitheatre style seating, what a unique concept! There was a long line on a weekday night, it looks like a lot of folks came in to grab some post dinner dessert. I tried the ube ice cream with custard filling and toppings recommended by the staff - the ice cream was not too sweet and the flavor combination with custard was delectable! The taiyaki with nutella filling was so yummy too.

YUM. A dang good experience all around. You'd wonder if the location of real estate will pass the rest of time, but I sure do hope Somi Somi does. I'm excited for the Link neighborhood to have a solid soft serve and, even better, taiyaki! Lee, on his first day behind the counter, welcomed each of us as the line continued to grow past the entrance. The owner, who's name I didn't catch, was so sweet and quickly led us through options. Ample seating, including an untraditional amphitheatre seating. By far, the Ube Cookies and Cream swirl was the best! Finished with a dusting of oreo cookie crumbles, and a black sesame filled taiyaki...omg. Chef's kiss. Even better? I would suggest the side strawberry (even though I opted for the macaroon). The matcha banana swirl was good, too, but I think next time I'd prefer the flavors separately. A beautiful addition to the North Austin dessert scene!

My first time trying out Somisomi Soft Serve and Taiyaki and it was SO good. It is a spacious location in N. Austin at the Linc with plenty of parking. The store is whimsical and modern and bright. There are lots of yummy rich soft-serve flavors to pick from -- such as Milk, Chocolate, Ube, Matcha, Cookies and Cream and they just added Banana Milk which is what I selected. It tasted so fresh and natural. For my toppings I had coconut flakes and it is served in their signature goldfish-shaped waffle cone. So cute and delicious too. Perfect for the whole family. Is is not overly sweet and the portions are quite large. And next to try the Taiyaki, a crispy fish shaped pastry filled with your choice of filling. I selected custard. Other fillings are Nutella, Oreo's Cheddar and Black Sesame. Taiyaki is usually served warm and believe me It is melt in your mouth good. I definitely recommend this Somisomi for all. Bring the kids too!

SOMISOMI was definitely a treat and a new delicious learning experience! I didn't know what to expect, and I was clueless on the different options that were listed on the Yelp Event Details email. It was like learning a new language: Ah-Boong and Taiyaki were not in my vocabulary. The counter person was very patient and helpful in explaining the options, flavors and fillings. I asked for the soft serve and fillings with the least sugar. There were so many choices of soft serve: Nutella Custard, Red Bean, Matcha Custard and Black Sesame. I ended up ordering the Matcha soft serve with red bean filling. She recommended the waffle to be placed on top of the soft serve, as it would be less messy. I followed her advice. It was fun to watch the waffles being made. A previous satisfied customer said they were so good when newly made and warm. I was getting excited with anticipation. After the other person assembled Ah-Boong behind the counter, there was a large choice of toppings: Biscoff Crumble, Oreo Crumbs, Macaron, Captain Crunch, Cocoa Pebbles, Rainbow Sprinkles, Matcha Powder, Strawberry Coconut Flakes, and Graham Cracker Crumbs I chose Matcha powder and coconut flakes. (Again, I chose the toppings with the least sugar.) They added nicely to the Matcha soft serve! For the Taiyaki, I chose the cheese filling on advisement for its less sugar content. It was a good choice with a savory twist: like grilled cheese. The decor is modern, clean and spacious with plenty of seating. I will definitely be back to try more flavors and filling combinations! #somisomi #yelpaustin

My experience was great! The place was busy and I still got my order in a timely manner. The staff was very efficient and friendly. I love the seating area. It it is great for working and socializing. There are charging stations at the booths. I got the custard filled ahboong and it was so warm and delightful. I also got the ube and Oreo swirl soft serve. Everything was perfect. My soft serve was creamy, not overly sweet, and the perfect quantity! I will definitely be back !

Entering the business it has a contemporary feeling. The place is very clean. Tables and benches are natural wood looking. It's definitely a place for younger people since the older population would have difficulties sitting on the wooden benches some with no back support but the younger generation will love the different ambience The server was very nice explaining all the different menu items. My absolute favorite was the matcha strawberry swirl soft serve. This is the first place for me finding matcha ice cream other than buying in the store.

Brought the kids in for a treat and had a few different ahboongs, soft serve cup and taiyaki The black sesame filling was great but my favourite flavour was the banana milk. It tasted so natural. The red bean taiyaki was so good. The place is so big and bright and clean. Bathrooms were nice too The service was great. One girl running it all but she did a great job

Sweet tooth satisfied and perfect for the Austin hot summer afternoon. Visited SomiSomi and it did not disappoint. I tried the matcha strawberry swirl upside down Ahboong - it was creamy, perfectly balanced (not too sweet!), and that crispy cone with warm Nutella filling? Absolute game changer. Also tried a black sesame taiyaki--nutty, subtly sweet, and surprisingly delicious. The earthy flavor was spot on. They are very generous on the filling too!

Lovely spot for ice cream and to hang out in general! I came on a Saturday afternoon and there was only a few people inside. You can order soft serve, tayaki or a soft serve with a tayaki. Everything is made to order, so they will call your name and make your ice cream right there. Inside is an open space with plenty of sitting and standing spots. I got the ube matcha swirl with cream. It was big enough to share and very yummy!

I love Somisomi! Somisomi specializes in taiyaki - a nice warm (fish-shaped and designed) pancake filled with custard (or red bean) then topped with a wonderful swirl of milk/ube flavored soft serve! The inside of the business is very spacious and clean, as were there restrooms. Employees were nice and offered their recommendations if you come in indecisive on what to get. If you've never been here, definitely recommend. Especially during Austin's current heatwave, this place and their ice cream options will for sure cool you off!

We all got the upside down soft serve! It comes with toppings and a filling. They have weekly swirl options: I got the matcha Oreo swirl with black sesame filling and a macaron. I loved the bread it was crispy, sweet, and soft. The soft serve was also delicious, but I'd probably share a cup with someone next time. We all thought the serving size was pretty big, but maybe we just don't have the biggest sweet tooth haha. The store is located in the Linc which has open parking. The inside is open space with benches ? which is modern looking, but not the best if you need regular chairs/ back support. The AC is on pretty high so I'd recommend bringing a light jacket if you get cold easily like me. The workers were nice and helpful. I'd go back again!

I love how bright and open this place is. One person was working the counter, but he was friendly and efficient. My sons both ordered the upside down ahboong. One ordered cookies and cream soft serve with a Nutella lined ahboong, and the other ordered matcha soft serve with a black sesame lined ahboong. They both thoroughly enjoyed their treats. I tasted each. The cookies and cream was smooth and chocolatey without any grittiness. The matcha was smooth with just enough matcha flavor to make it stand out. This was definitely a fun afternoon treat for both of them.

Constantly had to refer to "calling her" dad to get information. Multiple things on the menu were not even available. Very "Mom and pop" and below average. Treated like it was a business someone's running out of their garage. Very unprofessional in 2026 in the city of Austin. Your menu doesn't even match what you really have? The outside is a little boring, but the interior is dressed up a bit with a chandelier and bright shiny display cases full of baklava and other desserts. The employee offered us a free sample, which was a good start. I may be guilty of falling for the "Dubai Chocolate" trend, but I chose a few pieces of baklava that had chocolate pistachio flavor profiles. I also took a risk on a nest shaped pastry filled with lemon filling, and I think it was my favorite of them all! They have tables where you can eat your treats there, and wash your hands afterwards, which is important because there's almost no way to do it without getting sticky fingers. I ate two pieces there, and saved two more for the evening, which was a lot for one day, but it was sure a treat!

Even so, the ambience seems like the decorations were cute, but very cheap and damaged overtime with little to no repairs. But I didn't come here for aesthetics. I came here for great Boba tea and sweet treats. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. What looked like a traditional milk toast dessert, was literally four pieces of stale bread, toasted and stacked on top of each other. that tasted freezer burnt with lots of sauce on top. No topping between each layer so it was not flavorful or tasty and all you could taste was a weird chemical flavor from the bread. Same thing with the ice cream, so freezer burnt that it tasted of chemicals, cardboard, and didn't even melt despite sitting on the plate for 15+ minutes. The Taro tea itself was fine with the crème brûlée topping, but the brown sugar Boba had the same chemical "going bad" flavor to it. It was super hard and bitter tasting instead of sweet. The soufflé pancakes were fine, but the ice cream was terrible on that too. It's hard to mess up Ice Cream, but somehow they managed.

The cheesecake shop is located on N. Lamar in Crescent Plaza and focuses on takeout rather than dine-in service. I ordered their signature Japanese cheesecake, and it was delicious. The cheesecake featured a thin, creamy top layer that paired nicely with the soft, cloud-like texture underneath. Each bite melted in my mouth, making it unlike any cheesecake I have had before.
