The menu had me as soon as I read pad Thai. Vegan pad Thai is few and far, and good vegan pad Thai is even more difficult to find. Something Vegan did not disappoint! I will say, the sauce for the pad Thai was slightly sweeter than I was used to but did not stop me from devouring almost the whole plate. The staff that sat me at my table suggested the chicken as my protein and I 100% agree. It was cooked just right and the flavor went along with the pad Thai very well. I also got the gyoza dumplings as I'm a sucker for those as well. The crisp on them was top shelf. If you like gyoza, you have to try there's. The serving sizes for both dishes I got were just right. Absolutely incredible vegan food, and probably the most reasonably priced all-vegan restaurant in the area (especially for the quality!)

Came for an early dinner with family on a Sunday night and noticed that when we arrived there were many tables open. Within a 15 minute period, the tables were full with people waiting, and I thought, wow, this is quite the popular place. The server came by, took our orders and we waited and waited. At one point she apologized for the food to be taking so long, said that they were not prepared for the number of folks who were there. Initially, that was ok, as we were chatting and catching up. Our spring rolls arrived first, really beautifully presented rice paper wraps containing mixed greens, marinated tofu, crispy roll and buckwheat noodles accompanied by peanut sauce. They were quite light and tasty. The gyoza is listed as pan fried on the menu, although when they arrived, they were quite crunchy as though they had been deep fried. My hubby was longing for lentil soup so he ordered what he thought was a small bowl for one and it was easily enough for two. In addition to lentils, the soup contained carrots, zucchini and what was a tasteless broth. I think the chef forgot to season this soup. The pad Thai noodles we all shared were delicious, although missing were other veggies mixed into the noodles. I ordered the yellow curry noodles which was delicious, flavorful and chock full of noodles and veggies. I was told this restaurant recently opened so I think a few of the kinks need to be worked out. It's not close by, although if I'm in the area again, I'll give it another try. I ordered the highly recommended Carbonara pasta and decided to throw in the cheese fries as well. The pasta was delicious, really saucy, the way I like it. It was flavored really well. The fries were good as well but felt it was too salty. Maybe a side of ketchup would've cut the saltiness down but they didn't offer any. Appetizer comes and NO ONE checks on food or follows up for entree order. My plate was empty, cup empty and still, every server walked around me helping every table but mine. I went here, because my friend recommended it to me. I used to go to the Chinese restaurant that was located here, but was super happy to try Something Vegan. I ordered the drunken noodles and the mango green tea and was extremely delighted. I felt like I was eating real chicken in my noodle dish. This was just a great experience for me. Delicious!!! Something Impossible Burger ($14). The race for fake burgers continues!! This burger was nicely put together and was just the amount. Not too much and not too little. One of my few 5 stars. This one is an instant favorite! We were just looking for a vegan-friendly restaurant coming from Universal Studios and we ended up trying this place. First, health and safety precautions are very well enforced. Second, customer service was good! Next, the place is not really big but has both indoor and outdoor tables available. Price, very reasonable. And lastly, food... BOMB!!! Every single thing was delicious! We even joked about moving to the area just for this. Lol! But seriously. Good good food. I noticed this spot had been taken over by Something Vegan awhile ago and I am just finally checking it out. I am not fully vegan or even vegetarian at this point, but I don't eat a lot of meat in my diet. My husband eats more meat, but is totally fine not having it with a meal. I ordered the Pomegranate Aloe Juice and it was insanely good. I'm hooked. We ordered the Quinoa Spring Rolls, they were interesting. I wouldn't get them again. I also ordered the coconut rice (it's sweet) and the Cashew Nut. My husband ordered the Avocado Curry. Both our dishes were listed spicy and yes, they are. They were incredibly tasting and filling, we took most of my order home. I loved pretty much everything we ordered. The food came out fast and hot. It was all very tasty and satisfying. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because it is a touch pricey. This would be a regular Friday night spot for us, but I can't justify the cost. I find it interesting that it's more expensive as vegetable dishes tend to cost less as meat is general the price culprit. We returned to Something Vegan earlier this week and it was fantastic as always! Overall, there's something about this place that makes it so good and clean. Not only is the staff super kind and professional, but they make some amazing vegan food. The only drawback is parking, but its not their fault. That entire area has a parking problem, but I would not let that stop you from going to to this amazing place. We also love the jazz music that they play while your dining. Yum! I've been here twice and loved it both times. (Disclaimer - I am a meat eater). Something Vegan does a great job with their flavors and I didn't really miss meat while eating the meal! I split the Tom Yum soup with tofu, yellow curry with soy chicken & brown rice, and the beef dish with my boyfriend. Everything was so delicious! This might be my favorite place I ate on my whole trip to California. Our table shared the portobello fries & the dynamite drumsticks, and my girlfriend got the avocado curry while I had the chicken Caesar wrap and some lentil soup. We also got some drinks - I had a mango green tea (iced) and it was delicious. The drumsticks were unbelievable. I cannot believe they're vegan. The texture and flavor is so similar to real meat and the dynamite sauce is DELICIOUS. 10/10! The portobello fries were great too (and all the food was super hot and fresh!) The avocado curry was great. She ordered it with quinoa and it paired great together. The curry was spicy but not too hot, and the serving sizes here are pretty generous so it was a filling meal. My chicken Caesar wrap was SO GOOD! And it had avocado in it! So creamy and delicious. A must try! And it was packed with chicken. The lentil soup was yummy too and I really enjoyed it. First experience with vegan food and I believe it has made me a fan! The Yelp reviews and photos of the food had me hook, line and sinker! I was so curious. I had to try the "chicken" drumsticks and the Portobello fries. I ended up also getting the fried tofu with peanut sauce. I really wanted to try their fried rice, but I was going overboard. Good Gravy! Everything was delicious! The fried tofu is nothing on its own, but with a sauce, it takes on a life of its own. I took all of the leftovers home to my family and got them to try it. It pains me to write this review as I really like the food at this restaurant. Tonight I changed up what I normally order and decided I was in the mood for something light and refreshing. I opted for the Magnum salad. When I picked it up it did feel super light and when I got home and opened it up I was very dissatisfied. Big pieces of kale, a few leave of spinach and lettuce and I actually counted the garbanzos. There were 5. There was a sprinkle of quinoa in the middle of the salad and a few cherry tomatoes, a few circle red onion, maybe 5 cubes of cucumber, 6 edamame and avocado. I know it sounds like a lot of ingredients but it was basically Kale, spinach and red onions. The dressing was the heaviest thing. I couldn't believe I just paid $14.23 plus tip for this pitiful salad. Unbelievable. I would expect this at a restaurant in Beverly Hills not in North Hollywood! read more

It pains me to write this review but after being loyal and frequent customers of Something Vegan for about 4 years and recommending them highly to friends and family - in addition to bringing many of them to eat there - our visit last night was extremely disappointing and I feel disrespectful. As my sister Annie and her fur baby Chanel entered the restaurant we were immediately told that Chanel could not eat inside and we had to sit outside where it was cold and the heat lamps were not even turned on. When we informed the waitress that Chanel is a service dog and she has dined inside at every other restaurant we've been to she went to consult with another employee and came back and told us she had to sit on the floor. She then left and never came back to see if we decided to dine outside or have Chanel sit on the floor inside. Never came back to bring water or asked us how we were doing. It was if we didn't exist. We sat there waiting and maybe 10-15 minutes later a waiter came by and asked us if we wanted to order. I told him that we would order when Annie came out of the restroom where she had gone to wash her hands and he said fine and then left. She immediately came out of the bathroom and we sat another 10 minutes for him to come back. Again no one came back and at this point we were feeling like we were being purposely ignored. So we left and as we did no one apologized for anything and we felt invisible. BTW the restaurant was not busy at all during this whole ordeal. There was maybe 2 other diners during the whole time we were in there. They did have some pick ups though. But there's no excuse for treating customers who want to spend their hard earned money like dirt. Once we were outside the restaurant we saw the waiter immediately go to our now vacant table and pick up the menus and wipe the tables. It's obvious they do not want our business - but no problem - there are plenty of other vegan restaurants out there that we can go to. Like I said it's especially disappointing considering we have always previously enjoyed coming here. I will no longer recommend this place and in fact will tell people NOT to go there !
