I like it alot here but today the food was off for some reason. The food is usually very close to aithentic but in a fast food sense. But mainly im reffering to the sides. The rice and beans are usually really fresh but today it didn't seem that way. The rice which is usually really soft came a bit like the rice still needed cooking. And the beans had a bit of an after taste. I'm a big fan of this place and its Valley locations but today wasnt up to what they serve. Hopefully next time. read more

Employees are your front to your business. Server with the ponytail today blew us out. We only get an hour for lunch and when we noticed out food was taking nearly 30 minutes to come out we mentioned something to her. She replied with a smart a$$ smile and walking away..."carne asada takes longer". She could careless about our time. We chose to give our business to you. We are the customers here not the other way around. Apologize and check on our order for us. Be sensitive to our time...we just paid $26 for two for lunch. We have been eating here nearly ever week for over 5 years. POOR customer service has run us off. BTW, roughly $25 for lunch is a bit expensive and to have been treated like this, we can't continue with you. Came here to get some highly reviewed Mexican food and was given super bland, mediocre food. We ordered and paid and then the manager told us that someone had just ordered a fiesta pack so we would have to wait another 15-20 minutes, after we paid! Was not impressed and would not come back here, the food was flavorless and the service was very poor. read more

This was one of my favorite spots in Phoenix, and I was so happy when the Flagstaff location opened. The pollo fundido is by far my most favorite item - though I like substituting shredded beef for the chunks of chicken. The jalapeño cream cheese really makes this extra special and delicious. Their shredded beef taco salads and cheese crisps are also very tasty. This is definitely a great spot if you'd like decently authentic Mexican food at a good price. Worst Mexican food I have in quite sometime. The Chicken Taquitos were tiny and bland, the rice that was included on the side was terrible, not even as good as Spanish rice found in a T.V. Dinner. My friend had a Beef burrito, called a burro which was boiled beef in a tortilla. It tasted like salt and jalapeño. The only bright spot was the guacamole. The To-Go order did not include utensils, so I went back to get them from an ungloved teenager. Piss poor. read more

My experience at Someburros in Flagstaff has always been outstanding. The tacos are the best and the service is always very good. I came here with a few of my classmates to support a fundraiser by a group from our clinic on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. I ordered their combo beef taco and green tamale plate with rice and beans. Our orders came with complimentary chips and salsa. I thought the chips were a bit on the stale side, but the salsa made up for it with a spicy kick. There was a ton of cheese and sauce slathered all over my plate, which thankfully enhanced the flavor of the rather bland tamale as well as the taco, which I thought was too dry and crispy. The beans were unfortunately too soggy for me, and the rice was a little too dry. Overall, it wasn't a satisfying meal, but it was worth it for the fundraiser. Can I give even fewer stars? At Someburro's grand opening, they offered "free burritos for a year to the first 100 people in the door!" I waited in line. I was within the first 100! Come to find out that "free burritos for a year" meant "a punch card labeled by month which allows you 1 free burrito each month and restricts which burritos you can get." WTF? That was my first impression of them, and I wasn't impressed. My impression only got worse once I started getting my free burritos ... At their very best, the burritos I ordered were "fine". After trying 10 burritos, I didn't even bother going in for numbers 11 and 12 (and I am SERIOUS about free food...). I think that speaks for itself. There's a TON of good Mexican food in Flagstaff. My friends and I stopped by for dinner tonight. I am a vegetarian, and have been for years due to health restrictions because my stomach has issues with digesting meat. I asked the employee if they knew whether or not the beans were vegetarian friendly because I have been made aware that some bean styles contain lard or chunks of meat. However, the employee was unaware of what I was asking and we agreed upon a burrito with rice and veggies. I was saddened to find that my supposed vegetarian friendly burrito was a steak and bean burrito. Pay at the counter and sit down for your food joint. Don't mistake it for your average mom and pop Mexican joint. But the food is good. Taco salad is a plentiful portion and pleasing on the tastebuds. I always get my cilantro lime dressing on the side. Ugh really Horrible. The food is just really low quality meat, no flavor, tastes cheap. We asked for my son's rice and beans on the side. It came out with beans practically coating the enchiladas. And we realized we didn't get sour cream, and the server said he would bring us some but he never did. After waiting 5-7 minutes and seeing him just hanging out through the window I sent my son inside to get the SC. When I saw the server later I asked what happened. He said his manager told him SC costs $1.25. OK fine I'll pay, but can you come out and tell us?! We were waiting to eat because you said you would bring us sour cream. THe whole place is a disaster, food is bad, brain dead employees... I've never been here before but I won't go back. Not sure if flag has a cafe rio, but their fast food Mexican is much better!
