**July 2026: Tuesday and Wednesday Morning**…read more I usually make it a point to try new places when I travel, so the fact that I ate at Forêt FLG twice in the same trip should say everything about how much I enjoyed it. I was initially drawn in after hearing that Chef Sam Greenhalgh was a semifinalist for the 2024 James Beard Award (Best Chef: Southwest), and I was curious to try his food for myself. On my first visit, my friend and I ordered the Canelés de Bordeaux, Pain au Chocolat, Soft Scrambled Egg Plate, and Breakfast Burrito. We came back again for breakfast and tried the scrambled eggs toast and a savory waffle. Everything we had was delicious, but the Soft Scrambled Egg Plate was truly something special. The eggs were unbelievably light and fluffy, paired with perfectly buttered, toasted bread that somehow felt magical in its simplicity. The heirloom tomatoes and creamy avocado added such a fresh, balanced touch. It's a simple dish, but the execution was exceptional--and honestly, that's what makes it so memorable. I know it sounds a little crazy to return twice for something so simple, but it was just that well done. The breakfast burrito was a strong second favorite. We took it to go as we continued our road trip toward the Four Corners Monument, and it held up really well. It was packed with flavor, and I especially loved that the tortilla had a nice crisp to it. The pastries were also excellent--flaky, buttery, and everything you'd hope for--but for me, that scrambled egg plate is the standout and something I would come back for again and again.

We had a standard queen room both times and it's spacious, bathroom has two sinks one in and one out so yconvenient for two people sharing. The pool is a roundish shape but large enough to swim some laps when there aren't a lot of children there. There are four 2 level inter connected buildings and #4 being the furthest away from the lobby - you can park your car (parking is free) close to any building but it's a bit of a walk on foot. Location is a bit out of town not walking distance to downtown Flagstaff. Rating it a 3 star due to service. On a day when they don't seem to be full they still wouldn't accommodate a late check out by just an hour (at noon instead of 11 am) which I didn't think would have made any difference to them but would have made a huge one for us. Then there is the breakfast. Nice dining room and all, but service was slow and the food came lukewarm, this at a time when it was early and hardly anyone in the dining room. And in addition to that, I had tea and it came in a tea pot with one weak tea bag, and as I like my tea strong I asked for another tea bag in the same pot and was told I'd be charged a second pot of tea ($5). This kind of stinginess just doesn't befit the seeming stature of such a hotel. And finally, the teacup they gave me had a long crack in it - I discovered it when i saw the saucer filing up with tea and didn't think I spilled any in it. The crack was old and stained, not a new one, so it was shocking that no staff had noticed it for this long and cared enough to not continue using it. Let's just say I'd never encountered broken cups like this in lesser priced motels. For this trip to Flagstaff I also had a two-night stay in another hotel downtown and other than the swimming pool, it was much better value and more comfortable with more helpful staff - and no broken tea cups!

For the kids I especially appreciated the extensive mix and match ala carte options. It is absolutely one of those nostalgic vegan cafes like I frequented in college I won't say how many years ago - whole foods from scratch cooking, a little under salted (they have salt on the table if you prefer restaurant level salting), great use of spices for flavor, nothing trendy just wholesome reliably good food. We had the tamales (both lunch and breakfast plates), classic French toast, fruit cup, sausages, steamed greens, cheesecake, peanut butter chip cookie, and brownie. Loved it all, the scrambled tofu was a surprise hit with the whole crew, pinto beans are cooked from dried with a great creamy consistency, the warm spice in the French toast made it appealing to the grown ups without being "too spicy" for the kids. Home fries were another surprise hit with crispy exterior and fluffy interior on each piece. Desserts were very good - the blueberry cheesecake and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies were the favorites. The tamales were very good but on the smaller side, if you're here for the tamales definitely opt into the small upcharge for a second tamale. As a Senior at NAU originating from Chandler, AZ, one of the things I've truly missed about Phx was Someburros. Flagstaff has always had some quality mexican food, but none particularly "cheap and cheerful". Many of the other mexican restaurants in Flagstaff that have quality food, are sit-down and much more expensive. Someburros is an excellent addition to the Flagstaff mexican scene. With quick service, and quality food at an affordable price, it adds a middle ground that Flagstaff was missing, too bad it's taken this long! The burritos are quite plain to start off, however most people don't know that you can easily add any vegetable or sauce to them in a "Chipotle" styled setting. They start off at about 4 bucks, and even when I add everything I want to it it's still under 9 dollars. Similarly with monthly (sometimes weekly) deals and specials that are advertised on their Facebook page and Snapchat app, it gets even cheaper! My personal favorites are the Carne Asada burro (no beans, sub sour cream or jalapeno cream cheese), the Crudo Burro with added sour cream and avocado, or the tried and true #1 Combo (Taco, Cheese Enchilada with Rice and Beans)! The Red enchilada sauce just can't be beat (Sorry Cafe Ole) The food is very comparable (if not better than most) of Flagstaff's mexican food offerings, at (in most instances) a cheaper price. It's definitely a unique restaurant, and has differed itself. However one of the best aspects about Someburros is its close proximity to NAU Campus. I don't own a car, and wrangling a ride to go grab food can be a challenge, and having Someburros close enough to easily walk to and from in a reasonable amount of time makes it even more appealing. read more

As a true lover of Mexican food, I always look forward to trying new places. If a restaurant doesn't meet my expectations, I believe in leaving honest feedback. This was my first visit to Someburros, and unfortunately, it fell short. I ordered a burrito, expecting a burst of authentic flavors, but it was bland and lacked any distinctive taste. The dish included a few shreds of lettuce and three small pieces of diced tomatoes, which did nothing to elevate the experience. However, I have to give credit where it's due: the salsa that accompanied the chips was excellent. It had a fresh, vibrant flavor that really stood out. On a positive note, the customer service was outstanding. I was greeted with a warm smile, and the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my visit. While the food didn't impress me this time, the excellent service and delicious salsa might bring me back to give them another try. read more

I decided to take a day trip to Flagstaff to clear my head and take a step back from my demanding work schedule. When I arrived I was STARVING, i'm not familiar with the Flagstaff area so I did not know where to go. I came upon Someburros and ever since my life has completely changed. Walking in, I had my head held low, emotionally at my breaking point. Zach immediately noticed and sparked a conversation. He told me how much he loves Flagstaff and how amazing their food is at someburros. My mood immediately shifted and I can't lie but this was the best burrito I have ever had! Even after living in the valley for over 15 years, I never tried Someburros until they moved up to Flagstaff. Everything I have tried so far is delicious, and even the free chips and salsa are good. The salsa is a bit spicy for those with a weak tongue, so maybe ask for the mild instead. The servers are polite and willing to fix any problem you may have with your food. Although I haven't had any problems, they only put 3 slices of avocado on top of a friend of mine's salad last time so she asked for more. As far as entrees go, there is a huge menu with lots of different options. I've eaten here multiple times and would recommend the Chicken Avocado salad, Carne Asada burrito, or Carne Asada fries. read more

On balance it is the perfect restaurant for me. To wit: -It's Mexican, which is the greatest of all food. -Chips and Salsa at my pace, not when the waiter bothers to come back by (I can just walk up to the counter and get more? That's crazy talk!) -Soda refill at my pace too? No more pacing my Coke Zero consumption so that it's not too full so the waiter ignores it but not too empty that it runs out before he/she does notice it. -The price is right, which helps ensure the pace of my wallet getting thinner is out done by the pace of my waist getting thicker. -The food is pretty good - it meets my critical "that will work" standard. Maybe I've had better, but there is no doubt I've had worse. read more

I stopped into Someburros last Wed when we were visiting NAU. I wanted a bean burrito and asked if the beans had lard in them and was told yes. I decided to order a small salad instead when a cook named Zach over heard and said for me to get the veggie burrito and he made make it with the nana's beans which do not have lard. I thought that was so nice because I would have just ordered a small salad but ended up with this DELICIOUS huge burrito. Our family will definitely be back. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. However, just like most restaurants once they have been in business for awhile they start to skimp on their portion sizes.
