Came here to try for the first time the other day. I had the 2 enchiladas, rice, and beans combo plate. The enchiladas were pretty good along with the other food. Was disappointed that there was no drink included with the combo. The prices were not the best either when you can go to the east side and pay less while getting more. I will be back here for convenience but that would be about it. read more

I went to visit Someburros while exploring AZ and the Ryan was the one person who stood out to me during my visit at the restaurant. She was patient and kind as I am picky and offered me a few options for choose from and recommended the Pollo Fundido. It was great. What was more great was the customer service offered by Ryan. Bland Bland Bland. Nothing special here for sure. I think the college kids and those who don't know Mexican food will like it, but I didn't care for the food. The atmosphere is nice, good Mexican music in the background and it is nicely decorated and very clean. But atmosphere and cleanliness can't help if the food is subpar. My husband had a chicken burrito with green sauce (which was an extra $1.15) when he got it there was about a 1/4 cup of cheese melted on top and a teaspoon of green sauce. When I went to the counter to complain the clerk told me it must have soaked up in the rice. I told him it hadn't and he asked the kitchen for more. In a way we were sorry we made an issue because the green sauce was more like a floury gravy with some canned green chiles in it. If you think Bell Peppers are spicy and like a raw flour taste in your gravy this is the sauce for you. I had the 3 chimichanga plate and was also disappointed. I had it with red chile, green chile, and machaca...they were indistinguishable between the 3 chimis and what little meat (maybe a tablespoon at best) was in them was bland. The tortilla was crisp and fried nice and the guacamole was fine, but tortilla and guac should not be the star of a chimichanga dish. The only thing I somewhat liked were the rice and beans, they had a nice flavor. I wanted to like them because I remember the parent restaurant Poncho's in south Phoenix being pretty good back in the day. This, sadly, is a commissary version of the original. read more

I'm really disappointed that I paid for food from this restaurant. The girl behind the counter was surly and unhelpful. The chicken burrito I ordered was lukewarm at best. My son ordered some sort of burrito that arrived cold to the table. It was basically a flour tortilla slathered in cold green sauce with a little bit of cold gravy inside. Disgusting food. read more

I try to be very fair with my reviews. If i visit an establishment that has bad food or bad service, i try to give them the benefit of the doubt that this sort of thing just happens once or rarely. But when i revisit a place time and time again and their food is constantly repulsive and they screw up my order every time in addition to not giving me what I ordered, im forced to give them 1 star and thats what someburros has forced me to do. We used to come here about twice a week, but have stopped since after the new manager came in and the normal friendly staff have mostly left. They used to sponsor discount cards that made the price worth it, but they stopped about a year ago or so and it just isn't worth the price anymore. Two adults with sodas and one kids meal used to be about 18 after discounts (school discount card, refill prices on soda), but now the same meal is over 30 and they insist you buy thier refill cheap plastic cup that is over $10. For that we now often go other places. read more

I decided to try Someburros despite the mixed reviews, I wish I didn't. We ordered a total of 8 tacos and they were probably the worst tacos I've ever had. My main issue was the chicken, it has absolutely no flavor or seasoning. They were hard shelled tacos, which is perfectly fine but it tasted as though the shells were stale. Living in Flagstaff it's rare that you come across a Mexican Restaurant that not only serves you authentic food but also has a great staff and is very clean. I've eaten at Someburros a few times and it never seems to disappoint me. They have tons of different meals for you to choose from including a breakfast menu that is served ALL day. Worst food I've ever had. Their chicken seriously has the texture and taste of canned tuna wish I could get my money back.

Ordered vegan meals (simple bean tacos) and were served complimentary chips and salsa. Later learned that everything including chips is fried in LARD. Disgusting and completely unacceptable. The tacos were fair. Plain and less exciting than something we could make at home. One star for beer on draft. We don't plan to return. read more

Order took about 5 minutes to be completed, so it could definitely be a convenient to-go place if you need it to be. Service was efficient and friendly. Food was fine. Fun and casual joint just down the street from NAU. I like the smaller, mom and pop Mexican places better, but Someburros is definitely my go-to in town for Mexican food catering. The atmosphere is really fun and almost cartoonish, which makes it great for kids. read more

They have $2 taco Tuesday, the ground beef + potatoes ones are good! The tacos come in hard shell instead of soft tortillas. The price is pretty affordable, you can get a lot of food with under $10. They also give you free chips and salsa. The salsa isn't the best. The seating is nice and clean. The chorizo, egg, potatoes burro is pretty spicy. read more

The best way to describe this place is good food fast. You go to the counter and order from the menu boards then you take your seat. They bring the food to you. it's hot and tasty. I had the machaca chimichanga with green sauce. Very tasty with a bit of bite but not too hot. Food is served on ten inch plate or a large platter and the portions are large. The guacamole is so-so, but to be honest I haven't found a restaurant that makes it as good as my wife's anyway. The staff is friendly and checks back to make sure everything is alright. A cheap place to eat, the place is 2nd amendment friendly. They food ain't bad, the atmosphere is lively and the people at the counter are friendly and patient.
