I'll start by saying this is the body shop for a more discerning customer who actually understands…read morethat complexities of matching paint and wants things done properly, not quick and cheap. D&V has been the go to shop for my fleet of work trucks as well as my multiple project vehicles over the years and I have nothing but good things to say about their attention to detail and integrity. The most recent project they completed for me was a complete repaint of my 1991 Nissan Skyline in which they replaced the left rear quarter panel, both rocker panels and addressed various other locations in which rust had started to spread. It took right around a year which was to be expected for a project of this scope and my car looks incredible. Every panel was properly stripped, prepped and painted. The finish is consistent across the entire body, even the engine bay and trunk. The entire time my car was there the whole team was very communicative and kept me in the loop anytime they encountered something that required my opinion or additional parts/labor. There isn't another shop in the DMV that I'd trust my projects to.

As a returning customer, I can say the work and service have massively deteriorated. Only thing…read morethat went up is the price. Charged me over 1100 to paint two small trim pieces and paste onto the doors. Wanted 550 upfront. Sent me the bill on Friday, and by Monday morning gave me the "payment overdue" notice. I should've stopped there. But went for it due to past experiences. The car came out worse than it went in. Paint had tiny dents along the edges, most likely due to poor prep. They can't seem to find the door's edge for a simple alignment. One side gap was so large I can put my hand into it. Even worse? Someone decided to spray tire shine as part of the clean up, but didn't bother to properly apply to the tires. They just sprayed a few spots on the tires and let it drip. So the oil and grease in the tire shine flowed unto all four wheels. My wheels are anodized, so the grease permanently tarnished the wheels, leaving them with unsightly streaks that can't be washed off. And believe me, I tried. Bottom line: overpriced mediocre work and overall lack of care that caused more problems than solutions. Hopefully you'll have more luck, but I'm done with them. Very disappointed that it has to come to this, but this is not the shop I used to know.

I have ended up with substandard repair and a damaged bumper and over $600 of additional expense which I had to cough up. In addition to the insurance reimbursement. From the moment I walked in to drop off my car for an estimate, she seemed visibly annoyed to help me. She took the intake sheet, crumpled it into a ball in front of me, and acted as if my presence was an inconvenience. I remained polite throughout the interaction, but ultimately decided to take my business elsewhere. When I informed her of this, she dismissively said "Okay, bye." When I pointed out how rude she was being, her response was a sarcastic "Thank you!" It's disheartening to think this is the kind of customer service State Farm refers people to. I strongly urge management or ownership to take a hard look at who is representing your business at the front desk. A toxic front-end experience is enough to drive customers away before any actual work is done. Trust your gut when you walk into a place--this one felt like a factory of unhappy people. Carol (or "Karen," as some might call her) might be better suited to a role that doesn't involve working with the public.
