My wife and I have been wanting to make out back yard nicer for a couple months and we recently had the opportunity to utilize this company. They had done our friend's back yard and I was really impressed by the quality of the work. They were super responsive in coming out to our house to measure the area, show us the paver options and schedule us. They were able to knock out in a day a patio that was 12x20 and it looks excellent. The price was fair/reasonable and there was a clear understanding of the prep work going into the site. Can't go wrong with these people! read more

Maicon of Solo Pavers was very responsive. He came out to our house, measured, talked to us about options, and gave us a very competitive estimate a day or two after our meeting. We would have gone with Solo Pavers but, unfortunately, we had conflicting schedules. But we give Solo Pavers an A+ on the front end, helping us decide what we wanted/needed for replacing our driveway. read more

Amazing. The best. Professional, invested, thoughtful. What else to say? Just hire them.

I can't recommend Maicon and his team more highly. I had a 2,000 square foot driveway replacement project that included tough access, tree removal, scheduling difficulties and a demanding neighbor. Maicon took all the twists and turns in stride and delivered an eye-poppingly gorgeous project. My neighbors keep stopping bye to rave about the huge curb appeal improvement since we installed paving stones in our driveway, backyard, car park and walkway. For such an expensive project, finding a contractor that you trust and will flex to your changing preferences as a job progresses is incredibly important. Maicon as the owner and Will as the super on the job kept up informed and at ease throughout the week of construction. Solo pavers did an excellent job on paving our backyard. I love the final product. Maicon and his crew were very professional and proficient. They tore out the old yard, trees, and existing concrete. Maicon was clear about product and price. His crew worked nonstop on some very hot days. They were finished in 4 days. We are enjoying our new backyard that is now an awesome outdoor living space for the whole family. 5 stars read more

We were interested in replacing our asphalt driveway which was old and cracked. We got multiple quotes for different options and decided to go with these guys. We are very, very happy with Solo Pavers Expert. They were very fast and efficient and cleaned up each day. I had expected the job to last two weeks, but with 6 guys working and lots of heavy equipment they were done in 4 days. All work was done with a permit. They did a fantastic job. I think we have the best looking driveway in the neighborhood. Highly recommend these guys- read more

Maicon and his crew finished our retaining wall this morning. It is incredibly beautiful and looks great. We are extremely happy with the wall. Almost more important to me was their work ethic. They had about 25 years worth of hedges, bushes and old railroad ties to remove before they could start working on the wall. They not only cut them down and hauled them away, they even raked and cleaned up all the debris and leaves. Then they started on the wall. The crew all worked as a team, very professional. When the crew left, our back yard was completely cleaned up and actually looked better than when they started! I appreciated the text messages Maicon sent letting me know when he or the crew would arrive. We would definitely recommend using this company. Thanks guys read more

Solo performed beyond my grandmother's expectations. The workmanship was excellent and Maicon was incredibly accommodating. Her neighbors constantly tell her how good her new paving looks. The crew was always timely and Maicon made sure to clean up every bit of concrete and dirt/sand left afterwards. You never would have known a construction crew was there. Solo's paving job was worth every penny! read more

We had a great experience with Maicon and his crew. They were punctual and efficient. We really thought the quality was top notch! Hello, I am not the type of person to usually write reviews online about a business. But I do believe in giving credit to where credit is due. I am also not in any way paid to write this review, or a friend or a family member to post something nice about a business...just because I know them. I am sharing my personal reviews based solely and honestly of what I think as a client. I first contacted Maicon Cruz with Solo Pavers Expert, Inc. to stop by my home to give me a "solid firm total" quote to install pavers for my backyard. Not having to go over my budget or having to be charged way more than I agreed to after my home improvement project gets done. I was aware he was the only paver contractor with all Five Stars ***** reviews on Yelp.com posted by many reviewers online from his 115 previous clients. So, I felt more assured in his company's reputation. At my first meeting with Maicon, he told me he isn't cheap. I actually respect hearing that from him when he told me his services aren't cheap. I responded to him that I am not looking for a contractor that is cheap. But, I want to hire the Best-of-the-Best because I am expecting honest quality work and not something cheap for my home. I informed him I will want perfection in the job done and for everything to be done the right way with no shortcuts. It definitely wasn't cheap, but the investment in your own home is worth every penny and improves the value of our home for a lifetime. I also informed Maicon that I would like to fix up my backyard for my kids. It would mean the world to me to provide a safe place in my backyard for my kids to safely play; and allow them to have plenty of room to run around outside. Also, not having to worry about any vehicles driving by like our front yard. I wanted to maximize every square footage of my backyard to utilize every inch to enjoy the openness of being outdoors but still at home. Maicon and his crew have done an excellent job to help my wife and I to finally enjoy our backyard after many years of having a backyard full of dirt, small rocks, and weeds growing crazy out of control every spring time. Maicon's crew are very thorough and have a good attention to detail in their workmanship. His crew were always on time to start working, professional, cleaned up afterwards, and friendly to talk with while they diligently worked very hard...day after day to get the job done on time and done right. My advice is to be kind to those who help you fix up your home. I suggest feeding them with good food for their hard work. They exceeded my expectations and I am glad to refer their exceptional service to my neighbors. Sincerely, thank you Maicon for delivering on your words to help us improve our backyard and your staffs' action (hard work) says it all. Just Another Happy 5-Star Client, Rick and Judie read more

Maicon and his crew did a fantastic job installing a new paver path to my front porch. We had a medium size area in our side yard that we wanted to make more usable. After deciding on pavers I proceeded to meet with about 8 different landscaping companies. Prices ranged quite substantially. After meeting with Macon, his professionalism and expertise really impressed me. He also moved some irrigation lines and electrical lines that were already In ground. Him and his crew are very good, extremely fast and I would highly recommend them. Last but not least Macon had the most competitive rate of everyone I met with. We are super happy read more

This review is long overdue. I have high praise for Solo Pavers. He stuck to his price and stood behind his workers. The crews had been with him for years and they were really competent. The work began on the exact day that was promised and completed within the two week window, as promised. All of this during the heat of the mid-July summer heat. Everyone had a great attitude and the patio and steps look great. I do not hesitate to recommend Solo Pavers. read more

Maicon and his team did a great job with our backyard. We originally had a lot of old brick pavers and other pavers that were sinking/not level, and the ground itself was sloped towards the house, so the dirt needed to be re-graded. Maicon's team re-graded the dirt so that it was nice and level, and then put the pavers in and did a great job! They also took care to repair any broken or damaged sprinklers and made sure they weren't leaking before they installed the new pavers. We're very pleased with their work and we would recommend them to anyone looking to re-do their yard or install pavers. read more

Solo Pavers has a dream team!! Let me tell you, I am a very picky person and had 5+ quotes completed and met about 5 of those contractors in person. Maicon was the most professional, patient and informative contractor we met. I immediately knew, he was the clear choice. He is very upfront, will give you suggestions and give you a very fair price estimate. His confidence in his workmanship is unmatched. His team was on time, considerate, and very thorough. I can't emphasize enough how picky I am and how happy I am that I went with this company. No brainer decision - you can't go wrong. Not to mention, the team turned my backyard around in 3 days when most other contractors were estimating 2 weeks. They also laid out pipes for electrical work and the water system. And started a few weeks earlier than they estimated. I have already referred my neighbors and will refer any friends or family to go with this company! Very pleased and excited to start using our backyard. read more

A long overdue review. Maicon said his crews would start the demo of our 1975 patio on July 15th and that it would take 8-10 days to complete. He was right on time with his crew and equipment the morning of July 15th and they were done the following week. It was oh so hot, and his crews worked well together and were so nice to us in the process. I love our new patio and it is exactly what I had envisioned. As a long time realtor, I have seen many levels of workmanship and I respect people who do what they say they will do. Maicon (Solo Pavers) stand behind their workers and their work. Maicon and his crew did an incredible job transforming our San Francisco backyard into a beautiful new patio space. If you're looking for patio pavers I'll save you some legwork: Just hire Solo Pavers. Like, now. Some things that made working with this team truly wonderful: - Of the six different companies I inquired with about this job, Solo Pavers consistently got back to me fastest. Super communicative, clear, always showed up on time. - Their quote was competitive, and they worked with me to achieve something within my budget (but it looks like I spent much more!) Plus, Maicon was able to answer all my questions, offer helpful opinions and work arounds, and even future-proofed potential drainage issues by installing some drainage piping that I can extend to my garage if needed. - They were able to start work earlier than anticipated and finished the work significantly ahead of schedule. - The whole team were super friendly, highly professional, and honestly a pleasure to have on site. - The end product is FANTASTIC. I just finished having the outside stairs redone and it left me with a backyard with wildly varying elevations, an old cracked concrete patio, and some ugly concrete stair foundations. The Solo Pavers team performed some sort of witchcraft to get this all even, and I now have a huge, beautiful space for entertaining and container gardening. I'm relaxed just looking at it, the quality of life (and improvement to property value) is huge. Hire this team, you won't regret it! read more

I had a different paving company do a small project and they were ... not good. What a different experience with Solo! Based on my bad experience, I had a list of question for Maicon--and he had all the right answers. The job was done beautifully and there was no sign of them when they were gone, except, of course, for my beautiful garden. I could not be happier. FYI, here's what you should ask anyone you're considering: Q: Will there be a foreman onsite? Wrong: He'll be managing several jobs. Call or text him if you have questions. Right: Yes, he'll be there throughout the job. Q: Can I communicate with the foreman using a shared language? Wrong: He speaks X language. If you don't, call the office for translation. Right: He speaks Y, one of the languages you speak. Q: How will you cut the pavers? Wrong: Using a concrete saw, sending up plumes of dust into your yard and the neighbors'. Right: Using a concrete saw with water to minimize dust. Q: Where will you cut the pavers? Wrong: In an open space in your yard. Right: In an open space in your yard, on a tarp, with another tarp to protect nearby plants. Q: How will you wash your tools, especially concrete tools? Wrong: In a bucket. Then, we'll throw the water into an inconspicuous area of your yard. Right: In our truck, or back at the shop. Q: Does anyone on the crew smoke? If so, how will he dispose of his butts? Wrong: He'll put out his butts on the sidewalk or in the street gutter. Right: No one on our crew smokes. read more

I grew weary of dealing with contractors that were clearly gouging me when I found Solo Expert Pavers. I was flabbergasted by the price and the service. Once we signed the contract- the job began 4 days later and was completed at the same pace. His workers arrived by 8am every morning and left at 6pm. They were respectful of my property and my my neighbors. I loved the beautification of my property. My pool is showcased and was truly beautiful. Their excellence transformed my 1960 paved patio which was a mixture of brick/cement and decayed wood-into a modern patio that increased the quality of my life and enhanced the value of my property. What a wonderful work this would be if every contractor had the work ethic and great value of Maicon and his workers. You will be happy to write that check. read more

After getting a few bids and feeling like we were leaning towards Solo Pavers, it was these reviews that pushed me to sign. I'm SO GLAD we did! Maicon was thoughtful, responsive, honest, and informative. He worked with our ideas and made sure we got what we wanted. I feel great about the construction experience (shocking!) and even greater about our awesome looking driveway and sidewalk. This was a big project for us, these things are not cheap, so a lot of thinking and discussion went into figuring out what we wanted. Maicon made sure the drainage was correct, that there were pipes under the pavers for both water lines and electrical, and that our house/water situation would be better than before. Also, a huge shout out for his team, these guys were incredible, fast, hardworking, and considerate. Ten stars! Hire these people. read more

Hi All, I have to give Maicon and his crew of Solo Pavers expert a full 5 stars. They provide a very professional service. First, they are good in communication, like they immediately let me know , when there was one week delay in Belgard Pavers availability. I got quotes from few others - The higher rated services all quoted far premium prices . The individual paver guys quoted low, but are very difficult to hold onto. I found Solo Pavers striking the balance. From start to finish, the crew worked diligently and without any slack. They were done in 5 days, for pavers around 1000 sq. ft including demolishing a couple of concrete slabs, excavating with a BobCat, grading, laying pipes and electrical lines, filling with base rock, putting in Geo guards/gopher guards and finally laying the pavers. They also cleaned up the work/front-road each day before they left. I used Belgard Lafit Grana slab in Aspen Color and Catalina Grana in Graphite color for border. Attached are some pictures. read more

Awesome company to work with! Maicon came out to show us some paver samples and I received a quote the next day. He was very responsive to all of my emails and texts regarding the process and contract information. We decided to go with Solo Pavers Expert and we are very happy we did. The process from start to finish was very seamless. The crew was incredibly hard working and answered any questions we had during the process. The result is a beautiful driveway and extended walkway. I got three quotes for my backyard hardscape that included removing an old, buckling wood deck and retaining wall on a steep backyard incline just above a recently plastered swimming pool. Solo Pavers was the best quote but Maicon (owner) was by far the easiest to talk to and took the time to really explain the job so that I would understand the cost and the scope. He was honest and forthright about all of my concerns. The finished job speaks for itself (see included photos) but what I can't show you is the respect the entire crew had for my home from front yard to backyard and including my barking dogs! I was able to talk and ask questions to crew leaders while they worked and if I had any concerns they quickly addressed them to my complete satisfaction. Today after they finished the final touches they washed off the entire hardscape including the old deck, power washed the STREET and my driveway where they had earlier staged gravel, dirt and the pavers as well as other supplies. Very impressive drainage system installed as part of the process! Highly recommended! read more

Well, with all the good reviews, there is no need for me to say much about this company. This company is worth every dime you spend on your project. Believe me! I am very details oriented. I do thorough research and write all specifications for all our projects. I make sure the contractors follow my specifications accordingly. Maicon is very easy to communicate and work with. I provided my specification (dimensions, materials, steps to install pavers down to inches) for my driveway to five different companies. Maicon came back with a quote that is not the cheapest nor the most expensive. But it is competitive. After carefully reviewing all the quotes and asking a lot of questions (such as how long does it take to complete? How many people will be working? Etc.), I decided to go with this company. Even though it is not the cheapest. Maicon assigned this project to a team of five. Maicon came and went over my specification with the team leader, Will. Will and his crew did an incredible job transforming my driveway from concrete into a beautiful pavers driveway. They finished the job in eight hours (8am-5pm). This is unbelievable. Other companies quoted 5 to 7 days to finish the job. I was there along the way with Will and his crew the whole time making sure they ever need anything or questions for me. They were able to get the job done in eight hours because they have all the right and heavy equipment for the job. No steps were skipped. Everything was done according to specifications. The result was beautiful. Our neighbors were amazed how beautiful my driveway is and how quick these guys can get it done. I ended up giving out Maicon's business card / information to at least five or more neighbors...can't remember exactly how many...:) read more

If you are trying to hire a team to do your pavers, do yourself a favor and contact Solo Pavers! They are all you need. When I first saw their 80 something 5 star reviews, I was a bit skeptical but as I got to know them more, I realized that they deserve 10 stars indeed. That coming from a hard to please detail oriented person is a huge compliment. Before hiring Maicon, I had interviewed around 10 contractors. Some never got back to me. Some had an overpriced quote. Some didn't seem as professional, or knowledgeable. Maicon had it all; fair price, friendly, and professional manner, good communication skills, and great customer service. Before signing a contract, he came over three times to patiently go over all the details. I had very specific design ideas for him to implement . He made some additional suggestions and talked me out of some of those ideas that he didn't think would work well. Seeing the final product I'm glad I listened to him. Maicon's team was also a team of really nice people. His foreman, Will, was very patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. He always had a smile on his face, was patient with my specific instructions , and did his job of leading the team really well . What impressed me the most was the team redoing an area in my front yard after realizing a miscommunication had happened about some implementation details. They did it without a single complaint, or a change of behavior. As another positive point, when they finished, they cleaned up very well after themselves and didn't leave a single trash behind. Something that doesn't always happen with contractors. In summary, great customer service, professionalism, high quality work and fair price is what you will get from Solo Pavers. I wish the best for this team, and will hire them again for my next project. read more

Maicon Cruz and his company are AMAZING, and I do not use that word easily. We had a severely broken concrete driveway, riddled with roots from an unfriendly neighbor's tree. We were afraid to repair the driveway since we didn't want to deal with him in a request to remove the tree. Maicon handled EVERYTHING! Noting that the tree was older and unlikely to throw out more roots, his crew removed the tons of old cement, dug down, installed a root barrier, and drainage system, and leveled the driveway with our garage (previously 2" higher than driveway.). Beautiful pavers were installed. And all of this took place while we were out of the country! We had had enough contact with Maicon to trust him to work in our absence. He was extremely conscientious from the start. He promised to go to Marin County to find out about building permit the next day. Instead, he did it the same day. Every step of the process was on time or early, and he kindly sent us photos so that we could see the (very quick) progress. He was respectful of our (nice) adjacent neighbors, always let them know when access to their home might be impeded, and always had a driver who could move a truck on a moment's notice. We had recently installed an electric gate. Maicon was worried that the track for it might be damaged by heavy trucks. So he had part of the track removed during construction. This gave us much anxiety - how could it be rewelded well enough to make the track smooth again? No need for our anxiety - his welders did a superb job! And all of this for a very reasonable price! And it looks beautiful! What a gorgeous upgrade to our old, broken cement! In short, this company performed way beyond expectations, for a very fair price. Every step was finished at or before projected time line. Maicon communicated clearly and honestly. I wish we had more work for him to do, but alas, we have but the one driveway! read more
