This is for those looking for a most excellent solar company that can do it all and do it in an above and beyond way. It's also for those that desire a review/reflection well after install and activation. My project included: 18 panels, new power panel, new roof (they oversaw and managed it all). My system was operational January 2024. There's a ton of positive to say about Solar Symphony and Billy Pierce (rep I worked with). Here's some highlights that mattered to me: - Billy Pierce is truly a genuine great person and equally an attentive, hard working, meticulous professional. Ask for him if you decide to go with Solar Symphony. You won't regret it. - The cost was very reasonable. They were not the lowest cost, not the highest cost, but instead were very fair and competitive and there was no crap cost or or other unexpected surprise cost, and no goofy excuses for not meeting estimates or expectations throughout the project. If something extra needed to be done it was very clear and made perfect logical sense. - Solar Symphony oversaw all permits, applications, interactions with SDGE, and all scheduling for everything: inspections, installs, meetings, system design; the whole gamut, and provided excellent regular updates from Billy and more so the project manager overseeing the project. - Very Important: When something seemed off, or quality issue, or timing, or any irritation occurred, which is reasonably normal for all projects, especially the size of mine, Solar Symphony was all over it and very happy to step right in to bring order, correction, or reasonable accommodation to the situation. Billy was sooo good for this. One example was with the roofing company they work with/recommended not cleaning up scrap metal and nails as well as I would have desired. Billy put in a call and the roofing folks were out there to make correction. By the way, the roofing company was really excellent too; I went with Protecta Roofing. - I paid one company, which was so nice; Solar Symphony was only company I paid, as they coordinated and handled billing/invoicing for their work, roofing, electrical panel upgrade...all of it. Again, so, so nice! I like to keep it simple and work with one company if possible. - Solar Symphony ensured I was clear on and able to easily identify my available tax credits, which was huge. - Post system activation: awesome follow-up from Billy and team to ensure expectations were met, or exceeded in many cases, and that I understood how to activate and monitor via the Enphase phone app, which is easy and convenient. The system has been meeting power production expectations and humming along just as described from the pre-sale discussions. So nice to be on perfectly working solar! I hope this is helpful, as I could truly go on about the great service and system performance but I need to go eat dinner...lol. It has been a year since Solar Symphony installed my solar and battery. My sales rep Billy has become a go-to resource even beyond my solar install for trusted contractor contacts. He is very responsive and I'm sure if I ever have any issues with my solar that I can rely on him. I hope he never leaves solar symphony! That being said, we have been incredibly happy with our solar, from price to installation and performance. We haven't had an electric bill more than $10 since we got it! The panels look slick and all the finish work on the battery was very clean. They even installed a car charger for us, which has been great. I cannot recommend this company. While they installed my system in 2018, and it was a very good experience I am not sure what happened since. Now I need service for an issue and the phone lines are jammed, they don't return calls or email to their service dept. and it's been weeks since I can get help on an issue with my system. When they do call they don't have the answers needed to set up a service call and are trying to overcharge ($1400 to install a less then $200 part). Service center calls are not answered in Escondido but in Mexico. I would suggest find a local company who can help when you have issues. read more

Thankfully, I got a call from solar Symphony and they came out about a month later, but I had been ghosted for about a month, with only one response to 4-5 emails. After working with Enphase, (the manufacturer, I was able to get a new part sent out, but installing it and getting it all set up was beyond my capabilities. At this point I had made arrangements with another local solar installer to install it, but finally heard from Solar Symphony. The tech was very pleasant and knowledgeable and had everything done in one afternoon, under warranty. read more

System seems to be working ok now, but there were significant issues along the way and I had to push them hard to get it done right. Fernando consistently said one thing, then did another. He said a tech would come out on a particular Friday afternoon, so my wife and I arranged to both be home so we could ask questions and learn how our system works. The tech suddenly showed up Friday morning when only I was home. He did a few things, then the system started reporting errors a couple of days later. This was the second tech who came out after install was done, and system still wasn't working. I finally called the main number and told them I could no longer work with Fernando, and that I needed an EXPERT to come out when my wife and I could both be home, fix the system, and show us how to use it. They did send an expert, and he quickly figured out that part of the system had been wired backwards and was non-functional! He rewired it, and the system production tripled. If I hadn't pushed so hard, we might have gone decades with only 1/3 of the production we should have been getting. I think we have a decent system now, but getting to this point took a tremendous amount of effort on my part. That should not have been the case. Solar Symphony should have proactively inspected the system and gotten it right without my intervention. They also don't have any techs (not even the expert who finally fixed the system) who know how to use and explain the app that customers use. They only know how to use the employee app. When we ask questions about how to use our app they simply don't know. I would not recommend Solar Symphony. read more

I received permission to operate my solar panel and Tesla battery, however experience issue with connecting to the Tesla network. I reach out to Tesla and attempted to troubleshoot the issue. They confirm there is an issue in which solar symphony needs to work direct with Tesla. I emailed Solar Symphony at least 5 time and received no response back. We also left messages via phone but this company has been unresponsive. I do not know what else to do since I am unable to get a hold of them. Solar Symphony installed solar panels with a battery a few years ago and a electric car charger late last year. The inverter unit failed a couple of weeks ago. They just replaced the inverter (all under warranty) and everything is working perfectly again. The replacement was done quickly and professionally and they communicated in a timely manner throughout the project. They will continue as my first call for all solar/battery/car charger needs. read more

Where do I start, sales guy lied about everything from city permits to monitoring and bragging how he built a system to 110% to 125% over what we needed. Solar Symphony is the worst solar company to work with. They sold us a system in 2021 with battery backup through a recommendation from Southern California Edison and when the company who made the App to monitor and control the system went bankrupt, Solar Symphony found no solution to fix the situation. We now have a solar system with no way to control the battery backup, (10K extra and isn't working) monitoring the system, or change the settings on the system. Solar Symphony has completely washed their hands from the problem with no solutions after leading us on for the last year with a supposedly fix. I would not recommend them for any solar solutions to your house. Buyer beware of this company! read more

Recently had Solar Symphony install a 17 panel 6.8kw solar system on my home. To say that we are extremely happy would be an understatement. My first contact with the company was with the owner Aaron. After our conversation, I knew Solar Symphony was going to be the right choice. Aaron set me up with his salesman Mark, who answered all my questions and built a system based on our needs. Unlike some of the competitors, there was no "high pressure" sales tactics and Mark didn't try to sell me on a massive system I didn't need. He made sure that we compared apples to apples when looking over the different quotes. For the system and product I chose, no other company was close...Solar Symphony beat them hands down. Once we finalized all the details, Solar Symphony's Senior Project Manager David handled the permits, scheduling of inspections and the install. Working along side of David was Chico who did the layout of our solar system. What he did was amazing. Most solar installs, I have seen, look like an afterthought with metal conduit running over rooflines, along eves and down exterior walls. Not mine!! Chico made sure the layout had everything ran through the attic and in the walls...there are no visible wires or metal conduit anywhere. The install team was equally impressive. This was one of the easiest to do projects on my list of honey-do-list. I had guided assistance from the project manager the whole way through the process. The process moved along really quick, but there were some delays. However, that was only due to the overwhelming applications submitted to SCE for approval due to the NEM 2.0 expiration. Solar Symphony was professional. They made the application submitting process easy, everything was done online. I have a 7.2kW system, about 18 panel installation. I was surprise how quickly that was installed all in one day. There were some hiccups during the installation, like a broken/cracked panel. But they quickly addressed and resolved the issue. I'm now about 3 months in with flipping the switch on for electric, and my bill is what was quoted in the proposal. So far, it is running great. read more

Just wanted to provide some good honest feedback and solar symphony as a company. I used the SoCal Edison marketplace to source a reputable solar panel company. Solar Symphony won the bid and through the SoCal Edison Rep, decided we would go with them. First I would like to say that this solar panel project was all paid for in cash by me, no loan or anything like that. From the very beginning of this project there were tons of hold ups and mistakes that kept delaying the project. Everything from lost permits to there is no permit for your EV car charger (even though they had knowledge of an ev charger before the project even started). What was suppose to take 6 months from start to finish ended up taking more than a year. We ended up having to remove our old working solar panels because they couldn't find a permit for it (we decided to do this to save time), then we had to pay for another permit for the EV charger. So after paying about 20K cash of about 32K project, I decided to stop paying until the project was complete an running. The so called manager Sinsi Carillo, worst point of contact ever. The lack of communication, i would have to call asking about updates. Then he would say "oh i was just about to call you, oh i was just about to email you" This is just the tip of the iceberg as to the shotty work this company does. After removing my old panels they tried leaving them in my backyard, I told them i have small children who play back there and that dangerous they said " we don't have orders to take them" i had to call once again to convince them to take old panels. Then their workers would leave tools, trash, bottles, all over my yard. I would call and ask them to please pick up after themselves. They would come to work with missing items and leave hours at a time to have to go "pick up items, tools, etc.) They mysteriously ran out of paint to color match the outside conduit pipes to the house. Till this day, there are random nails, zip ties, electrical parts that get washed off the roof when its windy or rains onto the ground. By far worst experience ever. I would not recommend this company to to worst enemy. Till this day they are crying over 12k that i still refuse to pay because of their lack of service, workmanship, and quality. Thus far, this company has honored the contractual warranty. It may have taken them 6-7 months to complete a service order but when completed, they did so without a service fee. This company may not be efficient but they operate with honor. I hope this company reaches their full potential in the Solar Industry while retaining thier top talent. read more

We have had their system since December 2014. Customer service is basically non existent - we've sent emails and left phone messages off and on over the past 3 years and absolutely no response. To start, Solar Symphony came highly recommended from a friend. I had done some basic solar panel research using EnergySage and also got some competing quotes from multiple companies (Solar Symphony was not one of the listed companies in EnergySage). However, after discussing with the very knowledgeable Mark, I decided to go with Solar Symphony. To be honest, Mark was the sole factor in choosing them. He is highly knowledgeable about varying products, very quick to respond to questions, and most importantly was honest and not pushy. Based on our needs, we went with a 17 Panasonic panel system with an integrated EV charger in the inverter for electric vehicle charging at home. The installation team did a fantastic job of putting it all together, and the project team in the background handled all of the paperwork to get SCE involved and approve its activation. 2 years later, we needed to expand the number of panels and went back to Solar Symphony. Do you want to hire a solar company that damages your roof during installation? Do you want a solar company that charges you to remove their solar panels so that you can repair your leaky roof caused by the solar company? Do you want to pay $10,000 for repairs when damages should be covered under the solar company's 20 year warranty? NOPE. Our solar company, SOLAR SYMPHONY, did not properly secure the roof tiles after installing the rack mounts, which caused the tiles to slip out of position and create large gaps allowing water to penetrate the underlayment. This resulted in a roof leak into our upstairs bathroom. SOLAR SYMPHONY is refusing to honor their warranty and cover the damages, even with expert opinions, documentation, videos and photos of the damages before and after panel removal. We had two separate, professional roofing contractors evaluate the damages and both determined the leaking roof was directly caused by improper panel installation. TR Construction repaired the damaged/leaking part of our roof, replaced 100 broken tiles and realigned our entire roof where the panels are attached. Thank you TR! We are very disappointed with SOLAR SYMPHONY's decision to not honor their warranty and we will be pursuing reimbursement through small claims court! Initially they were a decent company to work with back in 2017. Fast forward 7 years later when there's an issue with the inverter. They don't respond via email, they don't return phone calls. When you finally reach someone, they delay, delay, delay for months without doing anything. Every week I would call in and feel like I'm pestering them trying to get service (meanwhile producing 0 kwh). But when they 'fit' me into their schedule, they want to charge $350 to even come out and see what is wrong! Their website claims 20 year bumper-to-bumper warranty. That's a lie. They'll gladly sell you a solar system, but when it comes time to service that system, you're on your own. Buyer Beware. read more

Solar Symphony installed my solar system in June 2023. I'd give the installation a C since there was a problem on the first day of start up that I had to call about, but it was resolved pretty quickly. I paid cash for the system, and made payments to Solar Symphony exactly when they asked for them. My system incudes the Enphase monitoring app that recently began showing an error message that included contacting Solar Symphony for help. I first contacted them on May 23, and have contacted them 8 times since because although the "Customer Service Manager" said he would get back to me about setting up the Tech to come onsite and diagnose the problem, he never did so. I'm of course very sorry I ever chose this contractor to install my system - they have good reviews for installation, but poor service reviews, so make sure you check both if you are considering having them work on your system. read more

These guys were great when it comes to being on time and getting things built on time to get your money. However, when you have issues with your panels/roof, good luck getting a hold of them. I wish I didn't have to write this as I was very pleased with Solar Symphony initially. They installed a solar system on my house back in November of 2016 and it worked flawlessly the first 5 years. Then, in May of 2022, the bottom half of my panels stopped producing power. I lost half of my power production on and off (mostly off) from May until October while they repeatedly ignored my requests for them to come fix the issue. When they finally sent someone, it was incorrectly repaired the first time and I had to again wait for them to come out a second time. After talking to the technician and doing some research on my own, I discovered the system was initially wired on two strings when it needed to be on a single string. After five years of normal panel degradation, the voltage on the lower string had dropped below the minimum needed to keep the inverter operating properly. As a result, my bill during the true-up period in December was $500 more than the previous year, so I filed a claim under their power production warranty. They tried to claim it was due to shading from the trees behind my property, and denied my claim, but if that was the case then I should still have the issue, which I do not. So if you are considering getting solar from them, keep in mind that it will be difficult at best to get them to fix any issues and their power production warranty is basically worthless. read more

Solar Symphony was referred to me by my pool contractor Tom Ethans (I also wrote a review of his company). I called Tom for a question about my pool pump, happened to mention that I was getting solar bids and he recommended that I give Solar Symphony a call. Tom said Solar Symphony was installing the system at his house. I ended up connecting with Mark Nelson of Solar Symphony. Mark was great to deal with. He was very reachable and responsive to all my questions, no hard sell -- but simply provided me the information I felt I needed to make a decision that I can be happy with. His quote was better than two other bids that I was seriously considering. I was able to reach two of the client references Mark gave, and the references had great feedback (and one taught me a couple of things to consider, too, with regards to my project and contractor selection) Once I signed the contract, the office -- Paula and Summeur -- informed me throughout on the status of my project. My questions were addressed timely and to my satisfaction. They ran into issues getting the permit and the plans approved by my city. That part of the process took longer than I expected, but then again, I know my city can be picky based on prior work done at my house. Then actual installation began. Henry was the project manager --- he's awesome! Again, another Solar Symphony personnel who made me feel well taken cared off. He even tried to help me troubleshoot an unrelated electrical issue at my house while waiting for the City Inspector to come instead of just waiting and doing nothing. It rained while they were doing the installation and it was cold. Yet, they finished in the time period they estimated before rain began, i.e., three days. They are now helping me with net metering with the SCE. I'm very happy with my experience with Solar Symphony and I would strongly recommend anyone looking into solar to not make a decision without first talking to them. read more

Their ad said 7.6kW for net $14,646 (the net is the small print that means after 26% tax credit) Anyhow before Tax credit it should be $19,791 They told me that my ground mount system will be 23K (LG or Q-CELL panels + Enphase micro invertors) Here is the dishonesty, I got an official quote for $23,360 1- The quote came out 300 watts less 2- Lowest possible grade Chinese panels (Jinko !!) 3- Its already 4K more than roof mount. but yet they came back and said they didn't have the trenching cost included in the quote!!!!! . (so why the extra 4K?) Bait and switch??? I find them just DISHONEST and GREEDY so be careful. read more
