They sent Travis out promptly, who is their electrician where he found that the issue was resolved by replacing a faulty 40-amp breaker that was intermittently providing the necessary voltage, even though measurements initially appear correct. While the breaker issue caused real inconvenience and unexpected costs on my end, the owner was responsive and showed willingness to smooth things over to work toward a resolution. I also want to highlight that the panel upgrade and solar/battery installation itself was clean and well done. The workmanship that Eddie, Manny, Christian and Jamie performed had overall met my expectations, and once the issue was identified, Sunline did step in to correct it. No project is perfect, but how a company responds when problems arise matters a lot. In this case, Sunline's owner and Eric was engaged, responsive, and made a sincere effort to make things right. As an engineer, and after witnessing the symptoms and corrective actions firsthand, I believe the breaker issue was likely a manufacturing defect, and it was unfortunate that it occurred during the holidays. That said, based on how Sunline handled the situation, the overall quality of their work, and the value they offer, I would recommend them and plan to continue using them for future needs.

Going into the process, our biggest concerns were making sure the system was properly sized for our actual needs, that the equipment would be reliable, and that we were working with a company we could trust long-term. Stellar did a good job addressing all of those concerns. Communication throughout the process was consistent overall, and the various (many!) teams that came out to the house were professional and clearly experienced. We especially appreciated that they were knowledgeable not just about the equipment itself, but also SDG&E rates, battery strategy, and available rebates/programs. What really surprised us was the speed of the installation. From the first day of roofing to battery installation, panels, inspection, and formal permission to operate, the entire process took only 3.5 weeks. Stellar coordinated multiple internal teams, a roofing subcontractor, and the city seamlessly. The install itself looks clean and the system has been working very well so far (about 3 weeks in). As someone who relies on word-of-mouth reputation and customer service for my own personal business, this company fails across the board. 1) We had an issue with our solar panels so we called Solar Tech first thing in the morning. The phone operator told us we would get a call back from one of the techs later on that day. FIVE days went by before we even got a response back, and it was in the form of a text message asking us what problems we were having. If a customer is calling you for help, the last thing you should do is make them wait almost a week to get a response, and then have them explain to you what is wrong over text. Very poor professionalism. STRIKE 1. 2) The tech told us the next available appointment was 1 full week away, so not only did we wait FIVE full days for a text response, but we had to wait another full week for any resolution of service. STRIKE 2 3) The day of our appointment, thankfully, we had the first appointment of the day scheduled as we had a very busy day with other obligations so we were hoping to have everything completed by mid morning. After about 4 hours of the company no-show/no-call/no-text, we decided to call the company to find out the status of our appointment. We got a voicemail instead of someone live, so we left a message. A few hours later we finally got a call back saying someone will show up later that day. And they did finally show up at the very end of the workday. STRIKE 3 This was a very VERY disappointing experience. From poor follow up, poor customer service, and just a poor company all around. For someone like me, my sales/service business relies heavy on customer service. I've provided 1000s of recommendations and referrals of vendors for roofing, plumbing, solar, electrical work and more over the last 20 years, and i can say that I will never recommend this company as their lack of customer service would reflect very poorly on me and my business. I used GC Electric Solar for my solar and battery system installation on my single family home. The…read moreway my roof was configured limited the number of panels and how the panels could be oriented, however upon arrival the GCE installers were able to quickly reassess and change the design a bit to compensate for the roof penetration locations. The installation took one day, with provisioning taking a bit longer. Francis at GCE was understanding of the problems I was having with the Credit Union financing the deal, which resulted in a few delayed payments. GCE could have charged me late payment fees but they did not which I do appreciate. There were some delays in the installation timetable, which pushed the initial system in-service date into mid February, however looking back at the calendar there were a few compounding difficulties that were not the fault of GCE. I think the communication between GCE and myself could have been improved a bit, however the quality of the work I think makes up for it. I would work with them in the future for expanding my system or adding additional battery storage.

So I developed a roof leak at our home and the existing roof was at least 25 years old so it was now time for roof replacement! I did my research and contacted the owner Troy whom was very thorough and informative during our conversation and he answered all of my concerns. The next step was to have my roof inspected, address any concerns and formulate an estimated cost for recommended repair. The estimator Dylon spent nearly 45 minutes performing a complete and thorough inspection. I have solar panels and gas lines mounted on our roof which complicated the roof replacement process. Good news is San Diego County Roofing (SDCR) partners with a great solar company and therefore de-activating the solar system, solar panel(s) removal, replacement and re-activation of the solar system is all taken care of through SDCR. Also SDCR warranties all work provided by their partnering solar company. I chose SDCR to replace my roof and what a great decision it was. I was updated and kept informed through each and every step of of the roof replacement process. I had some wood issues (rotting, worn out etc...) and the cost for the wood replacement was very reasonable. Tarps were laid out to cover our pool and artificial turf and after each day the residence was thoroughly cleaned of debris. Edgar the supervisor was always available whenever I had any questions or concerns. Also Dylon was always "Keeping tabs" with the progress and kept me informed of any issues and offered options when applicable. I felt very comfortable knowing that Dylon was always "on top" of things! Upon completion of the job, Juan invited me to view the new roof replacement and informed me of all that had been done and answered all of my questions and concerns. He even explained that my flat roof section of the garage had 2 sheets of "roofing" (know as "torch down") installed as compared to 1 sheet of roofing which most roofing companies provide, something I wouldn't have known. Everything was great and I was extremely satisfied EXCEPT one big problem! Apparently during the process of replacing my roof, a section of my newly installed artificial turf in the front of my house became damaged. I contacted Troy to discuss this big concern not knowing what to expect. After our discussion he instructed me to have the turf replaced and that I would be reimbursed for any and all cost. I had the artificial turf replaced at a cost of $2,200 and true to his word troy had a company check in the amount of $2,200 sent to my house within (1) week. So rest assured SDCR will give you phenomenal service. The company is professional, honest and transparent every step of the way from start to completion. This company has proved should something go wrong, they will make it "right". I highly recommend SDCR and I'm so glad I made the right choice! You should make the right choice too!
