We had a really great experience with New Day Solar. Initially, they designed a solar roof system for us that incorporated our specific requirements and roof details for our new 7K sq ft home construction project. Then, they put it out to bid. We received a couple of bids from other companies including Costco Sunrun and another local solar company. No on Sunrun due to their awful online reviews. No on the other solar companies because I had to wait 2-3 months for installation.  We selected New Day solar because they had awesome online reviews, locally owned, cost effective and can get it completed on my timeline. The whole process was well presented with no hidden surprises.They did a great job installing our panels with no broken roofing tiles. There were two occasions when it rained heavily in my city and there were no roof leaks. Awesome. I had 52 panels with 4 battery packs and they supported us through the entire installation project. The installers were nice, friendly and knowledgeable. After installation support is great as well. One of the most important criteria regarding solar companies is the after support.  Walter, our sales rep always welcomed any questions we had and fully explained all the details. We had our solar panels installed for a year and a half. All of sudden, one of the panel stopped reporting. I called the New Day Solar service department. They scheduled a technician to come out today to determine the problem. Justin called to let me know he would be there between 11:30-12:00. He showed up on time. Upon examination, he found one of the wire was pinched on installation. He cut off the pinched wire and replaced it with a good piece with the connection. He double checked the micro inverter and solar panel by switching them around. Then he called Enphase to have them reset the micro inverter. Once the micro inverter was reset, the panel started to report. Great job by Justin and the team at New Day Solar. They do a great job in making sure my solar system is running smoothly. New Day Solar installed our home solar back in 2023. That whole experience was great and our solar has been functioning very will since then. Haven't give SCE a penny since the 3rd month after our system went online (over 2 years now!). The reason I'm writing this review now is that we had a major roof leak back in late November and part of our upstairs ceiling collapsed in. What a nightmare!! We weren't sure where the leak was or if the solar was the cause. We contacted a roofer to address the roof repairs needed and we also called New Day to let them know what was going on and asked that they be involved in determining the source of the leak. They were so responsive and quickly came over to evaluate the situation. After their inspection they didn't feel the leak was due to the solar panels but was rather a roof problem in one of the valleys near the solar panels. They didn't just walk away at that point. They came the day the roofer began the repairs and worked with them to fully evaluate the problems. They removed the solar panels that needed to be removed so the repairs could happen and put them back after. They were correct and the solar was not involved in the problem. Corey the owner went out of his way to make sure he had a crew on-site when the roofer needed them there so that we could get our repairs done as quickly as possible. Corey was up on the roof multiple time to make sure everything was done correctly and we were happy and secure that the problems were resolved. Many other companies would have just said "not our problem" and walked away but that's not how they do business. Loved the entire experience! From our salesperson [Sarah] to the actual installers, overall process went very well. Sarah somehow got us squeezed into the New 2.0 deadline which was a big deal for us. She was always available for any questions before and during the install process. New Day quoted us more total panels on our hard to fit roof shape, than any other Solar company. This was essential as our electricity bill is very high due to SCE's time of use rates. It took five days to complete the install. The first day Renee and Xander completed the panel mounts. They were very efficient. The second day Johnathan and Manuel ran the conduit in the attic and drilled holes in the roof. I surveyed the attic and this looked to be a nicely done job as the attic is a hard place to work inside. Third day team lead Ryan and his awesome crew [Manuel, Marcus, William, Lacen, Xander and Johnathan] completed the majority of the install with the Enphase inverter inside the garage and Qcell Qpeak 405 panels on the roof. I contacted New Day Solar because SunPower went bankrupt and our system stopped reporting. We found what the issue was through a friend in the solar business and recommended we contact someone to come take a look and inspect then fix the issue. After contacting New Day Solar they were very professional and understanding regarding being left hanging by SunPower. I paid for a full inspection that included photos and an explanation of what might be wrong with the system. They sent a report of the findings that included: Photos of the panels, modules, racking & attachment, inverter, roof condition, electrical panel. They also included photos of them checking the junction boxes on the roof and testing of the endpoints (testing the voltage at key connection points, at the end cap or any type of amperage test on the strings.) If you need an overview of what your system looks like, or any service for your solar system in general, I would recommend them. Their customer service is all around excellent. read more

I've had many questions because I went with a fairly large system along with batteries and of course the County has a lot of red tape but New Day solar made sure everything was taken care of and stayed on top of every step. There were a few issues with our project. The biggest issue is that we experienced a high level of miscommunication. I won't go into every issue here apart from the biggest one. We were told that there would be no work done to our breaker box when installing our batteries because they will use a transfer switch power control system (PCS) that limits backfeed to the main panel. I have come to understand that though this is true, using that as an answer to our question was incorrect. Hence, why we feel like they have very poor communication. We desperately needed to upgrade our panel and felt we had no choice in the matter. So we paid an electrician to put in a subpanel a mere month before the project by New Day Solar started, where an electrician from the company did just that. Effectively wasting our money. Our fault for not reading the fine print I suppose. Please consult with an electrician and send over all documents so you know what to expect because the representatives may not give you the correct information. Thank you, Eric for your reply. Unfortunately, it was made VERY clear that we were experiencing issues with our breaker box from the beginning. And we asked repeatedly about our concerns when we were told that there would not be an upgrade made to it with this project. Which is why that though the batteries were installed well, because we were NOT given information after we tried to get a better understanding, we spent money we should not have. Do Not Miss calling New Day Solar (NDS) I'm not one to write long reviews but based on the money you are about to spend I felt it worth writing about my experience I recently had with one of the most respected sought after companies for installing (purchased only) solar. It started with me reviewing so many positive experiences in my neighborhood Mapleton who had used NDS for their install. It was true hard to find a bad review. Everyone with recommended Jim (who I used and loved) or Mary for their sales rep. I had multiple bids and truly absorbed myself in this system since it was a good amount of money and knew I want LG Panels and a Company that would be there for me if something went wrong. So after meeting with 4 companies I have to say Jim and NDS were the most professional and non pushy I experienced. In addition their quote was extremely reasonable for what I was requesting. Sometimes you can go cheaper panels but in the long run I wanted a well know brand that will be around. Now this is the GREAT PART. The amazing experience didn't stop once the sale was done. I own several Companies and I truly wish I can have all my staff work in unison as this Company. Even after I signed and had a quick question for Jim (who was on vacation at this time) he took time to call me back while on his house boat. First off once you sign the contract (and again purchase only with two options cash or finance) the office reaches out to you, Sarah in my case who was amazing and constantly keeps you updated throughout the entire process. From plans are done, to submitting for permit, to we have your permit, to let's install. It was awesome to receive all that communication as we waited. Keep in mind our projected install date was Oct 21 but was moved up to Aug. Then I was blow away by the INSTALL TEAM. Lead by Ryan who politely introduced himself and his team, provided me with a few very memorable gifts and explained the process for the next two days. I watched his Team work and always super kind and amazing. With the lead of Ryan the rest of them deserves to be highlighted for their professional over two days and included Mike, John, Nathan, and Lacen. All truly amazing and very respectful. After looking at sever neighbors installs I have to say mine had to be one of the most professional jobs ever. I will include pictures but one example is the install of the equipment is inside the house not outside against the elements. This was overwhelming done well. The inspector was even impressed. With that said I HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are purchasing your system call New Day Solar and if their quote is a little higher then others it's well worth every Penny.
