Wow. Did I get lucky. It wasn't easy to find someone with experience in removing solar heating panels and expertise in how to clean calcium stains off the roof tiles, but I found him. I concluding that it was finally time to say good bye to my solar panels which were no longer heating my pool and had left numerous calcium stains on my roof from years of water leaks. So I knew I needed to hire a professional to do the job. My goal was to get the roof looking good again and get the tiles cleaned but to do that the panels had to come off first which was more involved then I imagined. This led me on a search in which I contacted roofers, who mostly just tried to sell me new tiles. I contacted other roof cleaning companies too but they seems to be unwilling or unsure as to how to remove calcium stains on roof tiles. Yet others suggested harsh chemicals and had high prices. Then I contacted a few solar companies who only knew how to remove the panels but not how to clean the thick calcium buildup off the roof. Again their prices were too high for my budget. Finally in one last search effort on Yelp I must have typed in the right words in the search bar because this time I found Greg who owns Solargram. Thank God I did because it turns out that he is experienced in both solar panel removal,as well as knowing how to properly patch and seal all holes left in the roof from where the panels were attached for the past 20 yrs. I also discovered that I had some broken tiles which he agreed to glue and repair at the same time. In speaking to him on the phone I found out that Greg also happened to be extremely experienced with roof cleaning, knowing exactly how to use a pressure washer and what type of results I should expect using only water which he said was all that was needed. He advised me that roof tile replacement wasnt necessary nor was the use of harsh chemicals as some had suggested to remove the calcium. He was confident in all aspects of the system removal process as well as the cleaning process and he offered me an awesome price. All this during our first conversation with no wasted time or uncertainty, which combined with his next day availability, sealed the deal for me. We contacted Greg to repair our solar system that wasn't operating. Greg was very responsive, knowledgeable and thorough. Greg was awesome, professional, and informative from the get go. I unfortunately moved into a home with solar and got slammed with a surprise bill from SCE and found my solar system hadn't been working. Of course, on top of that, the original solar company was no longer in business. After calling almost every available solar company in the area, only a small handful were willing to come out and service a solar system that they themselves had not installed. I understand this due to liabilities, etc. Regardless, Greg was willing to spend extensive time with me on the phone to try and diagnose the initial problem without having to come out and be charged if it was a simple fix. After trouble shooting a several things and not finding the problem, he came out promptly within a week and quickly identified a combusted and corroded junction box on the roof from poor installation from the original installers. Within 2 hours time, both he and his technician removed, repaired, and replaced the blown junction box correctly as it should have been and explained everything thoroughly to me step by step to understand how components had failed in the first place and how his work would resolve future issues from arising. He replaced and relocated the junction box as it should have been so it would be protected and safeguarded from the elements. Greg's work was flawless, his professional mannerism and expertise with solar are unparalleled, and his price for the fix was incomparable to what other local businesses probably would have charged us based on the suggested "costs" they were already quoting me. To avoid any concern, Graham is my first name whereas it is Greg's second, and I have no personal relationship with these guys. That being said, I would highly recommend the work ethic and professionalism shown by this company, where nothing seems to be too much trouble in completing the job to the customer's satisfaction. A previous post stated that tile repairs were included in the job as a matter of course and I would confirm that from my experience also. I conducted my selection process by approaching two large organizations and two local. One large was through the Costco relationship and those guys were impossible to work with. The other was much more reasonable, and worked hard to compete, but were too hung up on their own product to arrive at a deal. Then came Greg, who spent time educating me on ways to save cost by avoiding overbuilding. I had learned enough to be dangerous, and was extremely happy when Greg pointed out the mistakes in my ideas, which I'd based on inflated marketing claims. The design process was straight forward, with my annoying questions well tolerated, and I felt myself relaxing from a state of anxiety. I became convinced of Greg's honesty and a large part of the job was conducted while I was out of town. In doing so, Greg called with a suggestion to improve the location of a sub panel in the garage, then moved floor to ceiling garage cabinets to accommodate. All part of the deal! The job was completed at the turn of the year and, since then, I get to enjoy watching the production on my smart phone. In April I tried to obtain estimates from several solar installation companies that had high (5 star) ratings on Yelp for my retirement home in Hemet. Of the five I contacted, only three responded. The first one sent out a salesman who gave me pricing that I knew at the time was way out of line, for what I later found out was older, out of tech equipment. He was more interested in then giving me a "deal" to use my project for marketing purposes. The second response was another salesman, but he was way more knowledgeable about what to offer me, and presented a plan that was well within the ball park of what I was expecting. Although knowledgeable, he admitted he was a salesman, and obtained his knowledge by observation. I appreciated his candor, and felt his company could do a decent and fair installation, but I had one more appointment for later that day. Gregg Graham was my third appointment for a bid. He offered a plan with the most up to date technology at a lower price. I have spoken to several people over the years who put in Solar, and the one thing I heard was that they wish they had put in more panels. I asked Greg how many panels could I fit, he said 39 (which was 10 to 12 more than the others were bidding) and the cost was not much more than bid number 2. I discussed the fact that I had to get HOA approval and that could lead to problems, but he said not to worry. I went ahead and signed that day. Greg is the owner, sales person, and installer (he has Tony, who is great and knowledgable, and one other helper). He installs during the day, and tries to make his appointments in the evening. Don't get frustrated if he does not answer his phone, he will return the call, he is more than likely on the roof or in someone's attic. He came back, took measaurements, looked at the panel box and attic. He the plans back to me in about a week. I submitted them to the HOA, it took about 3 weeks, and of course they wanted some changes which we did and resubmitted. Again another 3 weeks, and they said 3 panels in the front had to be either deleted or moved. Greg did a redesign, and we submitted these to the city bldg dept. as well. Finally we got all approvals. We were in to late May, and I had some personal business in the way, so he moved up a couple of jobs to put mine to late June when I was available. He told me it would take 5 days. He kept in constant communication with me about when he would be coming each day. He actually completed the job in 4 days, but needed to be there for the final city inspection. He showed up on day 5 at 8AM. The city would not give him a time, only the inspector would be over by 4:30. Greg and Tony waited the entire day for the inspector, who finally showed up a little after 4. I am very proud of the way this project turned out. It is one of the best I have seen. Very little of the panels can be seen from the street,you have to really look. I think it is one of the best installations in my development hands down. Greg submitted all the necessary documents for Edison, and I was approved the day after the sign off by the city. He advised me to use net metering and save my unused production for future application rather then take out cash when the true up process happens from Edison. He set up the AP on my I Phone so I can monitor the system almost live (a few minute delay), and I have access to production reports, and know production by individual panel (thus knowing if there is a problem - something not available from the first bidder due to the old technology). The comments by the other reviewers are correct. I highly recommend his company, and think he should be considered in the companies you contact for bids. BTW, I will post updates to this as time passes. Hopefully they will be as positive as this initial post. read more

We bought our solar from a different company and nobody told us about the pigeons. Our roof was full of pigeons everyday and night! They built nest under our panels and eggs were falling all around our house! There was bird poop everywhere around the house as well! I called a different company to put something around the panels to get rid of the pigeons and they wanted three times as much as Graham! They were professional and quick. They left my house exactly as they found it, you could not tell they were there besides the beautiful solar panels installed on my roof. The first day of install, consisted of prepwork, which they were able to complete in half a day and on the second day, Greg and Team showed up at 7:30 AM and were done by 1:30 PM. Thats with 39 panels installed! Greg had his Foreman, Scott, return the following morning to confirm Final Inspection to ultimately get our system in PTO status with Southern California Edison. Greg kept me in the loop every step of the way and called me an hour prior to receiving an email that SCE has us in PTO status and seemed more excited about how much energy I was producing that I was. He helped me install an Energy phone application that provides detailed information of your energy gains and usage. Once he explained to me what it all meant, we couldn't be happier. I shared with Greg my future concerns of purchasing an Electric car and he has prepped the install to be able to add on at a later date if needed. Greg installed 4 new solar panels along with 2 of our older panels on our motorhome last July. He gave us a ver fair quote, much less than the RV dealer wanted. His work was great. He spent a lot of time on the project even connecting the RV manufacturer about wiring. Wires are hidden and he even installed an extra control panel so I could see it. (The other controls for the motorhome are over my head at the front door.). I ran into Greg by chance at Home Depot as I was being drilled by Solar City. He happened to be walking by when I had asked them how they determine the location of each panel. Their sales rep seemed stumped. Greg answered for them and said they use satellite imagining to view the roof and configure their layout. I finished up with the rep and ended up asking Greg if he had them do the install on his house. Turned out that he had his own solar company. After talking for a few minutes I scheduled a time for him to come give me an estimate. Most of his visit he spent on my roof. I felt compelled to ask what he was doing up there that whole time as my house isn't very large. I was informed that he was checking for the best locations to set each panel based on where the sun shined the most. With the device he used he was able to design the best possible layout so my panels would achieve their maximum potential. At that point I started to wonder how Solar City could do a design without ever stepping foot on my roof. I chose to move forward with Greg, and I couldn't be happier. From the start Greg was very knowledgeable in his presentation and explanation of the system he recommended (a 10.4kw system). I did a lot of research on solar companies utilizing Yelp, Google, Facebook and my local neighborhood groups and then I prepared a list of candidates. From this list I selected 3 solar companies to interview and secure quotes. I chose Greg, the owner of SolarGraham. Greg is personable, knowledgeable, a veteran and provided a competitive quote.
