I procrastinated getting solar for way too long, and I'm really glad I finally did it through Aloha Solar Power. They installed a full solar panel system plus two Tesla Powerwall batteries for us, and the entire process was excellent from start to finish. They were very straightforward, easy to work with, and never overly salesy, which I really appreciated. The install went smoothly, and the crew, Jorge, Isaac, Cesar, D'lo, and Thomas, did an awesome job. Gabe, the owner, has also been super responsive with any questions along the way. I had a really positive experience and would definitely recommend Aloha Solar Power to anyone considering solar. read more

First off, we did not taking getting solar lightly. We spoke to about 8 different companies in person (Semper, Baker, Stellar, Optimum, and a couple others I can't remember now). First and foremost Gabe at Aloha Solar was the ONLY one where it didn't feel sales pitchy. He went to college for this, believe he grew up off grid on Maui and you can tell right away he's knowledgeable and a straight shooter. Not to mention he had the best pricing and deal out of every other company! Gabe made us feel comfortable with our decision, gave us all the information we wanted, and actually drove out to our house multiple times to chat when we had additional questions and concerns. Is Aloha a smaller company, yes, but will Gabe answer your call when needed, yes! Fast forward install happened within a couple weeks of signing the deal. Minas was the head installer it seemed (all people are internal employees with Aloha and work is NOT contracted out, that was a big seller for us), and two other guys Rigo and Matt. All were super nice and very professional. Minas walked me through everything at the end, and major bonus points once he installed the piping going from battery to roof, he asked if I had paint that matched the exterior of my house. I did, and he then painted all of the piping! I know he did not have to do that, so that was a fantastic touch. If you're thinking about solar, trust me, I did the research and I spoke to all of the sales people. GO WITH ALOHA! You will NOT be disappointed. Thanks to Gabe and the team! read more

I've hired Aloha Solar for two projects at my home in Laguna Hills: first for a battery installation, and later for a battery expansion alongside a main and sub-panel upgrade. Their communication and workmanship were incredible across both jobs. What really impressed me, though, was how fiercely they advocated for me. When I ran into compatibility challenges between the battery and my existing solar system, they stepped up to deal directly with the manufacturer. They continued to test and troubleshoot the system until everything was fully resolved. A huge shoutout to Pete, his customer service, professionalism, and logical troubleshooting skills are what made this project successful. They are honest, trustworthy, care deeply about their craft, and are genuinely willing to support their customers when issues arise. Thank you, Aloha Solar! read more

This company is the best in terms of responsiveness, timeliness and quality of service. Very professional, I will definitely use them for all solar needs! read more

We've had a very good experience with Aloha Solar. First, they clearly explained the options for the system and the purchase or lease contracts, and their pricing was the best of many offers that we considered. They returned calls and texts quickly, not only while we were considering signing with them but also after signing, and even after installation was complete while we learned how the system and app work. We did not have to wait long for installation, and the installers were quick, courteous, and cleaned up the work area well. Aloha handled all permits and paperwork with the utilities and city, and kept us updated throughout the process. We are very satisfied with the system and the service and highly recommend Aloha Solar. read more

A special thanks to Matt that helped me reconnect my solar system, and get things up and running again. He was very knowledgeable and kind. Hopefully I won't have another solar panel repair issue but if I do, I'll call Aloha! read more

GREAT COMPANY! Gabe is THE guy you want to talk to about solar! Professional, honest and reliable. Took extra time to explain all details with me including ways to save money! Aloha Solar was recommended to me by numerous friends and I'm glad i went with them to install my solar system and battery. The owner, Gabe, is very knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive to all my questions (and I had a lot). His install team (Minas, Rigo, Cesar, and Matt) arrived early, were very professional, explained everything, and helped me navigate through the Tesla App. The install was super clean and they asked for paint to match the house exactly and had also painted all the roof metal black to match my roof. We had 20 panels and 1 backup battery installed and everything was up and running by 3PM. Highly Recommend Aloha Solar! read more

Minas was the technician that installed our solar. He is so good at his job and very kind. Thanks Minas. Thanks also to Rodrigo.

The entire team at Aloha Solar Power were professional, courteous, on time, kept job site clean, and provided a smooth and seamless process for going solar. From our main contact Pete who answered questions in a timely manner, to the friendly install team of Minas, Rigo and Cesar who installed the solar panels on a 2 story home in 1 day, and Minas finished the hookup the next day. We could not be happier with our experience. With SDG&E's rates always going up, we are very glad we went with solar when we did. We highly recommend Aloha Solar Power to any one of our friends and family. Great job! Thank you! read more

If I could give more stars I would. I am a 66 yo woman who decided to do the permitting plans myself. Every other solar installer ghosted me or charged double what Aloha quoted. The price charged was very fair. I had talked to over a dozen installers. The C-10 on the team was Pete. A true professional who is kind, courteous and knows his stuff. He made sure to explain everything and double checked every aspect of the install. Gil and Kasha mounted the panels, handled the wiring and so much more. Both were exceptionally hard workers and knew what they were doing . Gil made sure to take time to explain everything because he knew that was important to me. This company is more than an install. It is a group of people who are committed to renewable energy. They work hard. Know what they are doing. And charge a fair rate. I truly could not be happier. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Aloha solar and power On my solar project. These guys showed up on time, were polite, considerate, and super professional. The job was done early and I can tell they were Subject matter experts who have done this many times. After the project was completed, the site was cleaned and again communication was fantastic. Wow! Just had Gilbert and Kasha install my new solar system and Tesla Powerwall. They did a fantastic job....very clean install, on-time, with ZERO issues. The system powered right up, Gilbert was able to train me and get me running on the Tesla app in just a few minutes. I am already seeing results in my first day live. Highly recommend Aloha! read more

Gabe came recommended from another solar company that did not service residential customers (only businesses), and was pleasantly surprised at the responsiveness, attention to detail, clear communications and explanations, and above all else professionalism and courtesy. In the sea of many solar companies who are just trying to turn out installs, Gabe took the time to share his experience, knowledge, and advice. This is a rare situation and one that warrants this write-up. Do yourself a favor before booking any solar company, check the reviews. Many negative complaints stem from the lack of follow-up or follow-thru with commitments after the sale. Getting the panels installed isn't the issue. The issue is getting them services afterwards. For the value, Aloha Solar Power is by far, the best choice for my panels. read more

Moved into my current house a year ago and it came with a 10 year old 3kw solar system (minus degradation), which wasn't enough. With the tax credit ending end of year, now seemed like a good time to get some more panels. As my current system is on NEM 1 with 1:1 credits from Edison, I didn't want to lose that but I wanted the new system to cover additional usage. As a result of many hours of research, I was leaning towards a FranklinWH system due to their dynamic export limiting functionality to ensure the old system could continue to export up its maximum and the new system would be able to cover my additional usage. Vendor Selection I got quotes from 6 vendors around end of July through early August. Tesla was only able to do Tesla Powerwall + Qcells solar panels. 2 vendors only did Enphase systems REC 460 + Enphase 10C + IQ8x microinverters. 3 vendors (including Aloha) were able to do the FranklinWH aPower2 + REC 460 + IQ8x microinverters. Aloha Solar Power was the most expensive bid I received ($31,420 which is ~$4k higher than the lowest priced bid for the same system). Ultimately I selected Aloha Solar Power for a couple reasons. 1. They were the recommended vendor by FranklinWH. Considering how many solar systems get installed in Southern California, that probably doesn't happen by accident. 2. Gabe always responded the next business day to my emails and the answers I got were the most intelligent. Since my situation isn't as straightforward as a brand new solar system, I probably had more complicated than average questions. Other installers would have to send my question to engineering which took a couple days to get a response. None of the non-FranklinWH installers were able to convince me that Enphase was the right approach. 3. It isn't everyday you see a business with this many 5 star reviews and nothing less. 4. They don't use subcontractors and all electricians are union journeyman electricians. 5. Turns out the FranklinWH system with the configuration I wanted would require an additional subpanel which was included in Gabe's original estimate. No other installer pointed that out and unsure if they knew or quoted me based on that. 6. Not sure if it's due to the relatively small system I was needing installed, but there was no deposit, no milestone payments, etc. Didn't pay a cent until everything was up and running. 7. I was guaranteed to have a system up and running before the end of the year so I wouldn't miss out on the tax credit. Installation Signed the contract beginning of September and was contacted in mid-October for an installation - just as originally estimated. Was told the installation was going to take one day from 7AM-5PM and it did. Shoutout to the crew Matt, Saul, Isaac, Juan who did the install. They arrived exactly on the dot at 7AM, not a minute late. By 5PM, they had installed 10x REC460 panels, 10x Enphase microinverters, 1x Enphase combiner, 1x FranklinWH aGate, 1x FranklinWH aPower2, 1x subpanel (which required relocating every single breaker from my original main panel), all the conduit runs + painted the exterior conduits, and cleaned up afterwards. Waiting on final inspection now, but so far the system is working exactly how I originally expected it would. Big thanks to the Aloha team! Would recommend! read more

After many years of being skeptical of many solar companies, who seemed to only exist to take advantage of people, I FINALLY found the right team to help me through my solar journey! My interaction with the company started with Joseph, a very kind dude from a very small town in Maui. He was very knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, and was very responsive to my needs. He assisted me with creating the perfect project for my home. He also put me in touch with a great roofing company to replace my roof. The team who completed the roof job on my house was also AMAZING! They took the entire roof off in one day, and installed the whole new roof the following day. This job would have easily taken several days to complete, with any other roofing company. When it was time to install the panels, Minas, Isaac, and Angel were the group for the job. What started as a sunny day, turned to a very wet and rainy day, but this didn't slow them down. Even through the weather, they finished the job, installing 14 panels and 1 Tesla power wall in 1 day! Aloha Solar was a breath of fresh air! The process was very quick from the first meeting with Joseph to the completion of the panel installation. I highly recommend anyone getting solar on their home to go through Aloha Solar. Don't waste your time and money with anyone else! read more

Aloha Solar just installed my new solar panels and Tesla powerwall. Every aspect of this project went smoothly and according to plan. The system is up and running perfectly. Gil gave a great tutorial on the entire system and how to use the excellent Tesla App. There are so many choices out there in solar companies. Many, especially those door to door solicitors are outright liars and scammers. It doesn't get any better than Aloha solar. No B.S. or false promises. I just got my solar installed by Aloha Solar Power, and I am absolutely over the moon with their customer service. I have to say, I can be a very particular person; I want things done a certain way, specifically when it comes to aesthetics. I really like things to blend in, so when I saw them installing the mounts, I quickly asked Gilberto if we could paint them to match. Without hesitation, he said, "Of course we can," and got it done immediately. What they did next was truly over the top. The team noticed some parts of my roof needed quick maintenance and, without me even asking, they fixed them! They even painted a roof vent that wasn't related to the solar panels just so everything would match perfectly. Kasha and Gilberto did an amazing job, but their customer service is what has me recommending this company to everyone. Even the owner, Gabe, really impressed me. I am so glad I went with them. Thank you, team--this was hands down the BEST VALUE out there! read more

Navigating the solar world can be challenging and sometimes intimidating. Not with Aloha. We started our experience with a few conversations with Sean. He was clear with the information provided and answered all of our questions. He sat with us and went through the process step by step to ensure we understood and were comfortable. Once the project was confirmed, the process went so smooth. Pete came out to ensure everything was prepped. They coordinated with a great roofing company (Higher Levels Roofing) and plumber (All American Plumbing) and our experience with them was just as pleasant. The installation was seamless. Minas, Armando, and Kasha were here for about a day and half installing the panels and battery. Once installed, Minas helped me set up the app and went through step-by-step on how to work it. I could not be happier. If you are looking for solar, please give Aloha a call. I am positive you won't regret it. read more

Adding solar power to my home was a huge decision as I am certain it is for most people. I called and left messages for maybe half a dozen solar companies in my area. Only a couple of companies actually called me back. Either business for them was really, really good and they were not actively trying to gain another customer or their customer service was really poor. One company gave a very slick powerpoint presentation but did not actually come to my home. Assessing where to place the solar panels and the power wall would have been done virtually. Not so with Aloha. From the moment I called them through the entire installation and start-up process, everything was handled very knowledgeably, professionally and unbelievably quickly. My only regret is that I did not do this sooner. It is very empowering to be energy independent! Gilbert, Saul and Ben were the team on the ground and my roof that handled everything. I couldn't be happier with my decision. read more

We had Aloha Solar do our complete solar package. From permit to installation and final permit. Then we called them back to install a battery back up. They are a wonderful company. I don't hesitate to recommend them. It's been more than a year and I'm still happy with everything. Best of all, it all works. Nice and respectful guys. Shout out to Joseph that coordinated the entire project, even though we were about 45 minutes away, he made it happen. Thank You very much. Wish I could have them do more read more

Very impressed with Aloha Solar. Excellent communication, great price, overall a pleasure to work with. We shopped around for about two months before selecting Aloha. They were actually the cheapest bid, but provided high quality materials (Tesla powerwall battery, Longi panels) and had outstanding reviews for their services. We are very glad we chose them. Owner Gabe was very quick to reply to all of my email questions throughout the process. We had to replace our roof as well, and Aloha's contractor was also the best deal among several quotes, with quality work. Aloha also did a great job replacing our old Sylvania electrical panel and upgrading to a new larger one. The job was completed very quickly, in just two days. Shout out to Jerry, Renee and Matt. read more

These guys were great! I purchased a backup battery to add to my existing solar panel system. They suggested what turned out to be a terrific product (Franklin aPower 2 battery + Franklin a Gate). The hardware, including its app, works great. What was most impressive of all was how great these guys were. The installation process, up to the county's inspection, takes three days, and they did it on three successive days. I hired Aloha Solar Power to do my ground mount solar installation in Ramona, CA. I needed a ground mount because my roof is made up of lots of smaller sections and it's not ideal for a roof mount of a usable size. I have lots of land though, and lots of options for doing a ground mount. I tried for 15 months with other companies and I had a lot of bad experiences. One company cancelled on me after a year of waiting for permits. I found Aloha Solar by doing an inquiry on the FranklinWH website. These guys did an incredible job. Every single part of the interaction was good. No pushy salesman stuff. Gabe is down to earth and very real, and listened to what I wanted and needed. It took around 1 month from my first email contact with Gabe, to having a finished and functioning solar installation. Every step of the process went exactly as Gabe said it would, there were no surprises. Gabe said it would take 4 business days, and it took 4 business days. The install crew Jerry, Sam, and Angel were on time every day, friendly, professional and extremely efficient. I felt like I was in good hands the entire time. They did a beautiful job building the ground mount structure, arranging the panels, mounting the battery and doing the wiring. Very clean install. I am an IT guy, and a bit of a cable management freak and these guys did a really clean install. I am beyond impressed. Aloha is the solar company you want to work with if you live in the San Diego area. 5 out of 5 stars to everyone involved. Their quality of workmanship is extremely high. My expectations were exceeded, and they made it look effortless to accomplish that. Where can I start explaining how pleasant and informative Aloha Solar is? I reviewed the yelp reviews and Better Business Bureau and got three separate bids for solar power(as they said you should). This was the only time I could not find a lot of information on a company to choose, but we were so lucky to find Aloha Solar in Encinitas, CA. They were very competitive with their pricing. And the great thing is there is no middle company, they are the seller and installer of the system. They were the second company to call me back and they were able to meet over the phone within 48 hours. From the date we met to the date we had solar installed was less than 30 days and we got approved by SDGE in less than 2 weeks after that. We received copies of the permits and photos of the installation on our roof. The amount of time spent to make sure all our options were explained on how to pay for the solar power and the different options available were great to know. The time taken by Aloha Solar to make sure all our questions were answered were a welcome change in today's environment. Every step of the way, we felt comfortable that we were getting a GREAT quality solar system with a battery backup that met our needs, especially in the increasing cost of today's environment with Electric companies. Thank you so much for helping us each step of the way during this process and always being available by text from the person selling us the system to the techs installing it, to the owner of the company, even on the weekends. A GREAT company you can trust will be there in the future, which is a good feeling going into 2026 in California with the solar credit disappearing at the end of Dec. 2025. Thank you to Gilbert, Kosha, and Isaac for installing our solar system and of course to Peter and Davd with Aloha Solar. A great team. I am way past due in writing this review for Pete and his crew at Aloha. After another solar company bungled my solar project for almost a year, I fired them and brought in Aloha. From the very beginning, Pete and Gabe were super communicative and took everything that the previous company had done, fixed it to make it correct, and then pushed it through with the city. My project was commercial, so there were a few more hoops to jump through than a standard home install, but Aloha handled it perfectly and within a few months, we were ready to install. The install was a 3 day affair and the crew that came to do the work was on time every day and ultra professional. The work was done exactly as promised and the install was very clean. I am coming up on my 1 year PTO and the system has performed flawlessly. I am preparing to use Aloha for another project because this one went so well. read more
