We are extremely grateful that our Sales representative Sam Johnson was there to provide us with great service from the beginning of the project to the end. Crystal Rojas kept us informed of the scheduling, financing and what step the project was in. When installation day came, we could not have had a better crew than Francisco's crew. On the hottest day of the summer his crew installed our solar panels and Powerwall with limited power interruptions. They cleaned up before they left leaving no trace of being there. During our final inspection Eric Rojas prepped the equipment for the final inspection. His attention to detail was instrumental in passing our inspection. Great service for a great price. read more

I'm going to add myself to the chorus of people telling you to move on and not deal with this company. Like many others, the service provided by this company is disappointing and far below even the most basic expectations. Ask yourself if it's worth getting a solid system only to have no one respond to emails, maybe get lucky to get a call back, have issues with your system that you were never informed of.. and on and on. My case is still open so I will update this if my concerns get addressed, but as of now, 2 stars is generous. The biggest disappointment? They can't talk to you enough until you pay them. Then you are basically ghosted. For me.. Lots of contact with sales and service until payment then no response. Installation was fine. Then someone came out weeks later and said my system wasn't working so he was fixing it. No one had bothered to tell me. The product is good, the service is honestly terrible once you pay. So I'd look somewhere else if I was shopping solar. I got burned on this one. Don't be as naive as me. Stay away. read more

There is no way I would trust you with an enphase upgrade. My latest finding is you could have swapped my recalled zinsco box without relocation from the gas meter. Currently I have multiple electricians verifying this. You cost me over $2000 due to loss of 30% tax credit for that upgrade and me having to dump $1000 to replace the zinsco breakers in a desperate effort to make it safer. As a 20 year sales and service professional, this company gets 1 star from me for their poor customer service. As someone who relies on word-of-mouth reputation and customer service for my own personal business, this company fails across the board. 1) We had an issue with our solar panels so we called Solar Tech first thing in the morning. The phone operator told us we would get a call back from one of the techs later on that day. FIVE days went by before we even got a response back, and it was in the form of a text message asking us what problems we were having. If a customer is calling you for help, the last thing you should do is make them wait almost a week to get a response, and then have them explain to you what is wrong over text. Very poor professionalism. STRIKE 1. 2) The tech told us the next available appointment was 1 full week away, so not only did we wait FIVE full days for a text response, but we had to wait another full week for any resolution of service. STRIKE 2 3) The day of our appointment, thankfully, we had the first appointment of the day scheduled as we had a very busy day with other obligations so we were hoping to have everything completed by mid morning. After about 4 hours of the company no-show/no-call/no-text, we decided to call the company to find out the status of our appointment. We got a voicemail instead of someone live, so we left a message. A few hours later we finally got a call back saying someone will show up later that day. And they did finally show up at the very end of the workday. STRIKE 3 This was a very VERY disappointing experience. From poor follow up, poor customer service, and just a poor company all around. For someone like me, my sales/service business relies heavy on customer service. I've provided 1000s of recommendations and referrals of vendors for roofing, plumbing, solar, electrical work and more over the last 20 years, and i can say that I will never recommend this company as their lack of customer service would reflect very poorly on me and my business. Solar Tech has been an extremely disappointing and unprofessional company to work with. We paid $65,000 for our solar system, and it has been paid in full since last December. Yet 299 days later, the system is still not operational. In California, it is illegal for a solar company to take full payment and leave a system inactive for this long, and Solar Tech has shown no urgency in resolving it. Communication has been consistently poor. Deadlines slip with no explanation, updates are vague or inaccurate, and we've had to chase them for even the most basic information. Every promise of progress has turned into another delay. The lack of accountability is the most troubling part. Solar Tech has left us with a fully paid, non‑functioning system for nearly a year, with no clear timeline and no ownership of the problem. For a project of this cost and importance, their behavior is unacceptable. I strongly recommend avoiding Solar Tech. No one should pay for a system that sits inactive for 299 days -- especially when it violates California regulations. Disappointing. To be fair, I felt that JC gave me a great deal so I signed. However, problems and delays with the install were poorly handled and managed. I approved my initial plan of battery placement and was advised that the plans were approved and installers would be out in a few weeks to begin. First issue, A install crew came out and started marking the location of my stacked battery placement, but it was at a different location then what I had approved. They showed their approved plans and I showed them my approved plans and they were not the same. That crew left and I waited a couple of months for a new crew to come out. Second issue, A new crew came out under new leadership (Kevin, nice guy) and they advised that would be able to complete my original approved plans so they began installing. Third issue, after the install I awaited for fire inspection and they failed the install due to not allowing batteries to be stacked? That was not my fault, I presumed SolarTech had done their research and new the Fire code (wrong). At this point my financing went through along with me paying the difference even though my system wasn't even close to being completed, I paid in good faith and came back to bite me in the A--. Fourth issue, the electricians came out to complete the install of my sub-panel and drilled a hole through my living room wall, I know things happen and they said they would report it and someone would be out to repair it. While waiting for the repair, I was advised that I would have to remove my built in shed to accommodate the battery placement due to not allowing stacking. I felt that I had no choice but to remove my shed in order for that to happen (not happy), but what other choice did I have, I already paid in full (system still not operating). weeks went by still no repair to my living room wall, so I had a painter come out and repair the damage but unfortunately he could not match the foe-venetian finish of the wall and had to repaint the entire room. My system was eventually activated, but it was not a smooth and coordinated process. There is much more I could mention but I want to get to the real point. I asked for reimbursement of $3000 for the damages and paint along with my shed to be replaced and the company is only willing to give me $275, not even close to my request, which they can easily see how much a full room patch repair and paint cost along with the cost of a 16 x 10 shed. I asked my coordinator Angel to take my request to management and she advised that this is all management is willing to pay. read more

We didn't end up moving forward with our solar installation because we realized we wouldn't be able to make the federal tax credit deadline -- but I still want to leave a review because our experience with Isaac Rossi at SolarTech was outstanding. Isaac was incredible from the very beginning. He communicated with us day and night, always responded right away, and went out of his way to explain every step in a clear and honest way. He was patient, never pushy, and genuinely cared about helping us make the right decision for our home. Even though the timing didn't work out for us this year, it had nothing to do with SolarTech or Isaac. In fact, he did everything he could to help us meet the deadline. When we're ready to restart the solar process, we'll be coming straight back to Isaac. If you're considering solar, definitely ask for him -- you won't find anyone more responsive, knowledgeable, or dedicated. read more

If I could give Solar Tech zero stars, I would. Our panels were installed on January 2nd, but no one bothered to tell us that the Tesla batteries were backordered until March. When they finally finished the installation, they failed to submit the proper paperwork to SDGE -- leaving us without an official online connection until May. During all those months, we were stuck paying a hefty solar loan and our regular SDGE bill. Their "solution" for this huge inconvenience was to offer us a gift card, which--surprise--we never received. It's now nearly October, and while Solar Tech has already run to the bank with our money, we're left feeling completely misled and ignored. The lack of communication, transparency, and follow-through is shocking for a company handling something as important as solar. I would not recommend Solar Tech to anyone unless you want to be strung along, overcharged, and left in the dark--literally and figuratively. read more

The sales would make everything sounds very simple but the actuall process is VERY long and they are very slow. Not very happy

We had solar tech install our panels, pool solar and redo the roof around five years ago. Aside from the not telling me SDGE would require me to move our gas meter away from the electric panel- it was relatively a smooth process from their end. Ended up taking five months and $6k to move my meter and get the panels approved. My current issue is that last October I got a call saying a tech needed to come out because an inverter was sending an error message. Three weeks later, tech came and said it was warranty'd and they would get back to me. Then in May after not answering any of my emails I got another call saying there was an error. I asked is it the same error and the girl said she would get back to me. Now with my bills climbing due to summer I STILL haven't gotten an answer as to if I have one or two problems, when anyone will be taking care of it AND I cannot get anyone to call me back or answer the phone more than once. I decided to write on yelp to hopefully help someone else avoid this headache because their customer service after you've bought the product is non existent. I mean if you can't even answer a question with weeks of time to do this- I know I cannot count on them for anything complex in the future. Enphase wants me to pay $1k to have a monitoring system app, but even if something was detected- it's not like they would answer the phone to fix it. VERY frustrated. read more

Greg Chase provided excellent technical service when I called him on Saturday to get my Pentair SolarTouch controller back online with the pump. It controls both the pump and the solar water valve that heats the pool. The controller also protects the water in the panels from freezing. There was a power outage last week and last night I noticed the Freeze Protect program did not run. The red System Status light on the controller was flashing. So I called Greg and he walked me through the process to reset the controller. Now everything is back online. SolarTech installed a new tile roof and a new Solar Water Heating System three years ago. We have been very happy with the results. They value great customer service. read more

Kept driving forward on a parking spot of an atm bank where there's people in line using the atm and the SolarTech truck had already passed the line of the parking spot. Last year a man named Bill Al-Ebsi came to see me about purchasing a battery as I already have solar panels. He lied to me about getting a "free" battery and insisted that I purchase more panels in addition to the battery. That was over my budget and so I chose not to do either as he implied that without the additional panels, the battery would not work properly. He took a check at our initial meeting for $1000.00 and assured me that it would not be cashed until the final proposal was accepted by me. He said my money would be refunded in the event nothing was purchased. On 12/31/2025 my check was cashed and ever since then I have been trying to get my refund with no avail. One of my circuits is completely offline which was missed on final inspection, and my meter socket adapter is faulty. Final update to this project. After approximately 6 months, Solar Tech reached out with a solution. A layout proposal I suggested initially a year ago. They remounted 16 panels at a discounted price. Run far from this company. Everyone's worst nightmare is paying $9,900 for solar panels and the company not completing the job and then ghosting you. If you don't want this to happen to you please shop for a different solar company. I paid a total of $9,900 for my solar panels. I thought everything was completed. 3 months later I find out that PTO ( permission to operate ) was not submitted to Edison. As per Edison- solar companies need to submit this part in order for us to get the benefits of the solar panels. I've emailed solar tech 5 times asking when will that be done? No response. As per Will the rep that sold me the panels isn't getting a response from them either. ( running a business this way should be eye opening for you all reading this, this is how they operate.) My feedback l to you reading this. If you don't want to be ghosted after you have paid in full... with the job not being completed. Do not buy from them!! When we purchased our solar, we were assured that it would generate nearly 20kWh with the number of panels installed. We were also told the system would be monitored, & if any issues arose, the company would notify us & resolve them promptly. The installation was completed after Christmas 2024, & began producing energy for our home & sending excess power back to APS. Soon after being told the system was up & running, we received an email from the solar company stating they needed to return & install additional MCIs because our solar panels were producing more power than the system could handle. After this first repair, we were contacted again & informed that more MCIs would need to be added, as our system still was not performing as expected. Despite these interventions, we received a notification from Tesla that our PV string was out, indicating a significant issue with our solar production. We attempted to contact SolarTech multiple times to address this problem. On one occasion, a technician was sent out, but we discovered he did not have the proper certification to work on our system. Subsequently, workers returned to add MCIs once more. During this visit, we captured video evidence of the contracting manager instructing the crew to lie to us about a problem affecting six of our solar panels, telling them to claim the issue was fixed without disclosing the truth. Following this incident, we spoke with the service manager, scheduling manager, & contracting manager. They scheduled service appointments on six separate occasions, but each time, the crew failed to show up & did not call to notify us. After each missed appointment, we were never proactively contacted by the company; it has been up to us to call repeatedly & leave voicemails until someone finally responded. When we did reach someone, we were given excuses for the missed appointments & told we would simply have to wait until they could address our issue. Throughout this entire period, we have been receiving APS bills because our solar system has not been generating the energy we were promised & paid for. Despite informing the company of these ongoing financial impacts, we have not received the level of support or urgency that was promised at the time of purchase. read more

Professional and fast service. We had a full roof replacement on our condo in San Diego. SolarTech replaced all the shingles, liners, etc, and even worked with the large skylights we had. They were very clear about what to expect and when, and they responded to each of my questions, comments, and observations during the process. Brad was my contact, I recommend working with him. I asked for a correction on a corner once everything was installed, and they sent out a crew to correct it. I took pictures of it, explained what I saw, and Brad took care of everything. I 100% regret using this company. They were super fast to come out and give me a quote. It's kind of been downhill from there. We were referred to them by my in-laws and they were referred by their neighbors. Not long after Solar Tech was paid the large deposit that was not refundable, my in-laws had both their roof leak and their neighbors roof leak due to this poor solar installation. The solar company blamed it on the roof, but I'm not so sure. Both houses had a leak the first rain after getting the panels installed? Sketchy. We went ahead and still got our solar panels done with them, against the my intuition because we didn't want to lose the deposit. This was back in November 2025. Our panels are still not up and running. The company does not take anything seriously and the person I'm supposed to contact keeps changing. We kept failing the application process because Solar Tech kept messing up the application somehow. It literally took them 8 submissions (over the course of several months) until it finally got accepted to the point that we could get our city inspection. We finally got our inspection from the city done and it FAILED. That was over one month ago. I got an email from Solar Tech saying that they will be fixing it within the next 5 to 10 days. It's been over a month and I have reached out several times to get an update since this is costing us money. They required to be paid once the panels were installed. We didn't know that the panels don't start counting towards our bill until the city gives final approval so even though it's generating power right now, our energy bill isn't affected yet. Very horrible experience with SolarTech, my inspection on 9/3/25 did NOT pass smh!! Wrong wire size was installed. Looks like very low staff and I noticed they have too many rookie tech. My mistake for not checking their reviews 1st. Knowing there reviews i wouldn't have hired them at all. Will, a representative from SolarTech sounded very convincing but nothing closed to how they operate. Now I have to wait weeks for the correction to be done because they are "too busy".
