Did a wonderful job. Were very efficient , did everything in one day. Very impressed. Thank you

In 2019 I had SolarTech add four panels and a NeoVolta battery to my existing PV system. Working with them was a great experience, and FAR better than what I had when working with another company who installed my original system (now OOB). Ali helped me dial in the right components and answered all of my questions. SolarTech also went above and beyond to make sure my monitoring system worked with the existing and new panels, including providing me with a new monitoring kit at no additional charge - after the job was totally done! The NeoVolta battery has been awesome for me these past several years, covering crucial circuits during outages (which I barely even notice) as well as offsetting my time-of-use with substantial savings. Fast forward 5 years and my family has grown. I need more panels again and Ali was the first person I called. Again, he's been incredible with helping me get the best system for my family's needs at the lowest possible cost. It's refreshing to work with someone who is responsive and doesn't try to oversell. If you're looking for an awesome solar company, I highly recommend SolarTech. read more

Highly recommend this Solar company. We had it installed in 2022. From Pete the salesperson to Greg the installer we are totally satisfied. Recently we had an issue with the controller. Called Greg in service and was able to walk me through a couple of steps over the phone and it was resolved. Turns out the pool person turned it off to clean the filter and forgot to turn it back on. Thanks again Solar Tech. Anthony T. read more

Terrible, unresponsive and unprofessional service. Their sales people will lie to you to complete a sale. They do not provide any support once the project is installed, and you can expect long delay and poorly organized operations. read more

UPDATE (August 2025). It took my original negative review to get these guys to respond after ONE YEAR of leaving us hanging. And throughout the month of June/July they did work with the City and Edison to finally get everything approved and working. I was planning on updating my review accordingly - especially given were receptive when we asked for some kind of appropriate recompense for the thousands upon thousands of dollars we spent needlessly on a solar loan and regular Edison power bill for the year these guys went dark. Sadly, they offered an amount below just ONE month solar loan/edison bill payment. We told them to please do a little better as the offer was...paltry compared to our loss. And once again...they've ghosted us. So unfortunately we stand by our original review. read more

Solar still going strong but I wanted to commend SolarTech for how they have handled the SunPower bankruptcy. When things were still being sorted out with SunPower, Eric and team from SolarTech assured us that there would be a solution in case our panels malfunctioned or needed servicing. When the situation was more clear with SunPower, the owner of SolarTech sent us an email saying that they are standing behind all of their installs and the warranty work for this. Even the initial assurances that they gave us during that strange period helped alleviate any stress or anxiety we had about basically our investment not having a warranty. Here is the current situation as of October 2024 with SunPower. They are now bankrupt but had sold off their solar panel technology to Maxeon a few years ago so Maxeon is responsible for the panels. I believe Enphase is our micro inverter warranty person which is still valid. And SolarTech warranted the install. so we are still good. The only thing that may not be covered because of the bankruptcy is the Monitoring system by SunPower. If this does go down because of the bankruptcy, Eric assured me they can be retrofitted with the Enphase monitoring system for a small fee. Appreciate their forthrightness and amazing customer service. My salesperson, Eric, is still my go-to for any questions I have about service or monitoring, and, while I am sure he isn't necessarily getting paid to answer my quick emails from time to time, he does so quickly and with so much enthusiasm. I have referred two friends to SolarTech and everybody has been thrilled with their service and installs read more

This is an updated review. They apologized for not having notified me of the inverter problem at the time of their noticing it. It took full two months to replace the broken inverter with a new one. However, I think the inverter company SolarEdge made much bigger contribution to the delay on that issue. When they got a warranty replacement approval from SolarEdge, the job was scheduled quickly, and the technician arrived on time and got the job done nicely. During all those procedures, SolarTech customer service department reached out to me a few times to explain what had happened and check the progress. They care about customer's satisfaction and their reputation. read more

More than three months ago, they came to install the battery and all the necessary equipment for my solar panels, and we've just been waiting for Edison to come and secure the meter. Solartech employees said that as soon as Edison came, we should call them so they could come and activate the solar panels. It's been more than three months now, and we've been trying to contact them, but they won't answer. The seller the same. I'm still waiting. Our search for a solar contractor because we wanted a Sunpower brand so we expand my current system. We have always liked Sunpower because it's best solar panel, have individual inverter, never had an issue from our old panels, app is easy to understand, never had issues with customer service(when we needed before), 25 yr warranty & rated as the most efficient solar panels in the market. Met up with Ali as my agent. He listened carefully what we wanted & what our needs. He gave a great presentation about Sunpower and their battery, which made me more convinced on what I know about Sunpower. He reassured me that my old system will work well with the new one. He also suggested things that we might want base from our needs. We gave us detailed options on systems, lease vs buying and also payment plans. We ended up buying our system. Prior to this expansion, we heard a lot of horror stories my friends experienced when they had their system installed. We had some delays on the start of our installation but it was understandable ( it was raining a lot that several projects would be moved). When they started, everybody was very nice and professional. They explain things to us thoroughly and reinforced things we forget. They are all accommodating to our needs because they are aware I work nights. Bree was always easy to talk to. She coordinates everything we need well. Derik was also very helpful. He came to our assistance even when he was already off. Ali was still reachable even when we needed help outside office hours. Max, assisted with the inspection, was very helpful also and explained things to us on what is happening. All in all, we are happy with this company. From beginning to end, we highly recommend them if you are thinking of getting a solar system. read more

A few years ago, they did a great job getting everything installed. There was a delay in the thermostat, and once that finally arrived, they completed the installation. The system works great at heating up our pool. We recently had a lot of backyard work, and I noticed that the solar pool heater didn't seem to be running. Robert came by, reset the system, and showed me that the toggle had been switched off. He then proceeded to check the system on the room to look for any signs of leaks, and even adjusted how one part of the system was secured on top of our aluminum pergola. Our system is up and running again. Robert even threw down some toys for our puppies that had accidentally been thrown on the roof :) read more

I don't often write reviews, but SolarTech truly stands out. They are an excellent company, and Ali, in particular, is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and customer-focused. Due to my limited availability, Ali made time to visit my home late on a Saturday afternoon to provide an estimate. During his visit, he carefully surveyed my roof, garage, and surrounding areas, all while patiently explaining everything in detail. As we discussed payments, incentives, and other aspects, I had many questions, which he answered thoroughly. Even after his visit, I continued to reach out with more questions via text. Ali responded promptly, kindly, and professionally every time, which helped me fully understand the process and the required documents. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to confidently choose SolarTech's quote from the four quotes I had received from other solar companies. I'm very glad to have met Ali and worked with SolarTech read more

We installed solar pool heating and re-roofed in the past - extremely happy. I knew we were going to do a Tesla batter and we finally had it installed! Dave B was our sales rep and he was very courteous and friendly and patient with all our inquiries. The installation team did a clean install. Emerald and Lilly in the office helped with all our paperwork and rebates. Now that it's installed, we love reading the app to see how the power is stored in the battery and going to grid. I went back and forth on getting solar for over 10 years. I finally pulled the trigger due to net metering changing. I have got more then 10 bids over that time and this year got 4 bids before deciding on SolarTech. Ali Ibrahim was fantastic to deal with and was someone I felt was honest and upfront. Even though SolarTech wasn't the cheapest price I decided to go with them based on personal recommendations and online reviews. They use the SunPower system and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Tesla was much much cheaper but reviews all over the internet showed me they are a disaster in terms of customer service when something goes wrong. So many horror stories about broken systems for months and even some for over a year. That and the fact that they don't use micro inverters steered me away. SunRun was insane in terms of price so they were out. I also had another local installer give a bid and liked them but in the end wanted SunPower so chose SolarTech. From start to finish the project was well communicated and professional. As in any big project like this there was a couple hiccups but everyone from the sales team to office staff and installers were all responsive to my questions and concerns. Rafael and his install team were amazing and the work they did at my house was perfect. He answered any questions I had and he and his crew were super clean and respectful. They cleaned up any mess they made and overall I was really impressed with their work! My system has been operational for about a month and I haven't had one issue with it. I purchased a 14kW system and I'm producing anywhere from high 82-97kWh a day in June and July which are obviously peak sun months in So Cal. The SunPower monitoring is great and the panel level data is cool to see. In conclusion I would highly recommend SolarTech and their team. Ali, Rafael and Charlene were some of the people I worked with and they were all fantastic. read more

I did receive a call back after about 8 hours and now my replacement panel is scheduled to be installed. read more

This company has great employees and they do a great job. We recently had them replace our roof and upgrade our solar panels. Our only negative is the people in the office don't seem to understand how to communicate with the homeowner or their own employees. They didn't send enough workers to complete our solar panels instillation in one day as they had indicated they would and I was told they sent more workers to install 3 panels than our 30. Frustrating for the workers and me as the homeowner. They did a great job on our roof redo and the guys doing the work were all great and respected our property and were here on time. Once again though the office is remiss in not communicating to the roofers and the solar side in order for them to communicate with each other and the homeowner. In other words the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. There were tiles left over and the lead roofer stated someone would be coming to remove them. After a couple of weeks of the tiles sitting in our driveway I called the office and was told they were ours and I would have to figure out what to do with them. That was a frustration. I want to reiterate the workers for both the roofing side and the solar side are the biggest plus for this business. read more

My solar system was installed in 2020 and I was happy about it until now. My electric bill was very very high the last few months and upon checking my solar system, it's been down for several months. I called Solartech to come in to take a look. They came and told me that my service panel was not good. I asked electricians to come in for a look and they told me that how come they didn't provide a new service panel and should have replace the panel during the installation. Alos, there's workmanship issue during solar installation. They removed my SPA breaker and re-arranged my breakers in the service panel to make room for the Solar breaker. They also put in the incompatible breaker. By doing so, they broke the back panel and the technicians just placed wrong screws to hold the back panel to my service panel. Over time, the screws gave out and caused a burnt to my service panel bus. I called and emailed Solartech for their workmanship issue. From the pictures they have, it clearly showed how the panel was before the install. They just refused to take responsibility and provide no response. I'm very disappointed and wanted to warn people what has happened in my installation and they're NOT standing behind their workmanship issue at all... read more

Excellent pricing and installation quality. No issues in 9 years after installation. Great customer service.

We had to sue Solar Tech in small claims court. I want to warn people about the unprofessional behavior of this company. In July of 2024 we hired Solar Tech to do an inspection of our solar system to make sure it was working properly. While doing the inspection the technician changed a setting that controlled how much power is reserved in the battery from 20% to 100%. The result was that our system stopped sending power to our house and to SDG&E, effectively turning off our solar production. By the time we figured out what happened and had Solar Tech correct their error, two and a half months had passed and the error had cost us a little over $2,500. In October of 2024 we wrote a letter to Solar Tech explaining what had happened and asking them to reimburse us for our loss. The company did not respond. Over the next several month we called Solar Tech at least 8 times, each time leaving a message that went unreturned. Finally, in May of 2025 we were able to reach the business manager, Tonya, who explained that she was new to the job so it wasn't her fault that we had received no response. She said she would look into the issue and take care of us. Several times she told us she would speak with the VP and get back to us, and then didn't. After about six weeks of this, with only two weeks to go before the deadline to file a lawsuit, Tonya told us that Solar Tech was accepting responsibility and offered to reimburse us about $1,700, or about 2/3 of our damages. We told her that wasn't acceptable. She said we would have to speak with the VP and that he would call in a day or two. He never called. In July of 2025, with just one day to go until the deadline, we filed a small claims suite against the company. We continued to call the company to try to resolve the issue, but they have not returned any calls. Our impression is that even though Solar Tech understands that this was their mistake, they are going to make us jump through as many hoops as possible in the hope that we will give up, or that they will be able to pay less than the actual damages. We're not saying this company is a scam. They probably do good work most of the time. But it's clear that they prioritize money over treating their customers with respect, and behaving responsibly and professionally. read more

We have been up and running with solar now for a couple months. SolarTech has been fantastic from start to finish. From the moment Dave D, the salesman, came out, to the last installer, everyone has been so great. There were some misc permit issues along the way but SolarTech held our hand thru it all! We wanted a ground mount, knowing it would be more expensive but the cost was still reasonable, doable and very competitive with other highly rated companies in San Diego. Showed up on time and did a great job cleaning solar panels for decent price. Would hire again.

I recently had my solar system with a battery installed by Solartech, and overall it was a very good experience. Their pricing was competitive, and along with the positive reviews about the quality panels they use, these were the main reasons I chose them. They also seem to be a well-established company with a clear, organized process, and because of that, most parts of the project moved along smoothly without much effort on my end. The installation itself went as expected, and the team handled the necessary steps and paperwork in a pretty organized way. There were a couple of moments where I had questions, but communication was generally steady and things got resolved. I especially want to mention Alex Brown, who was my main point of contact. He was consistently responsive and effective, and having someone reliable to reach out to made the whole experience noticeably easier. Overall, Solartech did a good job. read more
